I bought this exact DVD recorder from QVC for $[...]. It was not user friendly for recording and I wound up just using it as a second DVD player. I have it 2 years but used it maybe 50 times. I can't get the disk tray open and my 3 1/2 year old's Nemo DVD is stuck in there. I contacted GoVideo via email since all other ways were impossible and this is the response I got today and I quote: "Go Video no longer offers tech support or customer service." Hello! I looked up reviews on all GoVideo products offered now or at one time from Amazon and they are all basically the same as mine. Stay away from this brand!

Go.Video is out of business.

After 18 months, this unit's motherboard failed. Under a service contract, a local repair shop was stalled by Go.Video for two months before acknowledging that no replacement was available. My service contract provider will now only authorize $129.98 to replace the unit because "the marketplace"(Amazon)has set this price for the unit. As with the AKAI DVDRW120, which shares the underlying hardware and firmware, this unit has a sketchy reliability record.

Choose Something Else.......2006-05-13

I have been a GoVideo owner since 2004. I purchased this unit from a tv shopping channel and it had given relatively good service since its initial use. The unit recently stopped working and I have had a very difficult time in finding anyone here who repairs this equipment. The name/number that I given by the company's tech. support was not even accurate. When I called the repair shop, I was told they had never been connected with or did they ever submit any info. to GoVideo that they were a factory authorized service center. The other complaint that I have is that of the durablility of the product. My initial investment in 2004 was about $300. I would have expected a product under normal use to last for sometime longer than a couple of years. I have recently purchased a new unit and have stared again. Hopefully, this product will be somewhat more durable than the GoVideo product. And, hopefully, their tech. support and information will be a great deal more accurate.

This DVDR lasted 15 months. It was plagued by intermittant operation and now the door won't open. Can't recommend this one.

Don't Buy It.......2006-03-09

My recorder broke just after a year. It won't format, the disc door won't open, etc... Also, you can't edit your recorder such as erasing the commericals to fit more tv show. I will not buy another GoVideo product. However, I do recommend using American Express Blue Cash to buy your electronics. Their Buyer Assurance program extended the warranty of my purchase by another year. AE credit my credit card the original purchase price instead of having me get the DVD recorder fix. I am very happy with AE. I am going to charge all my purchases with AE from now on. AE is how every company to run their business.

There's a reason it's this cheap. It's just not a great phone. Not a lot of thought went into its design. For example, it has caller ID and you can scroll through the numbers. But you can't actually call them. Because the phone doesn't realize that most people have to use a 1 when dialing any area code now. Even my previous phone did that.

Good phone for a good price.......2007-03-26

We've had problems with other cordless phones, but so far this one has none of them. Interference from the microwave, disconnecting and losing their charge if you set them down at all ungently, random static issues (probably from EMI or RFI). That's how our old phone was. This one works great. The only thing that's at all annoying is that everytime I pick up the handset, I hit the volume button - it's just in the wrong place, but that's not a big deal as it's simple to adjust.

Excellent, but had day of week problem.......2007-02-24

The telephone and answering system have all the features we could ever want. However, the day of the week would not advance (always on Tuesday for example). Homeand beyond was extremely helpful and we are about to receive a replacement. I highly recommend homeandbeyond.

Great Phone.......2007-01-16

I really like this phone and I've been pretty hard to please when it comes to other cordless models. I'd all but given up on anything cordless thinking my house was just incompatible with the current technology. This system changed my mind. I have to agree with the previous review about the battery issue, however. Mine lasted about 18 months and then I had to search for replacements. It was a pain in the neck, but I like the phone and really wanted to keep it. Finally I found a number of battery suppliers on EBAY selling replacements for under six dollars. I've bookmarked those sellers and I'm happily keeping this phone.

Don't Waste Your Money.......2007-01-11

I've purchaseed two At&T phone systems. In both cases, in a little over one year of use the batteries needed to be replaced, which may be reasonable considering the heavy use the phones got. However, what I do not feel is reasonable is that in both cases I was unable to purchase a replacement battery from the store where I made the purchase(Target), or any other retailer selling phone batteries in Minneapolis. The modelshad been "discontinued" and the replacement batteries were available only from AT&T at a cost of aboout $20.00 each, plus a shipping cost of $12.00. In both cases AT&T was still making and selling a very similiar phone (cordless, two handset 2.4 GHZ system), but the battery was not compatable.

great phone.......2005-04-06

I had a simpler AT&T wireless phone. The phone was good, but the battery started not holding a charge long and it was cheaper to buy another phone than replace the battery, so I went phone looking. This one is really a great one, with a lot of features that you generally see in phones that cost twice this.

What I really like about it: Two lines. Each lines are clearly displayed with their own settings. You can control the ringer on the be base and the phone itself. You can have the base ring - or not - as each line has its own high, medium and off switch. Have one right and not the other. Turn both off. The same option with the handset. Each line can ring on the handset or not. Have 1 ring and 2 off. This is handy for Fax set ups.

The programing is simple. You want a distinct ring for each line, then you click it that line, punch 1,2,3,4 on the number pad and it will change the tone. Click select and you are ready. This is handy with two lines - you can have a separate ring for each. The button for each is clearly set on the handset. 1 and 2 buttons that are dial tone buttons. The volume for the handset it on the side. You don't have to change that in menu like I've always done on other wireless. So you can change this in the middle of the call without peeping in the callers ear!

It has mute controls for the base and the handset - for both lines again. Speaker-phone on the base. So if the handset is left at the other end of the house you can still take calls from the base. Hold, line-in-use indicator, a data port, intercom, pager, base-dialling and 2.4 GHz make this one sound like the caller is in the other room. 50 name in directory. The handset it nice and "solid". Read out for caller ID easy to read for this baby boomer.

So for the price you really cannot beat this one!

Good phone with unique feature combinations.......2004-10-01

There may be better cordless phones but this had the right combo of required features that were hard to match in other products - it supports 2 lines, caller ID, has an alert light for phone company voicemail, had a keypad on both the base and the handset, speakerphone, etc. Also, it uses 2.4Ghz channel 1 and to date it hasn't conflicted with my two 802.11 Wi-Fi network access points running on channels 6 and 11.

The main annoyance so far is a loud clicking sound on the handset earpiece when a call comes in on the other line, even with the alternate line ringer turned off. If you get freequent calls on a secondary line that might be a consideration.

A good phone is hard to find.......2004-09-02

I spend around 90 bucks for this phone at staples for my small home based business. At first it seems to have a lot of neat features but falls short when it comes to call quality. I have friends with $15 v-tech phones that sound better than this! There is static on the line and the tones for the buttons are so loud they'll blow your eardrums out while the voice tones stay too quite to hear. They are both on the same speaker so you can't adjust them independently. I suggest AT&T go back to the drawing board on this one. If I was going to spend $70-$90 on a phone again I would definately not buy this one. I think I will have to resort to buying a much more expensive phone to get the quality needed for a business phone although I've heard that even at $500 there's a lack of call quality. I may be switching to a VOIP system anyway so maybe I'll have better luck in that market.

No voice-mail feature.......2004-08-04

If like me you're buying this phone after reading the feature "visual message-waiting indicator" and thinking that this phone has a voice-mail system, then read this: this phone does not have a digital answering system in-built! It just uses your phone company's voicemail indicator (if you have that facility). So I am returning mine.
