Edge-driven textile-dome tweeters - these are not commonly used w-domes, but full edge-driven domes like those found in better home audio speakers. The benefit of this increased voice coil size is increased power handling and reduced distortion at high output levels. This technology also allows for better integration with the mid/woofer. The motor structure found in each Reference model is longer than that found on competing models. This longer motor structure uses a longer voice coil and taller surround. The result is longer X-max which delivers more bass output. To ensure proper imaging, the 6802cf utilizes a patented rotating tweeter (patent no. 6, 002, 780). So even if the speaker is mounted down low by your leg, the soundstage can be brought up to your dash.

Great Speakers.......2007-07-25
My first set of infinity speakers and the quality is amazing. Sound: awesome highs, I had to turn down db adjustment on the tweeters in the front door and the base is great as well. Be warned, there is are external cross-overs that come with these speakers that have to be mounted somewhere and installed. The cross-overs are relatively small but did make for extra unexpected work.

I bought a pair of these for my 2001 Honda Civic, I installed them myself in the front doors. Civics are always difficult as far as audio installment comes, and these speakers were no exception, the mounts they include with this set allow the tinsel leads to touch up against my factory mount clips, causing the current to ground. I had to wrap my speakers opening in duct tape to prevent grounding, and my door panel doesnt quite fit the way it used to.
Apart from installation, these speakers sound fantastic. They handle minimal bass better than i expected, and the mids and highs are crisp and clear. Though I don't have a sub yet, i'm sure these speakers will complement my subs very well. They sound just as good as any component speaker I've ever heard, but don't expect TOO much bass. After all, subs are there to handle bass, not 6.5"s.
All in all, these speakers are a great buy for anyone looking to ditch their stock speakers and get some great mid and high range sound. Make sure you know what youre doing if you install them yourself.

OK speakers, poor adapter bracket.......2007-07-19
The speakers sound fine, the little button on the center tweeter didn't make any difference to my untrained ears. My factory speakers were blown so anything would have sounded better. I was mounting these speakers in a '99 LHS front door, so your experience may vary. Infinity thoughtfully supplies an adapter bracket which has 2 holes and 1 slot lining up to the factory speaker holes. There are 2 problems with this bracket: 1) It is too thick, I could no longer put the speaker grille back on the door; and 2) The smaller holes for the speaker mounting were too big for the supplied bolts! A better design would sandwich the speaker between the bracket and the door, then you wouldn't even need the smaller attaching bolts. I ended up throwing the bracket away and drilling directly into the plastic door panel to attach the speakers.

Be Sure You Have Somewhere to Place Them.......2007-01-20
I'd been using Polk RTi 38s for some time in a large livingroom, and although they are nice, mellow speakers they certainly aren't up to handling 500 square feet. The Polk floor standing speakers are too expensive for me, so I finally decided to try the Infinity 360. As others have written here, the 360 is a bargain, and Crutchfield is highly recommended for swift delivery.
I did notice that the midrange drivers and even the tweeters did need to settle in, but after a few weeks they really did sound sweet. I do have them hooked up to a home theater system with the RTi 38s, Polk center, and Sony SA-WX700 sub (I don't know why people spend a lot of money on subs---if you have decent mains you don't need much low end help, and a cheap one like the Sony provides more oomph than I need), but they're mainly used for music: classical, jazz, and some rock. These speakers handle it all with ease.
My only negative comment to make is that these things are beasts; they are black, they are large, and unless you like a modern-techno look, they are UGLY. When I unpacked the boxes my first reaction when I saw how imposing they are amid our livingroom decor was to exclaim, "My wife is going to KILL me." Obviously she didn't, but the speakers were not a pleasant topic of conversation for many weeks around here. I say this because a potential buyer for these speakers does need to take a hard look at their home and furnishings and decide if the presence of these monoliths is something they can live with. If anyone has any ideas---ANY---about how to make 40" high black boxes inconspicuous in a livingroom I'd love to hear them. Lastly, people with toddlers should probably not allow the kids near these units unless they bolt the speakers down in some way---definite tipping hazard, particularly on carpet.
Update: We mediated the decor aspect by putting plants in front of them.

I needed a pair of speakers for my stereo system, under 5 bills, so after doing some research, I settled on the Infinity 360's and was not dissapointed. The sound is incredible, and clean. I'm using a higher end Yamaha amp with 50 watts per channer output to power them. By the way I got them from Crutchfields because of their excellent customer service and also got free shipping.Probably the best speakers in this price range.
Excellent value for money !.......2005-12-20
Bought a pair of infinity 360s after searching and comparing several speaker sets. Bottom line for me was these were the best speakers under $500. Plus, Crutchfield, where i bought them from (btw they are an excellent vendor for customer service - no im not paid by them to say this) had a special where I also got the matching center channel C20 for free.
I use these with a Pioneer VSX809 receiver. I dont have a 5.1 system as I dont really
Pros
- Excellent base. I barely even need my sub now.
- Great replication on the high / midrange frequencies. I have a large room with a high ceiling and there is no distortion at all
- 8 Ohm impedance. My receiver is not rated for lower impedance.
Cons:
- Size, they are quite bulky.
You can certainly get better speakers but not for this price.

I bought these speakers yesterday and can't get enough! I had narrowed it down between the Infinity and the JBL E-80 and the Infinity's sound much crisper and cleaner,from movies to music they are a perfect match for my surround system.

OK, I am old and read Stereophile. Sigh. Saw these in the June, 2005 issue and thought: "Hmmmm?" Clicked on the link and found them on sale for $199.70 and thought: "Mmmmm!" A few days later, they arrived at my door. OK, they are black, with black grill cloth. Sigh.
They sound like air. I have hooked them up to lots of amps, SS and tube, and they sound better than I have ever heard before on all of them. A capella vocals, huge orchestras, jazz trios, Beatles, Frank Zappa, even test tones sound great on these units. I told you I was old. Also eccentric ;) I collect audio stuff.
They have been playing ever since. Currently, I have a digital HT amp driving the left and a 300B SE tube amp driving the right. The music is everywhere.
