I've had this printer for four years. I print approximately 25 documents each week. This is the first time that I have had to replace the cartridge. It's a great little printer and this cartridge lasts a good long time, too. Compared to ink jet printers that I have had, I get about 5 times as many prints from this laserjet -- and the price of the cartridges is about the same as the ink jets.

You may get the impression that a cartidge labeled for LaserJet 1000, 1200, 1220, and 3300, should work with all the 1000 series of laserjet printers. Unfortunately that's not true and this toner does not work with the 1012 or 1020 laserjet printers.

Perfect Copies.......2004-11-02

I have used a HP LaserJet 1200 in my office for 3 years, and have found it to be the most reliable and best printer I've ever owne. Changing the cartridge for this printer is also the simplest of any printer you will find. It takes about 5 seconds to replace. All you have to do is pop open the cartridge cover pull the cartridge out, and slide in your new one. I'm considered fairly inept when it comes to gadgets, but this one I can manage. If you're looking for aprinter, the 1200 is a good choice. The cartridge is also widely available with cartridge refill companies, making the affordability of this product attractive.

Bad product, buy another card from 3com!.......2004-04-06

I have bought this card together with the 11g wireless router (3crwe554g72). The combo is great as long as you use WEP or non encrypted.

When ever I use WPA, the connection establishes, works for an hour or so and then drops for 5-10 minutes. I need to reassociate with the router again. Sometimes I need to pull out the card and even (rarely) restart the router.

This WPA problem may be related to the router (supports WPA), the card (supports WPA ONLY trough the OS), or the OS-drivers them selfs (Win XP PRO). However it seems, that some products do not have this issue under Win XP, so this indicates that the problem is either the router or the card.

When the WPA issue will be resolved by for instance a firmware upgrade, I will give this product 5 stars.

Please note: alla the newest (/6 april 2004) relevant updates for Win XP, the newst drivers for the card and the newest firwares updates for the router was installed!

Ok, the card and router were droping connection when WPA was used. Also, I could never boot my notebook with the card in it. I needed to eject the card, boot the notebook and insert the card back in.

Now: both the boot problem and the WPA connection drops was originating from the fact that 3CRWE154G72 has a hardware failure! I got my card exchange by 3com to another card. It seems that ALL 3CRWE154G72 cards have HARDWARE ISSUES, since 3com offered me another card, namely 3CRWE154A72 (Works great! Buy it instead!). The hardware issue may be restricted to some notebooks only - not sure.

Given this, I give this card rating of only one star! 3coms support earns 5 star for fast and customer friendly support.

Delighted with my wireless setup.......2003-11-24

As you can tell with my review of the 11g base, I'm completely sold on this 3com configuration. I've used this card in my laptop, and it's been smooth as butter, plugging in, pulling the card, going on standby, roving to other rooms, firing it back up, it's solid.

CD installation of the software was the only minor trouble spot... and it's simple... the Windows plug-and-play hardware wizard will ask you for folder locations of drivers (the folder it tries to look in by default doesn't have the drivers... they're in sub-folders)... you may have to open up a Windows Explorer window, and look thru a few folders on the CD to find the right file, then copy the folder location to the wizard. Took only an extra minute. And it might have been because I'm using Win98.

After installation (which was still incredibly easy, compared to any other hardware install), the thing has been perfect. If it ever glitches or causes me a headache, I'll come back and amend this review pronto, promise. Also, don't forget to check the 3com website to get rebate money back.

Don't waste your time.......2006-01-03

I used to work in Tech Support where we were plagued with problems with customers who had US Robotics modems. I was told the company had been sold and their problems were behind them. I then made the mistake of buying this adapter because it was on sale.

Despite what it proudly displays on the box, this device is not Windows compatible. The contents inside sheepishly explain that it's not recognized by Windows exactly but it'll still work. And it will. For a day or two at best and then you'll have to reboot. Sometimes repeatedly followed by shutdowns. Eventually it will pick up the wireless signal again for a day or two whereupon the cycle will repeat. After a short time period, the software Configuration Utility will not be accessible (literally when you try to open the program nothing happens) and the Adapter will drop the signal from the Router. Considering all of the above, the problem is clearly not in my wireless router. Their Tech Support suggested I change some BIOS settings. Nothing works and I don't feel the average consumer should have to be monkeying around with their BIOS for a piece of equipment labelled as plug and play. This is a poor product. I won't be purchasing anything from US Robotics again.

Orion's Skyquest XT4.5 is the smallest in their Dobsonian line of telescopes that includes the B00020WZB0 XT6 , XT8 , and XT10. Newcomers to the hobby are always surprised at how large amateur telescopes are, but to experienced observers, this XT4.5 is considered a very small scope. Tiny, in fact (It's so small, astronomers are buying them just because they think they're so cute). Make no mistake, though--the XT4.5 is a full-fledged telescope, and is a serious observing tool that could last you for years.

Your money buys you a lot in this case. Included are a good-quality 4.5" f/8 primary mirror, two eyepieces, a finder, and a CD-ROM with a stripped-down version of The Sky, a software guide to the sky. The scope comes in two cartons. One contains the optical tube, and the other is a flat-packed box containing the base, which you assemble yourself. Orion includes all the hardware and tools you need, and the instructions are well written. Allocate about 30 minutes to assemble and align everything.

There are a couple of cost-cutting measures. The primary mirror is spherical, not parabolic (this is not likely to affect the views, however). Also, the focuser is plastic. While I've never seen one break, plastic focusers are by nature less robust than metal ones. Finally (and this may be the most serious concern of all), the scope is a little short for an adult. The eyepiece is only 3 feet off the ground, which may force you to stoop over (hint: try sitting on a short chair or stool while observing). On the other hand, the height is ideal for a child, and as a result, I heartily recommend this telescope for children.

Under the stars, the XT4.5 exhibits excellent performance. Once properly collimated (aligned), the optics give clear, sharp, contrasty views. I've spent enjoyable nights using these telescopes, both as a teaching tool and by myself. Jupiter's cloud band and four moons are no problem to see, nor are Saturn's rings. The Orion Nebula is a glowing fan of green gas, with a quartet of tiny stars at its core. Under dark skies (and with some diligence) the XT4.5 can even pull in some of the fainter deep sky objects, like the brighter galaxies in the Virgo Cluster.

Despite the fact that I have a garage full of expensive telescopes, I never feel compromised with any of Orion's XT scopes. As recently as a few years ago, the old adage regarding telescopes was that you must spend at least $300 to avoid buying junk. While this is still mostly true, Orion's little XT4.5 breaks the price barrier in a big way. As long as you can deal with the short eyepiece height, it's a great starter scope.

I am new to astronomy, and this was my first telescope. It was easy to assembly, and I have been enjoying it very much. I can now see the 4 moons of Jupiter, and the rings around Saturn, and to view the moon is totally awesome. This is a great beginner scope at a reasonable price!

Excellent for beginners, fine for many experienced users.......2007-01-07

This is a great scope for beginning astronomy--and beyond. It is sturdy and simple to operate. It has enough light-gathering power (more important than magnification) to reveal dim star clusters, nebulae, and galaxies and good enough optics to show you the surface of planets like Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars. Affordable as this scope is, there is no reason to give so much as a glance at the trashy 60mm refractors with exaggerated magnification claims that litter the market.

Some advice on selection. Dobsonians come in a range of sizes; the bigger the instrument, the more you will see. A long-focus 114mm (4 ½") like this one is a fine instrument, especially for children and others whose ability to carry large objects is limited. A teen or able-bodied adult should consider going up to a 150-200mm (6-8") scope. Bigger Dobsonians (250-300mm and above) are too heavy and bulky for some people.

Some advice on use. Viewing through a telescope is less like playing a CD and more like playing a guitar. Finding objects takes a little bit of practice. To simplify it, I would suggest supplementing the finder supplied with this scope with a "red-dot" finder to aid in initial pointing. You will also need to buy a star atlas (Sky & Telescope's Pocket Sky Atlas is the best available), a red flashlight to read it without blowing out your badly-needed night vision, and a guidebook to lead you to interesting objects. These investments will greatly add to your enjoyment.

What more can I say? This is the kind of scope that experienced observers have been trying to steer novices towards for decades. Although, I recommend that you do your homework before buying any scope--learn the sky and get to know experienced stargazers who can advise you--when it comes time to purchase, this scope is a fine choice.

My six year old daughter and I opened the two boxes, put it together, and within 15 minutes we were out in front of our house looking at the moon, start clusters, the moons and cloud bands of Jupiter, and the Andromeda Galaxy. It is big enough to see all of these things from a big city yet it is small enough to easily fit in a closet.

If you are looking for a light weight scope you can pull out of the closet on a whim, big enough to see the items mentioned above, and easy enough for a kid to use, this is the one.

I've had the xt4.5 for a year now, and even though I have since purchased the xt10, I still use the xt4.5 more frequently because you can just pick it up w/ one hand, carry it outside, and begin scanning the sky. Even though a 4.5 inch primary mirror is small for a dobsonian telescope, this is a serious piece of equipment for the money. This is no cheap "department store junk" scope.
Perfect for a quick observing session, or just to check the quality of "seeing" before you drag out the "big one".
One of my nephews who has looked through this scope asked me what I was going to do w/ the little 4.5 now that I have a bigger xt10. Looks like I'll have to buy him one of his own because I'm not parting w/ mine.
