Customer Support?.........What's That?.......2006-01-19
I have had my unit for 3 years and have had similar problems as noted on some of the other reviews, freezing, can't read data, etc......finally had enough, could not find a service center closer than 100 miles so I sent it to the company in Scottsdale AZ for repair.....they did not even open box and read my letter, just resent it to me unopened!!! What a bunch of Jerks! Maybe they will "get it" after I e-mail a photo to them of me smashing it up with a sledge hammer in my back yard!!
A very bad purchase.......2005-06-28
I purchased this 3yrs ago. It hasnt worked properely since I bought it. It refuses to play any dvds without skipping freezing or not even "seeing" the data. Its a very bad purchase. There are many other items out there that not only work but they also have a more cooperative customers service department that are willing to help you to make sure that you are completely satisfied with spending your hard earned money.

I bought this one almost a year and a half ago in maine. I was thrilled to get a machine that didn't take up much space and is a cinch to connect. I am a military wife and we moved to Italy. We now connect it through a transformer due to the electricity and a satalite box. I am able to connect my surround sound speakers to it with ease. Very simple hookup I have not had any problems. I love this machine! Thank you GO VIDEO!
Ugh.......2003-11-15
I was really excited to finally get a DVD player. But I'd only had it about a month when it started to skip scenes and freeze periodically. It wouldn't even play some DVDs that I found played perfectly on my cousin's player. While playing one DVD, it froze every few seconds. This is a horrible player, and it's obviously cheap for a reason.

I am really disappointed in this product. As the title says, I bought one and loved it. Bought a second one for living room and was happy. After about 6 mos, (of course post warranty) mine started showing all DVDs very dark and then light. You couldn't watch a DVD. VCR worked ok. Then the second one started with the same problem. I was VERY upset about this and had no recourse. So I am writing this note hoping it will stop someone else from buying one and experiencing the same problems. As I said, at the get-go the unit was terrific. I expect a DVD to last longer than these did. They were both used by adults and probably used for a max of 2-3 DVDs a week.
Did I replace mine? You bet. I bought a JVC and am happy with it. Just have to keep reading the manual to see how it all works.
Skip Go Video..... save yourself a headache in the long run!

high-end performance.......2002-12-04
I've had these speakers for several years and they are a classic. Speaker designs tend to come and go, and it's great to see that Cambridge knows a good thing when they make it. There is nothing about the performance of these speakers that would lead one to suspect the low price-point. The best thing about the performance is that you would never know that the low-frequencies were coming from a separate box than the satellites. The overall effect is very cohesive. If you are in the market for a sub/sat system, the Ensemble III is a winner.

Other features which make the camera more user friendly and worry-free include a shutter lock that prevents shooting if there is no film in the camera or if no lens is attached to the camera, and an anti-shake warning which can be turned on to prevent the user from taking a picture if the shutter speed is too low for hand-held photography according to the focal length of the lens. Great Beginner's Camera for my 11-year old novice son!.......2007-07-23
We were really pleased with the product. Further, 47thStreet Photo was very responsive from the beginning (invoice, shipping, received). Their one letter that offered a five-year warranty on top of the one year warranty for only $30 was an incredible deal. However, they failed to mention that you only had 30 days from the date of the offer to sign up. We did not have the money on hand until after the 30 days; so we missed out. Despite their prompt replies, I've since written a note to them in reflection of this, but I have not received an answer back (five days).

I bought this phone for its sleek design and affordable price. The first problem I encountered, after the warranty had expired, is the famous battery problem these phones face. No amount of charging or battery swapping could remedy the poor performance of the phone. I would be cut off 15 minutes into the conversation. The second problem I recently faced was the degradation of the sound quality down to unintelligible sounds. Finaly the phone started muting my conversation at random intervals. Very poor performance for a phone.
Great range phone.......2002-09-10
I have three of the HS 8500 phones. My family uses them simultaneously with no cross-interference at distances up to 1/2 mile. No other phone - especially the gigahertz phones - have been this good or this dependable. The battery problem is fixable. For those of you disillusioned with the 8500 or the 9520, I'd like to take them off your hands.

Short usable life.......2002-06-27
About a year after purchasing this phone, it started showing symptoms that the battery was going bad because the handset would stop functioning after 30 minutes of use despite letting it sit in the base for hours. Replaced it with a new battery, and it worked for about a week or so, but then it went completely dead. We don't spend a lot of time on the phone, so it's not like we overused it to death in a matter of weeks. Very disappointed with this phone. I'd rate it 0 stars if that option were available
Not a good buy.......2001-10-03
The quality of sound is terrible. When I plugged in the headset, it didn't get any better - especially for the other party. There's some kind of an echo. I also bought AT&T H8500 which is almost exactly the same phone and it has the same problems.
I like the size. I also like the fact that it charges a spare battery. When power goes out, the spare battery temporarily powers the base so that you don't lose the use of your phone.

I bought this over a year ago and it was an excellent purchase. I plugged a power strip into this, and use it to charge my Compaq Armada laptop, cell phone, and a AAA battery charger all at once without any problems. Having AC power in the car is quite convenient.

I used this converter to power a 13" TV/VCR combo in our van during a long trip recently. It was great. The kids sat in the back and watched movies and it made the trip much nicer. My only complaint is that it goes off when you stop the car and then you have to unplug everything and replug them in when you are ready to use them again. Overall it was great though.

The short answer is that it works great, when plugged in to a car battery (ie via the cigarette lighter port), as it was intended to be used.
It's possible that you could plug this inverter into some hokey battery-charging device meant to 'recharge' your auto battery, but I doubt that you'll get that much power out of it as you only get out most of what you put in.
