Sure, they work fine (thus 2 stars instead of 1), but toner is a crock. These guys sell the machines at a loss to make up their profits in the consumables (toner) and that is lame.

I buy a new cartridge when I have to, but I refill (or send it off to be refilled) whenever possible. Spending this much for a toner cartridge makes me cry, and we copy on the lightest legible setting.

BC-20 Cartridges.......2005-09-13

Over the years I have used about a dozen BC-20 ink jet cartridges. They do not refill well, so I gave up early on that approach to economy. I have had two new cartridges that were dry right out of the box, and one that was electrically non-functional. I try to buy these things as cheaply as I can because I figure one out of four will not work. However, when they do work, they are excellent and last a looong time.

I love canon. They don't install chips on the ink carts that flasely report when the tank is empty. So with canon you get to use ALL the ink you paid for.

Good reliable camera.......2003-04-02

I've had this camera for over 2 years now and haven't had the need to upgrade it. It takes clear pictures and the 3x optical zoom comes in handy. Memory is a steal nowadays. With a 64mb card, I can take ~150 fine pictures. I print photos at around 4" X 6" and they turn out fine. Perhaps I'll upgrade to a camera with a movie mode and tv out capability, but for a beginner that just wants a simple point-and-shoot or someone new to digital photography, I'd recommend the Finepix 1400.

I bought my Fujifilm 1400...a year ago. It was the best purchase I ever made. It's easy to use, compact, and accesories are easy to find. The pictures are fantastic, I have to blow the pictures up to the point of ridiculous in order to see pixtels. when I call up a picture, it fills my SVGA screen in it's entirety with a crisp, clean photograph. It's memory cards (SmartMedia)are cheap & easy to find. Since I bought my camera, most of my family have bought digital cameras. And the others are planning to buy one.

Cheap Construction.......2002-11-13

I purchased this camera based on the glowing reviews. The picture quality is good but the quality is sub par and shoddy. The lens cover jammed. Once that was resolved, the focus jammed and the lens will no longer focus.

As far as I am concerned, Fuji Digital products are not value for money and cheap construction that are in the same category as similar sub par cameras made in China.

Very disappointing and did not live up to the Made in Japan reputation. Sorry, I am disappointed. Just my two cents. If you are looking for a disposable camera good for about a year maybe, Fuji Digicams fit the bill, otherwise stay awayl

Fuji FinePix 1400 Failure.......2002-10-26

I purchased the camera Jan 2001. It worked great until the on/off function switch developed an intermittent problem. Also, the USB cable connector on the body has worn and must be clamped to download pictures. The camera is no longer useful. The repair from Factory Service is going to cost $100.+ This is not acceptable for this product. I will never buy another Fuji with its cheap parts that wear out.

My Opinion.......2002-03-19

I have upgraded from a 1400Z Finepix to a 2800Z Finepix; the reason I stayed with Fuji when I upgraded is because of the 1400Z. It is a a very good camera and the price is very reasonable. It takes excellent pictures and is easy to operate. I highly recommend the Fuji Finepix 1400Z.
