My elderly folks bought this answering machine several years ago after trying about 4 others. This one proved to be reliable, trouble-free and very easy for them to use. They are gone now, and I am using it at my own home, replacing a single-cassette type of machine.
The BIGGEST PLUS of the machine (for my wife and myself) is how easily we can delete a message anytime, even while we are listening to it. We get too many calls from those pesky automated calling systems (telephone SPAM) and they usually last at least 2 minutes. With our other machine, we had to listen to the ENTIRE message before we could delete, save, etc. With this machine, we can delete the message as soon as we realize it's junk...WITHOUT HAVING TO WAIT UNTIL THE ENTIRE MESSAGE PLAYS! It's a snap and worth every penny I didn't pay!
I'll probably buy it again when this one goes.

Good Product bad software.......2002-03-14
Nice design and good looks. Indicators are easy to see and understand. 1-RJ11 phone jack in, 1-RJ11 phone jack out. Draw backs are the 3 plugs, (2 are ups, 1 surge). The software is lacking. I have a Win 2000 machine and the software that is suppose to load automatically on startup didn't work (Drivers were for Win 95) I had to manually enter it into the Startup folder. Plenty of misspelled words in the Chinese software. Belkin had a updated driver at its web site for Win 2000, but when I tried to install it would lock up my machine when it would search for the com port. If you have a 19" monitor and high cpu usage you may come up a little short with the 425va.
Fantastic Low Priced Protection!.......2001-06-03
I wasn't looking for any whiz-bang U.P.S., just something that would keep my computer alive whenever the wife would kick in the washer or dryer. The power in my area is "dirty" as it is, so I didn't want my new Dell 8100 to be the victim of our "cooperative" power company. This fit the bill (so to speak), its color is simular to my Dell computer and it worked right out of the package (although the instructions recommend charging it for at least 4 hours).
The three LED lights provide a ready reference to the status of your power. The software that comes with it actually monitors the condition of the power and displays it for you nicely on your screen. It came with everything required to get it hooked up, including a serial cable and telephone cord (yes, it also offers protection for your phone line!).
The back of it has two POWER BACK UP outlets, the third is for surge protection only. Although Belkin does not rate this UPS high enough for the system I am running it on (I have a 19" monitor and a 1.3 Ghz pentium 4), it handles both with EASE!
Highly recommended for simple uninterruptable power! This puppy will give you the time you need to shut your system down and protect it from "dirty" power (it'll even shut your computer down for you if you're away from it!).
VERY EASY to set up, even for a novice!

I like the black color casing which match with my ACER desktop. The beeping sound of the UPS is pretty strong to alert me on power problem. Thanks for the capability to auto-shutdown my Windows ME. The number of outlets in this model is among the largest in any UPS that I saw. This is good for entry-level home PC users.

The VGA cable works well. The problem is PC Universe... probably the worst online seller that I have ever seen. Delivery was really, really late and the did not care at all when I asked for help. Don't buy from them!
