Operating on the same 5.8 GHz frequency and with the same digital spread spectrum signal technology as the base system, this handset supplies the clear, consistent connection you rely on every day, with features to spare.
Access to the 50-station phonebook and caller ID/call waiting (with subscription to local service) is provided via the menu-driven three-line backlit LCD. A light-up antenna visually alerts you to new calls and messages, and you can even check your answering machine's messages from the handset.
The handset includes a belt clip and a phone jack for a headset (sold separately) for hands-free conversation, and a locator sound lets you track down the handset even when it's buried in the couch cushions. The vertical design of the charging cradle makes this a perfect addition for bedside tables or small kitchen counters--wherever space is at a premium. Panasonic includes a one-year warranty covering parts and service.

The only problem with these phones (I have 4) is the volume control. I have it set at the highest level and people that call say they can't hear me very well.

Bought the base system and one expandable phone about a year and a half ago. The party at the opposite end has a hard time hearing you - the microphone on the phone is terrible (especially at the price you are paying for this phone). The buttons on the hand set get stuck and are hard to press. Definitely overpaid for quality of this phone. Very dissappointed in the quality.
GREAT PHONE.......2007-08-09
This is an excellent choice for anybody that wants to add phones in places where you don't have a phone jack. Just keep in mind that you need to first purchase the base unit. From there, you can use these add-on handsets anywhere in your house that has power. Linking the handset to the base was very simple. You can then copy your phone book over to and from any other units, program ringers, play messages, and pretty much anythign else you need to do.

I bought this to try karaoke singing on my PC. The sound card on my computer allows me to mix midi/kar files playing on my computer with the input from the microphone and record them. The sound quality from this mic exceeded my expectations. It was far superior to the sound output from the kind of microphones that are meant for voice chat over the internet. I am no professional singer and this mic was well in keeping with my budget.
