Incompatible with many sources.......2007-09-21
I am very disappointed with this portable device. I bought it primarily to download audiobooks from commercial audio book sellers or from a libary system in Oregon which rents downloaded books for 10 days. I have discovered that because of the Ipod's proprietary software, programs used by the library system and some of the major on-line audio book sellers cannot be downloaded to that unit. Even such common files as Windows Media Files are not downloadable. THe WMF software for syncing files does not recognize the presence of the "portable device".
dont buy this one!.......2007-09-19
i got the 2gb nano mini in late july. i ran out of storage space soon. screen is too small. less than two months later the new 4g with video is out for the same price with a bigger screen. when i complained to apple, the tech says "well, we all like to keep up with technology don't we?" why would anyone buy this one?
150 for 2GB novid????.......2007-09-17
Why the heck is apple so good? How come after 2 years of telling myself that a better version is comming of the ipod nano and three weeks after I buy the ipod nano 2GB a ipod w/ video 4GB comes out for the same price. I goes to show you how much profit apple makes with their products... I bet a 2nd generation nano 2GB couldn't be worth more than 70$! apple makes us pay twice the price!
At last........2007-09-12
Audible.com made this buy an easy indulgence. I am really enjoying this great little gadget for books, music and podcasts. It works fine even after dropping it on a metal file drawer edge. Guess my ipod is not as fragile as it looks. And it syncs beautifully with itunes. This just makes me more of an Apple snob than I already was. :)
Great but why is this still priced the same as the 4 gig with Video capability?.......2007-09-12
I just bought this 2nd Generation Nano 20 days ago and feel ripped off since the new 4 Gig iPod with Video capability just came out for the same price (around $149). Amazon has a 30 day policy on price and it seems a little dishonest they would keep the price the same to avoid having to refund the difference. Why would anyone buy this for $149 now? Get the 4 Gig with Video capability. No brainer. Why not drop the price on this thing already???

8gb came out the day this one arrived. Dissappointed!.......2007-09-21
The product is fine, however, the new style 8gb came out the day that this one arrived AND ALL FOR THE SAME PRICE!! I guess this has to happen to someone, My turn this time!
Durable.......2007-09-21
I've had it for a few months now, and it's taken alot of abuse. I've dropped it alot of times, once face-down into a 2-inch puddle of dirty water, and gotten it scratched up, yet it still works fine. It's very good. 4 GB is enough. Why would anyone need 40,000 songs??? Unless their downloading illegally... awww...
Review.......2007-09-17
Product seems to work well. Sometimes I have to push some of the buttons a few times to make it work.
My wife is happy .......2007-09-14
I bought the Ipod as a gift to my wife and she is happy, the device is light and easy to wear when you are running, perfect for sports given the size and weight, the only thing that I didn't like is that the manuals don't respond many questions that you can have when is your fist time using and Ipod.
Good to go.......2007-09-13
I purchased this Ipod to go into my car which has an integrated Ipod feature, and it works well. It has more than enough memory to hold my favorite playlists, and I still have the ability to take it out when I want to hit the gym, go for a run, etc.

Customer Reviews:
Huge disappointment.......2007-09-18
I was so very excited to find a camera that was rugged and could be used at shallow depths underwater. I shot some photos for a few weeks and tried to convince myself that the quality was satisfactory (200x sharpening in Photoshop Elements II among other fixes were needed). Then took it on my once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, and floating on the surface I pointed the camera down (perhaps a few inches below the surface) and the screen went blank. I guess it is not water tight after all, and now will go back to the seller as a bad purchase. I know, I know -- I should have tested it under water before I left home rather than believe the specs but was too rushed to do it. I've owned 9 different cameras and this is the only one that has proven truly unsatisfactory.
love it.......2007-09-08
this camera is incredible.
i am a college student always out & on the go. i bring it everywhere from pool parties to bars to barbeque's. i dont have to worry about spilling drinks on it or dropping it (both of which iv done several times).
it takes great underwater pictures and great out of water pictures.
i HIGHLY recommend this product.
the price is the best anywhere & the shipping was very quick.
Don't use as "fancy camera".......2007-09-04
I figure it's the perfect present for someone you don't like very much. Really. Very frustrating to learn and get used to.
If you keep the resolution low, like for e-mailing, it makes an ok point and shoot. Otherwise, the multiple features only get in the way.
Drop-able and waterproof are the reasons I bought it, and these attributes are great, I just which it took better pictures out of the box.
Oh, and it keeps reseting itself to the default camera usage settings when every you turn it off. I almost was kicked out of a museum in Texas for using a flash, because I had to keep resetting it every time I turned it back on.
Awful pictures!.......2007-08-18
I have a small child so I thought the shockproof would be a good idea. What a mistake!!! I've taken about 100 pictures (indoors, outdoors, low light, good light) and almost all of them are either blurry or the color/flash is way off. I've tried changing the settings to no avail. I have a much older Sony digital camera -- other than power up, its speed is comparable to this piece of junk. At least my old bulkier slower Sony takes decent pictures. I'm returning my new Olympus! I'm incredibly disappointed.
Just can't recommend it . . . .......2007-08-11
I do have to give this Olympus props for seeming to be a first of what I hope to be a standard feature in compact digital cameras: ruggedness on land and in water. It's awesome to be able to bring the camera to a rained-out concert or to the pool and not have to worry. Now if they can just combine that capability with my cellphone & iPod, I'd be REALLY pleased (imagine that -- a waterproof iPhone4!) :)
Anyway, back to the Olympus here. The trouble is - and it seems that others notice this too -- that the camera just doesn't take good pictures. No matter what settings I would put it on, or even with the presets -- most my pictures all have turned out blurry. I think I have a decent handle of how I might take good photos, and I've passed the camera to several more adept photographer friends of mine. Even in daylight situations, quick motion is hard to capture. The camera requires very steady hands and a slow response to take a decent photo. Often, shadowed areas of the photos also seem more dull in color!
Another problem is that I also take many of my pictures at night: at concerts, in the club, etc. This camera cannot 'tahan'.
We should be at a technological point where a candle-lit dinner doesn't require flash for sharp, beautiful photos. But this Olympus always requires the flash.
And, at a distance, the flash often illuminates the particles within a 3 foot range, blowing out whatever is in the foreground and creating all sorts of odd orbs and such, whilst leaving the desired target (let's say a stage) in darkness. In close-up photos, my friend's faces are needlessly 'over-exposed' -- and we all know how unflattering flash can be (red-eye, oily faces, etc.) If at all possible, I don't want to take any photos with flash. This camera just can't handle available light! :(
I feel that this is a good start on a product that really needs to be refined more. Once they put the photo-quality of some of the Canons or HP digital cameras I've seen into a rugged, slim and stylish exterior of this Olympus, then I can recommend it as a purchase for anyone that cares about their memories and quality of their photographs! Until then, I can't.

Don't Buy.......2007-09-13
This is by far the worst camera I have ever owned. While it looks great on paper in use it definately fails. I have taken over 1000 pictures with it and have yet to have one come out even comparable to a 3 year old Sony 5.1 mp camera. The pictures are dark and blurry. Ironically when you visit the camera's page on the olympus website, "Crisp and Clear", is what catches your eye.
Olympus customer support is terrible. Three calls later I am just sending it to them.
Again and I reiterate, DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA!
Disappointing.......2007-08-23
I recently purchased the Olympus Stylus 760 to replace my 2.1 Megapixel Olympus that I purchased years ago. While I love my old Olympus, I wanted to replace it with something a little smaller and lighter. I have been very disappointed with the new 760 - the pictures are terrible! I even took the first one back, thinking it was defective (the new one is a little better). I have done a number of comparison shots between my old digital and the 760 and the 760 shots are much worse in all lighting conditions! I have been able to fix some of the problems with the Olympus software, but I can't do that for every shot I take. The problems are bad blurring of any movement of the camera or subject in lower light conditions (dusk and indoor incandescent lighting) even with the anti-vibration turned on. Even in good, outdoor lighting the camera is sometimes out of focus, poor auto read of lighting balance, and then there is that viewscreen which is useless outdoors. I am planning to take this one back and try a different brand. I have always had good luck with Olympus for both film and digital photography but something is seriously wrong with the Stylus 760!
Olympus Stylus 760.......2007-07-26
The last thing I needed was another digital camera but this one is amazing. I have had it only about three weeks but I have loved the pictures so far. I made an 8x10 enlargement of one of them and it was great. I haven't had any problems with them being grainy or blurry at all. I got this camera because a friend got it and as I was helping her get it set up, I fell in love with the size of it and then with all the features. There are many features I haven't used yet but it has been great so far. I highly recommend it.
Best Camera Ever!!!.......2007-07-21
I just bought this camera a couple days ago, and I'm already in love with it! I got it to replace an older Olympus Stylus model I have from 3 years ago. This camera has surpassed my expectations in every way possible!! The pictures come out incredibly clear, the LCD screen is BIG, making it easy to preview pictures, and the editing features are unbelievable! You can do everything from framind the picture, adding text, adding sound, reducing red-eye, making a calendar, etc. etc. all on the camera! Things that I used to spend hours on in the store when I was developing my pictures I can now do on the camera! It is so small, and everyone has had something nice to say about the way it looks (I got the pink one)! I am very very happy with it - I will never buy anything other than Olympus Stylus! It's the perfect camera! Make sure you read the entire manual - yes it's long, but you will be amazed at how much you can do with all the features!
Great first buy.......2007-06-11
This is my first digital camera purchase and it really is great. I've used it constantly in its first month. What I really like about it is the different settings to choose from. I especially liked the setting that always me to just hold the shutter button down and it'll take continous shots, i was about to catch the air force thunderbirds in action with it. so far i am really pleased with my purchase

A number of ringtones come preloaded on the phone, and there's even an included application, MotoMixer, that lets you mix your own ringtones. Capture stills and then send them to your friends via MMS messaging or email, or to your PC via USB or Bluetooth. The phone is capable of MPEG4 video playback when you receive a video message, or if you upload video to the phone via USB or Bluetooth. The RAZR V3 also supports custom graphics for wallpapers so you can dress up the phone to suit your fancy.
Operating the RAZR Battery Door
The RAZR V3's battery cover is designed to have a very tight fit with the phone case. You may need to use your fingernail or a very thin instrument to depress the small battery cover release button. When replacing the cover, make sure the cover securely snaps into place before operating the phone.

Customer Reviews:
Video is limited to 10 seconds - major limitation.......2007-08-04
I've owned numerous Olympus cameras, and our family uses them to take photos and videos for family DVDs. Being able to take 640x480 video at 30 fps is the main feature I'm looking for.
The specifications said the camera takes 640x480/30fps video, but you have to read the fine print in the instruction manual to see that 640x480 video is capped at 10 seconds. It's difficult to make much use of a 10 second video!
Previous Olympus cameras limited video length only if you didn't have a Type H memory card, but this camera limits video even with a Type H card. The video format has also changed from Quicktime to AVI - perhaps these movies are too large for the speed of the memory card.
Anyway, a 10 second video limit basically makes the camera useless for me, and anyone trying to capture useful video. I feel a little ripped off, because I made my decision specifically on the 640x480/30fps video feature.
Not so exciting as it looks........2007-07-05
First things first... This camera truly has all the features that were advertised... the dual-image stabilization... the shadow adjestment technology... all these work very well... This one slips so comfortably into pocket that sometimes you forget that you carrying a cam. Even the look of the cam is very stylish.
this performs very sweet in Day light and even in low light...
the problem creeps in at nights... whatever mode you use... whatever settings you change... you mount this guy on a tripod...do whatever the final picture never satisfied me... there is always a blur... or a Halo aorund a light... at the end... it discouraged me by a greater extent...
lack of Manual controls like Aperture, Sutter speed and others disabled me by making this a good camera...
i threw this one and got Canon A570 IS for less than half the price of this, i can't tell how much staisfied i am with Canon...
I won't recomend this for Photograph Crazy guys... but may be a near to fine choice for basic use... but think of the price in that case...
outdoor photos over exposed.......2007-07-03
I owned a kodak- then a canon - and was happy with my photos- I bought this becuase of the greater zoom capacity - but the photos SUCK!!! the outdoor ones have a white glare to them - and in a multipurpose room -(at my grandson's promotion ceremony)- I could see nothing - too dark -
I wish I had never bought this camera ( I paid $349)
I readusted settings etc. - reloaded into a different import software programs
Still BAD
- do NOT BUY
Ps - my daughter bought their underwater one- and loves it -
Olympus Stylus 750.......2007-07-01
1) A view finder is a must! Cannot see the subject in the LCD screen in bright light and is totally worthless outdoors. (Olympus says to change the screen contrast. No measureable improvement.)
2) Battery does not last long, especially if using the flash much.
3) No 12V auto charger available.
4) Exposure button pressure is too high increasing rate of shake, blur and out of focus.
5) The price of the camera has dropped 50% in less than 4 months. Is this a testament to poor customer satisfaction?
Sadly, the bad points outweigh some really fantastic features, e.g., 7.1 megapixels, 5X optical zoom, size, weight, etc.
It's a bummer to have purchased a lemon. Nothing to do but move on. For now, it is back to Cannon for me.
Try to buy another camera.......2007-06-14
I am disappointed with the quality of the pictures taken in the scene modes, in some of them the white balance is not Ok or the pictures appear to have bad definition, although in auto mode it appears to be a little better. Also in the HQ 30 fps movie mode, the maximum duration of the movie the camera can capture is only 10 seconds. I thought that this limitation has gone in the past (in deed some old models overcome it), and the new Olympus model is not affected with it. Also trying to solve this problem by myself, because the Olympus technical assistance took 10 days to answer an e-mail confirming the camera limitation (Ticket #2132043), I bought a 1Gb type H XD Olympus memory to try if the movies can be longer, but it was the same.
Sorry but I will not recommend this camera to my friends.

Very poorly made!.......2007-06-20
Looking at the images and description of this product, it seems well made, but it is not. Actually, I cannot remember seeing such a poorly made product in a long time!
The legs on the bottom look like bare metal, but mine came with silver paint. When attaching them to the base using the four wing nuts, I noticed they had very large slots instead of holes. This way the manufacturing tolerances could be so wide and still allow you to put it together. The pieces in the rear, used for cable management and for attaching a hub, barely fit and are almost falling off!
To me Rolodex now means junk!

Fellowes Small Monitor Riser - What a disappointment!.......2007-07-27
This item is a very poorly made and designed item. It is made of cheap plastic and feels like cheap plastic. The rubber "feet" fell off as soon as I opened the box. They would not stay on; it appeared as if the glue that was used dried up from excessive heat. The feet extend to make it taller, but they are very flimsey. I would NOT trust my expensive monitor to sit on top of this riser. Like the other reviewer said, it is "tacky". I will add cheap, poorly designed, flimsey, way overpriced. It looks good in the picture, but that's the only positive thing I can say about it.
a little large, a little tacky.......2007-01-30
Be careful if your desk isn't fairly large because this takes up a good amount of space. In addition I thought it looked a little cheap or tacky, not something I wanted on my desk every day. I ended up replacing it with a Kensington Monitor Stand Plus - also not perfect but for me a better choice.
