Disappointed.......2005-04-10
After 5 years with my old $39 Visioneer scanner, I was excited to upgrade to a newer, faster model. I was anxious to use the slide/negative function. Unfortunately, I was disappointed from the start.
Image quality of the slide/negative scans are so poor that I can't use them. To make matters worse, my particular scanner has a long white electrical band that continually "snags" during scans, jamming the entire scanner. If that isn't enough, today a piece of black rubber with electrical tape "fell" off from somewhere inside (I can see it beneath the glass) and now the scanner won't work at all.
Customer service is no help. Waste of time, waste of money and I've never seen anything made so cheaply! It's been 6 weeks and even the glued-on labels are coming off... I'm hoping this is just a lemon and Visioneer isn't losing their touch.
Waste of time and money.......2003-12-16
I had the same problems as JW reported below. I tried to get it working for hours, and it will not work. Unfortunately, I have to work the same hours that their customer service is open so I cannot get help. This is probably an O.K. scanner if you can get it to work. But if you have problems, Customer service is only open regular business hours M-F and it is NOT a free call. I am returning the scanner and staying away from Visioneer.
Work like a charm.......2003-10-16
The scanner works right away after I plug into my lab top running Windows XP. I especially like the landscape design which is the only one I can find. The only drawback I have found so far is the quality of the film scan is not good enough.
Too Many Errors.......2003-09-06
I tried for hours to set this scanner up. If Visioneer made this one-touch 9020 for exclusive use with Windows XP, then why are there so many errors when installing it? Check out Visioneer's support website for this product. It speaks for itself. If this doesn't work, try this; if that doesn't work, try something else. YIKES!! It may be easy to use once you get it set up but I never got that far. And, to add insult to injury, their tech support number is a long-distance call. Returned the 9020 and bought the new HP PSC 1210 all-in-one. I was scanning, copying, and printing literally within minutes. And, at $99, it is an incredible value.

Aquapac.......2002-09-09
I think the Aquapac is great! I use it so I can go in the water and video tape surfers, and although it's not recommended (Only because you might accidentaly hit the waterproof latch open) I go underwater with it sometimes to avoid waves. Whats great is all of the buttons are functional throught the plastic, and the camcorder can shoot right through the plastic with no problem.
The only problem is the price, unless you think you can make one then go ahead and save your money, but the aquapac is the only thing I could find without getting $$$ diving housing. The Aquapac is 100% waterproof.

I'd disagree that the Aquapac is just a plastic bag. The soft plastic means there's no problem using my handycam in the Aquapack as I can feel where all the buttons are.
The film quality is good, I took it to the beach in Greece for summer vacation and got some great footage.
I'd say its a great purchase for vacations and sports activities, and I even used it for an SLR aswell with no problem.

An expensive plastic bag! Save your money!.......2001-11-20
I received the Aquapac yesterday and what a joke! For that much money I expected something a little more substantial and I was actually embarassed to show it to my girlfriend (yes she laughed) It's nothing more than a clear rubber bag with a nice waterproof seal. You stuff the camcorder into it and film through the rubber. Over time I would expect it to get scratched up to the point where the video quality would suffer even more. With proper care and feeding it should live longer though.
I would pay $20 for this product and be happy with it, at it's current price though it's getting sent back. At this point I think my solution for a dust/splash shield will be to buy some good quality sandwich bags and a lense filter.
The bottom line is if you need something waterproof, spend the extra money to get a good product that will last. You'll be wasting your money with this expensive plastic bag!
