We have been very happy with this camera. We bought it a year and a half ago. Large screen. Good pictures. Small size.

Buy extra rechargeable batteries, so you always are ready to put in a fresh pair. The flash will use them up fast.

I selected four stars because I would have liked it to be a little quicker to take the picture, and quicker to charge the flash. You will probably only get those features on a digital SLR at a much higher price, however.

It's hard to complain for the price, the QV-R51 is very good in most ways but I have some gripes. Using the internal HTML album generation, the metadata came out all garbled (must be a software bug). It comes with other bundled software for generating albums offline though, which is adequate (it generates HTML that works with IE Explorer, but not fully with Mozilla). As far as the other bundled software, the autoloader is ok, but they include a lot of other stuff which is junk, you'll waste an hour looking at it and then throwing it away. Just pay a few bucks for better software.
The focus is pretty unstable in movie mode.. the movie feature is just there as a freebie I suppose, but lack of sound and focus limits their usefulness. Usually the snapshot auto focus is good, but it is slightly off often enough (even in good light) that you are forced to zoom in on the image in playback mode if you want confidence that you won't be disappointed with some shots when you get home. It would be nice if it did a zoomed-in review of just the target/focus area for you automatically so you could quickly see if it was good enough without pushing a lot of buttons (manual focus mode does something sort of like this).

My main gripe however, it that it suddenly quit working after 22 days of gentle use. Casio has a one year warranty, but dealing with their customer service is a hassle... it's hard to track down a human Casio rep, and they won't pay for shipping to their service center.

movie with no sound.......2004-09-22

The casio qrv-r51 take wonderful still pictures. I really love the 2 inch screen. The movies look perfect. I rated it a three because the movies have "no sound"! No where in the description does it say "no sound". This is the 21st century. You do not expect to make a movie with "no sound". The owners manual talk about transfering audio files. How do you do that if there is "no sound". Beware the company will not take back or even exchange for a higher priced camera. I love the still pictures. I hate not having "sound". I will purchase another camera. "Not a Casio".

My Newest Obsession.......2004-08-14

I can't say that I am an extremely credible source on the subject, but I know high quality when I see it. The Casio QV-R51 is by far the best digital camera I have ever encountered, and although it has its faults, it is definitely the best around for the extremely low price range. Not only is this camera a 5 mpx gem, the photos (if you have any SKILL to those posting reviews below) come back with incredibly high quality and breathtaking detail. 2560x1920 images and a 2 inch LCD, who could go wrong?

I have had this camera for three months, and I have used it so much that one would assume that I have had it for over a year. So far, after thousands of images, I have encountered no major problems that would ever make me even consider sending it back.

On the negative side, every camera has its faults, the first being that the zoom isn't as large as I'd like, but it works well, so it's not a major issue. Second is that the red eye doesn't work in all cases, but it is not a function that I normally use, so I don't have problems with that either. The majority of the cameras I have encountered have problems with resolving red eye, and I am still convinced that my little sister is cursed with red eyes that simply cannot be avoided. There is also the issue of having video mode with no audio, but seriously, if you really have a need to be taking a 60 second video, it must be something so interesting that audio is not necessary. This is a digital camera, not a video camera, so don't use the function if you're going to be nitpicky about it!

All in all, with the bestshot functions, video functions, manual focus, AA batteries, and every other thing about this camera, faults and all, I still reserve five stars to my newest obsession! Trust me, it will be more than well worth it for the price.

Returned after 2 weeks.......2004-07-22

What can I say... This one disappointed me. I did a lot of research before buying a digital camera and seeing the first 3 reviews I figured it is a good camera.

The good things first. The big LCD is really a plus. It is really difficult for me to go back to a camera, which has a smaller LCD (we DO get used to a good thing too quickly). However it lacked clarity especially in the dark (my friend had an older 3mp-cybershot camera from Sony and the quality was incomparable).

The size is nice.

I expected the batteries to last longer but it was ok. Plus I do have 2 other pairs of rechargeable batteries so it was not a big inconvenience.

The picture quality was OK...Neither nor... some pictures were blurry some were very good... red eye reduction didn't really work on all the pictures. Nighttime pictures weren't that great.

The video without sound that was a really bad one. I understand that this is not a digital camera but what is the use of a video without sound.

The next thing, which convinced me I should return the camera, is the way it looked after a couple of uses. I was really careful with it however after a few days the camera looked as it was used at least for a year. The zoom and the shot button silver paint were wiped and you could see the ugly yellow plastic. I would have expected it after at least a year of extensive use but not after 100 pictures.

As a result I just shipped the camera to Amazon.
Hopefully they will honor the 30-day return policy.

All the Canons with the 4 color systems are Great Printers.......2003-10-04

I own the i850, the i550, and previously the s750. All are FANTASTIC quality printers for both speed and performance. I have been a commercial printer for 20 years and with todays computer technology, I have sold my AB Dick printing presses and now do all my printing on these printers. I run everything for the small office. Letterhead, envelopes, invoice forms, etc. I used to have to make offset plates, ink up the press, and run each color seperately with a lot of messy ink cleanup after every run. Now I press "PRINT" and just keep feeding paper to the printer. These Canon 4 color systems are without a doubt the fastest and least expensive for cartridges on the market right now.

Designed for use with the Audiovox SIR-PNP2 Sirius satellite radio receiver, the SIR-CK1-A is a vehicle docking station that lets you enjoy your Sirius digital radio subscription whenever, and nearly wherever, you go. The shuttle kit is suitable for mounting in cars, trucks, RVs, boats--you name it. Hookup is relatively simple, and you get multiple options for both receiver positioning and audio hookup.

Your Sirius receiver pops right into the docking interface, which fastens to a metal mount with an adhesive base (supplied screws let you bolt it in place if you wish). The docking unit offers connections for a Sirius antenna (included), a terrestrial antenna for FM radio (not included), and 2 minijack .125-inch audio outputs: 1 for FM radio and 1 for Sirius radio (1 minijack-to-RCA interconnect included).

Obviously, if you only have 1 input in your vehicle's amplifier/receiver, you'll feed it the Sirius output. If, like most people, you have no inputs in your car/vehicle stereo, don't worry: the SIR-CK1-A has a built-in FM transmitter. The transmitter lets you simply tune to 1 of 4 FM stations on your radio to hear music from your Sirius receiver, with no cables or other hookups required (apart from the Sirius antenna).

The most complicated aspect of the setup isn't making the required connections. It's positioning the antenna, which needs to be mounted on the outside of your vehicle (it clips firmly to your roof or trunk courtesy of a ferociously strong magnet). This means you'll need a hole, duct, or port somewhere in your vehicle's exterior through which you can pass the antenna cord. The cord itself is about 19 feet long, giving you extra footage for tucking the cord safely and seamlessly between seats, under floor mats, etc., on its way to the receiver mount.

In our testing, we found the kit well suited to the receiver. Proper reception definitely hinges on having the antenna outside your vehicle; don't think you can cut any corners by draping the antenna over your dashboard. Properly affixed, reception was by and large excellent. When it wasn't excellent, however, it was non-existent--such is the all-or-nothing nature of digital radio. If your commute entails driving under frequent overpasses, this may not be the kit for you (though of course your receiver will work in the home using a home docking kit or Sirius boombox).

From a sonic perspective, be aware that sound quality suffers slightly when using the built-in FM transmitter. This is inevitable, as FM radio quality has inherently lower quality than Sirius satellite radio, and listening through your tuner will subject your music to background noise, occasional analog static, and other FM anomalies. None of which cramps the great tunes available through the Sirius service--it remains exciting and highly listenable, irrespective of your hookup mode. --Michael Mikesell

These amps are great. A very good way to work your way up to 5.1, 7.1, or any configuration. Reliable, clean, and a front-panel volume to make balancing a system easy. I am an audio professional, and would recommend these to anyone who needs good sound to grow on (on a budget).

small and versatile but a little hard to use.......2006-11-10

These amps are small enough to hide anywhere and produce clean and loud sound. The ability to daisy chain them together saves power outlets. The lack of a remote means you have to find them and turn them on any time you want to use them. They have an auto on feature but I've never been able to make it work to my satisfaction.

Perfect Amp for my center channel.......2006-10-04

This Amp did not disappoint! Our main Dolby 5.1 audio system has one big drawback: the speakers are all mounted in the downstairs ceiling and my daughter's room is right above them so I can' run them after 7:00pm when she goes to sleep. Problem is, without a true center channel running, my wife and often have trouble picking up dialog from the weak built-in speakers of our 61" JVC HDTV.

The solution was a Midiland ADS 2000 DTS Decoder outputting just the center channel signal to a single AudioSource 5.1A Monoblock and a Polk Audio RM6902 speaker to supplement those weak built in speakers of the 61" JVC. Now we get to have our cake (i.e. hear the dialog clearly from the center channel) and eat it too (still hear the left and right channels where the music and other background sounds are). All without needing to fire up the main 5.1 dolby digital amp.

Best of all, I don't have to get up to turn the AudioSource Amp on: it just turns itself on when I turn on the power to the Midiland Decoder. I can even control the center channel volume with the Midiland remote. Needless to say, I'm a happy customer.

Now for the nitpicking: it sure would be nice if the product was offered in some sort of gray color in addition to black. I don't use enclosures so as to prevent overheating of my A/V components, so the black color of the Amp really stands out from all my other gray & silver devices. Also, the power LED is a bit too bright and calls too much attention to itself.

Nice small, versatile amp........2005-01-16

I use pairs of these in my conference rooms. They provide pleny of power, are small, support both balanced and unbalanced inputs, and the auto-power feature means I don't even have to touch them; when the audio source is turned off so do all the amps.

I recommend adding the EQ25.1 to tune the sound to your room.

good value.......2004-03-11

AudioSource is well known for providing good value for the price and they don't dissapoint with their 5-series amps. There's nothing in its price-range that has similar quality.

The output isn't quite as rich a Bruce Moore 70, but at 1/20th the price, it's a great deal.

Smooth operation........2006-08-30

I used this product with the Archose GMini 220 20GB version which I bought in 2003. Backpacked Europe this summer with both Archos products and did not have any problems. Worked flawlessly with a Sandisk 1GB SD card.

Alternative for Archos.......2006-06-27

I tried to get one of these through amazon and every other website that had it listed. Archos is NOT producing these anymore. If you go to newmp3technology.com they support all archos products. They have an adapter that is a 5 in 1 that works great with my Archos 300. They carry a full line of products. I also purchased the leather case which fits the box like a glove and has a handy belt loop and stand with it. Next will be a new battery! check them out for all your archos needs!

I am using the Archos Adapter to read Memory Stick Pro media. Performance exceeds my expectations on speed and ease of use in transferring data into both a Nixvue Vista portable storage unit and into my PC via a Compact Flash reader. I am very happy I purchased the Archos Adapter.

If you have any of the Archos AV400 unit (20, 80, or 100GB) and you travel a lot taking hundreds of pictures with your digital camera, this is perfect for the following reasons:

1. You can view your pictures better with the bigger screen compared to the ones with the digital camera.
2. You can backup your picture files.
3. You can manage and rename your picture files.
4. BEST OF ALL - no need to buy additional/bigger capacity memory cards. Just dump the pictures into your AV400 unit and your memory card is free again to store new pictures.

Perfect too for sharing files with other PDAs or celfones that use memory cards. Transfer is faster and it will not eat up the onboard memory of the PDA/celfone during tranfer since it is direct to the memory card. But you need to keep it in a protective casing when not in use to minimize particle (e.g. dusk) accumulation that may hamper the reading of media cards.

These option and features was one of the justification for buying an AV4100 and choosing it over the AV700.
