I had one of these at work and needed another one. Very nice compact unit, small footprint. Software is pretty easy to understand and use.

I use it to label hospital equipment but there is no limit to what you can use it for.

The one I originally got is 5 years old now and still works like a charm.

Here is a tip for all photographers. Using this printer with 3/4 inch black on yellow tape is a great labeler for compact flash cards and all photo equipment. I print REWARD IF FOUND! [...] CELL PHONE #.

No Problem--Makes Labels.......2005-03-02

Having read all the reviews on the P-touch 1500PC I was almost afraid to buy it. In spite of that, once I cut through the plastic armor it came packaged in there were zero problems. I use a Mac with OS X 10.3.8. The software and drivers installed effortlessly. the applications are very professionally done--almost gltizy cool. Moreover, they work first time right out of the box. In less than 10 min I was making plain labels. I have only tried the sample tape but it does what I bought this for. I have played with the software and while I can't be sure that fancy labels will print, they are easy to make and look good on the screen. I give the software a 5 and the machine a 5 for simplicity and ease of use.

Communication problems with PC.......2004-12-29

This labler works good once you get it to work. It has a terrible communication problem between with the PC which should be blamed on the driver. I got it to work once long ago on a IBM PC (Ibm laptop and Dell laptop unsuccessful) and it worked fine. Even though initially it is hard to get acustomed to the formating and style, it is easy to use once you have a few layouts saved.

I would still rate this as a bad buy! If you can get it to work, you are lucky...if you cant, you just wasted a lot of money.

OSX Printing Issues.......2004-12-04

The software (P-touch Editor 3.2 and P-touch Quick Editor) are the weak point for this printer in Mac OSX 10.X. I can't print from the Brother software, but I can choose the printer in other applications such as Adobe Illustrator and print from there. Not a convenient work around, but at least I can get the thing to print. You can make up your own mind about whether to buy it or not, but if you have one already, I hope this helps.

good Hardware & Software but Driver still needs work.......2006-02-25

The label maker is great and the software works well, you can use any font and it isn't bad to use. The software is somewhat like MS Publisher but not quite as polished.

My only complaint is that I didn't plan on leaving it plugged in all the time but I found problems with this. If you install the drivers on one USB port and move to a different port on the hub or PC the drivers don't install correctly, the drivers keep tring to go to the original USB port, weird. If you leave it plugged in all the time or remember which port you used you should have no problem.

Nice little portable MP3 Player.......2005-06-08

The two basic questions you probably have are: 1) How good is this boombox? and 2) Are you glad that you purchased it?

The boombox is a great value; for the price, you cannot beat it. I bought it for $35 from Amazon. The stereo is bright red, the same color as a bright red sports car. I found the buttons a little hard to push. The power switch is on the rear-left side (you can leave it on CD and just stop the CD if reaching around to the side is too difficult). If you know where the switch is located, you can adjust it by "feel". The same with the volume dial. The speakers face the side, not directly in front.

The stereo has sufficient volume for indoors (I don't like loud music). Outside it is a little weak, but what do you expect for $35? The sound quality is decent, you can hear static if you turn the volume off and put your ears to the speakers. If you turn the volume all the way up, it distorts (but what stereo doesn't?) If you are looking for a hi-fi boombox, this isn't it. But I bought it so I could listen to music at home, while barbqueing, camping, at the park, etc. It fits my purposes nicely. I am amazed how light the stereo is. The CD door is manually opened (you lift it yourself). The antenna is convenient (doesn't interfere with the carrying handle). It is a very, very simple boombox that plays MP3 and has a digital radio tuner.

The boombox takes 6 "C" cell batteries or can be used with a cord. I bought rechargeable Ni-MH batteries and spent about as much on the batteries as the stereo. The unit does not have a tape deck.

Question: Are you glad that you purchased it? Yes, I would purchase it again if I didn't have own it.

You want cheap? This is cheap........2005-02-27

First, I am returning this item because despite the picture, the boombox that arrived was red. Very red. When I complained to Amazon, they pretty much just said "sucks to be you, return it if you don't like red."

Second, in attempting to get used to red, I opened the box and found that there was something lose in the boombox. It wasn't in the battery case, or anywhere accessible, and it rattled.

Finally, there is an actual switch on the back of the unit to change from OFF to RADIO to CD. So every time I would want to turn it on, I would have to reach around the back of the unit and flip that little switch. The volume is like wise a dial on the back of the unit. Very odd. I can't seem to find any other similar product that plays MP3s and looks like this. I guess it really does suck to be me.

Overall, A Good Buy.......2005-02-20

I wanted a cheap solution to my need for a portable MP3 player. I found it. It has all the features I expected plus a few I didn't such as:

*Random PLay
*Repeat Play
*10 AM / FM Programmable Presets

I have one gripe, however. Random play has a tendency to repeat tracks over and over again (counted 3 plays of one song in particular in an hour). The unit also doesn't read discs to well that have multiple directories. If you have just ONE folder designation (such as by artist) you are fine. Otherwise, the unti gives up if it has to search to far.

The sound is what you'd expect from a unit this size and it's so compact it fits anywhere.

I'd reccomen this unit for anyone who needs an MP3 player for a small space or office situation, it really is a great buy for the money.

Now I have a true Home Theatre!.......2004-07-11

Just went from a 43 inch Toshiba to this. I've always wanted a true widesceen as i love this movie type on DVD. It is an excellent performer. I especially love the compartment below to put say ... an HDTV tuner or a cable box,etc..The set does not have simulated surround sound but you can run it through your stereo for that.I also like that it does not have any type of annoying LED lights on the front panel to let you know that it's on.It does not have also for the technophobes out there 2:3 pulldown, but i'm telling you with a progressive scan DVD player
with 2:3 pulldown such as the Pioneer DV-563A you will not miss it. It's also great with video games everyone almost it seems is concerned with burn in but i tell if you operate with normal use
your set will be fine. Hope this helps.

This TV is awesome.......2003-03-07

Originally we purchased the 47" Samsung Wide Screen HDTV, but for some odd reason we felt that it wasn't big enough. So, we decided to invest a little bit more money to get this 55" TV, and we have been very happy, it's fully loaded with options and the picture quality is amazing. I recommend having a progressive-scan DVD player with this TV.
