Great phone.......2007-05-25

This phone is awesome. WOrks very well, very clear voice quality, and the rocket dial is unique to Uniden Phones. Very cool. Good answering machine with enough volume and clarity to hear it from across the room. Granted you can get a 2.4 or 5.8 gHz phone for $40 and get "amazing voice quality" but this is a great economy phone for college students (myself) as well as people looking to make simple calls. I have not tested the battery life > 1 hr, but up to 1 hr it was perfect.

I have had this unit for over a yr and cannot say anything bad about it.
I have never lost a call. I have walked all over the house and outside and the call never faded. I have moved fr orig area and still in the hills can go outside. Sticking with the 900. I do need a speakphone now, so this baby will go in bedroom and plan on buying a uniden phone with speaker. good buy and dependable.

I was a little hesitant about buying this because of all the bad reviews I read, well I am very glad that I went with my instinct. It is the best phone by far that I have purchased. The battery life is awesome! And it is so user friendly! I highly recommend this phone!

i never write these reviews but felt compelled after buying this piece of garbage. it worked ok for the first few month but then i gradually started hearing more and more crackling and interference. the straw that broke the camel's back was when my fiancee called and i couldn't hear her. when i tried to change the channel it bascially just died. i promptly spiked the phone on the floor into a million pieces. the battery never seemed to really hook up right to the unit, the caller id came up when it wanted to, and the reception was uneven.

save you money!!! buy something else.

Plus: So it comes with caller ID and one mailbox digital answering machine (must haves for small apartment dwellers with space-saving requirements).
Minus: The handset is designed for Frodo Baggins. It is rather uncomfortably small.
On Net: Save yourself the trouble - buy a higher than 900mhz set.

One of the best features of the AirPort is its built - in modem and Network Address Translation (NAT) which allows multiple wireless computers to share a single dial in connection. If you're not up with cable or DSL yet, you can still get a wireless home or small business network going in no time, even if you're not a techie. When connected to cable or DSL, this little guy really shines, fully connects both Apples and PCs and is the coolest looking networking device you'll find. Apple just announced a new version with print server, but the current model AirPort has botth WAN and LAN connectors, so you if you're all wireless now, you can set up a 10BT print server as a peripheral and print off the WAN port. More expensive than some other solutions, but it does more too.

Think carefully before you buy this BaseStation. At the MacWorld expo Keynote on January 9th, Steve Jobs announced a new version of the Airport Base Station which supports 802.11g--boosting the speed from 11Mbps to 54Mbps. The new version also acts as a print server, and the units automatically bridge between each other.

It's also easy to set up. Although I did have some problems
when I wanted it to handle my wired computer as well, I was able to negotiate those with the help of a friend, and without the use of any extra hardware like a router. Once set up the Airport worked great, and even switching from DSL to Cable was a snap. I haven't noticed any range problems, though admittedly I'm not asking for much, and the unit is transmitting through solid walls without any problems.

An excellent camera!.......2003-05-08

This my first SLR, although I'd borrowed others from friends for a while. I bought this right before spending three months driving cross-country and shooting in a ton of different conditions. I hiked hundreds of miles, shot over 50 rolls, and it always did a great job, regardless of whether I was using the manual settings or the automatics ones. The advanced features are easy to use if you just spend a little bit of time reading the instructions. Having been used to older SLR's without any sort of automatic or digital features, I was thrilled with all the options this camera provided.

I think the lens Canon include is somewhat cheap, as it is very lightweight and plastic. I bought a Sigma 100-300mm lens for the camera and it feels much more sturdy and well built than Canon's included 28-90mm. However, Canon's lens never gave me any trouble, it just felt cheap.

I would suggest buying a number of accessories for the camera, such as a tripod, polarizing filter, UVA filter, remote shutter release (to avoid shaking the camera when it's on a tripod and for long exposures), and a larger zoom lens (Sigma makes some great ones that are less expensive than Canon's).

higher end models for reasons such as Plastic lens mount and wide

I love this camera! I take rodeo photos and my action pictures always turn out right! When asked about aperature and f/stop settings, I sheepishly grin and tell people this camera takes care of all the details for me because I set the dial to "P" mode and cheat my way through! Great value and features for beginners.......2002-11-19

I bought this camera not knowing much about cameras but wanting one that would allow me to expand later. I read the manual and knew I'd be using the auto feature most of the time for now. The manual is concise but efficient for beginners. All my pics taken so far have been with Kodak 400 film and are very clear and crisp. The evening shots I took in Vegas were using the pre-set auto feature for darker environments which came out amazing! The vista shots using the pre-set for background shots of Grand Canyon came out spectacular: wide area covered with great detail. It is light weight enough that I walked around Vegas with this on my neck and the battery is still strong after 5 rolls of film. The styling is very updated with the silver body and the 28-90mm lens covered every possible scenario I was interested in taking. The kit I got included (...) a nice Canon canvas case, camera straps, mini-album and battery. Good value for the price. Considered the Olympus IS-50 also but wanted the option of changine lenses later on.

Great camera, research for lenses before buying.......2002-09-28

I'm an amateur photographer an decided to buy this kit because of the camera, the looks, and the fact that I've purchased many times from Amazon and have no complaints about it.

I did some research on the camera and in simple terms this one is great, from full automatic to full manual it has many features that don't come by this price with other brands.

But after more reading and experience I found that what really matter besides your camera skills are the lenses, so my recommendation would be to buy just the camera body and find
a set of lenses that will enable you to get the widest range possible with the same diameter for filters and the price that match your budget. If you find your self loving photography as I did you will also be willing to buy a tripod, the remote switch and some filters ... .

I also recommend the National Geographic Field Guide book, it's great reading, with good tips and great photos.
