Customer Reviews:
They're Completely Indispensible Now.......2007-09-25
I got these cute little things in desperation after having a set of Bose TriPort earbuds for almost a year and losing the rubber tips again and again. I swore I wouldn't use them anymore.
I've had these for a couple of months and simply love them. They fit perfectly in my ear and it's much, much more difficult the get the rubber tips off.
The real kicker is the sound quality. The full spectrum is audible, and the fact that the rubber tips seal inside your ear provides a certain measure of noise isolation (not cancellation, of course, but isolation). This makes a big difference in hearing both musical resonance and depth of voices in the spoken word.
Don't hesitate - they're a steal for the price, quality, and peace of mind.
good value.......2007-09-19
I've had the JBuds for nearly a year now, and they've held up well. I would say that the noise reduction is decent, but not as significant as with my battery-powered Sony MDR-NC6. Very comfortable and good quality manufacturing.
better than advertised.......2007-09-19
total noise reduction with excellent sound quality. You also get more than one cap for the head phones.
Very comfortable, accomodates all ear sizes........2007-09-17
I really like these ear buds. They are very comfortable and you can change the piece on the ends to fit the size of your ear. Three size choices which makes these very practical. With a good fit you will really get the best sound quality possible.
Best $20 ear buds.....EVER!.......2007-09-15
These are amazing. Forget the price tag (which itself is a bargain), these ear buds sound really good. I did a side-by-side comparisons with Apple (in-box), Creative (in-box), Phillips noise reduction and Sennheiser PXC 250 noise reduction and I could not believe that JBuds sounded better! The ambient noise blocking is pretty good too. However, I am not sure how well it will work in a plane. The in-ear fit is pretty comfortable. Although no audiophile, I am pretty fussy about my sound quality. JBuds definitely made me happy.

Customer Reviews:
Everio GZM130.......2007-09-26
Great little camcorder. Uses a built in 30 GIG hard drive so there are no disks or tapes to mess with. Color seems fine. Low light features works great. DIS is weak though. If you are shooting anything with the zoom feature do yourself a favor and get a tri-pod. The included software takes a bit to get used to but has nice features.
Anyway, we like ours.
So far so good, but software sucks.......2007-09-15
If you buy this video camera , you have to add another 100 bucks to buy a software for making DVD, otherwise you would be turned out like my situation: take quite many hours of video but no solution to transfer to DVD. The attached software has bug, I tried several times to make movie, it just wasted my DVDs.
Great Little Camera.......2007-09-10
Very pleased. I don't care much for the software that came along with it. Not very intuitive and required me to start over multiple times (very time consuming to start over) because of a simple error. But the camera performed well.
Good Camcorder in a Small Package.......2007-09-05
Very good camcorder. Exactly what we were looking for: digital camcorder with a hard-drive rather than DVD. This keeps the camcorder compact. Was concerned whether 30 GB is enough. We use it to tape snippets of our new born son. So far we haven't run out of space on the hard-drive. Also, seem very easy to connect to a PC to transfer file. The only quibble I have with this is the controls and on-screen menu were not intuitive.
JVC Everio GZMG130 .......2007-08-30
Took this on our vacation to Nashville this summer. Takes awesome video but don't buy it for the Still pictures though as it's quality is very poor.
You can edit the videos in other programs by renaming them with a ".mpg" file extension.

Keep 5 of your favorite albums ready to play instantly whenever you want with this 5 disc CD changer Other features include - optical digital out Remote control with disc keys & numeric pad 10 key pad for direct track access Continuous play Programmable for up to 32 tracks for 5 discs Stabilizing clamper
Amazon.com Product Description
Although it's a budget model, the JVC XL-FZ258BK five-disc carousel player still satisfies many requirements for ergonomic operation and quality sound reproduction. JVC equips the XL-FZ258BK with play exchange, which lets you change any four discs while one is playing. An optical digital output lets you record direct to CD-R or minidisc for pure digital copies and also facilitates integration with a surround receiver and home theater.
JVC has long been recognized for its dedication to high sound quality. Accordingly, this player offers JVC's exclusive P.E.M. D.D. (Pulse Edge Modulation Differential-Linearity-Errorless) digital-to-analog (D/A) converter, touted by many as one of the most accurate and "musical" one-bit D/As available. The converter is designed to render all the delicacy and subtlety of recorded music, and an 8x oversampling digital filter lends a helping hand.
Conveniences include continuous play and smart random play, five individual disc-select keys on the front panel, and a remote control with 10-key pad for direct disc and track access. The XL-FZ258BK also offers a 20-track program chart, resume functionality (letting you pick up where you left off before you turned off the player), program play (up to 32 tracks and/or discs), and four-way repeat (which lets you repeat all tracks, a single track, programmed tracks, and random-play options).
JVC has thoughtfully provided an independent volume control for the player's headphone jack, and the unit comes with a disc-stabilizing clamper to reduce potentially sound-degrading internal vibrations.
JVC's enhanced Compu Link control system uses intuitive technology to foster communication between various JVC components. This unit comes with a one-year warranty on parts and a 90-day warranty on labor.
Customer Reviews:
After two weeks.......2007-09-27
A good buy. It works very well and I have had no problems. However, the disks are loose in the tray. Moving the machine can cause the disks to slip out of place and jam the machine.
It came BROKEN!.......2007-09-12
We bought this new off Amazon and when it arrived it wouldn't read CDs. It's been in the shop for a few weeks now and I have no idea when we'll get it fixed. It is under warranty, but this is ridiculous!
Wouldn't buy it again.......2007-09-12
The first one I ordered, the carousel tray wouldn't close (seems like they would have checked that at the factory), and with the second one, I hold my breath as the tray grinds to a close. Inexplicably, you can't load cd's while the unit is playing. Other than that, it plays cd's -- which is what they're supposed to do.
Good Changer While It Lasted.......2007-09-06
We ordered this changer last December and it arrived in perfect condition - so far, so good. It worked great for eight months.
But then it totally froze up in mid play with five CDs locked inside. Since we live in Hawaii and would have to ship the unit to Honolulu for service, we were concerned about the condition of the trapped CDs (and their eventual return). Trying to contact JVC for "customer service" is a total joke. They have an 800 number with the usual menus but it is impossible to talk to a real person. The only option was to e-mail them which they said they would answer in five days. Customer service? Well, ten days later we get a standard form e-mail telling us to ship the unit to Honolulu (which we already knew) with no mention of the concerns expressed in our e-mail about the trapped CDs.
Our search of the internet turned up enough horror stories of JVC "service" that we've decided to heed the first rule of those who find themselves in a hole: stop digging.
JVC XL-FZ258BK 5-CD Changer.......2007-09-03
Overall excellent performance. However, one glaring problem stands out with this changer that I have never encountered before with all the other changers that I have owned. It does not show the overall time of the CD. This might not seem like much but it really is an inconvience if you need to determine how long the music will be playing. This is a feature I believed to be standard on all players. I guess it's not. Other than this one problem, it's a great machine.

Didn't work for me..........2007-09-10
Only when jammed into my ears would these little devils produce good sound. They fall out when jogging. Much to finicky.
Nothing else works for me........2007-08-27
I got these for Christmas last year and I haven't found any that I like better. I've used them on the PSP and numerous (Zen V, Zen Microphoto, Philips Gogear, and my Zune) MP3 players and the sound quality is always perfect. The buds, if pressed in right, do a great job at keeping out interferences and I don't notice any leakage. They hold up well too.
The best headphone for the price.......2007-08-20
I didn't buy this item through Amazon, but I just thought it's important to let people know how well this thing performs. When you first listen to it, let the speakers break-in for about an hour of listening. After that, you can crank up the volume a bit and the bass will sound great. This headphone fits really comfortably in the ear and it doesn't fall out easily. The sound quality is unbelievable! It sounds better than many more expensive brand out there. I don't even know what the other companies are thinking when they are charging five times the money for a headphone that sounds no better than this one. Anyway, just buy this headphone and you won't be disappointed. I used this headphone with my Microsoft Zune mp3 player.
Awesome buds.......2007-08-17
I traded in a pair of Phillips ear buds for these at a local retailer because the Phillips were too painful. When I first put these in I was very underwhelmed. They sounded like crap! Then I messed with them a little and compressed the foam enough that it formed a good seal with my ear when it expanded and WOW!!!! These sound great. Everything sounds great from deep lows to the highs and everthing in between. The key to great sound though is to get a good seal. These buds are very comfortable. I wear them for hours at work and the only problem I have is that I get an ear ache because of too much bass. I highly recommend these.
My New Favorite Headphones!.......2007-08-11
Right outta the box I was super happy about the fit and sound.
I've owned some etymotic $80 earbud headphones after those I owned the skullcandy earbuds and now I own these Jvc's.These are my favorite,if these were available when I purchased my etymotics I would have saved myself about 70 dollars. They fit well and do a great job of blocking out outside noise even at low volumes.
Now,I don't listen to any bass cd's.bass bass b b b basss, don't get me wrong I did a couple times in sixth grade.I had no problems with not enough bass in these. I found these to be a well balanced headphone for my tastes I have no complaints about sound quality.
I only put on headphones when I listen to hypnosis cd's or podcasts or the radio when I walk the dogs. These are perfect hooked up to my cheapo mp3 player,if I had them hooked up to a quality source no doubt they'd sound even better.
If I were to take these on a roadtrip to listen to music I'd be completely satisfied with them for any time of music from rap to metal to electronica to jazz to whatever.

JVC Wireless Headphones.......2007-09-24
These Wireless Headphones are working great and I could not be more happy with the quality of the product. I strongly recommend them to any other potential buyer.
Betty Peters.......2007-08-28
I am not happy with this product at all and I wish I had never ordered it. I read all of the reviews prior to my purchase and I thought I was buying a good product but I made a mistake. It has been several weeks since our purchase and we STILL CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET THE HEADPHONES TO WORK! They did not come with any instructions, we had to get those online and when we did they were as clear as mud. The only thing keeping me from returning this item is the fact that I didn't keep the original packaging. I wasted $50.00 on a product I can't use. Needless to say, I am very upset.
Wireless Headphones.......2007-07-30
They work great. I have no previous experience with headphones of this type but they did what we wanted them to do. We got them for our hard of hearing mother so she could listen to TV without disturbing my day sleeping husband. The only improvement I would make would be an easier way to get the headphones on the charger. Although we can do it, it was clumsy for an elderly person. All in all, they were certainly worth the price!
I say, "Don't waste your mone on more expensive brands"........2007-07-18
For the price, these headphones are wonderful. They are extremely easy to hook up and the sound quality is great. As a matter of fact, the quality is almost too great. I can hear background noises I have never heard through the TV (for example, people walking and even papers shuffling from the "extras"). You can easily go from room to room or even outside and continue to get quality sound. Previous reviewers have stated they found it hard to recharge the headphones but I have not found this to be true in my case. I set the headphones on the charger and that's it. It has been as simple as that for me. I like to watch TV in bed after everyone is asleep and for that reason my husband loves them too!
Junk.......2007-06-30
My old JVC Headphones lasted 6-7 years. I order this unit and it would not charge. Called JVC they couldn't help. Sent unit back. Received replacement unit-will not charge. Looks like the connection is not very good. Sending the second unit back.

Great Camera.......2007-07-26
I really like the camera and am very satisfied. Only complaint is that the battery lasts barely 45 minutes and it takes a while to xfer the video into my computer for manipulation. Otherwise, plenty of features.
Perfect Disney Camera.......2007-06-18
Got this right before a trip to Disney World. Read just enough of the manual to get the basics. It worked great. It is small, light weight easy to use. Easy to switch between video and stills. The video quality is pretty good. Picture quality is also good. It was great to have both decent video and stills from the same small camera. The only downside is the battery life, it only lasts a little over an hour. Not really enough for a full day. I haven't used any of the included software. Transferring files from camera to PC is simple enogh just using windows and Ulead video studio works great with JVC's .mod files. Just get a bigger battery and use the included battery as a back-up and you have the perfect Disney camera.
Great Recording! - Poor Battery Life!.......2007-06-17
The JVC GZMG255 is a great little video recorder packed with features. Its small and light weight, and fun to use. Easy to get the video off the unit via USB and burn to DVD. The only downfall is JVC includes the BN-VF808 battery which only gives about 1 hour of run time. If you want to upgrade to the next battery BN-VF815 it will cost you an additional $70.00 for 2 1/2 more hours of run-time. Overall would give the unit 5 stars for ease of use and video quality, however -1 star for JVC cheaping' out on battery life!!!
Excellent product, direct DVD works great - Low battery life.......2007-06-14
Excellent product, direct DVD works great - Low battery life
Mac Users Rejoice.......2007-06-03
Although missing from the product description, this camera (via the included dock) has Firewire. So I got a 4-pin to 6-pin firewire cable, hooked up to my Mac, and iMovie instantly recognized the camera and imported the clips. No conversion or intermediate steps required. This capability also comes standard with the GZMG155, but the 255 has superior resolution and a flash instead of the light. I started with the GZMG130, but the still camera was worthless. The 255 has great capability for video and stills. The USB port is still available for file transfer, and iPhoto opens right up when you connect.

Customer Reviews:
Great headphones!.......2007-09-18
This is not going to be an overly helpful review, I just wanted to say that I love my pink marshmallows. They sound great and match my pink iPod Mini. I love that they block out the annoyingly loud music at the gym when I am trying to listen to my own tunes! Every earbud that I have every tried to use has hurt my ears (you know the little flaps of cartilage that are supposed to hold them in?)...because they are small or something, but these ones do not, no matter how long I have them in. My husband also just recently got himself a black pair because he liked mine so much.
Great Earbuds!.......2007-09-15
These are great earbuds! I like them much better than the ones that came with my iPod. They're comfortable and block out other sounds. I use them every day on a commuter train and I can't hear the people around me, without having to put the volume up really high on the iPod.
Very comfortable, almost undetectable........2007-08-01
I'm very happy with the headphones. I didn't expect to find them to be so comfortable. Definately a good deal.
Acceptale.......2007-07-30
Comes with two sets of ear buds, but about the same size. Both too large for my ears. Sound quality is about average. Wires have remained kinked from packaging and have never straightened out. Would not purchase again.
Great comfort and keeps other noise out.......2007-07-27
Actually, this is my second set of marshmallow headphones. My first set broke about one month after the purchase. It must had been something I did because these have been tuff and have taken many hours of abuse and sweat. My husband has a blue pair. We both like the way they keep other noise out while we are exercising and doing other types of workouts. Since they fit into the ear, I don't have to turn the volume up higher on my mp3 player. While running or jogging, they don't come out and stay fitted an comfortable throughout all our sweating. My ears don't feel sore even after 40 minutes of having them in my ear. Another nice feature is the extra set of cushions. And, if they break within the year, send the headphones along with the receipt and they will replace them....at least, they did for me. They are the cheapest on Amazon. They cost about $25 to $28 dollars at Best Buy, Circuit City and Walmart.

Customer Reviews:
Great service and product.......2007-09-06
The service was a good as the product. I am VERY impressed with my new JVC camera. I can't wait to order accesories.
Decent camcorder with microphone input +nightalive!.......2007-08-13
I brought this camcorder after returning my Sony HDR-SR7. I liked the Sony HDR-SR7, but it does not allow me to record online classes on computer screen -- too much ghostlines and useless for that. GZ-MG555 also has some ghostlines when I record the computer screen and TV screen, but by adjusting the settings, I can get rid of those ghostlines completely. For the Sony, I can not get rid of those ghostlines no matter what to change, even Sony Style store technician told me that is normal for Sony.
So I am reviewing this camcorder with Sony HDR-SR7 in mind. Sony HDR-SR7 can record both HD and SD. JVC GZ-MG555 only allows recording in SD format. If you do not plan to get HD recorder and upgrade your DVD player to HD, buying the camcorder with HD recording will not benefit you so much, since HD format will take a lot of space to save the files. To make DVD to play for your friends, you will have to let software downward convert it for longer time.
But having HD capability is a plus, so that when you need that format, you don't have to go out buy another camcorder. For me, I want to record the online classes in SD format, with HDR-SR7 with so many ghostline, I do not have much choice.
The video quality in SD format are pretty much the same, comparing between the Sony HDR-SR7 to this JVC GZ-MG555. Sony's low light quality is slightly better, when not engage JVC's Nightalive feature (I will talk more about the low light recording more later). Playback directly from camcorder to HDTV set, Sony produced better video quality than JVC, since Sony's output is 1080i and JVC is 480i. However have the MPEG2 files from both burned into DVD, both has similar quality.
During recording, Sony has an eye piece in addtion to the LCD screen. JVC GZ-MG555 can only be viewed from the LCD screen. At low light from that LCD screen, JVC may look not as good as Sony. But recorded video is better than the LCD displaying during recording. If you just look the LCD screen to think the quality of the video is not good, that may not be true reflection of recorded video.
JVC has a built-in LED light. Under the low light condition, it can be on automatically. For a few yard distance, it helps the video a lot. Sony has a night mode, which the camcorder record in black and white. Without external light help, Sony can not match JVC with the LED light.
Out of box without going to manual mode and without knowing there is a Day/Night button, JVC may not record as well as Sony in low light. But once you start using the settings in low light, it is better than Sony. On the top dial, the center is a push button. Not very obvious, but that is the Day/Night button. If you recording indoor or at low light, you should push it down to use the night setting. However, at inside house in the night with dim light, even with that still not able to record good video. JVC has a feature called NightAlive! Yes, NightAlive, it is alive once that mode is on. That is part of manual mode (dial set to M), then select the Nightalive mode by pushing the function button than lever to the left. That is an amazing effect! Beat Sony nightvision mode by a ton! It has shape color video even with not much light at all.
Sony has many manual controls. However, almost all the manual control is by touch screen. That is difficult to use, since you can not actually see the result video at the same time easily. JVC GZMZ555 has one dial on the top, as well as controls next to the LCD display. Its manual control for the shutter speed and apature can be very useful and effective.
However, Sony HDR-SR7 has manul focus ring that is better than JVC GZMZ555. It turns out JVC GZ-MG555 also having manual focus in the M dial, then push down on the selector. I would really hope JVC GZ-MG555 also having a manual focus ring, which would make it so much easier for advanced use. In the low light, adjusting the manual focus sometimes caused the LED light turn on, which is also on the same selector and easy to trigger by mistake.
Both Sony HDR-SR7 and JVC GZ-MG555 has microphone inputs. That is a great feature for recording from computer/TV screen, or recording meeting and getting its audio feed from PA system, instead of using the built-in microphone. Sony HDR-SR7 has external headphone jack. That is great, since you could actually hear what you are recording, when the audio feed is not pickup over the air. JVC has screen display the microphone sound level, which may help adjust the sound level, but you still may want to hear what is being recorded --Since you can not tell by looking the sound level bar to identify the inpunt level is too high. JVC could make it showing red color or yellow color to indicate the microphone input is exceeding the level. But it did not do that. I ended up redo the recording because the voice was oversaturated.
Sony HDR-SR7 has a remote port that is the LANC control port. JVC GZ-MG555 does not have it.
JVC GZ-MG555 has a manual lens cover. Sony's lens cover is automatic. JVC when it design the lens cover also put little bit of lens hood in front of the lens. That makes JVC's filter diameter to be 46mm, while Sony at 37mm. That may fool a lot of people think JVC's lens is 46mm. That is not true. JVC's lens actually is slightly smaller than Sony's in diameter. But the lens hood makes it looked bigger.
Both Sony HDR-SR7 and JVC GZ-MG555 using D.I.S that software to compensate hand shaking. Both are not as good as the O.I.S camcorder I have. Both camcorder has 10x optical zoom, but with D.I.S, you can not record good quality video by holding it by hand at 10x zoom distance.
I decide to stay with this JVC for now for almost half the cost of the Sony. It allows me to record computer and TV screen. JVC has better manual controls. The MPEG2 files from JVC is good for manking DVD. I really like the JVC's NightAlive feature much better than Sony's Nightvision. Maybe in couple years, Sony can have good quality HD camcorder that can record comptuer screens. I may buy a Sony then. Or JVC's HD allowing SD as well, I will stay with JVC HD.
Good Camcorder but Mac Users Beware...........2007-07-09
Bought this camcorder a few days ago and am now returning it, unfortunately.
Enjoyed the usability and operation of the product - until we came to download to our Mac. As described on the box, it is straightforward to download files to a Mac, the problem is what you can do with them after that.
The video files have an extension ending in '.mod' that iMovie doesn't recognize. The bundled software is for PC only, and the camcorder manual suggests a link to purchase third party software from Japan. The editor and DVD authoring software from that link cost $110 together and the English on the website is sufficiently poor to make us doubt this would be a good investment.
Searching the web it seems we are not the only people struggling with this problem. Suggested remedies include changing file extensions manually, or buying more third party decoders/codecs. Couldn't make any of this work, and eventually decided we were straying so far from the smooth and easy user experience described in the promotional material that we have returned the product with regrets.
Picture quality in night shoots.......2007-07-05
I have both sony ( DCR SR-42 ) as well JVC (GZMG555) ,But i am easily make out difference between both camcorders .
Because of 5 CCD in JVC , the pictures quality is awesome . The main difference will be in night shoot . JVC is really Good compare to sony .
Thanks JVC for 5 CCD Technology.. !!
not worth the money.......2007-06-25
I bought this camcorder last week as a replacement to our existing one that we have had for 3 years. I was very disapointed with the quality of picture at night or low light conditions. The picture quality during the day was par at best. I hooked it up to the docking station and it did not work. I had to plug it into the camara direct. I also had some errors while recording and it prompted me to do some repair. I pushed a couple of buttons and it seemed to correct itself. The software that it came with is hard to figure out. The only pro is 7 hours of record time. I am probably going to return it.
