Customer Reviews:
Very Good - Kensington Si670m Bluetooth Wireless Optical mouse.......2007-09-26
I'm very happy with this product. I requestes 5 days delivery and it arrived 3 days after it left the warehouse. So far, I'm happy with the service and product.
Terrific Product.......2007-09-23
I have had this mouse for a little over a month. Set up takes less than five minutes. Responds better than my corded optical desktop mouse. Can continue to use touchpad at the same time. Can adjust speed and settings. There is an on/off switch to conserve battery power - I have left it on and still using the original batteries (over a month). So far, well worth the money. Ergonomically very comfortable. Don't use a mouse pad and reponds great off a pillow or sofa.
Only lacking in software support........2007-09-14
Really, Kensington. If I'm going to pay $50 for a serious mouse, I expect your own OS X software to recognize it. Bad. Very bad.
That's the kind of sloppiness that makes me want to write a scathing review, but in this instance, I can't. This mouse is too solid.
The range on this thing is ridiculously good. Just to test it, I practically went the length of my house away from my macbook, and the thing still worked fine. I haven't once had some of the interference problems that other reviewers have mentioned. I love that I can have my mac on one side of me, while with no line of sight whatsoever, I have this mouse on the other side of my body and it works great. Can't do that without a decent Bluetooth device.
More than that even, comfort is a huge factor. The side curves on this thing fit perfectly into the shape of a thumb, and the slight arch you get into the palm of your hand is a nice touch. Really, you don't want one of those ultra-tiny mice that look sleek in the packaging but cramp your hand up during practical use. Laptop-ers (and most desktop-ers) also don't want bulk. This is the perfect in-between size.
Still not sure on battery life, but I've used this extensively for a week and a half now and it's still running fine. I don't like that it doesn't sleep after inactivity. Now, if Kensington would only produce compatible software, this all may be a different story...
Get on that, Kensington, and I'll gladly revise my rating to 5 stars.
Nice Job, Kensington!.......2007-09-04
We have been frustrated with poor wireless device performance on Windows machines in my office. Using Bluetooth mice and keyboards, even Microsoft brand, has been a failure in most cases (using Windows XP and Dell Latitudes, Optoplex and workstations). Some of the MS and Logitech devices with dongles or pods (not Bluetooth) work OK but are unsuitable for travel. I am accustomed to Mac Bluetooth keyboards and mice that simply work well consistently. We have been using the $20 Kensington PocketMouse Optical Limited Edition model 72218 (with retractable cord)on Dell laptops.
This Kensington mouse has been installed on a Dell Latitude D810 with XP and works very well. To other reviewers, a driver update is available on the Kensington website that allows horizontal scrolling to work on XP.
Don't know yet about battery life but the feel and size are a nice setup for office and yet small enough for travel use. Highly recommended.
Kennsington Si670m better than the Targus AMB03US.......2007-08-17
I bought this mouse after my Targus Bluetooth AMB03US mouse stopped functioning. Just as well, because the Targus would loose the connection with my HP Pavillion laptop FREQUENTLY (hours), many times requiring me to reboot (when switching on and off, or re-discovering wouldn't work). The Kennsington has been MUCH better and only rarely (weekly) looses the connection (and I suspect the HP laptop may be the culprit as switching the Bluetooth button off and back on restored the connection - no sweat). I do miss the slightly better form factor of the Targus and the Targus did glide a bit smoother on my mouse pad - but on a hard surface there is no difference. I haven't really missed the rechargeable aspect of the Targus because the battery life of the Kennsington has been much better, now going on a month for the Kensington vs. a week for the Targus. The side click of the wheel for horizontal scrolling didn't initially work but I found an updated driver at MajorGeeks.com and click the Drivers link and scroll down to K72271 Si670 Bluetooth Wireless Notebook Mouse driver.
