COOL TALKING PHONE!!.......2006-08-29

I really do love this phone. It's great that we don't have to get up right away to answer the phone. We wait to hear who is calling before we decide whether to answer. I would have rated it 5 stars, except the only glitch it has, is that it doesn't pronounce the names properly, and that it doesn't say the name in your address book, only what your telephone provider has in the phone book. Mind you, it's funny listening to it try and pronounce odd names!! We get a good laugh sometimes. Great phone, I highly recommend it!!

Perfect phone for Voice Mail users.......2006-04-28

Since I switched to Vonage, I have been ditching my answering machine and using the voice mail feature. This phone has a big VM button that will flash when new vm is received, and its handset also has a lighted band that will flash to notify you of new messages. You can store your vm number and pw strings within the phone memory using its intuitive menu system so you don't ever have to remember anything. Unlike some newer Panasonic phones this unit is completely flat against the wall when mounted on the wall. You can place the handset facing the front (so you can see the call-id before picking it up) or backward. Either way it sits securely and snugly against the base even when hung on the wall. The sound quality is excellent too, and the speakerphone is real duplex. I would never buy another non-Panasonic phone after using its speakerphone. I use the speakerphone all the time, especially when I am cooking or working on the computer. Dual keypad means if the kids misplace the handset (happens all the time) I can still answer the phone. Talking Call-ID is a big convenience factor, although it's not perfect as pronounciation of non-typical names can be sometime laughable. On the other hand, how many us humans can pronounce some foreign names correctly? Even though this is a 2.4 gh phone, while used next to my wireless internet router there doesn't seem to be any interference (both are on the same desk). I also mentioned earlier that its menu system is very intuitive. With some other branded phones I often needed to read their manuals just to add names and number to the memory. With this phone (and all Panasonic phones built within the last few years) the menu system is very easy to understand and no manual is needed to program anything (of course, manual is included in case you need it). Oh, one more thing, its redial button can access more than the very last call you made. I think it can go back to the last 5 calls though I don't really remember the exact numbers so forgive me if I am wrong here.

100% Garbage!.......2000-12-24

This thing blows, I have it hooked to my Sony Mini system and it makes more bass w/o it. The bass is not clear, distortion, its all there. DO NOT buy this garbage. If you want a real test to see what a piece of garbage this is, play number seven on the Matrix Soundtrack, it is Prodigy, Minefields. To bad I cannot rate it zero stars, cause it is that bad!

Great Executive Microsystem Subwoofer.......2000-11-18

I recently purchased a JVC FS-SD5 compact stereo component system (executive microsystem) which delivers 19 watts per channel. This mini system is an excellent product which I installed on my desk in my 11 foot by 11 foot office at home. This mini system has a subwoofer output jack. Since I never owned a subwoofer before, I searched for a small subwoofer for this JVC mini system. I soon learned that most subwoofers are too large and too expensive for an economical mini system in a small room. The AudioSource SW300 appears to be the only "compact" and low priced subwoofer available. This unit is excellent for my small 11 foot by 11 foot office. The amplified power output is 50 watts and it has a 6 1/2 diameter driver. It is 13 3/4 high, 8 1/8 wide, 8 1/8 deep, and weighs 11 pounds. It fits perfectly under my desk. For a good test of this unit, simply play the song Migra (cut number 8) from the Carlos Santana CD titled Supernatural and you will easily see the great performance of this economical, yet quality, space saving unit.

The harsh reality.......2000-09-28

This subwoofer kicks fine but if you wanna FEEL your bass this is not for you, the bass rings in your ear rather than rumble your body. Even on a ministereo (panasonic) it distorts badly when you turn up the volume. I ordered a different subwoofer the next day!Take my advice, this sub will hurt your ears more than it will entertain you. Consider something else.

Steer Clear of this P.O.S.......2006-02-12

I bought one of these. In less than a year I am on my 3rd one. Amazon was good at replacing the first one. It may have been damaged durring shipping. The second one though worked alright for a few mo. than it crapped out. The technical service at Archos is lousy and I mean really, really, lousy. Its in the proccess of being repaired or replaced. It has been the most painfull purchase Ive made sense I bought the Pontiac Fiero or my stocks in Enron.

The trouble with the Archos Multimedia player.......2005-12-19

I bought one of these players to listen to mp3 audio books because I had heard that the player could remember where it stopped and continue from the same spot when turned on again. That turned out to be true, as long as you remembered the right sequence for turning it off.

I didn't use the player long before I had a sudden severe illness and was in long term care for over a year. It was almost two years before I got back to using my Archos Multimedia player, and all that time the battery was not being used or charged. At first I thought it would be revived when it gave me about an hour of play for eight hours of charging. But the playing time rapdidly decreased so that now it won't come on at all.

I have called tech support on the phone three times now and after waiting a long time on the phone, was told they would send me an email with information on how to send the unit in to have a new battery installed (for $65). So far, I have received one email with a web page link which wouldn't work. All of this was just to get an RMA number and an address of where to send the unit for repair.

I apologize for making this so long. The Multimedia player is wonderful if it works, but a nightmare if the battery goes dead. When that happens, you might as well throw the player away. You can't replace the battery yourself, and I'm not convinced you can get any help from Archos.

I'm buying a little Sandisk that runs on a AAA battery. I don't know if it will sound like much, but I know I can replace the battery.

Do Not Buy if you want a Long Term MP3 Player.......2005-08-13

I wrote a review about a month after I bought this (I got a really good deal), I've now had it for about a year. For 20GB I am able to load tons of music very easily thru my Mac. Well things started happening a little at a time with my player over the past few months. You see I am a commuter and I live for my MP3 player while I am on the road for 4 hours a day. First thing, a song, not anyone in particular would be playing and all of a sudden it freezes. I would have to hold the off buttons for about 5 seconds to shut the thing down and start all over with the loading process. It happened a few times at first and now just about every song freezes and I have to just shut it off for good. I have taken a lot of songs off the player, but why do I have to do this when that is what the player is made for. Next thing that happened was the little port to which your ear buds are plugged into has become so loose that I have to hold the plug in a downward position in order for me to hear out of just one plug, for some reason the right plug won't work. I've bought from cheap to expensive earbuds thinking this was the problem but to no avail. Holding the plug in this position also causes some skipping, freezing and shutting off modes. I guess I can contact the manufacturer about this since I got the extended warranty, but if anyone has any advice, I am open!!

I love these, got hooked on the 10gb Jukebox, and tried one of these. I use the optional firewire, and have put a 40GB hard disk out of my old dead laptop in it. Double the space = more fun. Wasnt too hard to do either, had to gently take it apart, swap out the drive and it booted first time. You can tie it to I tunes with a patch from archos.com. I've dropped, kicked, left it in the heat of my truck, still works fine, great for hotels when you put you movies on it and plug it into their TV! Got to love Archos innovation and durability.

Versatile, nice screen, great sound.......2005-05-05

I really like this player. It plays video files in addition to mp3s. The screen is very bright, but put a protector over it, as it scratches easily. Battery life is okay, lasts about 4-5 hrs playing videos. Bulkier than an iPod.

The AT-9006 series is a feature-rich, highly cost-effective Layer 2 Gigabit Ethernet switch featuring six fixed 1000BaseSX or LX (SC) fiber ports and two optional modular ports. The switch is built using a high-bandwidth 16Gbps switching fabric that is coupled with up to 12Mbytes of buffer memory. This high bandwidth switch fabric and buffer combination allows the switch to achieve high-speed performance on all Gigabit ports simultaneously. With the understanding that many networks evolve, the AT-9006 series has been designed both to allow inter-connection with legacy LANs, while also being able to span large distances by inserting a range of optional modular ports. These modules are common with Allied Telesis'' AT-8200XL family of Fast Ethernet switches. The AT-9006 supports two modular ports, each of which is capable of supporting a single Gigabit SX, LX or T port, two ports of fiber Fast Ethernet or four ports of 10/100TX Fast Ethernet.
