2 out of 5 stars don't buy.......2007-05-24

I've had this camera for a couple of years now. I can't wait to get a new one. The battery life on this camera is next to nothing. I go through about 4 batteries a day if I'm taking a lot of pictures. The quality of the pictures isn't ver good either. The flash tends to drown people out after a while. Spend the extra money to get a better quality camera.

2 out of 5 stars Not a very good camera.......2006-12-24

This camera lasted me a couple years but I can't wait to get a new one. The picture quality is frustrating, especially when you're trying to use a flash. Plus, the battery runs out EXTREMELY fast no matter how long you charge. I wouldn't recommend it.

5 out of 5 stars Couldn't be more pleased.......2006-10-29

unless I bought a camera at twice the price and this one was high when I bought it 2 1/2 years ago. I have taken over 3400 photos and have had absplutely NO mechanical problems. However, I am cheap and take care of my stuff. I think I have dropped it twice since I had it but no damage.
I have heard many horrible reports about quality but who knows how it was treated. Overall, picture quality is amazing. The 10x zoom quality is not too good so I use the 3x optical mostly and it is excellent.
I have taken it to Disney World and an Alaskan cruise and it performed great. I did buy a Duracell fast charger with 4 2400mAh rechargable batteries so I would not have to lug the dock around to charge the batteries. Battery life is quite good for Duracell and the Kodak pack but I carried a spare with me in the Alaska wilderness.
My 10 year old grand-daughter uses the camera with ease and takes good photos. I am now looking for a good used one (cheap) for her as I want to keep mine. My 5 year old grandson can also take photos with it but some are blurry since he can't hold still.
The only thing I don't like about it is that the flash is not good at any distamce over about 10 feet. Like at a basketball game and I want to shoot my granddaughter. The flash actually makes the picture very dark and it is better to turn the flash off. Surprisingly, then it makes pretty good photos and of course they can be easily enhanced with the software.
I wouldn't want to buy another one if it was not good.

1 out of 5 stars Don't buy It!.......2006-05-23

This camera was my first digital camera. I was lured to it by the cheesy commercials about how easy the pictures were to print from the dock. God, was I naive.
Pros:
The dock does print pictures quite effectively (although at great cost)

Cons:
The dial at the top is nearly impossible to turn.
The battery is CRAP. I will charge this thing the whole day, then use it for twenty pictures and it will be showing low battery. This is with the rechargeable battery, which you need the bulky dock to charge.
Frequent problems with loading to computer.
Very slow to turn on.

Please, for god's sake, learn from my mistake.

Product Description

There are pictures to shoot, masterpieces to create. With the DX4330, you'll have the features you'll need to do it all. This is one powerful camera. But don't be fooled - the Kodak EasyShare DX4330 zoom digital camera is also amazingly simple. You'll be impressed with the Indoor/Outdoor LCD as well as the exceptional-quality prints you can create - in sizes up to 11" x 14" (28 cm x 36 cm) enlargements. Plus, with creative settings such as landscape, night, and sports scene modes, you'll get the exact look you want.

Amazon.com Product Description

Powerful and packed with advanced features--yet decidedly easy to use--the Kodak DX4330 offers a 3-megapixel CCD sensor and a 3x optical zoom lens. The DX4330 also features automatic scene modes, a 16 MB internal memory, and a new indoor-outdoor LCD for reviewing your shots in even the sunniest of conditions.

Optics and Resolution
The DX4330 delivers vivid and consistent color images up to 2,160 x 1,400 pixels, which produces print sizes up to 11 by 14 inches. Zoom into the action with a 3x optical zoom, equivalent to 38-114mm in a 35mm camera. When combined with the 3.3x digital zoom, you get a total zoom of 10x. It has an aperture range of f2.8-f5.1 and a shutter speed of 1/2 to 1/1,700 of a second.

Storage and Transfer
The DX4330 is always ready to go with its 16 MB of internal memory, and it can be expanded via MultiMediaCard (MMC) and Secure Digital (SD) memory cards.

The Share button on the back of the DX4330 enables you to tag pictures right on the camera for automatic printing or e-mailing after transferring them to your PC. You can even store up to 32 e-mail addresses in the camera. With the optional Kodak EasyShare camera dock, transferring your pictures from the camera to a PC is as easy as pushing a single button. Also, when docked, the DX4330's batteries are recharged in 2.5 hours or less.

Movie Mode
In movie mode, the DX4330 captures continuous video and audio, which can then be played back via the camera's LCD and built-in speaker. The limited resolution of your movies guarantees that this feature won't replace your camcorder, but it's perfect for when you just want to capture a quick movie and e-mail it to a friend or relative.

More Features
Preview and review your shots easily on the DX4330's 1.8-inch indoor-outdoor LCD, which lets you maintain exceptional viewing quality even in bright sunlight. You can also magnify shots that you review in the LCD by 2x or 4x.

From landscape to sports, easy-to-access scene modes take care of the details so you can consistently get the perfect shot. Use the DX4330's creative modes for even more photo flair.

Power
The DX4330 is powered by a CR-V3 lithium battery (included) or optional NiMH rechargeable batteries that are charged by the optional EasyShare dock. We recommend getting a set or two of rechargeable nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries and a charger.

Size and Contents
The DX4330 measures 4.4 by 2.6 by 1.9 inches and weighs 7.4 ounces without batteries. This package includes the DX4330 digital camera, CR-V3 lithium battery, AV and USB cables, wrist strap, lens cap and strap, and Kodak EasyShare CD-ROM.

4 out of 5 stars Kodak EasyShare DX4330 3MP Digital Camera w/3x Optical Zoom.......2007-03-20

I had some initial problems with the camera after purchase, and had to return it to Kodak twice for repairs. But since then it has worked fine. I enjoy the Kodak picture program that came with the camera, although it does not offer all the possibilities of the Adobe Photo House program. Camera is convenient and easy to use, and I'm sure it is capable of doing much more than I have discovered to this point.

5 out of 5 stars Own over 3yr now.......2006-07-17

I LOVE THIS CAMERA! I bought it just over 3 yrs ago after my youngest son was born. It is so easy to use, so much it can do. I did have 1 digital camera before this and to download the pictures I would spend a frustrating 30 minutes every time to get my computer to 'see' it. My husband doesn't like 'complicated' electronics but he will use this. Much to my joy I receive e-mailed pictures from him every couple of weeks (I am currently deployed to Iraq). Since being here a few other people have been interested in buying a digital camera and I HIGHLY recommended a Kodak Easyshare. I actually wish Kodak would start making digital video cameras. This is the next step for video and I would defiantly by one...

5 out of 5 stars Camera ROCKS! Easy, Great Pics, and I LOVE the charging Dock.......2006-01-25

This is the easiest to use digital camera I have ever seen. It has the ability to take movies, and even has different modes (auto, sports, macro, low-light, and ZOOM)... all without making it complicated. That's why this camera is good for beginners and experienced users alike (enough options for many of us, but easy for the novices). It has a 1.8inch viewable LCD. I've found that the cams with bigger screens used up batteries to fast, and those with smaller screens just weren't big enough to see. This camera has INTERNAL MEMORY. A big plus because many digital cameras only rely on memory cards. Also, you have the option of using SD memory cards if you want. They're cheaper than SONY memory stick, more compact that Compact Flash cards, and are so versitile because it's the same size that fits into PDA's such as palm-pilots. This makes it especially handy. The flash is easy to use on this camera and isn't overpowerful like my last camera. It's bright enough without drowning out the image with white flash.

Only drawback is that the Dock is usually sold seperately. I suggest you buy it bundled with the Dock (charges batteries) to save serious $$ on batteries. You can also always use regular AA batteries in a pinch.

4 out of 5 stars A good first Camera........2005-05-08

I am an aspiring photographer. I received this camera as a gift and I like it quite a bit. I've outgrown the camera and am upgrading to the Canon EOS 20D. However, I highly reccommend this camera to beginners. It takes AMAZING landscape photographs. It's light, durable and fun. This would be a good camera for families, as well. I think it's the best camera for beginners.

Some of its downfalls are:
- You cant take on the spot pictures. It takes a second to capture the image. My dog is notorious for turning his head just as I hit the button. Henceforth, this makes it a bad camera for action shots.
- I do photography of a local band and this camera is not very good for photographing indoors in low light.
- The video funtion is pretty much useless, as the sound quality is horrible.
- The lens cap pops right off.

I've had no problems otherwise and have had the camera for almost 2 years. Again, I think this is a great camera. I tried to upload my photography on here, but after spending all the time choosing them, writing captions and such, it had problems and didn't upload them. I'd be happy to share some of them with anyone. I have quite a few that I've made no adjustments to, so you can see how good the quality is. Just drop me an email on here.

4 out of 5 stars great pictures.......2004-11-26

I had 3 digital cameras, that was the first one. I had also casio z40 and kodak ls743. I would never get rid of 4330, but I could not stand battery life.. I had 4 2000mah and I had to charge them all the time.. the other thing was size of this camera , kinda big, and that cover/cap..
But the pictures was incerdibly good, colors were natural, super pix in low light.. I hope I find similar quality camera with diferent kind of battery .

With 8MB of internal memory, you'll never miss a shot. If you use the Kodak EasyShare Camera Dock, sharing is just as easy. Simply place your DX3215 in the dock, touch the button, and pictures are automatically sent to your computer ready for e-mailing and printing. The Camera Dock will also recharge your camera's battery pack, so you'll always be ready to take more pictures.

    Amazon.com Product Description

Kodak's DX3215 sets new standards for simplicity and picture quality in an entry-level digital camera. The 1.3-megapixel resolution captures plenty of detail for most needs, producing sharp prints at sizes up to 5 by 7 inches. A lower-resolution 640 x 480 (0.3 megapixel) mode is perfect for pictures you're sharing online, and lets you store four times as many images in the camera's memory.

The DX3215 is clearly designed for people who prefer a camera that's easy to use to one that's packed with manual controls--it's a true point-and-shoot. Turn it on, aim, and press the button, and the camera does the rest, selecting exposure and activating the flash when necessary. The photographer does have a few options, including a 2x optical zoom lens to aid in image composition, plus manual control of the flash (if desired).

Numerous battery options make it easy to keep the camera ready for action. For the longest life between changes, use a disposable CRV3 lithium battery (included). A more environmentally friendly solution is to use a pair of rechargeable nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) AA batteries, or the rechargeable battery pack that comes with the optional dock. If you're on vacation and you've run out of power, you can throw in any pair of ordinary AA batteries. Though this is a very handy option, it's also an expensive one, as alkalines have a relatively short lifespan in a digital camera.

Transferring images to your computer is also a snap with the included Kodak software and USB cable. Simply connect the cable between the camera and your Mac or PC, launch the software, and start moving your pictures.

For even simpler operation, pick up the optional docking station. Drop the camera into the dock, press the button, and images are transferred automatically. In addition, an included battery pack recharges automatically when the camera is in the dock.

Images are stored in the camera's 8 MB of internal RAM--enough memory for 20 high-resolution photos or 80 low-resolution snapshots. Memory capacity can be increased with the use of MMC MultiMedia memory cards, which is a smaller (and less common, though still readily available) format than either SmartMedia or CompactFlash.

To keep the price low, Kodak has omitted a few options often found on more expensive cameras. The lens is focus-free instead of autofocus, and the included memory is internal instead of removable. In addition, the 1.6-inch LCD viewscreen on the back of the camera is a touch smaller than the screens found on some competing models. For most people, these shortcomings are unlikely to have a major impact on image quality or overall enjoyment of the camera.

If you're currently using a basic point-and-shoot film camera, the DX3215 is a great way to get into digital photography. It's simple to operate, is a fraction of the price of more advanced models, and the pictures look great, both on your computer screen and at print sizes up to 5 by 7 inches.

    2 out of 5 stars overpriced!.......2006-01-01

this camera is very big and has a tiny screen. it loads things very slow and the pictures never really turn out that good. im surprised that people are still selling it when there are newer, nicer cameras for half the price.

5 out of 5 stars Still clicking after 2 years.......2004-04-18

I have used the Kodak DX3215 for more than 2 years without having any problems. I have the docking device and keep the camera there to recharge batteries when I am home. Away from home I use the lithium batteries. I take many snapshots, and use the Kodak software to edit, store, and print them. I am not a professional photographer, but knowledgeable about point and shoot basics. I found this camera as easy to use as my Ricoh 135mm camera, but now prefer this one because I can edit and print the photos myself.

4 out of 5 stars Nice quality Megapixel camera.......2003-07-30

I think this camera would rate higher if the price were more in line with the cheap 1.3 Megapixel competition. I bought this item for half the listed price, or my rating might be somewhat different. This camera takes excellent photos that will print at near-photo quality up to 5x7 inches. It's not a truly high-resolution camera, but for snapshots, photos for Web use, and even spot photos for press it will do the job nicely. The overall photo quality and color balance is excellent, although images are little grainy indoors by artificial light w/o flash. The impressive thing is that it actaully takes photos indoors by artificial light w/o flash. So far the auto focus has resulted in perfectly focused images every time, with fast exposures that help prevent blurriness from unsteady hands. The macro-focus also results in excellent, sharp images from less than a foot away. The interface is easy to grasp, and not too difficult to set up. I've been very impressed so far with the quality of the images.

Its major drawback, in my opinion, is the lack of features which far cheaper digital cameras include. I own a Concord Eye Q Duo 1300, which takes acceptable photos at the same resolution, but also has a self-timer and video clip capability ... at 1/3 the list price for the Kodak. For the price, I would expect the Kodak to include a few more more bells and whistles.

Like all digital cameras I've had to deal with, the Kodak eats batteries like candy. Be sure to buy lots of batteries, or have a couple of sets of rechargeable batteries to rotate through.

1 out of 5 stars Don't bother with this one!.......2003-07-28

I've owned a Kodak DC280 for a few years and was always happy with it. When it was time to purchase a new digital camera for work, I thought this would be the perfect one. I'm a real estate appraiser, and I don't really need a high megapixel camera, just one that gives good, clear images, and can hold alot in the memory. When the DX3215 arrived the first thing I couldn't get used to was how light it was. It just felt kind of cheap. Well I didn't have any problems with it the first couple of days, but then a couple of things happened and have continued to consistently happen. You have to make sure that the picture you take actually gets saved to the memory card. The image shows up in the LCD screen, but then it doesn't get saved. The green status light just keeps blinking and the only way to reset the camera is to open the battery cover. I thought maybe it was just this camera and I'd return it, until my partner told me she has the same problem with hers. This is really a big problem in my line of work, because I'm driving all over, taking pictures of houses. I don't have time to just jump back in the car and reshoot photos. The other day the camera acted like it had saved the images, but when I returned to the office, I was missing two critical pictures. Then it will sometimes tell you that there is a problem with the memory card and it has to be formatted. This has never been the case, and all you have to do is turn off the camera and turn it back on. Good thing too when you've already taken 20 pictures.
Whatever you do, don't get this camera.

    2 out of 5 stars frustrating!!.......2003-05-08

Simply put this camera is the most annoying camera I have ever used. I expected so much more from Kodak. The buttons are too tiny to press, it is extremely slow and 95% of the time it does not do what you want to do. The preview feature rarely works even after you press the "select" button. Try deleting photos from the memory takes about five mintues because it will not respond and you have to turn it off, wait to reset and turn it back on again. The worst part is the camera will take one photo and then shut off. I have used several batteries and charged the PROPERLY, but the camera drains them all after one or two photos. I contacted Kodak Customer Service and they would not even help me. I was shocked. You would think a big company like Kodak would have great customer service. Well, you would be wrong. They basically told me that I don't know how to use the camera. Trust me, this is the most frustrating camera.

If you have a great deal of patience then maybe this would be good for you because it is extremely easy to use -- when it actually works -- and the price is reasonable. Just be prepared for a lot of headaches.

    Product Description

Life is spontaneous. So you need a camera that can capture all of its special moments. Check out the Kodak EasyShare DX3700. It has 3.1-megapixel resolution for excellent picture quality - up to 11" x 14" - for those pictures you'll want to share with family and friends. And when it comes to getting closer to the fun, the 3x digital zoom does the job. The DX3700 has 8MB of internal memory built right in so you'll never miss a shot. If you've filled your camera to capacity but there are still great pictures to be taken, don't worry - the DX3700 has a MultiMediaCard/Secure Digital memory card (MMC/SD) expansion slot, so you'll have plenty of memory to keep on shooting with optional MMC/SD memory cards. If you use the optional Kodak EasyShare Camera Dock, sharing is just as easy. Simply place your DX3700 in the dock, touch the button, and pictures are automatically sent to your computer ready for e-mailing and printing. The Camera Dock will also recharge your camera's battery pack, so you'll always be ready to take more pictures.

    Amazon.com Product Description

For maximum print quality at a minimum price, look no further than the DX3700. With most manufacturers, camera resolution and features go hand-in-hand: basic point-and-shoot models typically come with low-resolution image sensors, while high-resolution cameras are packed with bells and whistles that add to the product's price and complexity. The DX3700 is different. It's a basic point-and-shoot with few advanced features, but its sensor is a high-resolution 3.1-megapixel model for sharp prints at 8 by 10 inches and beyond. If you're looking for an affordable camera that captures sharp, detailed digital snapshots, the DX3700 is a great choice.

Because the DX3700 is designed for ease of use, it offers photographers few manual controls. The flash can be set to on, off, auto, or red-eye reduction, and the focus can be set to macro (for extreme close-ups) or standard. Otherwise, the camera automatically adjusts all settings. There's also a digital zoom, which makes objects appear closer, but be aware that the camera does this by cropping away the outer edges of a photo and enlarging what's left, reducing the image quality of the zoomed photo. It's a handy feature, and the photos still look clear, but your zoomed photos won't have the same detail as those taken with a 3-megapixel camera with optical zoom.

As with all EasyShare cameras, an optional dock makes it even easier to transfer pictures and keep your camera's batteries charged.

A word about memory cards: to keep costs low, the camera uses internal memory for image storage. If you're taking pictures at the camera's highest quality setting, you'll be able to take around eight photos before filling the memory, necessitating a trip to your computer to transfer the images, erase the memory, and start shooting again. If you're looking for more capacity, the camera uses either MMC (MultiMediaCard) or SD (Secure Digital) cards for additional storage. The two cards look the same and, in a digital camera, function identically (the SD cards offer some additional copyright management features when used with MP3 music players). Among memory cards, there are currently several competing formats, including CompactFlash, SmartMedia, and Memory Stick. Though MMC/SD is a relatively unusual format for digital cameras, it is popular in MP3 players, camcorders (for "digital still" mode), and some models of Palm handhelds. Large-capacity cards are readily available--a 128 MB card, for example, holds over 100 photos.

The DX3700 comes with disposable batteries, video cable (for viewing photos on a TV), USB cable (for transferring images to your computer), wrist strap, lens cap, software, manual, and a custom insert for use with the optional docking station. Everything you need to get started is included in the box, but to make the most of your camera, we recommend getting a carrying case, a higher-capacity MMC or SD memory card, and either a set of rechargeable batteries or the EasyShare dock. Compatible accessories are listed higher up on this page.

For crystal-clear prints and simple operation at an affordable price, the DX3700 is an excellent choice.

5 out of 5 stars Buyers are no longer Readers.......2006-12-23

If you expect to get a camera and never read instructions on how to use it then rate this camera poorly. Most customers out there now days want everything to work with little effort. They are lazy and illiterate. Read the instructions that come with this product and it will not give you problems.
The issue with the camera and SD cards and all that compatibility stuff is a crock. The only issue with the camera is the user. SD cards can be found on AMAZON for around $20 for a 1gb card. This is good.
The dock that you can buy for this camera (not required!! can recharge battery without it) is great. Download your pictures fast and easy. If you have problems with the battery, try not leaving the camera on the dock FOR A DAY. If you would have read the instructions it says not to leave it on there for more than FIVE HOURS. Leaving anything with a battery charging for that long will decrease the battery life. This is true with most electronics.
To wrap things up... read instructions, dont be lazy. Things dont work right if they are not used correctly. What do you expect.
    BUY THIS CAMERA ITS GREAT!!!

For those who want good pictures but don't want a large learning curve or alot of buttons to have to push...The KODAK CX7300 is the Winning Ticket! Super Ease Of Use without sacrificing quality! What more could you possibly ask for out of a digital camera. And this amazing camera also takes video! You get the Kodak Name and their Imaging Science Technology that many rave about. Don't waste your money with sophisticated features or a Non-Name Brand...get this camera instead. I HIGHLY RECOMEND!

    1 out of 5 stars Don't Buy This Camera.......2005-04-29

Maybe you can take two or three pictures before the battery is dead. The Camera Dock for this camera shows full charge but it still only takes two to three pictures. I use Kodak Rechargeable Ni-MH Battery Pack that came with camera. I replaced it, and it still doesn't work. I sent the camera back to Kodak and they "fixed it". Nothing has changed. I have tried other batteries, to no avail. The pictures aren't really that great, either. The camera and dock are dusty.

    1 out of 5 stars BUYER BEWARE........2005-01-11

This product is junk. There is no useful purpose to this hunk o' crap. The pictures suck unless you are in BROAD daylight. The flash dosen't work, and even more pitiful, it makes the pictures DARKER when you have it on. The dock sucks- if it breaks (like it did for me) then you are screwed and cannot charge the camera. Additionally, the battery lasts for about 2 pictures and then it dies. If you turn on the LCD screen, you can probably only count on .5 pictures before it dies. This is the worst electronic product I have ever owned and I am sorry I ever bought a Kodak camera. I will never buy one again, nor will I buy another Kodak product, as I am severely disappointed with this one.

1 out of 5 stars Buy this camera used - 100's of people want to dump theirs.......2004-09-04

This camera is terrible. I can't begin to count the number of precious moments I've LOST because of it. And you can't know how bad it is until AFTER you buy it (unless you read a couple reviews like this one).

See the other reviews for the long list of bad attributes.

The camera has only two advantages:
    (1) It's cheap for 3 mega-pixels (but you'd better use it within an hour of removing it from the cradle, and only take about a dozen pictures! Then it's back to the cradle for another day of charging).
    (2) There are SO MANY unhappy people with it, you can get it cheap on Ebay, including dock and accessories. (But I wouldn't.)

DON'T BUY IT! Kodak should have recalled it... they make some other good cameras, but this one is an embarrassment.

    5 out of 5 stars Beautiful views.......2005-12-19

I received this camera as a present for my birthday, and am happy to say that it rates as the best birthday present ever! The best feature about the LS633 is the beautiful big screen on the back for viewing your pictures.
Now, I'm not much of a technical person, and I'm sure you can find the technical info elsewhere - all I can say to you is that this is the best quality screen I've seen. All of my friends have digi cameras (who doesn't these days) but when they view pictures on their screens - if you tip the camera the wrong way you can only see the image in negative, or funny colours. This is annoying when more than one person is trying to look at the picture. This doesn't happen with the LS633. It's the same clear, great wuality, beautiful colours from every angle.
It's very easy to use also, when lending it to people or asking people to take a picture for me I never have to explain it (this is a definite plus!).
The only drawback is that it is not the smallest camera that you'll find on the market. I find that with all the other good features though, this is a negative that doesn't really matter all that much.

    2 out of 5 stars Oh my..........2004-11-14

I've had this camera for... 3 years now. It was great at first. My very first digital camera, and I'm glad it was this one. But, gosh.. if you look at this camera now from when it came out, it's complete crap!

1.3 Megapixels? Come on, now the normal is at least 3. If your planning to use this camera now, look away. Though it is a great first digital camera, it is now was to outdated and crappy.

Go ahead, and go for a 3 megapixel. Heck, go even farther and get a great 4 megapixel!

5 out of 5 stars Very happy with this camera.......2003-02-21

I bought this camera about a year and a half ago when it just came out. At the time, it was the cheapest offering an optical zoom, which is what I was looking for. The optical zoom works out nicely - it makes the camera have an effective 30-60mm lense, which is nice for distance shots. This camera does take some time to get to know and use properly, but once you have enough experience with it, you can get some good pictures (like through a microscope eyepiece - it was amazing). The outdoor shots are amazing, especially in terms of color reproduction. Indoor shots are variable, but it does take good low-light photos with the flash off, but the flash OK, just gets some colors a little wrong sometimes. The battery life is short, so you will need rechargeable batteries (these were well worth the investment, as acceptable batteries are $... a pair, while rechargeables+charger=$...). As for the camera dock, I think it is the stupidest thing ever and invented just to get more money out of people - YOU DO NOT NEED THE CAMERA DOCK (I avoided purchasing it). I don't even use the included software, I just copy pictures over. The LCD screen is a bit hard to see sometimes, and MMC cards are finally getting more common (I have ~160 megs of cards now, and took pictures for a month in europe on them). Overall, definitely worth the money, especially after I got used to it. And again, it is very very good at outdoor photos.

    3 out of 5 stars A mistake.......2002-12-15

A nice camera, but that is all, very basic, great outdoor day shots, very poor inside or night shots, where a flash is required. Recommend spend more (wish I had) and get something that can take more acceptable photographs inside where light is not as good as outside.

1 out of 5 stars Save your money for another camera.......2002-09-14

Purchased earlier in year and returned in less than a week. I must say in theory the dock is a great idea, but they don't quite have it right yet. I found the battery life to be non- existent. The dock did not work properly. It would stay red as if to say it was still charging for over 24 hours. I returned and purchased an Olympus D-510 Zoom . It is great well worth the 50 extra bucks

This version of the DX4330 also comes with the Kodak EasyShare Camera Dock II.

The share button on the back of the DX4330 enables you to tag pictures right on the camera for automatic printing or e-mailing after transferring to your PC. You can even store up to 32 e-mail addresses in the camera. With the included Kodak EasyShare Camera Dock II, transferring your pictures from camera to PC is as easy as pushing a single button.

You can preview and review your shots easily on the DX4330's 1.8-inch indoor-outdoor LCD, which lets you maintain exceptional viewing quality even in bright sunlight. You can also magnify shots that you review in the LCD by 2x or 4x.

From landscape to sports, easy-to-access scene modes take care of the details so you can consistently get the perfect shot. Use the DX4330's creative modes for even more photo flair.

    Power, Size, and Contents
The DX4330 is powered by a CR-V3 lithium battery (included) or optional NiMH rechargeable batteries that are charged by the optional EasyShare dock. We recommend getting a set or two of rechargeable nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries and a charger.

The camera measures 4.4 by 2.6 by 1.9 inches and weighs 7.4 ounces without batteries. This package includes the DX4330 digital camera, CR-V3 lithium battery, AV and USB cables, wrist strap, lens cap and strap, and the Kodak EasyShare CD-ROM.

    4 out of 5 stars Great camera....great price.......2003-05-02

I bought this camera after reading the reviews. Thanks.. My Ricoh 5300 digital camera was in the shop getting repaired (good thing I had an extended warranty) and my grand daughter's 1st birthday is Sunday. They told me it would take 6-8weeks for repair. I began calling the 7th week.....anyway to make a long story short, I needed a camera to capture her birthday, so I bought the Easyshare 4330. Well, my camera came in the mail yesterday and yes, you guessed it, my Ricoh was ready for me to pick up. This camera, Kodak 4330, is without a doubt easy to use and takes great pics. Although I can't tell the difference when comparing the quality of the pictures with my Ricoh, each camera has different features that I like. This camera is a point and shoot camera. I can't stress enough how easy it is to use. I put my memory card in and started taking pictures. Great pics. Yes, I agree with the reviewers that you can only get 50 pics out of a 64 meg card and that I too can not load the software with XP; however I love the picture program I have in XP and I have a 6/1 card reader so it doesn't bother me. In fact I wouldn't download any other way.....Just stick your memory card in the reader and boom your pics are there....No need to buy the dock, rechargeable batteries and a card reader make more sense. You don't have to use your camera to download pics. Since I already had a digital camera I have rechargeable batteries and it only takes two instead of four so I'll always have a spare set with me. LOVE THAT! The reason I rated this a 4 is because of the lense cover. I would have never expected a digital camera today not to have a retractable lense cover as I have been used to. Overall, this is a great camera at a great price and you won't be disappointed.

    Amazon.com Review

The 3.1-megapixel Kodak DX3900 offers excellent images, the ease of use of a point-and-click digital camera, and a number of interesting features that help it stand out from the crowd.

The camera's 3.1-megapixel resolution captures images at 2,160 x 1,440 pixels, while lower-resolution modes are offered at 1,800 x 1,200; 1,536 x 1,024; and 1,008 x 720. Picture quality is excellent as the camera picks out the most detail possible, while color reproduction is spot on. The automatic white balance is also very good, helping correct picture color no matter what the lighting conditions.

The camera will happily work automatically; however, a range of manual controls lets you specify exposure, white balance, focusing, ISO speed, and shutter speed. The LCD menu system is well designed, clear, and very easy to use, even though the display itself is a bit on the small side. A 2x optical zoom--with additional 3x digital zoom--is provided and works quickly with a snappy auto focus.

Part of the EasyShare lineup, the camera is compatible with the separately available docking station, which not only provides a permanent USB connection with your PC, but also charges the camera's batteries that are supplied with the pack. The software ties in with the docking tray, letting you transfer images with the press of a button. When connected, the camera also appears in the My Computer window as a new drive, giving you direct access to the memory card. The dock isn't an essential purchase, as you can sync the camera with your PC without it, but it does come in handy and is well worth considering.

The only annoyance with the camera is the tiny 8 MB memory card supplied, which simply isn't big enough for this camera's megapixel capacity. This size of card only allows you to store 7 images at top quality or 15 with a higher compression mode. Fortunately, buying additional memory is not going to set you back too much more. Otherwise, the only missing feature is video-capture, which is offered by many competing cameras. However, there's no doubt about the excellent image quality and the DX3900's ease of use. --Nick Baxter

    5 out of 5 stars Great camera.......2005-07-26

My first digital camera was a DX3900--great camera. Intuitive and ergonimically sound, worked great--I liked the dock because the NiMH battery would automatically charge and one button transferred pictures. Worked well as a point and shoot and there are stops and adjustments that can be used.

When it was stolen, I replaced it with a DX4530, which was also a good camera and easy to use with the same dock and the same software.

The DX series can't be beat for the price, in my opinion, and i'm about to purchase another--the DX4530 was also stolen.

    5 out of 5 stars Dx3900 - Love it!.......2004-10-15

Had this camera for a few years now and I ABSOLUTELY love it.
I've never had problems with it and the quality of the photos I take are awesome. I use my camera to take photos that I upload to my blog (on line journal).

The only down side in my opinion I see, the batteries go fast, but I assume thats any camera. The plus side is the fact you can use your double AA batteries or rechargeable ones. So if your recharageables are not charged you can just go to the store and buy regular batteries.

If you're looking to take professional photos I suggest going with a Canon rebel or any of the more expensive professional cameras out there. For a beginner this camera is awesome. This digital camera is very easy to use, even my husband who is not technically savvy finds it easy to use. You can switch within the camera to take color, black and white, or sephia tone. You can internally mess with the F stops, shutter speed, etc...it gives a lot of good options to be creative. Its an easy point and shoot.

I absolutely love this camera. Too bad some folks here seen to have had some bad experience with it. :( On the same note there are a lot of good reviews here for this camera. With anything shop around and see what's out there. :)

1 out of 5 stars Donýt buy this camera.......2003-11-02

I have had this camera for little more then a year now, and suddenly the camera at times freezes up when you try to turn it off. I tried emailing and calling Kodak for help. After many attempts I was told it will cost $250 to exchange the camera and to forget about servicing it. I did not spend the money on a camera that I can't trust to work after only one year. I will be buying another camera-most likely a Sony I will definitely never buy a Kodak camera again.

I purchased a DX 3900 in June 2002. By November, I had to send it in to have the status lcd board replaced. By July 2003, the lens cap was no longer retracting, but by then it was off warranty. The support was not very helpful either. Overall, my experience was that this was a poor quality product, and I wouldn't purchase any of their products.

5 out of 5 stars Great little digital camera.......2004-04-09

This is my first digital camera, so I have no other camera to compare it with, but I think it's a great little camera. For the price, you can't beat its ease of use and the quality of the pictures you get. The dock is not really necessary - you can just hook the camera up to your PC using the USB port. But, the dock does provide easy chargine for the batteries.

    4 out of 5 stars Nice camera.......2004-01-17

    1. I would like to say that it is a very good product. The picture quality is very good as an entry level camera. Battery life is fairly good with top end batteries, I have also used rechargeable batteries with poor results. I think that I can snap 20 pics with the rechargeable batteries, whereas I can get up to 60-70 with good energizers.
    2. The size of the camera is nice, it's not too small but defenitly not too big. It has a comfterable feel when taking pics.
    3. A nice feature is it's internal memory, I have purchased a large memory card to accent this nice feature.
    4. It is very easy to use. This being my first digital camera, I have no problems using it.
    5. I recommend this camera to anyone who is not looking to spend too much money for one.

5 out of 5 stars I liked it so much, I bought 2!.......2004-01-08

I did a lot of research before buying a digital camera. Wanted to be able to prduce 8 x 10's and scenic pictures, in addition to movie mode. I wanted one for myself, and one for my son, who predicted he would use it only for emailing and eBay...I was prepared to buy him a cheaper camera, but I found this model on Amazon with the dock included, at a price I could only buy the camera for at the stores! Add in the free shipping for the holidays, the great KODAK quality, and the ease of use, and we are very happy!

4 out of 5 stars Only one complaint.......2004-01-03

It's a good easy to use camera. The video mode is very good for this type of camera at 15 fps. The complaint I have Kodak could probably fix with a software change. All picture modes use JPG compression which reduces the quality of the picture. It is very obvious when croping and enlarging a portion of the picture. An option to turning off JPG compression or use less compression would improve picture quality when enlarging is planned.

    4 out of 5 stars Decent!.......2003-12-31

I suggest you go to a store first, try this sucker out, then come back to Amazon and find out that it's cheaper to buy it at the store you were just at, drive back out there and buy it. Just like I did.
