Customer Reviews:
Broke after one month..........2007-09-26
I brought this with me to Europe for the summer. It was working perfectly for one month. Then it broke. The problem is the flippable Euro prong portion of the adapter must have lost it's connection to the body of the adapter, due to constant flipping. Since I used it for my laptop, I must have flipped it at least one hundred times over the course of one month. But it still should not have broken so quickly. I had to scramble to find one in Germany. The only replacement I found had no ground, but it only cost me 2 euros.
Use in Hong Kong?.......2007-09-07
I bought the adaptor and for the first time tried to use it in Hong Kong. I didn't take the instructions with me because it looked pretty simple. I noted in some reviews that people had problems using it in England but the instructions said it would work in Hong Kong. I was able to find the little plastic piece that you apparently need for the English and Hong Kong type plug but I couldn't figure out how to use it. The flat prongs that rotate were too narrow to go in the plug and the only other option were the round European prongs. Since they were round and not flat I didn't attempt to use them, although I did think about it. When I got home and looked at the instructions I think I could have used the round prongs and the little plastic piece on the receptacles in Hong Kong. The instructions need to better. I think a lot of users have had similar problems. Other than that it is a nice compact piece of travel equipment.
Compact and easy to travel with........2007-08-31
used the adapter in australia and new zealand for cell phones, cameras, and computers. It worked great.
perfect travel companion.......2007-07-21
Charged my laptop and phone without any problem while i traveled throughout Spain. I would highly recommend it.
Does not work in all UK outlets.......2007-07-06
UK seems to use several different outlet types. Sometimes the fork would unlock it, but not always.
The europlug side of this device worked just fine.
Also BE CAREFUL. This is an adapter ONLY, not a converter. Make sure the device you plug in supports either 120 or 240, or you may fry something. Electronics are USUALLY safe, but read on the adapter. Hair dryer would be a very bad idea!
Product Description
Replaces battery power. Universal AC adapter. The 12 plugs fit most portable CD players, portable radios, cordless telephones, amplified antennas, cassette players and MP3 players.
Customer Reviews:
Works Great.......2007-07-03
Works great. Make sure you follow the directions. My CD player had the polarity marked on the jack (hole where you plug in the AC adapter). It was a lot cheaper than the Radio Shack models...which only come with one size plug. This model is much more versatile.
Works great a little big.......2007-06-03
It works great but it is a little thick ...Meaning it is hard to use on some outlets with a closing cover, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. With that said it works great. It is a great price too for so many options. Radio shack wanted twice as much for just one option.
No more looking for the proper adapter!
Great Product.......2007-05-30
I've had this item for some time now, and it still works just like the day when I received it.
Universal AC Adapter.......2007-05-21
This is the item that I ordered. When I ordered, it came when the confirmation notice said that it was to arrive. Thanks for your assistance.
Handy to have around.......2007-04-20
If you have ever misplaced the AC adapter for an electronic device, you'll wish you had one of these around the house.
It comes with 12 different plugs, so odds are very good that one will fit just about any device. The polarity can also be change from + on the center to - on the center for 'non-standard' items. Of course, the down-side to the 4-way adapters, is that there are 3 unused plugs sticking out in all directions. A little awkward, but in a pinch, it's better than nothing.
There is also a voltage selector switch with the options of 1.5, 3, 4.5, 6, 7.5, 9, and 12 VDC. That should cover almost every option.
The 300 mA output current is sufficient for most electronics.
The one thing that is missing is a 9V battery eliminator plug.

Customer Reviews:
A GREAT ITEM.......2007-09-19
I PURCHASED THIS ITEM ABOUT A MONTH AGO. I READ REAVIEWS ABOUT HOW HARD IT IS TO FIND A GOOD FM TRASMITTER FOR THE ZUNE BUT THIS WORKS VERY WELL. IT GETS STATIC WHEN IM CHARGING THE ZUNE BUT THATS FINE.
should be called the icrap.......2007-09-04
I bought this because like most people, I didn't want to buy a new car stero to play my ipod in. I went to set it up and I had some trouble with it. setting it up was a breeze but it took some fiddling around to get a good signal. I finally found that it could play my old hippy folk songs perfectly....but when you add a bass guitar to the song...it fuzzes up and pretty much gives you a static sound. I tried to turn on the bass reducer, but that was no help.
It may be my car, but I expected better because it says that it has a 10-30 ft range.
Great device!.......2007-08-29
I had the use of a hired car for a few days and like almost all hired cars in the US, they lacked an auxiliary audio input jack or a MP3 CD option. I set the Griffin to 87.9 MHz, which worked great 95% of the time. Occasionally a radio station was broadcast close to this frequency, which caused some severe interference. The quality was sub-par but it was better than being alone with a gutless V6 engine and a severely understeering FWD drivetrain.
Not real pleased with performance. .......2007-08-27
I was wanting to play my own music in my car that only has a stock radio in it. I thought this would be a cheap way to get tunes into my car. The transmitter is well built and looks really nice. It, however, does not perform well in my Subaru Loyale '94. I have heard that it also does not work well in newer Subarus with ribbon antennas. I read all the info on how to get it to work well and I still get lots of static from it. Sounds like a radio station that you are about to loose. Not something I want to subject myself or others to.
Changing the station that it transmits was confusing. You can't just change the station to the one you want you have to press the select button to confirm it. Not sure why the extra button press is needed. Kind of annoying.
I was only able to get one frequency to work very well. The other blank places on the radio didn't work hardly at all. Most not at all. Just static would come through. They were just as blank as the one that did work.
I finally got an old tape deck for my car and use a cassette adapter for my PDA to get audio into my car. Works great. Much better option that the FM transmitter.
You may have better luck with it in other cars with stronger antennas and radios. Was not able to test it with any others.
Great except.......2007-08-09
Does just as advertised. Except your MP3 player must be set to a high volume. I had trouble finding an unused frequency because I live in a giant urban area. I use 92.1, but as you go from city to city unused frequencies will change.
Product Description
EZ Upgrade makes upgrading your notebooks hard drive fast and easy. The AC adapter kit includes an external Hi-Speed USB 2.0 drive enclosure, USB and auxiliary power cable, and EZ Gig II Data Transfer Utility. That's all you'll need to transfer applications, settings, data and OS to a new hard drive.
Customer Reviews:
Cannot use with a HP Pavillion ZV5340us drive.......2007-09-15
This upgrade kit works flawlessly. It's very easy to clone data from one drive to the other. Just beware if you have a ZV5340us that you're trying to switch out. The Hp drive of this model will not connect to the enclosure due to some plastic molding they have across the pins.
works as advertised.......2007-09-11
This product worked as advertised. Upgrading my hard drive was literally an EZ process.
I have a Thinkpad T40 with a 40GB internal hard drive (with two partitions) I wanted to upgrade. I bought a Hitachi TravelStar 160GB internal hard drive separately (obviously not included).
The process took three steps and less than thirty minutes:
Step One: Installed new hard drive into upgrade kit enclosure (this was very easy)
Step Two: Ghosted my original hard drive to the new hard drive (this took about thirty minutes and again, was very straightforward even with my partitions)
Step Three: Installed my new hard drive into my laptop and my old hard drive into the upgrade kit enclosure. (five minutes total time)
NOTE: I installed the software on the included CD-ROM onto my computer and ran it from there rather than booting from the CD-ROM directly.
The enclosure itself at first seemed flimsy, but after securing the hard drive with the included screws, it seems like a pretty solid unit. I am using my old hard drive as a bootable backup, not as an external hard drive, so I can't comment on that.
So after about thirty minutes of processing time, I booted up my computer, and lo and behold, it looked exactly as before, except with a greatly expanded hard drive.
I would recommend this product.
Great tool!.......2007-09-09
This item was so easy to use, I had and old laptop with win. XP and a 20 Gig Hard Drive and the instructions were so simple to follow on the manual. It took me about 20 minutes to set it up and leave it running. I do not know exactly how long it took because my USB ports are 1.0 not the like the new ones 2.0 so I think it took a few hours to complete the transfer, but when it was done it finished I had an exact copy of EVERYTHING I had on my old drive onto to my new 60 Gig drive. Awesome!!!
If you want a larger laptop hard drive - you need this product.......2007-09-06
Absolutely fabulous - it cloned my existing hard drive (60G) and put the clone on the new drive (120G). Piece of cake, worked perfectly. Just make sure you do your research first to see what hard drives you can use to replace in your laptop.
Apricorn Upgrade Kit.......2007-08-29
This kit has everything you need to upgrade or back up your hard drive, except the new hard drive of course.
I am not extremely computer literate and thought I would have to take my laptop into a service shop to get the hard drive replaced. Apricorn helped me through it without a snag. I was able to copy my entire old 40 GB hard drive to the new 160 GB, smooth as silk. Worked the first time, unlike the competitor which I bought first and had to return.
I highly recommend the EZ upgrade kit.

Customer Reviews:
Worked fine until drive malfunction.......2004-09-27
Got this drive for an original iMac back in the winter of 1998. It worked just fine until 2002 when the eject function stopped working and it wouldn't accept any disks. It wasn't worth going through the trouble to get fixed, so a new model was purchased.
Two Years Old and Going Strong.......2003-01-29
Mine's been working flawlessly since I bought it in early 2000. I understand the newer models are bus-powered. If for some reason you can't have a power strip, that's a concern, but I do wish the AC adapter was smaller.
Gotta love the way it shoots non-Iomega zip disks half way across the room, too!
I recommend this drive for low-cost, low demand storage and backup. Now if only zips would come down in price...
No Zip Disk Included.......2001-01-19
This drive does not include any blank media. There is Iomega software included on an installation CD-ROM, but the product is sold without a Zip Disk.
Ok but not long lasting.......2001-01-07
This product is probably good for beginners or the occasional computer user who wish to save a few files. The fact that it is external allows you to switch it from one machine to the other. It is to be noted though that mine broke down within a year... A cool startup tool but don't put too much hopes in it.
Great Product!.......2000-12-21
This is the perfect product to back up file, photos, Vieo Clips, MP3s. Great performance, fast transfer rate, not very noisy at all comparing to an LS-120 I own. I recently bought a Zip 250MB, and so far it's get my thumbs up! Full compatibility with the 100MB disks. If you want a portable storage device put your money on a Zip drive. CD-R & CD-RW media are great. The only drawback is the media being used over and over. CDs aren't a very reliable comparing to cartridge disks. Cartridge disks are more reliable and last longer in the re-write processes of everyday backups of your files. And keep in mind that the Zip drives or less expensive and are easily transported anywhere, easy to install and work with. A+

Customer Reviews:
Great hardware, but the software could be better.......2007-08-29
Probably the best universal remote control available. It is just the best piece of hardware around. The software however could be better : it lacks a feature to alow users to key in IR codes (there are work-arounds, but they require using a series of third-party software). I doubt it would take much effort to add this feature to the software (it seems it existed in some previous version, but it was later disabled). Also, the manufacturer does not seem to keep its IR code database up to date with the latest devices.
Fantastic features in a reasonably priced remote.......2007-08-15
Programming the device through a PC is easy once you get the hang of the interface. Much easier than the "learning" feature of past universal remotes. Almost all of my latest AV equipment was in the list and I simply had to select it to get nearly all the features of the manufacturer's remote on this universal remote.
Arguably the best PC programable remote on the market........2007-08-02
I've tried them all. Touchscreen remotes. Big remotes with scads of buttons. Learning remotes. Pre-programmed remotes. They all had their pluses, but they all had lots of minuses too. They were either to big, or bulky, or clumsy to handle. I thought the touchscreens were the answer, until I found out that I was spending a lot of time looking at the touchscreen, to find a button location, when I should be looking at the TV screen. Let's face it, with todays technology, there are just way to many menu selections on the TV for all the equipment (TiVos, DVD/CD players, etc.)we have hooked up to our TVs, and Stereos. If you don't want to be constantly looking down at your remote when you should be watching the TV screen to make menu selections, or just change modes, or channels, or volume. Only two things fit the bill to do that. One is a mind control remote, and to my knowledge they haven't got one on the market yet. That leaves the remote with tactile buttons. Buttons you can feel. Even in the dark. Try watching a tennis match with a touchscreen remote. I love tennis, but sometimes I dont want to watch every minute while a player mills around for over a minute before he serves. With tactile buttons you can fast forward while never taking your eyes off the TV, and hit the play button precisely when the player serves the ball. Equally great for all sports, not just tennis. Touchscreens just don't cut it for this kind of control. Now to this particular remote. It's so great I just bought a second one, and am seriously considering a third. It will control (directly) up to 20 different units, but with a little creative programming, you can control as many units as your budget will allow. Macros: You can program about 99% of the buttons with a macro of almost unlimited keypresses. You can download control codes for hundreds of pieces of electronics equipment. PC programming: All the setup can be done on your PC, and then downloaded to the remote. Got another new MX-850 remote? It takes about 30 seconds to mirror the settings from the first remote to the second or third remote. It's also an IR/UHF remote. You can use as either an IR, a UHF, or both. You can use it with Universals Remote Receiver, or as I did, with a PowerMid receiver. Don't know if it works with any others. One more thing. It handles well, and doesn't take up much space on the coffee table. I know, thats two things, but I haven't found anything yet that I can't do with this remote. Oh yeah, you can still program it by hand, if you want to. But that's no fun.
5 stars to counteract the ID10T complainers.......2007-03-13
Really, I only give it 4 stars due to CONS stated below.
CONS: It does not support any OS but the ever-insubstantial Windows OS. It uses bleedin' 70's tech to connect: 9-pin RS-232 Serial Port w/ proprietary (non-standard) cable. Guess what, URC? Modern computer systems often ship with NO serial port.
Gosh, ya' think a web based interface that is OS and browser neutral might be a good idea? My Cannon camera has a mini-USB to USB connector, very standard. And modern.
Pricey: I'd rather have 650 but the case color is too light for me. 850 is a dark slate, which works for me.
PROS: I was able to program it under FC6 Linux, using native WINE. Not pretty, but it worked. This is where IQ and understanding come into play. I bought this on account of a previous review that said basically, if you can't program it you have an ID10T error, and we can't fix that. You also have an RTFM problem, as well as a PEBKAC error. Do hire a professional, but not a programmer...
I also bought this because MX-500 does not have a code for my AIWA DVD player. The one thing I needed, it didn't have, but MX-650 and above does. I got the programming right on the 850 on the first try: This makes it unusually good hardware and software.
BE READY TO SPEND $$$ ON PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMMING.......2007-03-11
Are you kidding me? The people touting this remote must be professional programmers hoping you will unsuspectingly buy it (like I did) and then have to hire them to program it. I consider myself somewhat tech savvy, but this is ridiculous. If you want to do it yourself, start by downloading the 72 page programming manual (That's right - 72 pages). The programming manual for the MX-850 is intended for professionals (they actually talk about getting the client to approve the cost of reprogramming whenever the cable company makes channel lineup changes). If you can figure out the programming manual, then you have to download the programming software (if you can get it on the internet). Then you realize the device is not USB compatible (Is it 1998 all over again?). So then you have to go out and buy a $35 serial port to USB converter, install the software for the converter and hope it works. Then the fun really begins when you try to navigate the software and get it to communicate with the remote and do what you want it to do. I previously owned the MX-500 which was easily programmed from the remote itself. The product description for the MX-850 is deceiving in my opinion because it makes it sound as if the remote is easily programmable. It is not. Unless you don't mind spending the money to hire a professional, I'm with the other reviewers who say this remote is far more trouble than it's worth.
UPDATE: OK, I've calmed down considerably after working with this remote for a week. I was able to download the programming software off the internet (URC still restricts software updates to authorized professionals so you will not be able to automatically install IR codes for the latest equipment). Be prepared to spend some time learning how to program the remote yourself, but it can be done. It is a very nice remote once programmed. Tactile feel is great (I would stay away from touchscreen remotes). The new center select button is a huge improvement over older models. After having used the remote for awhile, I would change my rating from one star to three. I would still stay away from this remote unless you have the knowledge and patience needed to program it using the URC software. And to the reviewers who resort to name calling and giving higher ratings only to counteract opinions of others they don't agree with: grow up.

Customer Reviews:
Good enough for me.......2006-08-27
I bought the docking station because I had an old laser printer (HP 2100tn laser jet) that I could not get to work over my network. I didn't want to buy a new printer and the only other way to connect this printer was through a serial or a parallel port both of which my new laptop lacked. The problem was that if I bought the Lenovo dock, I would spend as much as I would on a printer. The Kensington product has worked well and I am happy with the performace. My only complaint is that I cannot hook up an external monitor through the docking station and I think that is something that would make it more complete...but it is good enough for me.
Basic functions OK, put caution on PS/2 ports.......2006-05-25
I acquired this unit about a week ago to serve as a docking station for a new laptop computer that does not have any of the traditional ports on it. You must install the software that comes with it to use the serial or parallel ports, and I had to reboot my computer to get the parallel port working. (Note that the serial port appears on a non-standard setting, mine is COM4, so any software must be directed to that location.) I have not tried the serial port, but the USB and parallel ports appear to work fine. However, beware that the PS/2 ports on the unit do not work the same way as built-in PS/2 ports. A keyboard and mouse plugged into them will perform their basic functions. But, if you have an advanced mouse or keyboard with extra keys or other options, they will not function through the docking station. It appears that the PS/2 ports on the docking station are wired to always appear to the operating system as some form of generic Human Interface Device mouse and keyboard, rather than recognizing whatever form of keyboard is plugged in -- as happens with built-in PS/2 ports. Because of that, I could not find a way to get the computer to match the special mouse and keyboard drivers required for the advanced functions to those devices when connected to the docking station. Kensington support ignored my first two requests for help on this issue, and then suggested I contact the keyboard and mouse vendors -- which does not make any sense because the devices work fine any time except when they are connected through the PS/2 ports on the docking station. I had to find another way to bridge my keyboard and mouse into a USB port to get them to work. For that reason, I probably would not have purchased this unit if I had known about this issue. However, if you only need a parallel and serial port, as well as two USB ports, this unit will work fine.

Customer Reviews:
Still not the best fit..........2007-08-15
I purchased this battery to complement my portable DVD player. We use it for my daughter's entertainment during long trips and the battery it came with only lasts less then two hours. Because the DVD player is all systems all regions, we needed to find something to extend the life of battery without having to plug it in. This product was supposed to fit pretty much anything including our DVD player, but it doesn't... We still continue to use it, but the plug sneaks out at times which causes a pretty big uproar from our daughter... Make sure you check if one of the plugs it comes with fits your product.
Good Alternative to RCA OEM Battery.......2007-05-14
I used this unit on one screen of the RCA DRC 629N Dual Screen DVD RCA 7" Dual Screen Portable DVD Playerafter finding that the unit did not come with a battery and the battery is impossible to find anywhere except by contacting RCA directly for $99.
I decided to try this out as it claimed to provided the same run time as the RCA battery and it did not disappoint. I noticed on the package that the battery time is dependant on the size of the screen and whatever functions you may be using so I suspect that if I used double screens then the time will be cut in at least half but I did get a solid 2 hours out of it with power to spare with one screen with a single DVD test.
One other thing to pay attention to are the instructions on initial charge:
For the first 3 charges you must charge for 13 hours each time.
This should condition the battery for on going usage as this is NIMH and not Lithium Ion.
Enjoy
light and slim.......2007-04-09
I bought it last night, charged it for 16 hours according to the instruction. We tested it with a brand new Polaroid portable DVD, it lasted around 3 hours. We will use it for taking a 25 hours train to Canada. It is very light, slim and portable.
Not the right fit........2006-07-13
I guess I don't know how good this product is because it is not compatible with my Magnavox DVD player. The description of it "DOES NOT" tell you what portable players it can link to so be careful and check first to see if it will work. I just think it is poor that Amazon does not put the compatible units on the website.
works like a champ.......2006-02-18
I bought this thing to power my emerson portable 2 screen dvd for the flight from boston to austin and it did very well about 3 one hour dvd's and recharged right on board

Amp Capacity Incorrect.......2007-07-02
The listing says that it has a 1000 mA capacity. The box with the converter says 600 mA. It did not work for what I needed it to do and I had to return it.
Creates buzzing noise.......2007-05-09
This product creates a buzzing sound. For this reason I do not use it regularly.
Perfect When You Need a Quick Charge.......2006-08-17
I take this unit travelling with me when I don't want the weight and bulk of an extra AC charger and its long, entangling cords. The PowerMax fits neatly into a pocket and comes in handy when you want to charge your phone and don't want to make a trip to the car.
GREA............T.......2005-03-25
This is very nice to have around, even if you don't need it now, because you'll need it some time in the future. I have used it for my Cell Phone, GPS Receiver, Rechargable Battery Charger and I have even used it for my 400W Inverter.
GREAT PRODUCT---GREAT IDEA
