These batteries were suggested to me by my cousin who is a photographer. I explained to him I was getting very upset at charging my old rechargables (both sets) not using them and reaching for the camera a week later only to have dead batteries again. Age I am sure was a factor for the old sets but I like the fact that these only release charge when in use. The were charged right out of the box and I have used them for over three weeks. They are a little more pricey but well worth it. I bought an extra set and charger for the wii remotes that Santa is bringing for Christmas.

The buzz around GE/Sanyo's Eneloops is well-deserved. They are affordable (I paid $25 for four batteries and a charger) and provide flawless performance. I use these nickel metal hydride (NiMH) AA rechargeables almost exclusively in my digital camera. When it comes to my camera, nothing is more important to me than battery life. I just don't have the time or the patience to constantly cycle batteries through my camera. I'd rather be taking pictures. My experience with the Eneloops has been positive. They last an extremely long time in the camera. I also can have a charged pair stored in my bag and not worry that the charge will be gone next week when I need them (this is a problem that nickel cadmium (NiCd) batteries haven't overcome yet). As for the charger, it is nice although the cover on mine is pretty loose and can slide up when I'm not expecting it (although the batteries are made in Japan, the charger is made in China). And I like that the plug folds into the charger (that way I don't have to worry about it getting damaged in my bag). If I could offer only one tip, as far as I can tell, this is not a 'smart' charger. So you risk overcharging if you don't unplug the charger when the green charge light goes off. Overcharging a NiMH battery shortens its life considerably. But at least you don't have to worry about the 'memory effect' with NiMHs (NiCds have to be fully discharged or the active areas on the electrodes will diminish).

This is a great quality SMART charger and it comes with even better Eneloop rechargeable batteries which are perfect for practically any device requiring AA/AAA batteries. The charger also charges other brands of batteries unlike what the manual says and the fold-away AC plug is very convenient for travel, space and cord-clutter specific people. HOWEVER, THIS IS NOT A UNIVERSAL VOLTAGE CHARGER...IT'S 110-120V. I was very disappointed when I found this out because we use 220-240V where I'm from. Also, this is not a "SUPER-QUICK" charger which is fine to preserve battery life. Otherwise, it's a great SMART charger!!!

I was a bit skeptical, but found that the batteries lasted a long time in my digital camera, longer than standard AA batteries (or even enhanced 'digital' AA). So far the only drawback is that it takes a long time to charge (overnight).

These batteries are great for cameras. The 4-pack with 4-bay charger is the way to go. I used to have the 2-bay charger but lost it. Beach Audio had the 4-bay for less than I paid retail for the 2-bay! The batteries are charged when you get them (definitely a plus), and they last quite awhile. We're even going to put them in our baby's play-yard mobile because they last so long.

I got these batteries with the hopes that my camera would take the supposed "400 pics vs alkaline 100 pics" and was diappointed. Granted it was on the 1st charge (and just to be sure I charged them before use) but still after only about 50 shots I was down to half charge. That's about the same as with the alkalines I had in there before. I cant attest to whether or not they hold their 85% charge for a year or not, nor will I ever (I mean who let's the camera sit there for a year without use?? Mine as well just buy a disposable for that "special occasion") but as far as the 400 shot capacity, I think it's kind of a joke. But atleast they're rechargeable lol.

Best rechargeables currently available.......2007-09-19

These batteries have one major advantage over most other rechargeables - they retain their charge much longer. This is especially useful for my digital camera. I don't use it every day and may go 2-3 weeks between uses. With other brands I would always have to charge up a new set of batteries each time I used my camera because they would discharge while sitting idle in my camera for 2 weeks. Now I can just pick up my camera and go.

These don't have the highest capacity out there, but since the higher capacity batteries discharge pretty quickly, I find that I actually get a lot more usage from these than I did from 2500mAh Energizers. I hope they do come out with a higher capacity version eventually, but even now they beat all the competition out there.

This is truly a GREAT product. One of the few times I ordered a new product and gotten everything I'd hoped for and more! I'd always hesitated buying rechargeable batteries because of their tendency to loose their charge when sitting idly in a camera or other device. Not these! I'm a believer. They have both high potency and long storage life. This is one of the few products I've ever recommended without reservations.

Casual picture takers take a few pictures at a time and have had trouble dealing with the quick self discharge rate of traditional NiMh batteries. You had batteries fully charged, took some pictures, put away the camera for a week or two and wanted to take pictures again, only to find the batteries were almost dead and the backup batteries were not much better. I have a four year old Kodak digital camera and didn't use it often because of this problem. After I bought the eneloops, the camera started to shine again. Complaints about this battery seems to come from power users who use up batteries in a few hours and demand highest possible mAh. But for casual users, an eneloop at 2000 mAh has effectively much higher usable power than a traditional NiMh at 2500 mAh.

I bought the batteries from a local hhgregg store, which has a cheaper price. The time marked on package indicates they were already a year after manufacture. The batteries of course had lost some charge, but they still could be used to take a few pictures before they needed recharging. That tells me something about these batteries. To casual picture takers, these batteries are a great solution.

I bought these batteries for my digital camera because I was tired of only getting about half a day of pictures out of my alkaline batteries. These are great! So far we have used our camera for 3 long days of pictures and not had to recharge them at all! Now I just hope they hold up to their reputation of withstanding lots of recharges -- unlike our last set of "rechargeable batteries"....

Found a web page (don't know where it is now) where someone tested these out and wrote to Sanyo during his tests while he was trying to verify their claims. Turns out for long term storage, they hold their charge much better in the freezer. I'm no engineer though. I am converting to 100% eneloop. I think these things are amazing and am recommending them to everyone I meet.

I bought these after buying the "Energizer NH15BP-4 ACCU 2500mAh Rechargeable AA Batteries (Four-pack)". The Energizer batteries were a disaster. They would run out very quickly. When I left the batteries (fully charged) alone for a few days I would come back to find them completely drained. The GE/Sanyo on the other hand is great. I don't have to charge them too often, and I can leave them for weeks and use them again for another round of photos. Unlike the Energizer batteries, these keep going and going...

These batteries can run for a long time on high drain devices. I use them in my mp'3 player and digital camera regularly and I can usually expect about a days worth of on and off usage. I previously had the Sanyo 2500 mAh and were impressed by their charge time and the amount of usage time that i got out of them. However with a big trip coming i decided i needed some more power to carry around with me so i opted out for these. Fast charge time using Sanyo's Super Quick Charger. I highly recommend this battery. If you buy these you know that you'll be getting a quality and reliable battery.

I have been through several cheap "boom boxes" and none of them hold up on the job site. The buttons get full of debris, and the antenna always snaps off. I got sick of it and bought the Milwaukee! What a great decision. This radio has a great fit and finish and you can tell it is heavy duty as soon as you pick it up. It is made to take a beating and it sound great! Just buy it!

How I wish I had purchased this radio in the first place. It's tough, it's compact, and it has great sound that would be equally at home in the work site, gym, garage, kitchen, dorm, or wherever.

Only lacking a CD player, this "box" has everything else, including a storage bag, pass-thru plug, clock, etc. I purchased another "box" at considerably higher expense, only to wish I had spent more. I actually spent about the same on this machine, and it's superior in every way and might actually take a couple hits without crumbling. It's meant to be moved and carried around.

Whether or not you use Milwaukee tools and batteries, this is the choice for workplace radios. Someone broke in my workplace last spring and stole my last one. Now THAT'S a sincere endorsement!

Milwaukee Jobsite Radio-tough as nails, but not for the audiophile.......2007-07-19

So far I've been impressed by how well made this puppy is. The body is well isolated from impacts by a robust handle and a broad base. The base has rubber feet which, combined with its over sized dimensions provide excellent stability. The speaker grills are metal, so there's little chance of ruining one with an errant tool or the like.

I like the accessory bag on the back. I keep an extra iPod cable and a DC phone charger in it all the time (the radio has a 12V cigarette-lighter-style outlet). When I hook up the iPod, I just toss it in the bag, zip it up and I don't have to worry about it getting filthy.

On the downside, this thing ain't light, nor small, so keep this in mind if you haul your stuff around in a smaller vehicle. The audio quality is so-so, but then again, I'm partially deaf (or so my wife tells me), so I don't really mind. Besides, I listen mostly to talk radio, so the fact this thing is LOUD is most important - particularly on the job site.

Now if only I could figure out how to set the clock...

Many of my fellow workers have the DeWalt Jobsite Radio, and the reception isn't always that great--so I thought I'd be different, and get the Milwaukee Radio. I even bought the 24V Li-Ion battery (ouch!), and unfortunately had to buy a charger separately as well (because there's not one built in). Overall, a nice radio, sounds great, but, maybe because my battery isn't broke in, I'm not overly impressed with battery life yet. I'm not sure that the reception is better than other boom-boxes, as I'm often in rural areas struggling for reception. Would be great for anyone who already has Milwaukee cordless tools, and loves great sound--also like that it has AM, and Aux plugin for MP3,or Cd player. It does however need a built in charger, and maybe get rid of the big knobs that could be destroyed in a fall, and replaced with flush-mount rocker switches, thus making this a nearly perfect product.

Best Rechargeable Battery.......2007-03-28

After switching digital camera from Canon A75 to A540, I discovered the battery life is extremly short on the A540. At first I thought it's because Canon A540 uses 2-AA instead of A75 with 4-AA batteries, then one time, after taking ZERO pictures and freshly recharged NiMH sitting in the camera for only one day, the "low battery" indicator came on. This happened to both Energizer NiMH 2300mAh battery and Sony NiMH 2600mAh. So I begin to Google the problem and discovered it has something to do with rechargeable battery's drop-off voltage characteristic and how Canon's camera interpret this as low battery indicator.

Hence comes the Eneloop. These batteries' voltage doesn't drop and they discharge very very slowly. I have used the Eneloop for over two months now and glad to say it finally solve the problem of my Canon A540. A set of freshly charged Eneloop can last for weeks and 300+ pictures and counting. Plus the charger is 110v to 220v capable, so my trip to Asia/Europe won't require a different charger. This is an awesome product and I will buy more of it!

Simple little charger that gets the job done - eventually.......2007-02-10

This compact charger is best suited for traveling, because it is tiny (measures only 3"x3"x1"), very light (weights about the same as two AA cells), and accept universal input voltage (100-240V AC). It is also a "smart" charger in the sense that it charges each cell individually, and stops whenever each cell is full.

The main drawback of this charger is that it is rather slow. The charging current is 550mA for AA , and 380mA for AAA. That means it takes about four hours to charge up a pair of 2000mA eneloop cells. What if you need to charge up a set of four 2700mAh cells? That will take close to 12 hours! So you really should keep another faster charger for home use. Just remember that the eneloop cells do NOT require special chargers. Any good quality "smart" NiMH charger will do the job.

The reverse is also true - You can use this eneloop charger to charge other brands' AA or AAA NiMH cells. I keep one in my office just to charge up batteries for my MP3 players, headphones, wireless mouse, etc.

This is such a great battery! These are the only rechargeable batteries that I know of that work right out of the package. I have had other rechargeables and they had to be charged before using. Plus, they last MUCH longer than the other ones. My MP3 Player has fallen in love with these batteries!

Milwaukee 28v battery pack.......2007-09-01

I own the impact hammer and the band saw and use both with only one 28V battery pack. Obviously, there is only so much I can do with only one battery but to date it has worked very well. The fuel gauge is essential if you have a large job pending as it will tell you if you need to recharge. The band saw uses a lot more of the battery than the impact hammer. I used the band saw to cut 1/4" grating and had no problem with the battery as I had several things to do between cuts which also allowed me to recharge when the battery ran low. The impact hammer can drive anything to any depth except lug nuts. Have to be careful not to drive to tight though. I rated the battery only 4 stars as when not in use the charge drops quickly. i.e. several days it is down to 1/4 charge.

I have had my v28 set now for a while and have used my tools for a variety of tasks. I am in the plumbing trade so most applications have been in relation to that. I own almost all of the v28 line of tools so these batteries have run my v28 radio, hammer drill, band saw, sawzall, angle drill, rotary hammer, circular saw, and impact wrench. I have never had a problem with the batteries at all in any of the tools I have used. They have gone from tool to tool with no problems whatsoever and in fact outperformed any cordless tool I have ever used. I can't speak for everyone but these battery driven tools have never disappointed me.

This battery pack is so great. The reason it shows how much life is left on the battery. Which other battery packs don't have. I think it is as good or better than Dewalt. No other battery pack shows how much life is left on the battery.

My question to you, Milwaulkee, is after the fiasco with your 18 volt batteries, why you don't have a 18v Li-Ion to replace the previous JUNK??
You have failed to respond to my e-mails so this is my last resort. To all of you who are considering Milwaulkee cordless tools, do yourself a favor, DON'T DO IT, go with DeWalt Makita or Bosch I am positive u will be happier..........

High failure rate.......2006-08-19

I sure love the way they work, when they work. We've gone through multiple batteries. (All covered under warranty, FYI). They work fine until one day we put them on the charger and the charger indicates defective. No reason is apparent, and so far I can discover no helpful information on why this happens. We have gone through four packs in the last six months. But like I said in the beginning, when they work they work great.

These are very good batteries. I charged those in my La Crosse BC-900 Charger. The following were the results after first charge.

The four AAAs rated 1000mAh nominal (min 930mAh), all come out above 1000mAh, but very close to 1000mAh. I used the discharge setting of 100mA and charge at 200mA. (Those who use the BC-900 will know what I am talking about).

The four AAs rated 2700mAh nominal (min 2500mAh) come out ranging 2.8Ah to 3.0Ah. I used the discharge setting of 250mA and charged at 500mA.

I just started to use these batteries and do not know long term reliability. So far I am very happy with them.

Overheated in my charger.......2006-11-23

I use a great charger (Lacrosse BC-900) and I've never had problems with the energizer batteries that I use.

I bought two packs of these GE/Sanyo AAA batteries and put them through a couple of discharge/charge cycles to get them up to their full potential. One set of batteries overheated in the charger and was destroyed. Not sure what happened to the charger.

Of course, this *could* be due to the charger but I've never had it happen before.

FIRST ALERT.......2007-08-06

I ORDERED 2 FIRST ALERT SMOKE ALARMS TO REPLACE TWO VERY OLD ONES. THE LONG TERM LITHIUM BATTERIES WERE APPEALING SINCE I WOULD NOT HAVE TO REPLACE THEM EACH YEAR. IT TOOK ME A WHILE TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET THE BATTERY INTO WHAT SEEMED LIKE A TOO SMALL SLOT, BUT IT WORKED OUT FINE.
