Wireless Issue.......2007-09-25
This Dance Pad is so nice, sensitive and accurate. You will never miss a step during play time. I have only one problem with wireless, i bought to of them since it uses a infrared and uses them together you will have a problem coz whoever step first will get the button if you're late thats it your out! You'll feel it didn't work well together. It's better only 1 player not 2.

The pad takes a long time to start up and sometimes it loses its connection with the PS 2, but otherwise is lots of fun.

Got two of these pads about 3 weeks ago. Using one works great. No issues at all. But when I hook up two at the same time, they seem to conflict with each other (they are properly configured 1P and 2P on both the transmitter and receiver). What happens is that buttons fail to register or register late, and it is unplayable.
But hooking up one works perfectly, so if you only need that, then I recommend this pad. The pad itself seems like it's holding up ok. Only time will tell. It doesn't bunch at all, but tends to turn/move, but that's expected. I use it on carpet.
I got a 2.4 GHz pad to go along with this one and they work fine together.

My daughter loves it! Works great. We had a few problems with it not working properly the first day, but I think that was from the pad being rolled up for shipment. Works fine now. She loves the fact that it is wireless. Very easy to hook up and use.

this pad is very very cheap....you unzip it and put the foam pad sensors inside and zip it back up....i was running low on cash so i said let me buy it because i didnt feel like wating till next paycheck.....within/less than 2 weeks my back arrow stopped working and i had to slam my foot down on the top "front" arrow for it to press down...so plzzz ppl stop being cheap and spend $10 more dollars for a flat konami pad that will not fail you!!!!!

The dance pad was alot of fun until it fell apart after several months of use. The cover tore and sensors no longer work. This was after consistent usage by a lightweight child (nothing abusive)
Great fun but NO durability. We are now shopping for a better quality replacement. Save your money invest in a better quality product from the start.

I've been playing DDR for about 2 months now and I've started with this dance mat. Mine isn't wireless, but it's the same model that I got from Toys R' Us. I played this game for about an hour for 3 days until this pad started getting bad and sluggish. The first day it was maximumly great, but it got dull and by now the up button doesn't work very well and I get it down if I'm lucky. Would you rather depend on your luck or go with your skill? So I really don't like this product and feel that it's cheap, and hope that a different dance pad will be better.

This Pad crumbles up when you do your fast songs like 3 2 1 stars i couldnt play heavy on this pad with out it ripping i have to play on light to keep from ripping!I got a rip all the way down the pad and out in the right arrow i got 7 of these until i gave up! get the Ignition 2.0 Dance Pad for PlayStation2 and Xbox it works great kinda like the arcade sure its another $50 more then this but it works 50x better!

I assumed this dance pad would be decent due to its price. Wrong! On the very first day I had it, the down and up arrows would randomly stop registering. It slides around, crumples up, and sometimes gets stuck on an arrow. Basically, the only thing it has going for it is wirelessness. Get a RedOctance dance pad instead - I wish I had.

Great game. Only problem we had was that one of the wireless connectors doesn't seem to work properly, so we need to get it replaced, but when it works, and when we use the other one, we have a great time. It's really hard! and tons of fun! Can't wait for a newer version with more songs!

I love this DDR game, but this dance pad blows. The dance pad I recieved from amazon didn't work at all, so I sent it back. Next, I went to gamestop to buy it. Guess what...still didn't work. Save your money and buy a different pad.

i asked for this pad for christmas and got it. it seemed to be pretty good and at the time i added it to my wish list there was only 1 review and it was positive. many other pads had quite a few bad reviews. after only using this about 3 times the down arrow stopped working. we will be returning it and trying a new one...this time from a store that i can easily return it without shipping charges.
Poor reception, small sensors.......2006-02-09
I found this controller to be a very poor choice. Even for the price, the quality is abysmal. The reception from the pad itself is laggy (if you can even get a connection). Lag is very bad for a game where timing is key.
On top of the lag, the pad itself is very poor. The sensors in the pad are very small and you must step directly on the arrows. Definitely not a good choice for beginners. Just buy a wired controller.
A large dance pad for Adults..........2005-09-03
The Pelican Night Moves Wireless Dance is great because it is larger than most dance pads, which for adults is great. I don' really care too much about being wireless, but I did wish you could plug a regular xbox xtender cable into the wireless receiver. Overall a the best soft pad out there...

Let me just start this review out my making this fact clear by saying i am a huge Dance Dance Revolution fan! And when i say huge, i mean HUGE! I can play for more then five hours in a row without stopping once to take a break. I can get an "A" on every song on the heavy difficulty. Now on to the review...
Graphics: The graphics in Dance Dance Revolution look much cooler then the first one. The arrows show off, a kind of 3d'ish look, which looks much better then the first one. Also, the character models are much better then they are in the first one. When i say better, i mean graphics wise. Besides those two improvements though, the graphics remain simplistic, although, that is how Konami intended it to be.
Gameplay: The gameplay is amazing in DDR 2. It is great fun, dancing all over your pad knocking huge combos off. If your good enough too, you can try and anticipate breakdancing on the dance pad. But thats only for pros... There is a huge song list for you to choose from, however it is no where near as good as the song list in the first Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix game, but it is still bearable.
Audio: Oh My God! Those annoying/stupid/inaccurate anouncers! I want to seriousely kill them! First of all, they will tell you to try harder when you are winning by over 100,000 points and second of all, ever three-four seconds, they will come out with some totally unecessary comment such as "Your giving me dance fever," or "shake it, baby shake it!" Like i mentioned before, the songs are bearable, but no where near as good as the first list of songs in the original DDR ultramix.
Online: The online is super fun, and one good thing in DDR Ultramix 2, is that they're are new gametypes which include Bomb, Attack and Quad which are all pretty self explanatory. The problem though with the online aspect, is that it will refuse to show you your rank, which i found extremely frustrating. Also, it can just suddenly freeze up on you forcing you to reboot your Xbox.
In conclusion, DDR 2 Ultramix is very fun, but if i were you, i would stick to the first Ultramix game due to the better song list and plus, you won't have to deal with restarting your Xbox Console every once in a while...

A decent mat.......2007-01-10
This will never be a replacement for a true metal dance pad, but for the price... well, for the price, get a wired pad. There's no real sense for the wireless connection, especially since it's an IR connection that is prone to line-of-sight issues. Overall, though, the pad is a lot of fun, and good for those who aren't sure whether the whole dance game thing is for them.

This pad is one of the worst products I've ever come upon.
I ordered two of these on Amazon because the price was pretty good, and I thought it would be fun to do some DDR again.
One of the boxes came in a bad shape, it looked like it was stepped on and the sides were bent and damaged.
I opened the package and inspected the contents, upon inspecting I happen to notice a small lever that sets the pad to player1, player2, or off.
I touch the lever and it just falls off...
OK, I guess it was during shipping that the pad got messed up.
So I decide to try it out anyway, the receiver cannot recognize the pad if you move more than 2 feet away from it (thought this thing was supposed to be wireless?)
The battery dock cannot hold the batteries in place, it cannot lock after putting the batteries in.
Pad also lags... so what the point of this thing... nothing
Will be returning this as soon as possible.

I bought this dance mat when I was into DDR a long time ago when I graduated from school. I bought with it the DDR Max 2, and the pad worked great with it. With heavy usage every day for many months, I absolutely loved it. Both my friends (some weighing onto the 240+ lb range) enjoyed using this mat. The only problem is that now I don't really play DDR much, and my mat went into the basement and was being used for holding a computer. The top cover tore, and now that I am getting back into DDR, I will need to get a new mat, probably the same one!
