I liked it until it died.......2007-07-13

I really liked this MP3 player when I first got it, except for the color. It was darker in person that it showed on the computer. Besides that, the MP3 player worked great. It was my first one I had gotten and it was easy enough to use since I mostly used it for workouts and just let it play in order. The first problem I had early on was that it would get stuck after 1 certain song I had on it. At first I thought it was just the song because I would power it off then power on and it would work fine on the next song. I probably had it about a year to a year and a half before one day it just stopped working. At first I thought it was the battery because it kept powering off, but when I put new batteries in it, it wouldn't turn on.

It might have been that it could have been easily fixed, but I just would rather go buy a new one instead of dealing with the hassle of fixing it for the price it cost.

Cheap, highly functional MP3 player........2007-01-28

The FM receiver is extremely insensitive. You practically have to climb the transmitter mast and skewer the thing on the antenna in order to get it to receive a decent signal. Other than that, it's great. Battery life is about 2 weeks or so playing MP3s at reasonable volume for 4 hours a day. Sound quality is better than expected for something packaged in a tiny block of molded plastic. You will probably want better headphones than the ones that come with it, but the included ones are good for working out with, since you really won't care if you get them sweaty. Of course, it would be better with more storage. It is extremely lightweight. Having owned a number of personal stereo type devices over the years, this is the only one that I consistently use. The reason is that the size and weight make it convenient to be wired for sound nearly anywhere at any time. I can easily stick it in any pocket while wearing the earphones, and forget that it is there. (Aside from the fact that it is playing music in my ears.)

I've been using it on a daily basis for more than 1 year already and it's really great. Absolutely no glitches so far (I've dropped it on the floor SEVERAL times), great battery life !

Great Mp3 Player.......2006-07-26

I had this Mp3 player for 1-2 years before I got my Ipod Nano. I never found anything wrong with it, and for the price I still think it is more worth the value than an ipod. I always reccomend the Creative over the ipod to friends on a limited budget. Here are a few pros and cons that I have noticed.

Pros:

1. This thing is TINY. Easily fits in your pocket, but just big enough to feel it (so you know its still there).

2. Very durable (Especially with the case).

3. Good Sound, never had a problem with scratchy noises or anything.

4. Voice recording is really cool, saves as a WAV file that you can upload on your computer.

5. FM/AM radio has very good reception.

6. The software that comes with it is awesome. Click and drag ripping similar to itunes, but better in that you can convert WAV and other audio formats into Mp3s (Very helpful).

7. Great battery life (better than my iPod's)

Cons:
1. Small screen (but this isn't really a problem considering how small the whole thing is).

2. No playlists, you have to scroll through every single song to find the one you want. I found this a little tedious, but it wasn't that bad because you can go through each song in like 1/2 a second (although that is a problem when you have a couple hundred songs).

Those are the only two cons that I can think of. Oh, and my headphones were magnetic for some reason, I don't know if anyone else's are like that, but thats kindof cool. Overall, I think the pros definetly outweigh the cons, and I would say for the great price, its one of the best out there.

Creative Labs does not offer customer support.......2006-06-01

Purchased this MP3 player in April 2005. Worked great for twelve months - then I had a problem - it was stuck in FM mode, and I could not turn it off (unless I pulled out the batteries each time). Went to the Creative Labs web site for support - nothing there to help my situation - then I sent an email - and they told me that they WOULD NOT ASSIST ME, and then refered me back to the web site. They also gave me a phone number to call - but that IT WOULD COST ME [...] EVERY 30 MINUTES OF "SUPPORT" THAT THEY PROVIDE!!!!
So now my MP3 player is no longer functional, and I need to buy a new one.

If you value customer service - STAY AWAY FROM CREATIVE LAB PRODUCTS

Very happy with this purchase. I was able to place it in a shallow cupholder between my dash and gear shift for easy access and have greatly enjoyed being able to access my XM Roady XT in this way. I just wish there were more options on the depth/width of the holders - I currently have the base sitting within the shallower cup and it works fine, but still a bit loose.

Excellent Product... for the Right Cars.......2007-03-08

I purchased the TuneDok because I didn't want to physically attach anything to the interior of my car. Because my car's cup holders are located between the front seats as opposed to being closer to the dash, the location isn't that great. However, it's much better than keeping my XM receiver on the passenger seat. I would definitely recommend this product.

Works just like it looks.......2007-01-05

This is a great product. I didn't want to mess with the vent clips or with adhesives, etc. Cars today come with so many cup holders, that you might as well use them for something. I have one of these tunedoks in each of my cars and they work great. They don't rattle around, and I can adjust the height and angle of the xm recvr (in my case both are samsung Nexii aka Nexus). Highly recommended.

I could have used this in California.......2006-12-22

In California & Minnesota drivers are not allowed to use suction cup devices on the windshield (gps, radar detectors, satellite radio). On a recent business trip to California I had to rely on the vent clips for my Ski Fi 2. They really did no hold well. This would have been a huge improvement. I am definately ordering one for my travel kit.

Great mount for Roady XT.......2006-09-20

This product works very well as advertised. Fits perfectly in my 2007 Camry without interfering with the automatic transimission shift. I was hesitant to spend this much money (~$18) on a holder when I spent only a little more than twice that on the Roady XT itself. Glad I bought the TuneDok after all.

Dented!.......2007-03-21

The radio looks good but I don't know how it sounds yet. J&R sent me one with a nice large dent in the speaker mesh. Hmmmmm.... $399.99 with a dent? Glad I used my Amex. Also they want me to pay for return shipping?!?! Not my idea of good customer service. What is Bose's phone number?

Incredible sound more than expected from a small table set!.......2007-01-19

From opening the box to room filled with sound in minutes! The sound of the bass response was awesome! The FM radio pulled in stations with just the short wire antenna, my other panasonic unit missed. The remote control is stright forward and easy to use. The fit and finish of the unit matches the incredible sound. I believe the sound quality is superior to the bose units I have heard in two of my friends homes. Nice to buy something that exceeds your expectations.

high-end performance.......2002-12-04

I've had these speakers for several years and they are a classic. Speaker designs tend to come and go, and it's great to see that Cambridge knows a good thing when they make it. There is nothing about the performance of these speakers that would lead one to suspect the low price-point. The best thing about the performance is that you would never know that the low-frequencies were coming from a separate box than the satellites. The overall effect is very cohesive. If you are in the market for a sub/sat system, the Ensemble III is a winner.

Beautiful design with tiny real "notebook" size. If we can upgrade to 1 GB RAM, I will say this is an excellent notebook for people on the go!

Hot to the point of burning finger tips.......2006-08-18

Its a cute looking computer. Light and a perfect size. BUT, it gets so hot that I basically can not use it after about half an hour. The cursor area is untoucahble. Even typing is uncomfortble and unplesant because of the heat and the high temperature of the keyboard.

I wish I had bought it at Costco so I can take it back but unfortunately I bought here from Amazon and dont think it is returnable. Dont buy it.

Very nice ultracompact notebook.......2006-06-01

I bought this notebook to use while travelling since I take lots of digital photos and need somewhere to store them.

Its look is very stylish with an all-white interior with a burgundy cover. The keyboard is compact, so if you have big hands you might find it uncomfortable for typing. The keyboard quality is nice but since I'm used to the Thinkpad keyboard, I find it a bit stiff while typing.

My biggest complaint with this notebook is the quality of the touchpad buttons. They're recessed a bit below the level of the touchpad and they're very stiff when you try clicking them. I click on the touchpad for my left mouse button, so it's bearable. The touchpad itself is not very sensitive and its resolution seems a bit lower than what I'm used with mainstream notebooks but it's perfectly usable.

This notebook is great for watching DVDs (mine came with PowerDVD, my favorite player) and the wide beautiful screen make viewing a pleasure. One note though, my screen had one dead pixel on arrival but I don't consider that a major problem.

The battery seems good enough, I think it can comfortably accommodate watching a complete dvd movie without running out.

For the digital camera crowd, the card reader (SD, MS, and MMC) built-in is a Godsend (no CF though, I got a pcmcia one for around $10). For some reason, I don't find the reading speed from the card that high compared to the speed I get from my desktop considering both have USB 2.0.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with this notebook and I find that I use it more everyday instead of my 14.1" thinkpad when I just want to browse.

Love it, love it, love it.......2006-05-07

I bought this for my job. I am a road warrior and have to use my notebook on each appointment. I have a Dell 15.4" at home that I love, but it got to heavy for me in and out of the car. So this 10.6" is absolutely perfect. It's considerably faster than my Dell, which is a Pentium M also. My husband said it's because it doesn't have that Centrino mobile technology. I don't know and personally I don't care. As long as it does the job, and it does. The only thing is that the words are soooo small on the small screen, but I've gotten use to that. It's so cute and little that I carry it in my Louis Vutton tote bag. My cousin liked it so much that she just bought one last week. I am very satisfied and I don't see any future problems.

Averatec price = averatec quality.......2006-04-27

I bought a similar model a while ago and I am surprised by the number of positive reviews and the high score that this item received. Perhaps they were predominantly written just after purchase. At that time, my feelings were warm as well, albeit not as warm as the laptop itself after a few minutes of use. After one year of not-too-intensive use, I am unhappy. The batteries died out almost instantly. When my students saw me coming with it to give a lecture, they immediately started asking questions about poor batteries... And technical support in case of a problem? Totally incompetent. After many calls and contradictory pieces of advice, one thing has been clarified: the "part number" shown on the back of the laptop is incorrect! Don't buy unless you like endless and meaningless conversations with incompetent tech reps.
