Phone problem with battery compartment.......2007-07-24

The battery compartment didn't hold batteries inside firmly to make good connection - had to correct with duct tape. Works fine now.

I really like my vtechs.......2006-11-08

I've had my vtech phones for about 3 years. Originally I purchased it with 2 handsets, then added a third. Now I am about ready to purchase a few more to replace my other phones in the house (especially since it's easier to connect the base unit to Vonage than modify the home wiring).

The only downside is that if one misplaces a handset and doesn't notice for a day, the batteries will run down and the phone will be a lot harder to find. I'm still trying to find one awol handset! Then again, that's a problem with any wireless device...

Phone great, charger lousy.......2006-10-21

In general, I have had a great experience with this phone. Having speakerphone on the handheld phones has been a lifesaver sometimes, and I've found it to work fairly well (I mean, it's speakerphone and sounds like it, but I've never had complaints using it for a short time in a conversation). I've had no problems with buttons in hte 2 years I've had it. I love that you can page the handsets if they happen to get misplaced (though you have to know which handset is missing, or else try all of them). I get great battery life (which is a very good thing--see below).

My complaint is the charger. I believe I have cared for it well, cleaning the metal pieces that make the connection (I'm not particularly technical) occasionally in case of dust or other build-up. We have two phones. For the first year, both chargers worked great. Then one of the chargers would only charge if we put something behind the phone to change the angle it charged at--this would keep the green light on. About two months of that, and that charger stopped working altogether, so for the last year we've been using just one charger for two phones. Since we live in an apartment, that works fine--it avoids the overcharging problem, to be sure! However, now our single charger is requiring the "special angle", so I'm becoming a little concerned that this really is a pattern in this product, rather than a single "Lemon' of a charger.

Like I said, in every other way, I have been very happy with this phone. But if I can't charge it anymore, well.....

I will make no judgment on the company overall, having used only this one product of theirs.

Great while it works!.......2006-02-07

When I first got this phone equipment, I was delighted. It lasted about six months before fizzling out on me. The speaker phone on the base unit worked fine at first. Now callers tell me it sounds as though I'm in a dance hall ... a dance hall with lousy acoustics. The buttons on one of the hand units don't always work. I punch in a number, only to find that I have to do it all over because one or two of the digits didn't register. Now, one of the units won't recharge properly when seated in its base.

What a waste of money.

I have had a V Tech 5831 for over 2 years now and I only have one problem with it. My phone thinks it is central time so the time is off an hour which really isn't a big deal to me.
As far as charging/battery issues I have nothing but praise for this phone. I think the problem for most people and their phone batteries is they don't know how to take care of them. These battery chargers are primitive. Basically this phone will be recharged from being dead to full charge in about 6 hours. Any time over that it will overcharge the battery. Overcharging will of course shorten the life of the battery. So put the phone on the charger at night and take it off the charger in the morning. Don't leave it charging 24/7. As I have said I have owned this phone for over 2 years and when the low battery signal goes off that means I still have 2 hours of talk time left.
I have yet to encounter any problems with the buttons, but I keep them clean and I don't mash them when I use them.
As far as the company goes I would buy another V Tech phone.

Ok, not great.......2003-06-19

Other reviewers are correct - the auto shutoff pop is *really*
annoying. I actually returned mine for service to see about getting it fixed. I got a different speaker back, with a longer
auto shutoff time. Another problem with this subwoofer is that it is for movies, not tight accurate bass as a substitute for good speakers. I guess for that you should move up to the Newton series.

Great sub (when you consider the price, it's an AWESOME sub). Only complaint is the loud POP it makes in the AUTO setting when shutting down the amp. I just leave it in the ON position, but the power savings would be nice.

If you're an occasional photographer, the disposables should work fine. However, we've found that most people end up purchasing the Canon rechargeable battery kit as a long-term solution.

The Canon PowerShot S10 bundle comes with a comprehensive software package that is fully compatible with PC and Macintosh computers and includes Adobe PhotoDeluxe and PhotoStitch for both Mac OS and Windows. The Cannon S10 was the first digital camera I have ever owned, having bought it close to two years ago. I decided to up-grade to a higher megapixal camera so a few days ago I bought the Minolta 404. I wanted a camera that I could add audio to the pics so I would know when I downloaded the pictures what pictures they were. Seen one mountain, seen them all but which is which? I figured the added audio would solve that problem. Second, I wanted a camera that was small enough to carry on my belt but able to shoot short movies, like when you see wildlife walking. So I spent big bucks, bought the Minolta 404 took some pictures with it at the settings I have my Cannon set to and was very disappointed in the quality of the pictures. I just arrived home after returning the Minolta 404.
I may not be able to add audio to my pictures with the Cannon S10 but one thing for sure, it shoots far superior, cleaner and clearer pictures then the Minolta. Lets face it, audio would be nice but quality pictures is what I really want and the S10 Cannon is the best so far. By the way, the Minolta had 4 megapixals and the Cannon has only 2.1 but the pictures of the Cannon are a lot better. I have several photos blown up to 8 X 10 and they are great. Don't buy a $600 camera and print on a $100 printer,,,you will be disappointed. With a good camera and a good printer you can't go wrong. I use a HP Photosmart 1218 printer. Nice thing is I can take the media card and use it directly in the printer and download my pictures that way without using up batter power. On batteries, I use a battery charger and always keep an extra battery on hand and never have I had any problems running out of power. I also don't use the LCD screen, just the view finder.

I purchased this camera a year ago and it has delivered as I would expect for a quality Canon product. The detail is great and transferability to my laptop wonderful.

Love this camera. I bought it and would not part with it for anything. Easy to use, set up, and transfer pictures. Most of the camera functions are so straightforward you really do not even have to use the manual to know what is going on. I do recommend buying the rechargeable battery kit; it is well worth the money -- have recharged the battery enough to pay for the charger.

If this comes off of out of stock. ORDER IT FAST.
