This phone was WAY under my expectations based on my experience with the SoundStation at work. This phone was as bad as the junker i've had in my closet for years that cost no more than $30 at WalMart.

My main complaints:
* I was frequently told that I sounded like I was in a tunnel.
* The initial part of what I said when I spoke was clipped.
* And the phone would chirp every few minutes for no apparent reason.

Do not waste your money on this phone.

Good conference phone, but ..........2005-02-24

I got this conference phone at a good price. It is quite expensive for home use.

Pro:
* It can be loud.
* When someone in the house pick up the phone, it makes a short beep. Great for monitoring.
* Cord is long. Great when you want to extend to other table.
* Got a RCA jack if you want to record it.

Con:
* It does sound like you are inside a big tunnel. Isnt all speakphone like this? Who can tell the difference if both are using it.
* Too expensive.

I use it for my SOHO and it works great. I do not understand who other users have posted negative comments on this product. It works great, the sound quality is pretty good for the price. Soundstation with mics is better, but also three times as expensive.

Don't waste your time.......2004-05-28

I purchased this phone thinking it was similar to the SoundStation 100, the difference being this one is newer, sleeker, and cheaper... I was wrong.

The sound quality is terrible. I could not hear a person speaking from a handset without clipping. When I spoke, others said it sounded like I was in a tunnel, or very far from the mic. This was in a room about 10x12. They said it is for small rooms... Like a closet perhaps?

I am going to step up to the SoundStation 100... Which has much better reviews. I'll review it there...

Step up to SoundStation.......2003-07-28

I bought this phone hoping it would be similar in quality to the polycom soundstation phones we use at work. It was not.

When I use the phone, I often cannot hear the first half sentence of the other party when they begin speaking. They complain that I sound like I am in a huge room, and can't hear me if I get more than a foot from the unit.

I am most disappointed.

The IW6S in-wall speakers from AudioSource are designed to accurately reproduce music from today's demanding digital signals. In-wall speakers are designed so that the wall and the space behind it actually become the speaker cabinet; as such, the speaker depth is only 3 inches. Mounted flush to the wall, they require absolutely no floor space. This discrete, compact format is ideal for applications where traditional speakers would be impractical or impossible--or simply unsightly.

In-wall speakers may be used independently where space is a consideration, or to bring music from your living-room system to additional rooms in the house. I installed these as surround right and left in the basement home theater drop ceiling - they were light enough to require minimal support besides the tiles, boxed in the cavity for extra base. Template was spot-on, everything sounds great. Still need a sub-woofer, though. Used IW8S for the fronts for a little extra oooomph.

Much better than TV Speakers.......2006-03-21

I have two connected to the speaker outs from my Panasonic professional 42" Plasma TH-42PWD8UK. They installed very easily and sound pretty good driven by the 8 watt per channel output from my TV. They get much louder than my wife will let me listen to, and music sounds very good. I thought they would have more bass, but it really isn't noticeable watching most broadcaset TV. If I upgrade to 5.1, i'll buy three more of these. Painted the wall color they are certainly visible, since the bezel around the speaker is 1/8 inch thick, and lights case a shadow. I am very happy with them (and my wife is happy with the price).

Good Product, Bad Info........2005-09-02

I ordered these speakers to replace existing ones. I tried to be very careful about ordering them because I needed them to replace existing speakings in existing wholes. The specifications of the speakers indicated that they were the exact match for the current ones. However, when I received them, the frames holding the speakers was too big for the current space and I had to return them. I'll try again later...

Right for the price.......2005-04-10

We installed these speakers in the living room and dining room of our new home. Install was a snap, and the speakers are great for ambient music. Our builder offered the same speakers through their installer at about twice the price.

If you're looking for VERY LOW priced speakers for nice background music, these are a perfect choice (and much better than the smaller Audio Source speakers). In response to some other reviews, if you're looking for something with lots of bass, then why are you considering a low cost in wall speaker?

But I do. So I went out on a limb and bought this pocket electronic dictionary and now I use it all the time, nore often even than my other regular dictionaries. I just wish I had bought it sooner. I haven't even used all the functions yet, there are so many. My next purchase will be more "bookchips" to expand its utility further.

I bought this device before I joined my schoolarship in the uinted States. it is perfect,for Arabic speakers who seek help in english terminology of their feild of study. It is not designed for English speakers wishing to learn Arabic. It has many advantages and features. My daughters use the game sections which is highly enriching in English vocabulary for a 5 year old. the voice feature was quite helpful in learning the proper pronuncitation of the words. If I couldn't find a word in the Mawrid I would easily switch to Merriam Webster with a press of a button. Very easy to use and has more in it that I haven't yet explored. It is also benefecial for Arab tourists visiting an English speaking country or France. I'm totally satisfied with it and would have even given it a 6 star!

I bought this product for my wife who wanted to learn how to speak arabic, but later found out that the dictionary only pronounces english words with a heavy accent ! don't get me wrong , this product is perfect for arabic speakers who are looking for a practical , precise 2 way dictionary , the included french dictionary is also a plus but i would have been much happier with the product if the speaking feauture included arabic as well as english .

This small unit will filter up to five amps of 120-volt electricity. Install this filter between a noisy electrical device and the AC lines. The unit, when installed close to the noise-generating device, will prevent electrical line noise pollution for the rest of the house. It is most commonly needed on High Pressure Discharge lighting (HID) and fixtures with electronic low-voltage transformers. Some fluorescent light ballast transformers can also produce noise. Use this filter with X10 receivers to fix bothersome problems. If you can turn on an X10 device remotely, but not turn it off, then this filter will help. When the device is on, (and generating noise), the X10 receiver can't "see" the X10 off signal because of the noise. When the device is off, there is no noise, so the command is easily recognized on the AC lines. Install this filter as close to the noise generator as possible. It needs to be installed between the X10 receiver and the device being controlled. Please note that the filter will NOT WORK for two wire wall switches that do not have a neutral wire. If installed on two-wire switches, it will also filter out X10 signals. See the wiring diagram on the right for more information.
