Great camera and it has a focus for close ups........2007-04-14

I just bought my 3rd. The first one I dropped too many times. The second one I lost. I just don't see anything better on the market.

Cons: The battery compartment door doesn't lock as well as it could and the batteries sometimes fall out at inconvenient times. The color makes it seem kind of toyish. It has XP issues, but the work-around program seemed to work good enough. I've not used it for a web cam on XP though. It worked fine with Win/98 though.

Pros: Its lens can be focused for close ups; this is a rare feature for small web/digital cams as many can't focus on anything under 3 feet. Picture quality is very good. I use a digital camera for work but the battery life of my 'good' camera is just ridiculously short. I use this as a replacement as the images are fine for most outdoor shots.

Good but has XP problems.......2006-01-12

This camera has amazing quality, no doubt. I've had one for a long time and coming from someone who has owned a total of 8+ webcams in her life, trust me when I say this was the best one I've had. However, this camera has issues with Windows XP. Even after downloading the patch on their website, the camera will still "scramble" it's pictures if you leave it on for longer than 5 minutes when using it as a webcam. So if you're doing a live feed to your website, every now and then it will scramble all the pixels on the feed. If you can deal with that, the camera is worth it. But if you plan on going live on cam for hours at a time, I would not recommend this camera. Go for something newer.

Very durable and great........2005-05-05

I own it and it has been droped many times since santa gave it to me (about 2001 0r 2002). When I got it for christmas, it did not work with win xp or win 2000. My dad got me a program from intel's website wich would download the all the pictures on the camera. Now I use a driver from the same website. Then, I used the driver that came with the camera on an Win 98 pc. Today I use it a lot. It still works. Intel no longer sells this line.

I have had limited exposure to video recording, but much use of Intel products, including the stock making me a first generation millionaire! I was skeptical about this product, given the lens configuration, data processing, and some other concerns.

I was amazed! I have a $5000 Sony that is a great videocam, and I can't tell any quality in the film I make with the INtel cam as with the Sony! It even does a terrific job in outdoor, nature photography, which was much more than I expected.

Per dollar this is THE BEST PRODUCT of any kind I have bought in 5 years! I just wish INTEL would go ahead and make the whole darn desktop and laptop computer!

Wonderful Camera, worth every cent........2003-05-13

The Intel Pocket PC Camera is a great camera to own. I find the quality to be AMAZING. Sure it has no flash, but that's one thing i can live without seeing as to how i have ANOTHER camera with a flash that i use for backup. Anyhow, the CCD Sensor is probably the best thing about it. CMOS sensor cameras are usually [bad]and you can't see colors in shady areas (non-lit areas). The intel is very easy to operate and anybody could figure it out. The software is wonderful and the webcam is too. This whole camera is a great buy...the pictures will blow you away, just like it did to me. I have the rare black one so it looks less childish, heh. :o)

Best Camera I have found for the money.......2002-11-24

This camera for the monies spent is 10 times what I had anticipated but should have known better. Seeing what Intel has done with the Pentium Four, I would have expected none the less. I only wish that Intel gets back into manufacturing cameras again. It is a fantastic Web Camera with sound, it is a great recorder of sound and WOW to the concept of digital video making. It's the best investment I have made next to purchasing my home and my automobile.

I just went to hawaii about 3 weeks ago and took my handy Intel camera with me. I set the camera on medium (so i could take a LOT of pictures) and it took the most beautiful pictures imaginable. Armed with 2 - 128mb smart media cards and the on board, i could take around 1700 pictures if i ever so desired.
I ended up taking about 250 picutres and about 25 videos.
the picture quality is EXCELENT and the videos are very smooth AND HAVE SOUND.

This is the perfect item for the average, non-techie who just wants to take pictures to keep or e-mail to friends. It's simple to install and use and there's tons of great stuff in the program to play around with. I recommend it highly for people who don't want to get swamped with technicalities or complicated computer manipulation. It's simple, it takes great pictures and it's inexpensive. Great for beginners and amateurs like me.

Versatile little starter cam........2002-04-22

This camera is very versatile if you are looking for a good starter camera.I have taken quite a few 10 second videos when I'm not hooked up to my pc,this I find very accomadating because it is an improvement over the still photo,especially when you have relatives who live abroad like I do .It's only shortcoming is that it craves proper lighting and it lacks a zoom lens.Other than that I am in love with this little baby's capabilities.

Intel created another great product. I work with teachers helping them integrate technology into their curriculums. We have been using Intel's microscopes, pocket pc cameras for over two years, and now Pocket Digital PC Camera. I have found the hardware and software dependable and easy to use, which means my teachers and students use them a lot. The Intel Pocket Digital PC Camera produces great pictures, movies and sound with minimal effort. The software and camera are easy to install and use. My first impressions are very good - you won't go wrong with the purchase.

pretty junky.......2007-06-08

this thing probably isn't worth it, even for this small price. sound quality is middlish, the caller ID screen went out within a year, it's IMPOSSIBLE to figure out what all the buttons do -- I mean AT&T, c'mon, put a little effort in DESIGN! really, simple things like setting the time and changing your outgoing message are really hard. luckily amazon has a link to the product manual, or I would have thrown it away a long time ago.

Plenty of great features but.........2004-10-22

I've had this phone a little over a year, and now the LCD is starting to miss some of the numbers/letters. If I want to write a number from someone, forget it, its illegible. The amount of room on the voice list is great, the audio on the outgoing voicemail message is a little fussy. However, the incoming messages are very clear. I found that it losses time, so the clock on the phonebase has to be reset constantly which is an annoyance. I think I will try Panasonic or Sony on my next go round.

Speakerphone died after about a year.......2004-10-12

It sounded garbled and staticky when using the speakerphone and the caller id lcd screen broke. It is unreadable as well. Didn't last long.

Bad quality on answering machine messages.......2004-07-26

I bought this phone to replace my six year old Panasonic digital machine/phone combo that had begun to act flaky. I hoped that I would also get better sound quality with messages since computer memory and processing power have gotten much cheaper since 1998. Unfortunately the messages on this machine are worse than my old Panasonic, which weren't great to begin with. I also was annoyed by the feature that plays back the date, time, number of messages, etc. before it will play your messages: my old phone does this but the AT&T speaks v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y so you have to wait until it finishes its spiel before you can hear your messages (even if it's an old message). The sound quality of phone calls themselves are fine. I didn't try any other features because the message quality was poor enough that I'm returning it. Fortunately Amazon makes that easy and painless -- go Amazon!

Great design, but easily broken.......2003-12-03

I loved this phone. I loved it so much I've purchaced 2 of them. Now I'll admit, I'm rough on phones, but both managed to become unusable within one year of purchace. That is really my only gripe.

Now the good stuff. The design is good. I like the phone, the number of mailboxes, the answering system was great. The caller ID was a tad slow, but not any more than my other caller ids. Overall it was a good phone, but not meant for long term hard heavy usage.

I've purchased 6 of these radios. They work very well and have the added bonus of being very small. I have not found any smaller. Great for taking along on vacation trips to let the group split up and stay in contact. Great in big department stores or sporting events, too -- your group can split up and stay in contact. Good battery life -- fresh batteries last for several days of 24 hr use. 14 channels x 38 subchannels each is enough to find a clear channel even in large crowds, like theme parks. Range is good. Have used them when staying in different hotels to keep group in contact. Simple to use -- children can use them. Good value for price. Great for security and safety purposes for you group.

I made the mistake of getting a Microboards DX1 instead of a Primera and it was a NIGHTMARE!!! I can't stress that enough. I'm not here to review Microboards, I did that for the Microboards Print Factory, so read up on that review if you want to see what I hated about it.

In the end I sold the Microboards and bought a Primera Bravo II, and I love it. I have gone through over 2000 discs so far without a single hitch. The arm works flawlesly with picking up discs.

If you're in the market for a duplicator, or just a printer model, do yourself a favor and pick up a Primera. They are usually cheaper and INFINITELY more reliable. Get one and just enjoy the piece of mind.

Takes a load off!.......2006-08-17

I'm the sole proprietor of a small company and we sell health related DVDs. I used to have to check on my PC every 5 minutes when duplicating, then stick the labels on them individually. Now, I just toss a bundle into the machine, it prints my design right on the disc, then I just remove the finished stack. The automated arm is exciting to watch... the first few times.

It's quiet, inexpensive, and gets the job done w/out headache. Saves me a lot of time!!! Plus, it's easy to operate.
