The watch lets you store 300 pages of either Telememo (names, telephone numbers) or Schedule-memo (messages, months, days, times) data with up to 8 digits and 12 numerals per page. A built-in keypad facilitates data entry, and its EEPROM (electrically erasable programmable read-only memory) retains your data even when the battery goes dead. So don't worry: you'll never have to retype it all.

Your eyes will like the DBC310-1's electro-luminescent backlight with afterglow, making it easy to read anywhere, anytime. View time in either 12- or 24-hour formats. CASIO DBC310-1 DataBank Men's Watch.......2007-08-13

I have been wearing a DBM-150 for the past 10 years and needed a new replacement Casio DataBank watch. I am disapointed in the DBC-310-1 because you can only input 8 characters per line, but you can input 16 characters, double the amount, in the DBM-150. I guess this is how Casio can say they have 300 pages but can only use half of the memory character wise. Also, there is no password secured data input on the DBC-310, but memory is on an EEPROM that is not erased when you change batteries. Otherwise, they are identical; however, the difference is significant. If I could do it over, I would order another DBM-150.

What's Right, what's wrong.......2007-08-09

Have to agree with most everyone's comments about this watch. I've been using them since the first one that had a glued on keypad and very disapponted that Casio has appeared to "moved on" to a data bank watch that looks much more in style, has a metal case and band BUT DOESN'T STORE APPOINTMENTS, the most important item next to the ability to store phone numbers. If they could wrap my present Data Bank 300 into the style of the "new kid on the block" or just add the appointment feature to the new watch I think they'd have a 1/4 million sold in the first three months, I'd be buying three (my brother, best friend and myself). I hate to have to leave my trusty black plastic watch behind when I attend conferences or evening functions but let's face it, it's a plastic watch. Casio, can you hear me? I have the newest watch, sits in dresser drawer - just not as good of a watch for my purposes.

Casio Data Bank 300.......2007-06-26

This is a great watch. I have worn out two prior to this. I have always been rough on watches and this model has held up well. The only bad thing is the band attachment with the little pins. They fail with great regularity and have to be replaced. A better engineered attachment would be nice.

A successor to my DBC-610.......2007-06-14

Before getting this watch I owned two (or was it three?) of the simliar Casio DBC-610 models, which are now officially discontinued but still available. These are the only watches I've owned over the last 20+ years. Some aspects of this newer model (and the similar DBC-150 and DBC-1500) are improvements, but others are not. Here's the scoop:

DBC-310 pros:
1. The backlight is much better looking than the older type, and should require less power to operate. The backlight on my old one has failed completely.
2. Instructions for this model say that the user data is retained when the battery is removed. Not so with the older one.
3. This one has more data storage (room for 300 entries vs. 50) and improved functions such as search capability.
4. The implementation of some controls has been improved. This makes it less likely to accidentally press a button and change a setting.
5. I chose the black plastic case this time rather than the metal-plated plastic case of the DBC-610. The metal plating always wears off eventually, leaving parts of the underlying plastic exposed. This is actually my main gripe about the old model.

DBC-310 cons:
1. The viewing angle of the LCD is different and not as good. I have to rotate my wrist a little too far to see the characters properly.
2. Along with the plastic case comes a resin (plastic) band. It does feel good on my hand, but the standard buckle is a step backward from the hinged latch of the old model.
3. The case is rounder and slightly larger in all dimensions. I prefer the clean, sleek lines of the old model. I also don't like the narrow spacing of the outer two columns of buttons. That looks like a design mistake.

The structure of the keypad is different as well. The old keypad was a flat membrane, but the new one has raised buttons. I won't really know for a year or two if this is an improvement or not.

Both watches have the same type of stainless steel back, and the other general features are pretty much the same.

Summary: One of these models is the best watch in the world, but I'm just not sure which one.

It was either this one or the $5,000 Rolex.......2007-06-06

It is the most powerful watch on the planet with regards to dynamic functionality....but I'm still waiting on the GPS, Ipod and video cell phone to be designed into it....Also bulletproof & waterproof it to at least 100 ft. and always alert you when someone is telling a lie!

Very good watch for the price.......2007-06-08

This is my 3rd G-Shock and my first with the solar feature. I just love the design of it, I must confess I dont need the Databank function because I got everything on my cell phone, what really makes it a big deal for me is his solar battery charging and the auto-light feature which works very fine. I've been driving long periods in the night and when I check the bettery indicator is always full ! Its a good watch and a has a good price !

The solar power of this watch is interesting. The watch came with half a batter bar, but when I went out for a day it just charged itself up.

The watch has amazing features and is built to last. The first thing people notice when you walk into the room is your watch because it looks like an important watch.

This watch is really helpful when shopping or just when you need to calculate something quick. It's handy to have in match class. The buttons stick out so it's really easy to use. Some newer casio watches don't have the buttons sticking out and makes them harder to use. The watch is waterproof and I wear it in the shower to see if I'm taking too long so I'm not late for work. The dual time option is great if you are traveling. The battery also lasts a long time, I've had the same watch before and it lasted over 3 years. The stopwatch is really nice for exercising and the alarm is loud too. Overall a great casio watch.

A good, versitile watch.......2007-01-04

I had this watch many years ago, and I'm happy to have just purchased another. When the battery in the lod one ran out (4 yrs), I was given a different model as a gift, and I was less impressed. I'm glad the casing cracked, and I had a good reason to get my old watch back!

This watch is one of the slimmest profile data memo watches I've seen uot there--half as thick as the one I just got rid of. The battery life is great, the display is easy to read, the adjust button isn't exposed like many others these days. And the feature I like the mose is the on-screen two-week calendar with scrolling alert feature. This is strangley a rarer feature in data memo watches, and it's the one I miss the most. Amall bars appear in the calendar boxes, notifying me of impending scheduled events, and when an alarm goes off, the scrolling message reminds me of what I needed to remind myself! Honestly, I can't believe that feature isn't standard on every watch that features up to 50 programmable alarms!

One draw-back. No indeglow, or whatever they call it now. The screen is *much* harder to read at night due to the small light inside. But I'm not willing to trade the size, the style, and the alarm feature for a better light. This is my favorite watch.

Good Watch, But.......2007-08-26

I have owned casio watches for about 35 years. They like all things get cheaper. The good points on this watch are, the 5 alarms, the spacious data storage, and the time accuracy. I need the alarms to help me remember when to take my blood pressure meds. They use to make the data bank without the calculator with 5 alarms that held 50 data numbers. That's what I had before this one. I really didn't want the calculator. The bad point is the watch case and band connection points are made of plastic. I play golf and like to leave my watch on. The watch band broke off after having it for about 6 months. Lucky thing for super glue. That's how I repaired it. My watch before this one broke in the same place where the pin sticks into the watch case my super glue didn't work good on it that's why I bought this watch.

Great watch, now replaced by the DBC-310.......2007-06-14

Over the last 20+ years I have owned two (or was it three?) of these watches, which are now officially discontinued but still available. A current replacement model is the DBC-310, and I just bought one of those. Other similar models are the DBC-150 and DBC-1500. Some aspects of the newer models are improvements, but others are not. Here's the scoop:

DBC-610 pros:
