If you're a fan of fighting games, you'll be hard pressed to find a sweeter arcade-style joystick today for the PS2 than InterAct's ShadowBlade Arcade Stick. It's the "cream of the crop" with a feature list that consists of a digital control stick, eight analog fire buttons, Auto-Fire locking switch, Mode and Program buttons, a heavy-duty die-cast metal frame, and an ingenious cord storage compartment built into the base. Performance is spot-on and quality of construction is topnotch. As such, this well-built unit should provide many years of dependable use. Most notable about this stick, however, is the controller's full programmability. Button assignments can be relocated, combinations of up to 14 steps can be created and programmed to one button (and retained even when the unit is turned off), and button force can even be programmed to one of three values in Analog mode (none, medium and high). It's all quite easy to implement, too, thanks to a well-written manual. While the ShadowBlade is not the only choice in PS2 arcade sticks, it's the most substantial and feature-rich offering available without springing for the massive and pricey X-Arcade controller. You really won't find a better designed, system-specific arcade stick on the market.

When hit games are ported from their bigger arcade cousins to a home console system, one factor that usually leaves the player wanting more is the control mechanism. Thankfully, with the ShadowBlade Arcade Stick, that element won't be an issue.

This stick is very durable and very professional. The aluminum body, sturdy joystick, and button configuration were designed for fast-action PlayStation2 gaming in mind.

This durable controller features an autofiring option, as well as great button placement for large and small hands alike. It also comes with a cord spindle in the base of the ShadowBlade, to keep things neat and tidy.

I wouldn't take one of these for free. Overall, it's just made poorly. The stick is loose, and feels really cheap. Worse, it clicks quite loudly everytime you move it in a different direction. The buttons are pressure sensitive, which is really pointless seeing that the stick is made for arcade style games, which have no pressure sensitive buttons. These also click everytime you push them in. If you're looking for anything like a real arcade machine, steer clear of the shadowblade. I'd suggest any of the sticks mentioned in previous reviews, or if you've got the cash, an x-arcade with a ps2 adapter. Now if you'll excuse me... ima go play some kung fu with my nes advantage. Worst joystick ever........2003-10-26

I bought this stick because I am an avid gamer, mostly of the fighting genre. I attend tournaments regularly for Tekken Tag and Tekken 4 so I wanted to use a stick instead of a pad so I bought this one because of its cheap price (other sticks tend to cost $50+), but I made the wrong choice. The stick itself is set in a square recession which makes the diagonals harder to hit and the buttons are of the "nipple" type instead of the standard pushbutton fare. The stick also requires much farther movement in order to get it to register.
This stick is also prone to break. I bought mine and played with it for 2 weeks and it broke. The stick stopped registering movement and several buttons ceased to work. I am very dissapointed in this stick. I would not recommend it to anyone. Even if you really need a stick, you should steer clear of this junk.
Instead of this stick, I suggest that you should try out MASSystem sticks, Namco/Hori sticks, or the elusive Korean Stick. These sticks are the most common at tournaments because they are the best.

Terrible product.......2003-07-11

I tried this stick out to compliment my old Namco arcade stick. They shou'dve spent less time with the metal, and put more of the money into developing responsive buttons and a stick that registers motion correctly. None of the extra features matter if the basic design is flawed so deeply. A controller's first and really, only purpose is to enable you to move your character around smoothly onscreen. The Shadowblade fails at this. I've used Ascii sticks, Hori sticks, Mas sticks, and the Shadowblade isn't even close though it shares a similar price range.

Shop around. There are way better sticks out there. Especially if you're a fighting game fan, you're just torturing yourself if you buy this mess.

I can somewhat agree with some of the reviews. This stick is a little stiff, but it's designed that way. It's metal for crying out loud. You can drive a car over the side with the buttons and it would still work. In the winter, it's a little cold on your lap but, again, it's metal. I've used it for fighting games and had very little difficulty adjusting to it's controls. It isn't really designed for RPG's, drivers, or shooters. It's well made, sturdy and dependable in my opinion. No. I do not work for a gaming company. haha Just an average couch potato gamer.

HDTV compatible, this TV is capable of receiving and playing digital TV programming that is broadcast in either 1080i or 720p format. The TV must be connected to a DTV set-top box by its component video inputs and switched to DTV mode (an external, over-the-air antenna may be required). I think the people who find problems with this Excellent HDTV Monitor TV suffer from failing to read the Manual or just lack common sense. I purchased this set instead of the CT-34WX50 primarily because [of the price]. Since owning the CT-32HX40 along with the TU-HDS20 HDTV/DTV Digital Tuner I have enjoyed exceptional TV viewing and it influenced me to purchase the CT-34WX50 and additional TU-HDS20's when the Wide Screen's price came down and went on sale. My CT-34WX50 now resides connected to my Pioneer Elite Home Theater System consisting of VSX-39TX A/V Receiver, DV-38A Pure Cinema Progressive Scan Reference DVD Player(each one hooked up to the CT-34WX50's Component Video Input), M-10X EX Amplifier, two DV-F07 301 Disk DVD Players, DVR-7000 DVD Recorder, PDR-W37 CD Recorder, CT-07D Digital Double Auto-Reverse Cassette Deck, two PD-F27 301 Disk CD Players, my trusty Dual 1264 Turntable (still have lots of old LP's), and two Panasonic PV-VS4821 S-VHS VCR's housed in two 56.1" high Gloss Black Pioneer Component Racks. All this equipment delivers sound through a Definitive Technology High-End Speaker System. My mother has inherited the CT-32HX40 and TU-HDS20 and loves it and will soon inherit the VSX-39TX and M-10X when I upgrade to a Pioneer Elite VSZ-49TX.
In closing I see no evidence to suggest any of the problems occurred by these people and my suggestion is that if you are in the market for an HDTV you can't go wrong with this set.

great TV.......2001-11-06

I am not sure why people are having so much trouble with this TV, I loved it the minute I saw it displayed, and I went got one.
So far it has been great, but it does require good source. Bad source, bad picture, like the one metioned below. If you are feeding VCR signal to the TV, how can you expect good quality pictures?

I don't have red push or greenish problems, everything look sharp. Red push can be resolved by tuning the TV with avia tools.

The set that I have is one of the better ones (?) except for the geometry problem mentioned by Steve Bourgeois's review and the slight red push.

Other than that, you cannot save picture settings for each input. So if you change settings for DVD and then watch regular TV, you have to readjust your settings.

I would recommend the Sony XBR450 model. It's a bit more expensive but I think it is a more consistent model. I have the 36" in the living room and it's great.

This set has a serious problem with color. It is impossible to get normal skintones, etc. on broadcast programming, and when I play a DVD, everything has a greenish cast. Plus, I went through 3 new VCRs before I finally figured out it was the TV! Either there is static in the audio when playing a tape, or wavy lines at the bottom (this was with 2 top-of-the-line new Panasonic VCRs, so you'd think they would be compatible). I am sending mine back. Update: I have now purchased a Sony XBR 32 inch flat screen HDTV and I LOVE it! Color is crisp and authentic and all home theater equipment works exceptionally well.

Great TV if you can get one without defects.......2001-08-10

I went through three of these before giving up.

Set #1 died withing 10 minutes of plugging it in. Set #2 had a color problem where blond hair looked green, dirt on a baseball field looked green, etc. Set #3 had a geometry problem where the bottom of the screen was bowed so an ESPN ticker looked like it was rolling downhill.

If I had a set that combined the geometry of set #2 and the colors of #3, this product would have received 5 stars.

It has tons of inputs, is a smaller size that fits into my entertainment center, and had an outstanding picture not counting color or geometry problems.
