The audio on the receiver is really bad. The voice tone you hear is very harsh and it is difficult to hear the person speaking to you.Every adjustment I've tried doesn't help the problem. I often have to ask the person I'm talking to, to repeat what they said. It seems that the person I am speaking to has no problem hearing me on his end.
Talk about basics...What good is a phone that has poor reception? I don't know yet whether or not the problem can be corrected with a replacement handset. Also I was not made aware that this telephone needs to be near an electrical outlet in order to function. V.S.Simon, Houston,Texas

I was looking for a coreded phone that I could plug my standard headset into. I went to Staples to see which phones had this capability, and the Panasonic KX-TSC14B did, and at a reasonable price. Please note that I did not require a 2-line phone; it seems that all phones with a headset jack (at least at Staples) were 2-line phones.

I purchased the phone and was disappointed. For some reason it made my headset sound very hollow. As the previous reviewer noted, there is no mute button -- I guess I should have realized that sooner. The other annoying "feature" was if I had the headset plugged in, the calls were always routed to the headset; even when I picked up the handset! I could not figure out how to change this behavior.

I returned the phone and started my search again. I found a company that makes great Home Office phones... Aastra. I HIGHLY recommend their phones... or at least the PT-470 which I wound up purchasing. They also make 2-line phones. Do a Google search for "Aastra".

So corded phones have now joined the ranks of junk "consumable" electronics along with hair driers and toaster ovens? In my search for a decent 2 line corded phone with caller ID, I purchased and with great disappointment returned 2 AT&T models (once the gold standard of all phones!)and finally, several months into the process, exhausted and desparate, settled on this Panasonic. Unlike the AT&Ts, all of the features work, but there is no mute, no reserve power supply (for shame!)and the LED screen is impossible to read from any angle except from directly above. I do not recommend this or any other two line phone. The situation is pathetic!

What does it do?.......2007-01-12

Loaded fine. Tried to use it, but it never worked. Canon help desk, didn't help. I thought it was to allow reading bar codes printed on documents being scanned and then use the data to create a file name. It didn't work and Canon kept saying I should have some third party software. Then what do I need this software for?

Good basic dvd recorder.......2006-03-22

This is a nice recorder for + R format. It works in the US and overseas. It plays and records in PAL and NSTC. You can record 1,2,4 or 6 hours per standard DVD disk. Excellent for converting old family VHS,Beta, DV or Mini DV tapes to DVD. It will also record directly on dvd from your video camera. The only reason I did not give it a 5 rating is that it gets stuck sometimes in the menue and you have to unplug the unit and plug it back to go back to normal operation. Excellent buy for the money. I have three units and they all work fine.

STAY AWAY!.......2005-12-02

The ONLY good thing about this machine is its sound quality (5.1-very good). Beyond that, the machine is a piece of junk. The remote is big and clumsy and not user friendly. You must stand within 5 meters and less than 30% from the machine in order for it to work. Some menu options are written in broken English and are sometimes VERY confusing. Once you set up any timed recordings (the whole point of the machine), this power symbol pops up on the bottom right hand of the screen and STAYS there regardless of what you are doing...watching a recording, a purchased DVD, or even the TV cable through the player. It is not a warning to turn off your machine for a recording either, because it's there even if you are not due to record anything for another day or so. If you are performing an action on the player, like using zoom during a movie, the action word stays on the screen and will not go away. The machine locks up repeatedly, and you must hold down the power button in order to get it to work again. It also gets EXTREMELY hot, so much so that I worry for the equipment around it. The recording quality is very poor, looks worse than a VCR except on "HQ" mode, which only allows you 1 hour of recording time. Manual is also in broken English, and not very clear. There is a backup memory for the timed recordings if it gets unplugged, but the clock isn't saved, so nothing will record on time anyway! I must say their customer service answers quickly, but unfortunately they are unable to help with these problems, as they are part of all the machines. DO NOT BUY! I will be returning mine.

Stopped working after 5 DVDS.......2005-11-29

[...] I used it to record about 5 dvds from my old VHS cassettes. The instruction manual is definitely not the most user-friendly. However, I was able to start using the unit without much delay. The problem started after day 3 when I tried to stop a disk that was being recorded upon. The display said something like "cannot stop recording". I finally unplugged the unit to make it stop. Then I realized that the unit had stopped recognizing any disk and kept saying that all disks (prerecorded ones or the ones thatI had recorded earlier) were blank. Spoke to customer service (you have to try a few times to get thru to someone) and they said the read/write haead was probably malfunctioning. They are going to email me a shipping label to send the unit back for replacement. Shall provide an update on the new unit, if and when I receive one.

CD/MP3 playback became unusable within 1 week because of periodic static.......2006-08-10

Within the first week or so of use, the CD playback on this system became unusable. When playing a CD or MP3 disk, every few seconds the player injects a burst of loud static on top of the audio playback, thus rendering the CD playback so annoying that the system cannot be used. The display and controls all look as if the unit is working correctly, but the audio results demonstrate that it is not. This happens with every disk we have tried, so it is clearly a malfunctioning system, not an isolated case of one damaged CD.

Too good to be true.......2006-03-17

This Audiovox system looks great, especially for the price... but alas, sometimes you really do get what you pay for. I received a defective player that buzzed like a distant radio station, ALL THE TIME- even when playing CD's. I guess I should had heeded that other guy's advise, I just thought HIS particular one buzzed. Oops.

Horrible hiss obscures the sound. Not just quiet moments in songs, but throughout any signal there's a high hiss. Not a speaker problem, either, as the same was true listening on headphones. I'm not an audiophile and I'm not picky, so this is not a review by some obsessive nitpicker: the noise reduction is nonexistent; the hiss is immediately obvious. I opened the box, listened through speakers, listened through headphones, put it right back in the box and returned it. No sound system should have this much noise.

Gave this as a present to my dad. He researched what system he thought I should buy for over two months. Now that it has arrived he says it is unquestionably the best system money can buy for under $100.00 (maybe even under $200.00)! Fabulous sound, excellent reception, plug in the headphones and you are in heaven! He highly recommends this system.

The size is micro, but not the sound........2005-09-20

The size of this micro system was perfect for the space I had available. It's very short, easy to put in just about anywhere. The face of the player opens, and that's where the cd goes (cd stops playing when open, and doesnt start back at the same place). The headphone jack is at the top, which is very convenient, just dont do like I did, and get the cord caught in the door, for previously mentioned reasons. This player is.. one of the best I've ever owned. The sound is great too.

Great set...Awesome picture and sound.......2003-12-30

I bought this T.V. on Amazon about five months ago. I bought it to replace a Samsung television that kind of internally blew up. I looked around quite a bit for a good yet inexpensive television. When I saw this one I was a little worried about getting an eletronics product from a company I have never heard of (I have regretably done it before). After five months of EXTENSIVE use I have nothing but good things to say about this product.

I use it primarily to watch DVDs and VHS tapes. The picture is extraordinarly clear with very little glare when I put a light up to it (there is no more glare than any other television would have)

The sound is as crisp as I could ever want from an unaltered television. I was originally planning on setting up a small and subtle sound system to the T.V. but its stock sound quality convinced me that doing that would be unnecessary.

I use the sleep timer every night and change the sound settings to allow me to fall asleep easily without being awaken by loud moments in movies or shows.

Overall this television set has pleasantly surprised me. I was originally looking for a T.V. that would simply work and not fall apart, instead I paid much less than I thought I would and got so much more.

Terrible picture.......2003-06-11

I thought I'd save a few pennies by purchasing this TV, and was intrigued by the flat screen and 24" size, but now I'm stuck with a TV that has poor sound, poor resolution, and poor color. Spend the extra few dollars and go with a reputable brand.

More bang for the buck.......2003-05-11

I bought this animal at the grocery check out. It was among the candy bars and magazines. Donýt worry it was not impulse. I needed a TV with all the impute and output formats and this one fit the bill. I can not believe you get all this for the price. It installed in two minutes (would have been faster if I hadnýt dropped the included remote batteries.) I tested it with both cable and DVD. Before purchasing I read the manual and found that ther3e are many other features to explore. Most important for me was the build in sound as I did not want to set up an elaborate sound system. I do get some glare from the overhead lighting, but it is practically in front of it. You will also have to like the silver color which goes in my chrome and glass room. The remote is well designed and has room for fat fingers. I could go on with all the pluses but I do not want to bore you. I think Iýll just go back to watching it.

Best Buy for Price & Features.......2003-04-29

I bought this TV for my roommate more than 8 months ago. We saw it in a store where we could compare audio and video performance with more than 12 other TV's of the same size. The picture was crisp, sharp and bright. The audio was also very good. The performance compared favorably with that of TV's 3x the price.

Things got better after we brought it home. In addition to many features that most TV's now have (sleep timer, etc.) it has 2 features I have not seen before. You can not only customize the video presentation, you can customize the audio as well. Now I can do this on my big, expensive tuner, but the settings on this TV are unique and most helpful. **If you like to fall asleep with the TV on or are suffering from mild hearing loss there is a setting that brings dialog to the fore and minimizes loud noises like explosions, musical crescendos and engine sounds.** This feature is also helpful in cleaning up the often-muddy soundtrack on videos of old films.

I have read a few reviews of other Apex products that mentioned difficulties with service or reliability, but so far (knock wood) this TV has done a great job and i would not hesitate to recommend it to others.

WOW!!!.......2003-02-25

I just bought this wonderful television last week, I love it so much. The sound is awsome, you can here a pin drop. There is no glare and the screen's picture controls ae outstanding. What I really like out of all the other things is the built in V-chip so that I can set limits on my children's veiwing. I give this T.V. 5 out of 5
