"Not business' fault but this product is terrible. I should have done more research on w/o chip. Probably my ignorance but removing the chip from the canon ink cart and adhering it to the generic brand was a huge FLOP. Total waste of my time and money."

Generic cartridges should be cheaper.......2007-04-15

Without a chip, generic cartridges can be bought for as little as $2.00 a piece and most places give you instructions on how to take the chip off an old cartridge and how to fool the printer. If you're going to spend more than $2 or don't have the old chip, get an original. Don't ever spend this much for one without a chip.

Not compatible with MP800.......2007-01-16

You know the old saying: if the price sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I am not sure about the other printers listed for these cartridges but do not buy this brand of cartridges (G&G) for Canon MP 800 unless it has the chip. The printer will not recognize the cartridges without the chip. This was a big waste of time and trouble for the seller and the buyer. Before advertising on Amazon the seller should have should have tested the cartridges instead of taking the manufacture's word (G&G).The seller in this case did give me a RMA number to return the cartridges. I will have to wait and see if they credit the returns on my credit card.

GARBAGE.......2007-08-16

I just threw away 5 of the cartridges. My pixima 6600d does not recognize the cartridge. I did everything correctly and after trying at least 5 different cartridges I threw them away along with the unopened ones. Total waste of my money.

Works for my MP800.......2007-05-16

Original I saw other reviewers' opinions and didn't order from Amazon's sellers. So I went to other website and ordered other compatible CLI-8 ink cartridges for all colors, cyan, magenta, yellow, black and the PGI-5 Pigment Black for my MP800 printer.
Then when the items arrived, I found out they were made by G & G, the same manufacture as this. I thought I wasted the money since other users
said it didn't work for them but I still tried those cartridges I ordered.
I removed the chips from original Canon cartridges and installed one by one on the new cartridges, it was easy to remove the chips from Canon's cartridges.

For the chip installation, there are two types cartridges that use different methods to affix the chips.
One uses the double side tapes, you need to use the tape to stick the back of the chip and insert the 2 tiny holes of the chip onto the cartridge's 2 tiny poles to affix it.

The other doesn't use tape, the cartridge has bracket to affix the chip.

Either way, they are easy to install.

Next, I put all 5 cartridges to the printhead and see the light blinking
for all 5 cartridges, then I know the printer recognizes the cartridges like the printer manual said.

Next I printed 2 4X6 photos and compared with the Canon OEM ink, I couldn't tell the difference.
Then I am afraid the ink would clog the printhead, I checked printhead and printed out the printhead pattern and it was good.

So I am sure they were working well so far, still there was something in my mind that they were too good to be true, then to clear my doubt, I printed 30 4x6 photo all at once the see if the ink cartridges really work that good, surprisingly, they were gooooooooooooooooooood.

I was worried.
I spent minutes to install and hours to print tons of photos and I am
confident to say they work as good as you imagine.

I hope my review helps you to decide if you want to compatible ink or not.
To me it worked out perfectly.

Not recognized by printer and leaves you a hand full of ink!.......2007-02-20

First...the shipment was delayed and the company has to send an apology letter for the error in shipment. I was excited when it came. Then I tried to take the chip from the old ink cartridge and paste it in the new one (pain in the ....). then when I inserted in in my canon PIXMA iP6600D, the cartridge cannot be recognized. I took it off and repositioned the chip and thas when i noticed that my hands are now full of ink oozing from the cartridge.

I try to save some money in buying this ink but turned out to be a mistake. I learned my lesson, but what I cannot comprehend is how Amazon can tolerate this "junks".

So folks.....avoid...avoid...avoid!

Did Not Work!.......2007-09-12

These did not work in my Canon MP830 printer. The tanks require tiny chips be removed from the old tanks and clipped into the new tanks. I am an electronics engineer and work with chips but this was not an easy task. After installing the chips in two tanks the printer would not recognize the tanks and gave an error message. All I got after a hour of frustration was ink stains on my hands.
