Amazon.com Product Description
What if one device could help you navigate anywhere in the U.S. and Canada, while offering travel tips, storing your favorite tunes and photos, providing translation assistance, and more? That device is here, and it's not much bigger than a deck of cards. The Garmin nüvi 350 is set to revolutionize what we expect from a GPS navigation device, or from any device for that matter.
The nüvi 350 is a portable GPS navigator, traveler's reference, and digital entertainment system, all in one. View product demo (requires Flash).

Design
With a total weight of 5.1 ounces and slim measurements of 3.87 x 2.91 x 0.87 inches (WxHxD), the nüvi 350 is just right for the pocket or purse. A bright, 64,000-color display dominates the front of the device and a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels means that there's plenty of room for displaying map data and other elements of the device's interface. An SD memory card slot is provided for expansion software, such as a points of interest database, media files and electronic guides (see below). The flip-up antenna includes an MCX-type connector for connecting the unit to an external GPS antenna. Meanwhile, a powerful built-in speaker resides on the back of device. A built-in lithium ion battery will give you for to eight hours of battery life, depending on use. In addition to an AC charger, the unit also ships with a 12-volt power adapter for vehicle charging, as well as a windshield suction cup mount.
Fortunately, Garmin has made it easy to interface with the nüvi 350's 700 megabytes of onboard memory, thanks to "plug-and-play" USB mass storage support. Just plug the device into your computer's USB port and you've got instantaneous access to all the audio books, music, photos, supplemental maps and other data on the nüvi 350's internal and SD card memory.
Navigation
The nüvi 350 is first and foremost a personal GPS device. Wherever you go -- in your car or on foot-- the device offers extremely accurate position data, thanks to a high-sensitivity integrated GPS receiver by SiRF and WAAS-enabled, 12-satellite reception. Combined with detailed maps of the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico the nüvi 350 provides automatic routing, turn-by-turn voice directions, and touchscreen control-- making it easy to find your way anywhere. Plus, the unique "text-to-speech" feature calls out turns by street name, and you can choose from either 2D or 3D mapping perspectives when you're viewing your route on the display. Additionally, the nüvi 350 is compatible with Garmin's GTM 10 FM TMC traffic receiver*, which allows users to avoid traffic tie-ups by simply pushing a button that will calculate a new route.
As mentioned, the nüvi 350 comes packed with mapping data for North America, but you can can also load up your custom points of interest. Set up proximity alerts for school zones, safety cameras, and more using Garmin's free POI (points of interest) loader program (available from garmin.com).
The device automatically calculates the fastest route and provides voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions along the way. |
Tools for the Journey
Navigation is just part of the journey, and the nüvi 350 is one of the first devices to recognize that. The built-in "Travel Kit" offers an MP3 player, an audio book player from Audible.com, a jpeg-format picture viewer, a world travel clock with time zones, a currency converter, a measurement converter, and a calculator.
In addition to the included travel tools, additional software add-ons are available, such as the Garmin Language Guide, with data provided by Oxford University Press. This software suite contains a multilingual word bank, phrase bank, and five bilingual dictionaries. The multilingual word bank and phrase bank supports nine languages and dialects, including American English, British English, French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, European Portuguese, European Spanish, and Latin American Spanish. Now you can look up and translate more than 17,000 words or 20,000 phrases per language -- right in the palm of your hand. Through the unit's text-to-speech interface, users can get a spoken pronunciation of each entry in the word bank, along with gender and part of speech information.
Another useful add-on software package, the Garmin Travel Guide, is loaded with information provided by Marco Polo. These guides put in-depth travel information such as reviews and recommendations for restaurants, tourist attractions, and more at your fingertips. The software allows you to navigate to an address or search points of interest-- places like hotels, restaurants, shopping, and tourist attractions. The nüvi 350 automatically calculates the fastest route and provides voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions along the way. The unit also audibly announces the name of upcoming streets-- letting you keep your eyes on the road while navigating through busy traffic and tricky roadways. And if you stray off course, the nüvi 350 automatically calculates the quickest way to get back on track.
*Traffic services available only in select cities where RDS-TMC coverage exists. Requires the GTM 10 FM TMC traffic receiver and subscription fee to enable traffic capability.
What's in the Box
nüvi 350, travel kit, vehicle suction cup mount, carrying case, 12-24 volt adapter cable, dashboard disk, USB interface cable, sample language guide content, sample MP3s, and quick reference guide.

Worth Every Penny!.......2007-09-26
This is the best money I have spent in a long time. My job requires a lot of travel over 3 states, and my return home is usually late at night. This is so easy to use. I am great at following directions, have travelled all over the country for years, (in my car). I can't tell you how scarey it has been the few times I have gotten lost late at night. It shows all street names clearly, gives you plenty of notice to make a turn, and even if you do become distracted and miss your turn, it quickly recalculates a new route for you. I am absolutely in love with this product and so glad that I bought it. Parents, if you have children off to college, what a great and different gift this would be. I highly reccommend it!!
the swiss knives of GPS.......2007-09-26
What an upgrade from my circa 94 GPSIII. easy to use, clear directions and MP3 capacity adequate with 2gigsdcards available through any vendor.
Nuvi 350 initiate.......2007-09-26
This is a super product. Its the first GPS unit I've ever used, and its easy. The packaging is great too, no styrofoam to get rid of. More companies should be this innovative in their packaging. Using the nuvi 350 has been more fun than pockets with the bottoms cut out. I am busy looking up relatives and friends that I only have addresses for. We are thinking of jacking it up for a trip to Europe, costy but useful. Monte

Life changing, .......2007-09-25
In the future, I believe that people will ask how in the world anyone lived without these. This version in particular is perfect---easy to set up, easy to understand, perfectly clear on the road......like magic.

Customer Reviews:
Love it!.......2007-09-26
I had a different point and shoot digital camera that broke on me, so I was a bit cautious about buying another one. After much research and talking to many different people this is the one we decided was worth the money. It has been a great little camera! It takes great shots and the clarity is amazing! The screen is super huge and all the settings are easy to navigate. I highly recommend this camera!!!
Surprising picture quality and good battery life.......2007-09-26
I bought this camera to use on an extended vacation this summer to some national parks out west. It's exceptionally easy to use and took excellent pictures, some of which we had printed in 11x17 size with great results. It's easy to use, is small enough for a shirt pocket, and the controls are intuitive. One drawback - while the LCD display is great indoors or on overcast days outdoors, don't count on being able to see the display on a bright sunny day. Learn to use the rangefinder and experiment with photos until you understand the difference in coverage of the rangefinder and LCD views. I took only still photos, and not many flash pictures, but the battery never ran down, even on days when we took 100 or so pictures.
Form, fit and function.......2007-09-26
Love:
a) The shape and size - fits perfectly in a tight jeans pocket. Perfect for taking on the go anywhere, esp parties
b) Appearance - it is actually sleeker than it looks in its pictures
c) Usability - all the functions that I use frequently are available as dedicated buttons (turn flash off; delete picture; etc)
Hate:
Nothing really. The only reason I've not had the results I've wanted is because of my own lack of knowledge of why it wouldn't take some pictures in a low light condition, and what I can do to override that situation.
Image quality disappointment.......2007-09-26
Bought it for my mom's birthday. Decided to compare picture quality indoors with my good old Fuju FinePix F30. Oh, why did I do it? :( At ISO 1600 my oldie kicked Canon's behind really hard. My mom loves taking pictures indoors :( Sorry, mom.
This is one great little camera!.......2007-09-25
I like this camera, it was a great upgrade from my hp. Small enough to fit anywhere, but it still has a large screen. The picture Quality is excellent - although you get some speckles on the dark pictures when you take the pics with the auto settings - but you would get that too on your average 35mm
so i was always a fan of the canon quality in their cameras - this one did not let me down

Sandisk Micro SD Card: no adapter for Mini SD usage.......2007-09-23
As in my other experiences with Sandisk, the product works perfectly. However, I needed a device that I could move between Micro SD and Mini SD and I naively assumed that there would be an adapter. Of course, there's an adapter to standard SD, but not for the Mini. So now I'm trying to find the adapter that will make this useful for me.
works well with sansa c240 mp3 player.......2007-09-23
I use this 2GB chip in the mp3 player and it works very well so far. I have been using the mp3 player every day for about a month now and I have no complaints. I have uploaded and formated and re loaded this chip without any problems.
It Does The Job.......2007-09-22
Its just a memory card, not much to say except it stores the things i need stored.
Works Like A Charm!.......2007-09-21
For the price I paid for this micro card, it works very well. I use it for my cell phone and store music and pictures in it. Recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive micro card.
Great Value.......2007-09-20
This is absolutely wonderful. I received it in a short amount of time. I use it in my cell phone to hold videos, movies, music, and pictures. It was a much better deal to buy one here than it was to spend $100 for one from Cingular.

Customer Reviews:
They break.......2007-09-26
I dont know if Im the only other person having this problem, There is so much space it is very cool looking and shows picture, never figured out the video stuff, oh and i also owned a 30g older one befor i bought this one, the problem is I run, alot but not like crazy, whatever i just work out, so they break. the running or olyptical makes them jiggle and break on my arm so I am forced to get a Nano, they are work out safe, at least thats what the gyu at the Max store said. SO annoyed I have to buy yet another one just over a year after i bought this one
Big Disappointment.......2007-09-26
I bought new iPod classic 80 GB yesterday and a day later I think I am ready to return it. There are several problems with this iPod. If you never owned iPod before you may not notice these issues. However, if you owned iPod video or iPod photo you will be greatly disappointed.
Things that I don't like:
1)You can't enlarge album artwork anymore
2)The artwork doesn't load immediately when you browse your music.
3)When you browse and click on artist it gives you all the albums that you have and tells how many songs are in each album which I find annoying since I have lots of classiclal music and it doesn't make sense when you read that Mozart's Symphony No.40 has 4 songs.
4) Cover Flow doesn't support all album artwork. Some just won't load on iPod. I don't even bother to talk about that feature. it's useless
However things mentioned above are not major problems. They are very subjective, just something I dislike. The big problem with new iPod classic is its click wheel. When I used my new iPod for the first time I even thought maybe something was wrong with my fingers instead of suspecting that something maybe wrong with click wheel. That's because I had iPodphoto 60Gb for 2 years and it worked exceptionally well. But after reading all negative reviews online I realised that everyone has the same problem with click-wheel. How can Apple allow this to happen when they always brag about their patented clickwheel in the ads is beyond me. It's just a shame. I like the design and the bright screen of new iPod but who wants to wait for music to load for five seconds or who wants to try adjusting volumes multiple times because click-wheel simply doesn't feel your touch.
Like some other reviewer mentioned here I really wanted to buy iPod touch but 16 GB capacity is a joke in our age.I think Apple is just teasing consumers and will probably release 60 GB or bigger versions of iPod Touch close to Christmas to make huge sales. It's kinda sad what Apple has become...
sluggish reaction time.......2007-09-25
i returned it 2 days later, after i've found out ipod nano and old ipod are more responsive. how come apple allow supposedly new products to be released with less impressive user experience than the one they hope to repalce...
Not as bad as people are saying........2007-09-25
ok, so people are griping a lot and worried apple is flopping and giving their customers the old one finger salute. I bought this, trying to be as open as possible, and this is what i found.
The click wheel- Not as bad as some are saying. It is not perfect, but after an apple update or two it should be fine
- Cover flow. Its true, it doesn't update fast enough; however, i don't care much for the concept and will probably never use it... I imagine most will be the same.
-Battery life- Great!!! what more can you ask for?
- Incompatibility with 3rd party accessories... ok, understand this gripe, but lets be honest, not all your computer accessories for the 90s fit this nice new HP you just bought. When you think about it, we should have expected this some time. granted i have less to gripe about than others since i haven't had an ipod since my gen 4 died 2 or 3 years ago, but if you search the net, I'm sure buying a new cable hear, or there wont kill you. Then there is the problem with games not transferring over. Its true, the games you bought for your gen 5 video wont work on the classic.... Its 5$... is it really that big of a deal? if i wanted cheap i would have gotten a zune, and if your really that concerned, maybe you should. I think a lot of the gripes we are seeing are a little overdone, and if you really think about it... look deep deep down inside of yourself, you will see it makes sense. lets look at the pros
- 80 gigs at $250... it must be my birthday
- that new brushed metal finish, mmm mmm mmm, it just feels nice. not fingerprints either.
- regardless of what i have read on a few forums, all my cover art transfered in rather well (minus a few rare cds that i didn't expect to show up)
- the amount of time it takes to charge is great!
- its not made by Microsoft
- itunes is the MOST intuitive way to handle mp3 tags that i have seen inside of a mp3 player client
---
cons
the click wheel is a bit awkward at first when compared to previous generations BUT it is not as bad as others will make you think
no case, but who cares, you can get em cheap off ebay
---
So if your like i was and are really worried about getting this because of all the bad reviews, dont worry... remember, no piece of technology is perfect in its first days, it takes a few updates to get it righ, and im sure Apple is working hard to perfect its product and continue to dominate the MP3 market (for good reason too)
So far so good..........2007-09-25
I purchased this ipod as soon as they became available at Apple stores. The main problems that I have encountered so far is of course the clickwheel not being as sensitive as previous ipods. I tend to wear my ipod on a belt clip, and before if I had a t-shirt over the ipod, I would be able to adjust the volume over the shirt. However, I can no longer do that. But that's not a big issue. The other problem seems to be with the USB connections. Sometimes when I sync my ipod or try to charge it, I have to adjust the USB cord a little bit to make a connection. It's a bit aggravating but manageable. The cover art flow does lag but fully loads in about 2 seconds. I don't mind waiting that long. The positives in regards to this ipod are of course the 80G space (my previous ipod was a 30G), the cheaper price (my 30G ipod was $300 when i purchased it) and a sleeker overall feel, whether it's the main menu flowing cover art or browsing by category. In the end, I am satisfied with my purchase, so far. Luckily, I haven't crashed yet.

Good Price - But caution re. "built-in" write-protect switch".......2007-09-24
Good price, I needed two, and by buying two I got free shipping. I loaded up the first one with no problem. The 2nd one i plugged into a port on my Canon printer, and when i tried to load files onto it, got the error msg that the drive is "write-protected". There is no little write-protect switch on these things. Called Kingston tech support to ask about the "built-in" write-protect switch" they didn't seem to be able to explain how that works or how to turn it off, and said if you can't write to it, you have to return it. This was not what I wanted to hear. Then I moved it to the SD port on the computer and was able to write to the chip with no problem. Printer must have a bad port (not enough voltage to write?). Note - Actual usable memory was 1.87Gb.
With a Price that Can't be Beaten!.......2007-09-23
For me, it came down to the Kingston and Sandisk. The final verdict? Kingston had a cheaper price and guaranteed me lifetime warranty. I haven't had a problem with it yet and to be honest, I'll be buying another one soon. Why pay $25 in stores for a 1GB when you can get a 2GB for the same price?
just wow.......2007-09-20
i got it in one day
so fast, the product is just what i wanted for my phone, and it all works
super fast shipping, it was so cool how i got it under 24 hours when i didnt even order the fast shipping
will recomend
Its too good.......2007-09-19
Initially I was a little bit apprehensive on how a 2 GB memory card would perform on my cell. But now its really good. There hasn't been any problems and I would like to give it a THUMBS UP :)
Excellent card.......2007-09-18
I bought mine when it was around $18 + shipping at the time. No problems with it, great price, fast delivery, and it does it job. Highly recommend it and you can't really doubt Kingston since they are known for making memory products.

Amazon.com Product Description
For the ultimate in wireless freedom, look no further than the Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset, which represents a generational leap in Bluetooth headset technology. The 510 is comfortable and light enough for all day wear, and it offers unprecedented clarity and sound quality. These are great features, but the real revolution involves Plantronics' exclusive "Multipoint" technology, which allows the headset to function as a powerful communication solution for up to two Bluetooth devices.
With Multipoint technology you can switch between your voice-enabled Bluetooth mobile phone, PDA or laptop. The headset's "smart" technology knows which device you are using and allows you to take calls from any device at the touch of a button. With the optional Plantronics Bluetooth Deskphone Adapter you can even switch between your office phone and your Bluetooth mobile phone. You'll never need to use a dedicated "landline" phone headset again.
The 510 features a noise-canceling microphone for clearer conversations, and it folds for easy storage. The boom also swivels for perfect positioning on either ear. One-touch call control buttons are placed for easy access, and you can easily redial the last number dialed and initiate voice-activated calls from the headset. Because the 510 is Bluetooth-enabled (it supports the Bluetooth 1.2 specification) you can roam up to 33 feet from your Bluetooth device. Meanwhile, the 510 supports adaptive frequency hopping (AFH) which helps avoid interference from wi-fi networks. Ample talk time is provided by the built-in rechargeable battery; you'll get up to 6 hours talk time and up to 100 hours of standby time.
Customer Reviews:
Good product.......2007-09-26
Finally had to join the twenty first century and go hands free. Spent time researching and talking to others about bluetooth headsets. It works very well with my Motorola Q (that has it own issues-think twice before you get one). It is very comfortable for wearing all day and the battery life is great. It recharges quickly and connects in a flash. The sound is wonderful and better yet, the people you are talking to can hear you clearly, even outside on a windy day. Highly recommended if you are thinking of getting one of these devices.
Best Bluetooth for the $$$.......2007-09-25
Very satisfied with my purchase, Works great, way better than any price range Motorolas I've owned. Buy it You will not regret it.
Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset.......2007-09-24
Works well, easy to configure. Make sure you keep it charged adequately else it will keep shutting down without any warning!
Great Product!.......2007-09-24
This is my fourth Blue Tooth headset, and I am very pleased with it. I had one other Plantronics and two Motorola's. I drive a truck occasionally and people always complain that they could not hear me, just all the noise. This headset only picks up my voice, even with the window down people can hear me clearly! I had spent quite a bit more for the previous headsets. What a great find on Amazon for only $50! I learned about this product from a friend of mine who also drives a truck. I am so glad I found it. A truly outstanding device, well worth the money!
Multipoint Technology - Where?.......2007-09-24
I bought this headset specifically for its ability to connect to multiple devices (phone and laptop) at the same time. However, it doesn't seem to, pairing with one device always loses paring with the other. The Plantronics documentation (user guide included with the device as well as what I can find on their web site) doesn't even mention multipoint.

Cables Unlimited brings A/V enthusiasts the next generation of digital video and audio cables. These high quality HDMI cables deliver the optimum video and multiple channel audio signals required for connecting today's high-end DVD players, cable boxes, AV receivers and HDTV's. These premium cables are fully HDCP compliant to provide the highest level of signal quality and compatibility.
Customer Reviews:
Wow!! Does what it's meant to do. No more, no less..........2007-09-26
If you want a good HDMI solutiin, this only solves half the problem, as audio is not transmitted through this cable due to DVI being at the other end.
Well, what else can I say? Wow! It's a freekin cable. And it's cheap. A lot cheaper than the ripoff cables sold at Circuit City. It hooks your HDTV up to many devices with DVI outputs, including cable boxes, DVD players, even computers. It has a black outer cover, perfect for hiding the copper wires inside. For those worry about the look of wires in the living room, the black color will make it blend in with all the other wires behind your TV.
Just as good as more expensive cables.......2007-09-23
I'm using this cable to connect my Toshiba HD-A2 to my 37" Dell LCD. The picture is amazing! I'm glad I didn't waste my money on more expensive cables.
Don't waste your money!!!!.......2007-09-17
Having just purchased a LCD HD TV, and spending a ton of money on the TV itself, I was not thrilled in spending more money on a bunch of cables. When I found these, I couldn't believe the price, after seeing so many HDMI cables at exorbinate prices. So I tried them, and after hoping they would work as I had hoped and read in reviews they would, NOTHING, no signal, weak signal, blank screen.
So I called up Dell and ordered some very expensive Belkin HDMI cables and will see if they work.. (They better for that price or they go back)
I am highly disappointed but like my father always told me (didn't take his advice this time)YOU ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, and he is right.
Please, please don't waste your hard earned money for junk, because that is what this cable is, JUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks like they were home made.
Now I am off to buying some optical cables. Any suggestions?
Reasonably Priced HDMI Cable.......2007-09-15
I performed a side by side comparison of the Cables Unlimited HDMI, against the "Monster" HDMI cables, from 2 HD receivers, with the same signal feed. NO difference in picture quality. The cable strain relief is a bit smaller, but who moves these around after the install is complete. Great value, good picture and you can buy 2 for the price of one of the competition. I am using them on 3 HDTV's with DirecTV, Time WarnerHD and HD/BluRay Players. I recommend them highly.
Don't Pay a Monster Price.......2007-09-14
Don't be fooled by those $80 cables at the big-box retailers. This is the same thing for a fraction of the price. Works great connecting my DVR to my 50" plasma. Provides a great picture.

Customer Reviews:
When customers are viewed as sheep!! .......2007-09-26
Yes.....iPod created the wave with its beautiful mp3 player line. People loved it and placed complete trust in Apple. What ever comes out of Apple, must be the best and costs reasonably......The business strategy is to take people there before the corporations drop them down and make a helluva lot of money for lesser and lesser. I remember iPods used to come with chargers et. al. which has to be bought seperately now. Now with this jukebox what is called as a 'Classic', No TV out, poorer quality of audio. They brought in a newer and a cheaper chip that is not only a poorer performer but also a feature chopper!! Apple has disabled the TV out in an effort to sell another of their $50 product. AV cables work no more. Tell me something.....why will somebody watch a movie on a 2.5inch screen, unless they are waiting in a stinking airport? I also think their menu-ing system has slowed down a bit. Definitely they have been infected with Microsoft's monopolizing disease.
Here I am one of the first sheep to buy this product.....It is a shame. If you find a 30 or an 80 gb 5.5Gen iPod.....Simply buy it. Run for it since people are drying up this product from the market. I am sure this is an opportunity for other manufacturers to get ahead.
Quality but certainly not perfection.......2007-09-25
I love my iPod, but I also understand it's not going to be for everyone. My primary reason for purchasing this product was to store lots of movies and music for travel. If you don't mind the tiny screen, it's great for a personalized flick on the airplane. And my entire music collection fits on the hard drive with a lifetime's growth that could still be added.
I've noticed people complaining about crashes, rebooting and the redesigned thumbwheel. I have no issues with these items. I have no issues with the music quality.
I do not like DRM or the fact that this iPod requires a special $50 cable to activate TV out features. That's a load, but it wasn't a deal breaker for me since I don't really plan on using mine for watching movies on a larger screen. For a man who can remember paying $400 for 4MB of RAM about a decade ago, I feel like I got a decent deal. I'm a fairly satisfied iPod owner.
This iPod will scratch up immediately. It does not come with a protective shell of any kind. I got mine laser etched with "ad vitam paramus" and I like scratches - they add personality like scars do.
iPod classic has big problem with tv out function.......2007-09-24
The new iPod classic has a big problem for all users of the photo and video functions. You cannot display photos, videos or video podcasts on your TV screen, as you cannot change the TV out function on the iPod from OUT to ON. If you want to see your videos fromthe iPod on the TV screen, then do not buy the iPod classic until Apple has fixed this problem.
Not Impressed! Apple could've done better.......2007-09-24
I have had mine for a week and I've noticed it is slower than the 60Gb and the 80GB models...I've owned all three. The only reason I upgraded to 160Gb iPod was the obvious extra capacity storage. My total digital content has been increasing exponentially with music, audiobooks, photos, movies, TV shows, podcasts and music videos. This 160 GB model is not really 160GB, in fact it is only 148GB when taken out of the box brand new? It seems sluggish when compared to the 60GB and 80GB 5th gene models.
Great Battery Life- Poorer Sound Quality Then The 5G iPod.......2007-09-23
I picked one of these up about a week ago. Battery Life is DOUBLE what my 5G 60 GB unit has. Unfortunately in a side by side comparison sound quality has degraded significantly compared to my wonderful 2 year old fifth generation unit. I did some research and found out Apple has completely redesigned the Logic Board and is no longer using the old Wolfson Microelectronics chip. The new iPod has a dynamically compressed, tinny, metallic sound that can even be heard thru the cheap earphones provided. There is almost ZERO 3D sense of depth and imaging. The sound is so horrible compared to 5G that you can tell the difference thru every headphone tested except for Bose which has almost zero high frequency response. If someone is new to iPod and never owned a fifth generation audiophile quality unit they will probably not have a problem with the sound though.
When I first got the unit it had firmware 1.00 installed and I experienced extremely sluggish menu response. I updated to 1.01 and response is now much quicker though still not as fast as my 2 year old iPod.

Amazon.com Product Description
The Linksys Wireless-G broadband router is really three devices in one box. First, it's a wireless access point, which lets you connect Wireless-G or Wireless-B devices to the network. There's also a built-in four-port full-duplex 10/100 switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices. Connect four PCs directly, or daisy-chain out to more hubs and switches to create as big a network as you need. Finally, the router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection.
To protect your data and privacy, the Wireless-G broadband router can encrypt all wireless transmissions, and it supports the industrial-strength wireless security of 802.1x authentication and authorization. The router can serve as a DHCP server, has NAT technology to protect against Internet intruders, supports VPN pass-through, and can be configured to filter internal users' access to the Internet. Configuration is a snap with the Web browser-based configuration utility.
With the Linksys Wireless-G broadband router at the center of your home or office network, you can share a high-speed Internet connection, files, printers, and multiplayer games with the flexibility, speed, and security you need!
Wireless-G is the 54 Mbps wireless networking standard that's more than four times faster than the widely deployed Wireless-B (802.11b) products found in homes, businesses, and public wireless hotspots around the country. But since they share the same 2.4 GHz radio band, Wireless-G devices can also interoperate with existing 11 Mbps Wireless-B equipment.
Because both standards are built-in, you can protect your investment in existing 802.11b infrastructure, and migrate to the new screaming-fast Wireless-G standard as your needs grow.

Wireless networks are rapidly becoming more popular and coming down in price. Since they don't require cables, you can use the devices anywhere in an office or home, even out on the patio. There's no need to roll out an Ethernet network cable to each room of a house; you can network anywhere--without wires. Outside the home, wireless networking is available in hotspots at coffee shops, businesses, and airports--great when you're on the road and need to get some work done. For convenience, wireless networking is the answer.
Which Wireless Standard Is Right for Me?
Now that you've decided to create a wireless network, the next step is to figure out which wireless standard to use.
Basically, a standard is a set of specifications for a device. All devices that follow a specific standard share operating characteristics, such as the radio frequency used and maximum data transfer speed.
For wireless networking, there are three standards to choose from at this time:

Customer Reviews:
Works like it should!.......2007-09-27
I ordered this because we needed both computers in our house to have internet access. I have to take online classes this fall and my husband likes to play fantasy football, check scores/weather etc. So it's just easier to have one internet connection do double duty. It was very easy to set up and works perfectly! We're very happy with this product. Thanks!
Very good replacement for previous Linksys wireless router.......2007-09-26
This router has proved to be very reliable, but was not so straight forward to install. I thought I would be able to do an easy swap out, bu it required a call to Linksys support before I got it working, and they had me use a different IP address, no sure why.
Overall, very good. Would recommend.
Defective.......2007-09-26
I knew better than to get an "all-in-one" wireless gateway and router, but my Netgear has been acting up and I thought it might be time to get a new router, one that was highly recommended from an industry leader and could stand up to regular abuse in an area with strong wifi pollution.
While the administrative interface is good and includes useful tools and settings, I can't say that the actual routing software is any good. After using it for a day, I left the unit turned-on but idle for the weekend and by Monday morning it wouldn't recognize (serve DHCP to) wired or wireless connections. I cycled the power on the router and was able to use it for the rest of the day. Overnight, between Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning, it decided to stop routing traffic to any wired or wireless connections although it was still handing out IP addresses. Rebooting the cable modem and the router (multiple times!) didn't help and I ended up using a direct connection to the Internet.
Take the advice of those who have gone before you: this product is nothing like previous versions and is defective. Regretfully, I have to return this to Amazon and will have to look to other solutions to provide both wired and wireless Internet access in my home.
