It scans slides, negs, and reflective art, and none of them very well. My HP Photosmart slide scanner did a better job, and cost about $3,000 less. It's large, clunky, and irritating to use.

It is supposed to be a high-resolution (2500 dpi) scanner, but only half of the scanning area is high-res. Which means if you're scanning reflective art larger than 4x6, you are limited to 1200 dpi. Pretty lame.

If you can pick one up for $100, it might be worth it if you've got s SCSI card and a lot of desk space.

We bought this thing brand-new, and I was never happy with it. Then we started shooting with digital cameras, and it's been sitting in a closet ever since. These days, we don't even have a computer with a SCSI card to hook it up to.

It's old technology now, but it wasn't great, even when it was cutting-edge.
