This is a great addition to a small office.......2007-08-09

Ive had the Dymo LabelWriter400 Turbo for over a year now. It works great. Im glad we found it. It's a lot easier than the old method of printing an envelope in the printer- which didnt work well at all- or printing the name on a label sheet. This printer creates and spits out a self-adhesive label very quickly and easily with no fuss, adds the correct zip code/street name and postal bar code, and makes letters look very professional. The software it comes with is simple and straightforward. It has a thermal printer and requires no ink refills. You can creat simple address labels, postage for packages, return address, and large shipping labels with custom logos, graphics, etc. There are dozens of label choices. The labels are cheap- especially since many vendors sell identical label replacement rolls for 40% less than the Dymo brand labels. If you mail 5-15 letters a day as we do, this is great way to go.

An Indispensable Tool for Any Frequent Mailer.......2007-07-30

As an avid ham radio operator, I sometimes send out dozens of QSL cards in the mail on a given day. Being able to quickly and easily address them makes my hobby much more enjoyable. I bought this LabelWriter after previously having owned its predecessor. That label printer gave me a long, reliable product life, so I didn't hesitate to buy another similar Dymo product. I haven't been disappointed. This printer prints quickly, quietly, and reliably, and is bundled with excellent label printing software. Labels are readily available. What more could I ask?

Good printer and good service........2007-07-14

The first unit that we received failed after 3 days. Fortunately, a quick call to Dymo's support line had a replacement printer to us in just a few days. So far it's working as advertised.

I wish the printer had an on/off switch. This unit is always on. If you have to reset the printer, which we did several times when the first one failed, you must pull the power plug. The power plug is very inconvenient to access.

Good hardware but terrible software.......2007-07-09

The software for the labelwriter is truly awful and some of it damages other applications. If you use Microsoft Word with other applications that share startup manipulation of the Tools menu, you will find that the DYMO startup file, DYMOWordAddin.dot, will destroy all the other starup commands of applications such as Adobe pdfwriter, Endnote, and others. These applications will no longer appear in the menu, but the DYMO application will. This is doubly insulting because the DYMO addon is itself dysfunctional. The only safe way to create labels is to use the DYMO label application, which works reasonably well, although it too is unable to position graphics and writing with the necessary flexibility.

If you run into problems after installation, find the word startup folder and remove any addins with DYMO in them. This is a cross platform problem that involves Win XP and Mac OSX. Once the DYMO files are removed, Word returns to proper function.

The software is terrible, but the hardware is excellent. Although the labels are rather expensive, the printing is clear and crisp and one has access to all of the fonts on your computer. If is hoped that DYMO will put a greater effort into the software in the future so that their total product is as good as the hardware they sell.

Better than advertised.......2007-06-08

I am very pleased with this device, especially with it's postage capabilities.

How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about. Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.

The 256MB SECUREDIGITAL CARD, like most 256MB cards, will store on average 284 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 213 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera, 128 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 102 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 80 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.

I truly hope this review was helpful to you in determining whether this card is the right capacity for your specific needs.

This was flimsy and I got it as a gift. No one wanted it, and it was referred to as cheap. Then, even when I found someone to take it, it didn't even work. To pay shipping both ways wouldn't even make the refund worth while. It is going right into the garbage.

When I first got this item I really only got it because it had changable covers. But after a while they became a hastle and were useless. It also broke within the year. At first I thought it was the batteries but it wasn't. I do not recomend this item.

I bought this cd player expecting the usually good quality I receive from target's merchandise. Not this time. First time I used it,it skipped all the time. The second time I used it,it played for maybe five minutes and then I got a DISC error message and no play. Third time the thing just would not play. Defective with little support.......2006-07-14

Got the hard drive in the mail, plugged it in and while my computer recognized a USB device attaching, it was unable to properly recognize the hard drive. After 2 wasted hours trying to get it to work, I realized I was simply unlucky enough to get a defective drive. During those 2 hours I discovered:
- Cavalry's US support site is basically a form to fill out and 40 unanswered user-submitted questions
- Cavalry's "support" CD is a labyrinth of EVERY driver Cavalry makes, all stored in cryptically named folders.
- The small amount of included documentation is in terribly broken english and Chinese characters.

I threw it back in its box and returned it, and bought a wonderful Lacie drive the same night from a local store (I needed something immediately.

You can get better quality and support from other products at the same price range.
