Good camera for the $$.......2007-03-08
The camera is easy to use and takes great pictures in AUTO mode. Mode changing on the fly or in low-light conditions is difficult, however. The buttons on the top of the camera are small and function with a minimal depression, thus you need to be very exacting and know how many increments or pressings are required to get the features you want. In low light conditions, the typical black/grey LED display is VERY hard to read. Also, using the zoom and flash regularly, the battery loses enough charge after about 4-5 rolls of film that you need to wait 3-5 seconds for the flash to re-charge. This can cost you a shot under quick action conditions. Of course, for demanding photographic situations, a point and shoot in this price range will never be enough. The only other minor annoyance is the protruding lens which complicates storage in some bags or briefcases - however, this is only a minor issue. I was on a recent trip and cramped for space when this issue came up. Overall the camera is compact, lightweight, pleasant to shoot and takes good pictures; everything you come to expect from Canon.

I like this camera, the viewfinder doesn't really block the view, just a little bit in the bottom right of the bit you look through, but it doesn't affect the pictures at all.
I've taken good pictures with this camera.
It's got lots of technical settings and buttons...so that's a bit complicated. But when I get the hang of it I'm hoping to be a camera genius.
Do not buy Canon 150u.......2004-05-21
Viewfinder blocks the view. Faulty design. Do not buy this. Canon must stop making this camera. Recommendation to amazon to not carry it, as you will surely get customer returns

A Great Monitor .......2006-12-21
This monitor that I have now is great.The grafics are great when playing Battlefield 2 and Empire Earth. It's also great for watching videos and it has never broke down on me. This monitor is for someone who plays games and watches videos on Youtube and yet doesn't want to pay for the $800 Plasma Monitor that can do everyting.All in all, this is one fantastic monitor.
Decent Monitor - No Trouble so Far.......2006-11-28
I've had my al1914 for 11 months. My wife picked it up for me so it wasn't my first pick. So I had doubts about it from the beginning.
I use it at least 2-5 hours a day every day. And so far it has yet to disappoint me. It does auto adjust when it initially turns on but I almost never see it happen. The image is crisp; colors appear to be nearly perfect and the screen size is awesome.
This is definitely not the best quality monitor on the market but for the price it was perfect for me.
Over a Year Later - I'm still happy with it.......2006-05-17
Huh?!?!?!?! I don't get all the negative reviews from so many others about this product. I've had this monitor for over a year and I absolutely LOVE IT! Now I don't know what kind of video card and connection others are using but I am using an ATI 9800 Pro and have the monitor hooked into the DVI Digital Output instead of the standard VGA which is analog. I don't think that really matters though - I mean hooked my Xbox 360 up to the standard VGA port a little while ago and the picture was awesome.
I'm not discounting anyone else's opinion of the product by any means because maybe theirs came from a bad batch or something, but just so others can hear a positive review from someone that has been very happy with their purchase for a while now! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the speakers on the monitor are a little weak, but that's really to be expected isn't it...
Poor visual quality.......2006-04-25
Broad vertical dark bands, uneven colors, auto-focuses every time it powers up (thus getting rid of your attempts to fix the image), shimmers from time to time. I've tried this for a week and am returning it. Worst monitor I've ever used.
Random Backlight Failure.......2006-04-19
I purchased this monitor after shopping around for a good deal on a 19" LCD. What a mistake. The backlight will periodically fail, the first time it happened I sent it in for warranty repair. It came back working, and I was momentarily glad that the rumors I'd heard about Acer tech support didn't turn out to be true in my case.
The second time it happened I got suspicious. I wanted to call acer tech support and talk to someone. I managed to find their mysterious phone number from a google cache and called them. It turns out they didn't DO anything when they received it. They opened it up, turned it on, and it worked so they sent it back. Of course, they don't tell you they did nothing.
Acer has been awful to deal with, they treat their customers like rubbish, and have a miserable repair facility to match their products. Don't buy this monitor!
Now when the backlight fails, I have to leave it unplugged overnight and it works the next day. Acer will not replace it because the problem doesn't occur when they have it.

Now that you've mounted your flat-panel LCD or gas-plasma TV to the wall in true picture-frame fashion, you'll probably need home-theater speakers with a similarly flat, room-friendly design. Enter the AST 220-series loudspeakers, which AudioSource consciously constructed for use in concert with each other. All were designed for wall mounting, and this model, the AST 220S satellite speakers, will also work just fine with standard CRT and projection sets.
Use the AST 220S's as primary left/right speakers with the timbrally matched AST 220C center-channel speaker, and/or as left/right surround speakers in a 5.1-, 6.1-, or 7.1-channel home theater (keeping in mind that you'll need an additional AST 220C to serve as a rear-center speaker for a 6.1 system). For front left/right use, you can either mount the speakers to the wall, as designed, or supplement them with bases for freestanding vertical placement (using the optional AudioSource AST-Base set) or even custom-fit floor stands (the optional AST-Stands).
The AST 220S satellites are sealed (acoustic-suspension) 2-way speakers, each using two 4.25-inch woofers and a single poly-treated silk-dome tweeter. With their 90 to 20,000 Hz frequency response (+/- 2.5 dB), the speakers offer a bit more bass than many satellites, and their performance is easily enhanced through the use of a stand-alone powered subwoofer (such as the AudioSource AST-SUB10) for dedicated ".1" low-frequency surround effects and deep-bass musical tones.
AudioSource recommends using the speakers with an amplifier or surround receiver producing anywhere from 15 to 200 watts per channel (RMS).

Good, but not great........2007-05-14
These are good for the price if you are putting your system together on a tight budget. The picture makes them look black and the desription said "charcoal grey". I don't think that they are charcoal, more like a pewter color. So for those of you tring to have everything match you may have to paint them. The awkward dimensions fit perfectly for what I needed. Just wondering if I had used two of the 220C instead if they would be any clearer or if it is just the same speaker with the logo on the side of the grill inseated of the bottom.

Buy the Service Plan!!.......2006-09-24
I have had this monitor (in beige) for 3 1/2 or 4 years. I thought it was great until about 2 and a half years after I got it. Which was when the lightboard went on it (screen was completely black as if it was turned off, but the power light on the monitor worked as if nothing was wrong). Luckly, I had a 3 year warranty on it. I sent it off to Acer and had it back quickly with a note telling what was wrong/what they fixed, and that the new lightboard only had a 90 day warranty. Sure enough, after about 5 months, the new lightboard went again. I still haven't sent it out to get fixed because it's more than I care to spend to get this monitor fixed, especially since there seems to be a good chance that it will just die again. So I'm saving my pennies for a new monitor. I will definatly buy from a different company before I buy another Acer product (also have had problems with hard drives dieing in my Travelmate Tablet PC from Acer). Buy the Service Plan is you want this monitor!!!
Great monitor!!.......2006-04-26
I had just bought a second computer to load linux on and was using a CRT. I have to say this monitor is definitally worth the money. It is so bright and so much clearer than my CRT. If I had more money I would buy one for my parents too. Only con is that it does not have DVI but I just went to radioshack and got an adapter.
generally a pleasure but hard on the eyes.......2006-03-18
I'm writing this as a non-techy. For the first couple of days I fiddled with the brightness becuae I found the factory settings were too high. It hurt my eyes. I found the controls non-user friendly and only mananged to turn the brightness down through trial and error.
nevertheless, I'm happy with the purchase. Colour is accurate and not overly sharp and I really like the size and weight of the monitor. I actually would have given it 3.5 if I could.

Good monitor for the price. No dead pixels and brightness is good. However, I can't get a true red. The red looks like a red orange.
