Good heatset, not Outstanding. Pros and Cons..........2007-08-26

I bought this headset to replace the cheap piece of crap headset that the 360 comes with. My microphone worked but I couldn't hear anything on my old one. I opened the earpice to find one of the wires loose. I tried to solder it back on, but due to the product's low quality, it just fell apart.

I researched many headsets only to be dissapointed. A truly outstanding headset for xbox live has yet to be produced. They all suck in one way or another; some more so than others. I considered the wireless headset despite reviews that feedback on the device was unbearable. A friend of mine got one and I witnessed first hand it's true crapiness.

I then decided to check out Plantronics headsets. I had worked at a call center about a year ago in which we used Plantronics headsets and found them to be great products overall. This model (Gamecom X30) is the best they have out right now, despite the snazzy looking Halo edition headsets they also have out.

Plantronics Gamecom X30:

PROS:
-Great speaker, voices come in LOUD and clear.
-Comfortable, easy to wear on long gaming sessions.
-Sleek design.
-Sturdy build.
-Don't let the "under ear" design turn you off. Once you get used to putting it on, you'll find that this design not only stays well on your ear, but is also great for using with eyewear and headphones.

CONS:
-The mouthpiece picks up air currents (ceiling fan, air conditioning) WAY too much. It lacks the foam covering on the tip, but if you still have the original headset, just remove it from there and put it on this one. It fits well and fixes this problem.
-Despite picking up the wind, the mouthpiece does a mediocre job at picking up your voice! You can ask "can u guys hear me ok?" all day long but the only way to test how you sound is to record a voice message, and then play it back for yourself. You have to really speak up to be heard at a normal tone. There is no silent speaking on this headset, that isn't to say that you have to yell, just project and enunciate.
-The biggest setback on this headset is that the mute/volume controls aren't attatched to the controler like on the original headset. They're on the cable about 16 inches above the input. Make sure to set your volume BEFORE a match!

Overall this is a good headset. It's not outstanding and I kept from giving it 5 stars because of the location of the volume controls. Despite the setbacks, this is still the best headset available, and at a couple of bucks cheaper than the original, it's a definite bargain.

this headset is ok but it has some issues. 1 its too loose on your head. 2 the mic is in a bad spot. 3 audio control is horrible because the adjuster is in the middle of the cord on a crappy clip.

this headset is awesome, and it doesn't go over you r head so you don't feel like an idiot. the volume is fantastic and the mic picks up my voice perfectly no complaints so far.
the only thing i would change is make the volume and on/off button locations. it would be so much better if if were on the controller or headset.

Great Headset.......2007-06-12

I've run the gambit on headsets for the Xbox360. I've used the standard one that comes with the console and I've tried the wireless one to no avail (that headset is junk!). This Plantronics headset is the best I've tried so far. It's light and fully adjustable. The audio quality is good and I've never had a complaint of poor mic volume/quality on the other end. If you're looking for a replacement headset or upgrade, this is the one to buy until Microsoft can fix all the problems that plague the wireless unit.

Excellent Headset.......2007-05-13

The sound quality is excellent. This can go a lot louder than the original 360 headset. Extremely comfortable, you almost forget it's there even during extremely long gaming sessions. My only dislike is the volume and mute control is half way up the cord so you have to take your hands off the controller to adjust.

We purchased this radio for my mother-in-law.
The dial is lighted for easy tuning and the dial itself has a little resistance so when you find your station, you do not slip past it. Easy!
More importantly, the sound quality is very good indeed.
For a small table top radio, it fully meets & exceeds expectations.

I don't claim to be an expert in audio and don't want to spend a fortune for radio. The NR31 is inexpensive. Simple to operate(analog). And it delivers good sound. If you want to brag about Brand names, spend alot more and go for the Boses and Bostons and the Cambridges, etc. If you want to save money, go with the Emerson NR31

Not bad for the money........2006-12-28

I picked this radio up sans the side speaker for $10. I took it out of the package in the store and plugged it in, and it sold itself. I had been looking at Tivolis and the superb Boston Acoustics table radio, but did not want to shell out the clams.

Pros:
1. The speaker is loud and clear.
2. I like the lighted dial.
3. Reception can be pretty good.

Cons:
1. Am/Fm dial is screwy (will sometimes mix Am and Fm bands simultaniously) I just turned it back and forth and it fixed itself.
2. Reception can be pretty bad, depending on the station and will mix frequencies.
3. Antenna is a sorry little wire. I may get into the guts and resolder a better antenna in place.

Can't be beat for $10 bones.

Excellent value.......2006-12-28

I have a Tivoli Model One and a Model Two which I have listened to for several years. They are both excellent radios. The Model One is $119, and the stereo Model Two is $199. The Emerson is a knock off of the Model Two. Last week Drug Mart had it on sale for $14.99! I decided to buy one as I figured for this price you can't go wrong. You can't beat this deal with a stick! Radio is nicely constructed out of wood, has a very nice sound, and looks really cool. So how does it compare to the Model Two which is $184 more? Well, it's not really fair to compare. The Tivoli is built sturdier and uses a higher quality wood. It has a jack for a subwoofer, and also a knob setting for aux. (so you can switch to a cd or mp3 player.) It has a better frequency response with a fuller sound, and a little more bass. The Emerson does not have a jack for a subwoofer, and when you use the aux jack you have to unplug it before you can use the radio again. But the dial of the Emerson lights up with a cool orange! The Emerson also picks up weaker am stations better without an external loop antenna. FM reception is ok, but only the weakest signals were not being received. The fact that I can even compare a radio I paid $15 for with a $200 one is amazing. Of course the Tivoli is going to be a better radio as it should for $199. But the Emerson is by far the better deal! I set it up in my bedroom and was listening to it over the weekend and comparing it to the Tivoli. I even plugged my iPod shuffle in to it. I am totally satisfied with the quality and especially the sound of this radio. It is going to stay in the bedroom. I told my sister about it and they went out and got one too. They are also very happy with it. So it's not a $199 Tivoli, but if you want a very nice sounding stereo wood table radio that looks really cool at an unbelievable price, get the Emerson! I would have given it 5 stars, but the FM dial is off a little bit. So maybe 97.5 is really 98.5 at the pointer, but that is not really a big thing and does not affect the performance of the radio. Oh yeah, one more thing- it seems that the Emerson has more power and will play louder than the Tivoli.

How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about. Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.

The Centon Electronics 64MB Memory Stick-Blue, like most 64MB cards, will store on average 71 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 53 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera, 32 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 25 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 20 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.

I truly hope this review was helpful to you in determining whether this card is the right capacity for your specific needs.

Small and Sassy Camera.......2004-09-21

I had my doubts at first. How can a camera do so much and be so cheap?....When the camera arrived I began to play with it and discovered the following:

Batteries last a long time
Images are Great using the Normal Lens Setting, when the zoom is used, you can see a tiny amount of distortion because I can't keep the Camera Still enough.
The Reocrding Feature acts just like a Video Camera!, Even the Playback
Sounds and Notes can be recorded

I Could go on for hours but I would purchase this Camera Agagin in a second!. Its a GREAT BUY for what you get in return. The Ulead Photo Software is VERY IMPRESSIVE and easy to work with. Go Ahead and take the plunge, you won't be dissapointed with this TINY CAMERA with a BIG PUNCH

awesome sound for the BBQ or patio........2002-11-27

I recently bought a pair of these outdoor speakers for my back patio. I love them. And get more questions about where I got them. The sound is the best I have heard from outdoors, and they are really solid. Like the fact that you can swing them and point them once they are mounted too.

Before I bought these, I had the older version of the Cambridge outdoors, and I used them on my boat for years. At one point, they were blasting away, and fell off where I had mounted them, and fell under the hull of my boat. I thought it was gone forever - and kissed it goodbye - but when I saw the wire was still attached, I pulled them up and they came up still playing. From that day forward, I've been a beliver in these speakers, and this company. They are built to last, and survive the elements.

Not worth the money..........2005-02-12

I have had this CD alarm clock for a little over 2 years and I HATE it! This is the third one I have been through. I don't know if it is because we have a lot of times when our electric goes out but every time I turn around something else is wrong with this product. When I first got it, it was a great product. But, now I don't have any CD player, my alarms only buzz for ever and then only play radio even on Buzz, so I get confused. No matter what setting it is on now it is the radio I wake up to, which throws off my body as it got used to only hearing a Buzzing noise forever. I also hate the fact that the CD Alarm has been broke for about a year and a half. But I got so sick of returning these to find a good one I have just suffered. But, it makes me mad that I paid so much for a product that does work. I realize that CD Alarm clocks don't have a great life span as my sisters also blew after only about 6 months. If you really want a CD alarm clock I would look for one with a great warranty. Other-wise if a regular one will work invest in a really great basic one.

Very Nice; Convenient CD Player, Radio, Alarm Operation.......2002-07-20

This wonderful CD player/alarm clock allows you to either wake up to the CD in the player, the radio station of your choice, or a buzzer. The snooze button can be controlled to allow one-minute to thirty-minute snoozes. You can set two alarms, and it allows you to shut it off during the weekend without having to reset the alarm when the weekend's over. All in all, if you're looking for a good alarm clock with the added convenice of a cd player and radio, and don't want to put too big of a dent in your wallet, the CE-255 is an excellent choice.
