Standard TVs (SDTVs) display a maximum of 480 lines using the interlaced scan method, which creates a picture with alternating lines of information.

You also get extremely wide viewing angles (160 degrees with this set), and easy placement due to the TV's slim profile--this Gateway set is a mere 3.7 inches deep, perfect for desk or wall mounting (a table stand is supplied, and the set is compatible with most mounting hardware). Brightness tends to be extremely uniform across plasma screens, which are also impervious to the picture distortion and negative color balances that afflict CRT monitors when placed near lighting or sound systems.

A built-in digital visual interface (DVI) input jack eliminates the need for analog-to-digital conversion between your DTV set-top box or computer.

PIP (picture-in-picture) gives you the option of watching TV and one analog, standard-definition input source simultaneously, with the additional choice of watching in split-screen mode or window-in-window. A choice of digital zoom modes lets you fill the screen to eliminate letterbox bars on 4:3 (or other) aspect-ratio content, and picture freeze ensures you don't miss any details.

Audio options abound: there's a stereo RCA output with internally selectable fixed or variable level, a pair of built-in 5-watts-per-channel speakers, plus bass, treble, balance, and BBE Sound maximizer to tailor the timbre to your taste. A dedicated monaural RCA jack facilitates hookup with a powered subwoofer to round out the low end of your listening system. Even with a subwoofer, a switchable bass-extension circuit reinforces low frequencies through the variable-level RCA outputs if you're listening through an integrated amplifier or surround receiver and an external pair of speakers.

great monitor, cheap price!.......2003-12-18

I purchases my first computer 5 years ago, and it's still going. Of course I now have 5 laptops and a PC besides this...but it's still a nice back up computer. But it needed a new monitor. I kept putting it off, because frankly I did not want a pricey item for a old set that stick it's spoon in the wall at any given moment. So when I saw this I was delighted. It got it with free shipping so off the bat saved $30+. Also, I had an amazon.com gift certificate I received from buying electronics. So I ended up getting this monitor for a song.

But when I opened it up, I was very impressed. The picture was clear and sharp, does not look "cheap" at all. The PC picked it up immediate and within a minute all was perking right along.

So for a replacement on an older PC, or building a PC on your own, this is one super buy for one very good monitor.

Cheap, Decent, Monitor.......2003-06-14

I bought this monitor as a replacement for my Apple Studio Display 17 which perished suddenly in a flurry of hissing and popping. Sigh. You get what you pay for. I could tell right away that the Apple monitor was clearer, sharper, and brighter, not to mention more stylish. But oh well. You can't beat the price, and hopefully this one, backed by a solid warranty, won't suddenly die like the old one did.

I'm very pleased with this monitor. The picture is very sharp and defined. There are plenty of controls to adjust centering,color temperature, and size. You could sure pay more and get the same quality picture but I think you'd be hard pressed to find a monitor this good at this price. There's a 3 year warranty and currently Amazon has free shipping and no tax. It would cost you more to get in your car and pick one up at the store!

dye based inks.......2006-10-31

It should be noted that these are dye based inks, not pigment based inks, like the original manufacturer's inks (Epson's DuraBright ink). Supposedly this means they won't last as long. Research suggests they might be better from the perspective of clogging print heads, which I've read is a chronic problem on the printers that use the Epson DuraBright inks.

That aside, the cartridges seemed reasonably manufactured, and to the extent that the printer was working (it's a used model that needs the print head cleaned) they seemed to work OK.

Very disappointing product.......2005-07-15

I thought I was getting a great deal when I bought this camera, but the image quality has been very poor on most shots. Even with the flash, indoor shots are grainy and blurry, and outdoor shots are usually washed out no matter what setting I use. My old Webcam took better pictures. Don't waste your money.

Great Alternative!.......2004-10-16

I am a high school student interested in digital photography. So when I started looking for a better camera instead of my 1.3 Megapixel Vivitar, I looked at something I could afford. It came down to this Concord Eye-Q or an Olympus D-540. I really didn't recognize this brand versus the better known Olympus, but I don't think people my age need a fancy camera that costs 300.00 and has 6 megapixels, so this camera is great. It has a reasonably sized LCD screen (only 0.1 inch smaller than the Olympus) and a great optical zoom. I would recommend getting an optical zoom along with a digital zoom. You just get better details that way. This is a great camera! Hopefully when I go travelling in the spring to Aztec ruins, I will have a trusty Concord with me.

Back to basics.......2001-08-18

I bought this to make portable my toddler's lullaby music, so I wasn't much interested in the headphone aspect. Its compact size is good, the radio sounds better than the tape. Tapes sound really "tinny" but my 2-year-old doesn't notice. However, tapes sound better with the headphones. It's pretty basic and wasn't oversold on that point. Count me as 3.5 stars, but there weren't half stars on the scale.

Works with very few devices & requires software patches.......2003-07-16

This adapter only seems to work well with a couple of HP printers for which it requires that you patch the printer drivers. It won't work with Epson printers. Contrary to their claims, it will not work with PDA's. Buy the Keyspan serial adapter. Keyspan adapters are not compatible with a lot of devices, but they are compatible with many more devices than this horrible Belkin adapter. Also, Keyspan has better support.

Not at all happy with this device. The claim "compatible with all serial devices" the reality is it is not . I wanted to connect my LaserWriter to my iMac (serial to USB). After much frustration I called Belkin and was told that this product does not support LaserWriter printers. Belkin was not very helpful and returning the product means I am out the shipping. If you are considering this product call to get specific compatiblity specs.
