Great starter pack for your Pro 9000 printer........2007-08-22

If you shop Amazon carefully, you can get this variety pack delivered for less than one Dollar per sheet. It offers five sheets each of four different premium fine art, and semi-gloss photo papers. I was so impressed with the first pack, that I waited a week or two until I was able to get it again for a bit less than one Dollar per sheet including shipping, and ordered two more packs.

Buying two or three packs gives you enough sheets of each type of paper to experiment, and then buy the types of paper you use most often in bulk form over time, while still having a stock of less often used paper types on hand.

It is all first quality paper, and the first sheet of 13x19 inch paper to pass through your new Pro 9000 printer will drop your jaw. So will the next 100 prints to pass through the printer.

Just be careful to shop right. Within any given month, you can find the pack for under twenty Dollars, including shipping. Otherwise, you can pay more than forty eight Dollars for the pack + shipping. Don't go there....

I have the Canon Pixma Pro9000. I bought this item when I first purchased my printer. It's a good variety of papers to "Test" on. I was spcifically looking for papers I could multi media, Print and watercolor on. the museum Etching Paper, is the most suitable as the Photo Rag was too thin for the medium but produces crisp graphics. The Museum Etching paper is a harder feed for the printer in the top load and needs a little bit of guidence; the others are grabbed nicely. The other papers in the pack are great for photographs.

If you are looking to do watercolor technique test your paper and medium as it takes paint "differently" from standard watercolor paper. It will also not blend the printer inks which could be an advantage if that's the techinque your after.

Down-fault to all papers only printable on one side and a bit costly.

Not for the Canon i9900.......2007-03-11

Be careful if you have the Canon i9900. While you might think that since this is Canon paper it should work in the i9900, you would be wrong. Canon's reply to my query about the i9900's compatibility; "Regrettably, the Digital Art Paper variety Pack... is only compatible with the Pro9000 and the Pro 9500 printers."

I received the packing box half open. The paper was bent on the top edge.
I was not happy having the paper edge bent.

Now, another reviewer felt this yellowed disappointingly fast, and I've only had it a few days, so I really can't attest to that in the long term.

But lord, coupled with the pixma 9000, this stuff is pretty awesome. Now I've "only" got a 5mpx....went for the 12x zoom rather than rad resolution, and this in retro seems to be the correct decision as I use the zoom continually, and the 5mpx prints 13x19 just fine unless you stick your nose within maybe 4 inches of the artwork.

The product description and the product details do not specify the dimensions of the paper. Is it 4x6? 5x7? 8x10? 13x19? More info: To those who claim I'm blind - the product image has been updated. When I made the review, the image did not have dimension information. It shows 8x10 now, but even this is probably wrong, it's most likely 8.5x11. And the description still does not have the correct dimensions. It says 12x1x10, but this is probably the box size, not the paper size. The product is excellent, but I was just commenting on the description of the product.

Yellowing paper.......2007-01-02

Having taught photography for 30 years, I slowly embraced digital within the last decade. I bought a new Pixma printer for my point and shoot camera and have been using Canon's Plus paper since it gives rich accurate colors and super sharp images. Unfortunately the photos I printed a year ago have begun to yellow and discolor... my previous photos from my HP printer with HP paper are still clean and pristine. Canon is a huge disappointment. Think twice about Canon

The quality of the product is good; included in the package are useful instructions for making sure you don't smudge, as well as nifty little cardboard pieces so that you can dry two sides at once.

HOWEVER, there are only NINE sheets of actual double-sided photo paper, not ten.

This was to be a rushed order for printing pictures for the holidays. I ordered off the internet since no stores that I found in the area seemed to stock double sided picture paper. I purchased the paper and paid the extra $$$$$$$$ to have it shipped immediately, so I would receive it in 3 to 4 days. On the day I expected the paper to land on my doorstep I received an email saying it was being shipped that day. Needless to say, I paid $25 (15 in shipping) for a few sheets of paper that never arrived on time so they were totally worthless to me. I wrote the company asking for an adjustment in the cost of the shipping but never received a response. If the ad would have been honest and more descriptive of the "rush delivery", I never would have taken the chance. I was ripped off.

This paper works great with Canon printer. Unfortunately this is the ONLY paper that works great with a canon printer. Any other paper I tried produce terrible result. So, basically if you own Canon printer you stuck with this paper, which can be a little less expensive. I gave 4 stars because the price is a bit high.

I've been using this paper for quite a while with great results. I have several Canon printers, and photos come out VERY good. I have framed many of the photos that I printed out using this paper, and you would be hard pressed to tell if they were done by a lab or by a home printer.

I tried the Photo Paper Pro to see if there was a difference, and quite honestly, the difference was extremely minor, almost undetectable. The Plus paper is so much cheaper than the Pro paper, that I would highly recommend you just go with the Plus. You'll be very happy with the results, and you'll save alot of money.

I use this with my Canon i9900 photo printer and the results are very good. People can't believe I printed the photos myself - they're really photo store quality. I haven't really experimented with cheaper paper, so maybe there's a better deal out there, but for now I'm not messing with a good thing.

Great Images, Short Life Span.......2007-03-29

As other reviewers have pointed out, if you own a Canon printer you will typically get the best results using Canon ink and paper. It is also true that at the time you print the Photo Paper Plus provides images that are virtually indistinguishable from the more expensive Photo Paper Pro. I have printed identical images onto both for the purpose of making the comparisons and am highly confident that no one would be able to tell without the most extreme side-by-side comparison.

There is, however, one big problem with the Photo Paper Plus. The images will fade much more quickly than the Photo Paper Pro. I have had images in a photo album that faded significantly just one year after printing. The album was kept in a cool, dark place but it made no difference. The Photo Paper Pro is designed to last for decades under similar conditions, but this paper is not. Unfortunately, Canon makes 5x7 paper only in Plus... no Pro paper is available.

I have taken to using this 5x7 stock solely to generate test prints. Once I know I have a keeper, I print it onto an 8x10 sheet of Photo Paper Pro and crop away the excess. If you want to have photos either in albums or picture frames that retain vivid color you would do well to avoid the Photo Paper Plus. If you only need prints to look good for the short term than by all means buy this and save the money.

I have used the Canon photo paper for several years and I love it. The paper feeds through copiers easily and the phot quality is excellent. I have not experienced any fading of pictures or anything. I highly receommend this Canon product.

I use this with my Canon i960 for my parents. If you are printing images from inkjet, I recommend OEM ink with OEM paper. Pictures came out crisp and clear. If your not in a rush I would still prefer to print from drugstore.

I'll go along with the other reviewers here in that this is Canon's best paper and works well in Canon printers and with Canon ink. The prints can be stunning. It is the dye-based inks that will fade, and that is true on this paper as well as the other Canon papers. You have to get prints under glass or they will fade very quickly.

I do wish Canon would expand their paper line and offer high quality matte papers. Epson has lots of papers.
