Don't buy this item.......2006-04-11

I purchased 4 of these CD players for my kids for Christmas. Only 2 actually worked. As far as returning them the freight would have been more than the items. I dont think that I will ever look at anything COBY again.

After using it for quite some time, I decided that I wouldn't buy this CD player for $5! For your average music listener who can't tell the difference between good or bad sound, this is perfectly fine. For those who can, the sound is decent. Passable, but not great. I also found it a little flat. (Not as in intonation.)

The button to open the CD player is pretty aggravating. You really have to push it down. Because of the odd angle at which the button is placed, you'll have to put another finger on the CD player or else it'll skid across the table.

Because this has no skip protection, it's really inconvenient. You have to glide across the floor to prevent it from skipping. Even a little nudge can cause it to skip.

I'd suggest doing some research and spending your money on something better.

Crackling.......2005-05-02

The CD player has some problems. First, the sound quality is pretty bad in the headphones and on commerically avaliable ones from Panasonic and Sony. The bass is not good, and treble is somewhat screechy. Secondly, and most importantly, I hear cracks. Not skipping, like the music will stop, just cracks, and a lot! I went to check if it was the CD and it wasn't, it was this Coby CD player.

If you're going to buy a good CD player, why not fork out $20 more for a Panasonic, Sony, Philips, or another good quality brand. If you're gonna get something, why not get something a little more expensive and not have to buy several (which will cost more in the long run) CD players. Why not get a CD player that is better than the rest? DFJ-200, SL-CT582V, the RP models, those are some good examples.

To start this review, I'm not a kid, I'm 14 years old and I didn't want to give my name or e-mail. I hope this advice is helpful to you when you make a decision for a CD player.

This device is very poorly made. The spring to open the CD player broke just after I got it. There isn't any skip protection, so it is hard to walk without it stopping and skipping. When I used this, it scratched a CD around the edges and wouldn't play some even slightly scratched CDs.

The music will sound nice if the CD player is on a desk, floor, or a surface that doesn't move(and if you have a clean, not scratched CD). If you want quality, spend $35.00 for a CD player with skip protection and a higher quality laser to read the CD(it's worth it).

The Basics

Hard Drive: Since the focus is on affordability, this Acer Aspire comes with just a 40 GB hard drive. While this may have sounded gigantic at one time, it is one of the smallest hard drives you'll find in a desktop computer. That said, it offers more than enough room for home office productivity software, storing family photos, and a decent-sized digital audio library.
Processor: A lower-end cousin to AMD's XP processor line, the 1.6 GHz AMD Sempron 2800+ found in this desktop is compatible in speed with Intel's 2.6 GHz Celeron processor. It's speedy enough for everyday computing needs and running office productivity software, but won't be quite enough for higher-end video editing or 3D gaming. Crisp Picture and Other Good Features.......2001-02-28

This is one of the better combination TV-VCRs I have seen. Panasonic and Sony also both make good 13inch TVs. Toshiba's combination TV-VCRs often gets overlooked. However, this is an excellent set and performs equally well. The picture is crisp and sharp. The built-in Digital tracking 4 head VCR makes VHS tapes look very good. You get front A/V (RCA type) inputs with a TV/game switch. The VCR has good high-speed fast-forward and rewind performance. It also has time-shift recording capability and a built-in head cleaner. The front panel features a useful headphone jack. The `White' cabinet design is uniquely handsome and looks better than other competitor models.

Good Quality at a Fair Price.......2000-06-28

We have been quite pleased with the 13" Toshiba TV/VCR. The picture quality is sharp and the color is excellent (better than the others we had researched). The 125 channel cable capability is great and elininates the pesky cable box necessary with our old TV. The front A/V jacks are ideal for a headset so that one person can watch TV without disturbing others in the room.

The VCR works well. Playing tapes is a cinch and recording and setting the timer is straight-forward. The VCR doesn't have VCR+ but for this price we did not expect to receive this feature.

We especially like the size and easy use of the remote. Some remotes we looked at had did not have a muting function or a skip search function. The Toshiba has both.

This is a good small-screen unit for a guest bedroom or kitchen space. we probably would find it too small to be our only TV or VCR.
