I previously had a lesser model of a Logitech cordless mouse for my laptop for about a year. It was like pushing a potato instead of a mouse. It was heavy and way too sensitive to any dust, hair or other assorted desk top particles encountered in a typical work environment.
Nothing compares to my new Logitech mouse! It is much lighter and moves with almost no effort. The laser is more accurate and not as fussy about the surface it's working on. I do use a microthin mouse pad that makes the perfect accessory for this mouse. It was well worth waiting a year for and I'm glad I made the change.

VX Revolution Software and Apple Macintosh.......2007-09-19
Although the VX Revolution Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks is advertised as an Intel Mac product, it is not. Not unless you just want a very expensive click and scroll mouse. The software for Mac has to be downloaded from the Logitech website as it is not on the accompanying disk. That should have been a red flag to me. The software is not compatible, causes Kernal Panics before 24 hours are up after installing. I had no luck with Logitech tech service to resolve the problem.
It is however, quite comfortable to hold in your hand.
Logitech VX Revolution - Probably the best notebook mouse around........2007-09-19
As a firm supporter of Logitech mice after a couple of failed Microsoft ones, I would like to share some of the pros and cons about the Vx Revolution.
I am currently using the Logitech MX610, LX5, V200 and V400.
The size of the VX Revolution is smaller than a normal desktop mouse but a bit on the large side for a notebook mouse. However, the size and feel of the mouse allows hours of comfortable usage.
Ever since i used my MX610, I have become a sucker for additional customizable buttons on the mouse and the VX Revolution has buttons that are similarly placed on the left hand side, activated by the thumb. The precision zoom button is a bit stiff but still functional and programmable.
The new quick search button just infront of the scroll wheel is a neat feature is you use it often. Otherwise it is just another programmable button for anything you want.
The tracking lazer is better than what i have had before. So no complaints there. The V400 had a terrible lazer. Although it was marketed as a new lazer system that tracks across all terrrain. I found that it was worse off than what my V200 or MX610 had. I sometimes use the mouse while lazing in hotel beds. The V400 could never do a decent job on linen.
The new frictionless scroll wheel needs some getting used to. But i seem to manage with it. But if you don't like it, you can always revert back to the ratchet system.
As with many other critics, the positioning of the switch between frictionless scrolling and ratchet scrolling is placed under the mouse. It would have been much better if it were placed on top of the mouse for fast access.
So if you can put up with the slightly larger size, this single AA battery powered mouse is a great product. Only pity is that it does not come with a nice neoprene carry bag.
Nonetheless...good job Logitech, you've probably got the best cordless notebook mouse around for now.

A Lifesaver!.......2007-09-06
Having severely injured my right hand, and therefore forced to switch to my left, I could not have asked for a better mouse, and the fact that it is wireless meant that I didn't have to worry about it getting "tangled" with anything else. It fits my hand perfectly. Obviously, it took a few hours to accustom myself to the reversal of the left and right mouse buttons (since I had been using a right-handed mouse with my left hand until the left-handed one arrived), but now that the muscle-memory had kicked in, I'm almost as fast with my left hand as I was with my right. I'm sure I'll be even happier once I have a chance to explore all of the different buttons/functions, but again, it was the perfect product at the right time.

I know some of y'all have wireless issues but I plug mine into the usb port on my G15 keyboard. Solves the problem. I love the mouse, FINALLY a lefty mouse. Now if only they made the g series in lefty.

This is the first left-handed mouse I've ever used and it's great. I was using an MS Intellimouse which is ambidextrous and it was fine, but getting worn out. So many of the new mice are ergonomically designed specifically for righties that I decided to try something for lefties.
It's extremely accurate, so that I've been able to increase the sensitivity without sacrificing the fine detail. The Mail/IM indicators are useless, as far as I'm concerned, but they don't get in the way. One cool thing is that the left & right lick "buttons" are not really buttons - they are just flexible extensions of the cover so there is no joint or gap - very sleek.
A few times in Firefox the Forward/Back buttons haven't worked, but I've generally used the keyboard for that anyways, so I probably won't end up bothering to learn something new.

Great machine for the price.......2007-08-01
I bought this based on the reviews and wanted to put in my 2 cents. I think this machine is wonderful - the fax features (what I use it for) are easy to set up, even manually when used as a stand alone (mine is NOT hooked up to my computer). The ADF works great - pages don't fall to the ground. Print quality is good and fast! I like the large holding paper tray - it holds about 200 pages or so. I had an older HP laser fax that finally bit the dust and bought a Brother - hated it - and finally got this one. Am very pleased. I have no idea why this is sooooo big - that would be my only drawback. Sure wish they'd bring back the laser fax without the "all in one" features - that might make it smaller.

I use my 3050 primarily as a copy machine but do receive up to 20 pages of faxes a day, without problems.
When the toner that came with the machine ran out, I purchased a "compatible" off-brand toner cartridge. I got vertical streaks on every page I copied. I was told by HP to purchase only HP brand toner cartridges ($70 v. $25 for compatible). I still ended up with vertical lines on every page. HP insists it is the toner cartridges and had no solution.
A waste of $249. I like HP printers (my workhorse 2200 is still running about about 6 years) because you don't have to buy a separate toner cartridge and image drum, but this machine is a piece of junk. I will now have to buy a more expensive HP fax/copy machine to get better quality.

La primer queja y la mas comun, Donde esta el cable usab que se necesita? Esta impresora no viene con un cable usb incluido.
Desde la primera impresion que hice al salir la hoja salia en forma de "U" como doblada Y pense que era por que el toner estaba nuevo despues de 100 hojas, seguian saliendo igual y pense en revisarla para ver si tenia alguna pieza que provocara esto y no tenia nada, ya despues de que me acabe las 500 hojas que venian en el paquete compre de otra marca demejor calidad y desaparecio el problema, la verdad es muy molesto que las hojas salgan dobladas porlo que les recomiendo comprar hojas de calidad.
La impresora tiene buenas funcionespero el porgrama de Scanner es muy dificil, y las opciones de fax limitadas, ya que si mandas un fax tienes que permanecer pegado en la impresora hasta que se mande todo para ver si al final en el panel de control dice ok, imagina el tiempo que tienes que estar si mandas un fax de 25 hojas, no encontre ninguna impresion que imprimiera una pagina de resultado, solola imprime cuando hay un error.
Otra cosa es que jamas podras escanear un libro o sacarle una copia ya que solo acepta hojas sueltas.
Si recomiendo elproducto pero le doy 4 estrellas por lo del programa del scanner y el fx.
Great Printer.......2007-06-17
I got this printer on sale for $150 on Feb. 2007 because I was tired of dealing with replacing the expensive inkjet heads on my Lexmark X75. I don't have the fax hooked up, but the printer itself does a great job. I have printed 850 documents so far, and it's still using the orginal toner. I guess the toner lasts for an estimated 2,000 pages. It has NEVER jammed on me, and I've printed lots of envelopes and 8.5x11 sheets. It's a nice compact unit, and It's good enough to serve my small business, so I would recommend it to anyone.
No Vista Support (Yet)!!.......2007-06-13
WARNING! This only PRINTS with Vista. Can't scan nor fax yet. No word on when they will have the drivers out. Unbelieveable.
Prints great (fast warm up, quick), and I can't comment on any other functionality.

Buyer Beware.......2007-09-19
Last week,my printer died on me and I had to purchase another printer ASAP. I bought this model down at my local Staples store and tried to install it the next day. Now I am no expert on computers but when I added the software and then tried to use my computer to print (a Dell XP) it crashed. I now have to fix the problems that this crash did to my computer.When I went back to return it, the manager said that they have been having problems with this happening because they think it has something to do with the software. I took the time to write this for anyone out there who is considering buying this model. BE CAREFUL!

Amazon advertises Vista certified and even says software is in the box. It's for XP of 2000 only. It will not install on Vista and HP does not have software available. It will only print with Vista, nothing else. This review is really targeted at Amazon. The printer works great for XP users.

This is a great unit for copying, faxing, scanning, printing, etc. We have it setup on our home network, and use it extensively. The print and copy quality is great.
I'm disappointed, however, in the Vista support. The unit stated it was Vista compatible, however, the drivers for using the scanner do not install on Vista machines. A check on HP's web site found many other people having the same problem with installing the software. Vista does recognize the printer automatically (without the driver disk), however, HP's specialized software for scanning over the network and faxing cannot be installed. I was, however, able to install this software on an XP machine, and it worked fine...

I bought one of these guys about a year ago as a temporary substitute for my main mouse, fell in love with it, bought another for my other computer, and recommend it to my friends who also love it.
What's to love? you ask: Well it's very comfortable in the hand, either hand incidentally. It works well without the need for complex installation, has a long battery life, especially when shut down between uses. But for me, the greatest feature is the manner in which it works on virtually any surface: smooth, rough, cloth, slick, bumpy or curved, the cursor moves across the screen smoothly. In a confined area, airplane for example, you can move it over your lap, the food tray, the arm rest, or just about any place with a few inches to spare. I highly recommend it.

Good printer. But...........2007-02-28
I bought this printer a few months ago to replace my Brother HL-1440 which broke after 2 years and the replacement part was greater than the cost of a new Lexmark. I really liked my Brother.
The Lexmark does several things well. It's fast. It works fine with Linux. It prints with very good quality. And it is NETWORK capable which is invaluable for the many houses and small offices with multiple PCs.
I do have one complaint in two parts. The printer does seem designed for light use. By that I mean that (A) the paper tray doesn't hold all that much paper and (B) the toner cartridge doesn't seem to last all that long.
Brother HL-1440 with fairly heavy printing lasted about a year for me on one cartridge.
Lexmark E120 with similar printing is beginning to show signs of running out after 3 months (with a replacement cartridge, not the original starter cartridge).
Still, a good printer for probably 90% of the people with normal printing needs. Next time, though, I'll probably spring for an hp. They really do seem to be the best.

This is a good printer for the price. Print quality for normal print jobs is good, it has a small footprint, easy to use interface via a web browser, a dust cover over the paper tray, and the network connection is a lot better than having to connect directly to the PC (although you can do that if you wish). If you have more than one computer on a network at home, I would recommend this printer. The only thing I don't like about it is that you cannot specify custom paper sizes. This means you have to do some trial and error and arithmatic in your application to get it to print the way you want on non-standard paper. For $125, I can live with that.

I'm going to skip all the technical jargon and just give you a down home review!
I had a Logitech cordless MX700 for about two years when it gave up the ghost. I LOVED it and wanted the same mouse again, but for reasons I honestly can't remember at this point, I decided to upgrade to the MX1000. (I think it was because I could only find the mouse in a mouse/keyboard set and I didn't want the keyboard). Besides, I'm a sucker for new technology and this was a laser mouse--ooooohhhhh, fancy!
I debated making the purchase online (where it was about $10 cheaper) or at a brick and mortar store (so I could return it more easily if I didn't like it) but the cost-conscious part of me won out. I don't know why I was worried--first thing out of the box I liked it. It was a little heavier than the MX700, so that took a little bit getting used to, but that only took a few days.
It was a little weird, at first, not using a mousepad (I believe the directions recommend this), but it works just fine without it and it's nice not to have the extra clutter on my already-full desk. It sits on the charger perfectly (I often had trouble with the MX700, often taking three or four times to get it seated correctly) and honestly, it rarely needs to be charged. RARELY! Small caveat: this mouse is in use at home, where I only use it maybe an hour or two a day (more on weekends) but I usually only have to put it on the base once every few WEEKS, if not a month or more. (We just moved into a new house a month ago and it hasn't been on the charger since the day we moved in, and I still have one bar left.)
The only bad thing I have to say about this mouse is that I don't use all the buttons on it! I love bells and whistles, but I only use the main mouse buttons, including scroll--I don't use any of the three thumb buttons OR the buttons on either side of the scroll wheel. Why? It's not that I tried them and don't like them. It's not that they don't work. It's not that they're placed badly. It's just that I haven't trained myself to use them. I know I should, but I guess I don't need to streamline my mouse use THAT much!

Great printer but unreliable.......2007-04-23
I bought this printer after my HP 2100TN started needing us to press the button on the printer every time we queued a print job. At first the 3052 seemed the answer to our needs. It was very easy to set up for our home office and kids machines. It printed and copied fast and sharp. That lasted for about 100 pages and then it started producing a huge white area down the middle of the page. Removing and shaking the cartridge would fix this for a a few pages and then that stopped working. Faced with a long and frustrating time on the phone with support I decided to just get a new cartridge. This did the trick for about 200 pages and then it started missing the whole center section of the page again. Shaking the cartridge fixes it temporarily. Of course, it always does it when we are in a panic with a customer proposal or homework due that day. I am using genuine HP cartridges which are $55 each. My advice is to look at the competition. Great idea but it doesn't print!
Warning! Buyer Beware!.......2007-01-26
I just shipped my HP 3052 back off to where it came from. I either have to really like something or really hate something to write a review on it, and I really hate this printer. I purchased the HP 3052 after reading some reviews on the HP 3055, and deciding that I didn't need the fax capabilities of the 3055 which didn't seem to work well for most people anyhow. Apparently, it's not just the fax feature that is faulty, but the scanning and copying leaves a lot to be desired as well. I purchased this to replace my aging, but still working, 10 year old NEC SuperScript 860 laser printer. I needed something to make decent copies, and to scan in documents. Well forget it with this! You WILL REGRET buying this electronic "Made in China" garbage if you are planning on using this for anything other than a printer. This has changed my opinion on HP, as it will yours if you buy it.
When I first power on the unit, I tried copying the Vonage advertisement that came with it by running it through the auto document feeder. The first thing I notices was that the ADF was loud. This was fine since noise isn't too much of a concern, just as long is it functions well, and there isn't anyone else around to be disturbed by it. After examining the copy, I realized the Vonage letters were stretched out about 1/8" about 3/4 down from the top of the letters. To make things worse, there was a 1 1/2" oval shape on the Vonage ad, which this printer distorted one entire side of, almost as if someone had tried to trace it with a pen. I tried several copies through the ADF with the same results over and over. I thought that maybe the stretched letters were due to a problem with the auto document feeder, so I tried copying the Vonage brochure on the flat bed. I did not see a problem with the Vonage letters being stretched when copying on the flat bed, but there was still distortion on the oval shape again. Next, I tried copying other documents with similar bad results. Copying bar codes revealed that when printing lines close together, the black bleeds between them! Edges on copied fonts were a rough as well.
Next I tried connecting the 3052 to my PC with USB 2.0. I ended up with an installation failed message on my first attempt at installing the software. Looking in device manager, I found a problem with installing the driver for "Generic IEEE 1284.4 printing support." I tried uninstalling and installing the drivers several times to no avail. I then tried a 400MB full download of the latest full driver release from HP, and had the same problem. Next, I tried a smaller 40MB driver release on HP's site. This time I kept getting prompted to locate files that the installation could not find. After performing a search on my hard drive, I located them in c:\temp, where the installer must have extracted them to. I had to keep navigating the installer to this directory numerous times during this install. Much to my amazement, this install attempt actually ended up working.
Now I wanted to test the scanning functionality. The included scanning software is very basic. It does allow you to setup custom profiles for scanning resolution, destination, and paper type. I first tested scanning with the included Vonage advertisement again. The results were to say the list, shocking and very disappointing. First, the color scans were washed out. Second, the black on white text had extreme orange and blue halos around the edges, almost like looking at a 3d movie, without the 3d glasses. Third, there were some visual artifices, scanning inaccuracies, and scanned objects appeared wavy. Fourth, I got the same results as above when using the ADF for copying as I did scanning. I wish I could include a sample image so you could see the atrociousness for yourselves. Lastly, scans are slow, and I found that when scanning in 8 1/2 x 11 documents, they would often be scanned in skewed, no matter what paper the originals were on or how I adjusted the auto document feeder guides. Furthermore, when I scanned documents with print on both sides, the print on the opposite side would bleed through. From my experience with photo technology, my hunch would be that the cheap imager in this needs an enormous amount of light to scan, so that images on the opposite side of the page bleed through.
I really don't want to say anything good about this printer, but I will say that printing looked very good, and it gets 1 star for this. Printing was crisp and clear, even with small fonts. B/W photo printing was on the other hand was mediocre, but who uses a B/W laser printer for photos anyhow?
My advice would be to look elsewhere for your scanning and copying needs. This might do for a cheap printer/scanner/copier for your kids, but not for a professional environment. I might purchase the Dell 1815dn as it has received good reviews, purchase a separate printer and scanner, or hold out until something better comes along. I hope this review has been helpful, and can save you from the hassle and expense of a return!

This HP all in one printer/copy/scanner is just great. I've had mine for about a month now and I haven't had a single problem thusfar.
As far as printing, the printer is much like previous models of HP laser printers. The prints come out flawless and are crisp and dark. Speed was very important in buying a laser printer and this one lives up to my expectations.
The copy/scanning property of this AIO printer is easy to use and very powerful. While I can't copy color photos (b&w laser printer), the scanning of any image, color or not, comes out pretty well on the computer. It is easy to tell the AIO printer to scan an image from the computer and the picture is conveniently saved as a jpeg at a location of my choosing. No fuss or hassles.
I'm currently a college student and copying class notes or study guides has never been easier. I just put the stack of papers into the copying tray, tell the printer to copy them, and it's done...quickly. Long gone are the days when I had to run to the library or copy store and find change to get copies. This thing does it all.
The ONLY reason why I gave it 4 stars is because of the printer's size. It is big. I imagine it is quite difficult to pack a printer/copier/scanner all into one printer and maintain a small size, but I think HP may have been able to do it. This printer does take up a large amount of desk space compared to other printers I've seen. However, it still beats having a separate printer and scanner, so I won't complain too much.

HP = Horrible Product.......2007-07-26
I'm an HP fan, but this product is just terrible. The software is a joke. This is geared at small businesses and fails miserably. It's so bad I'm going back to my vendor and begging for a return.
I sell a lot of HP product, mostly Servers, and have a previous version of an AIO, the LJ3030. The LJ3030 beats this hands down and it's three years old. This an example of a new product launched with no QA or concern for copany reputation and sole focus on churning and burning a few dollars. Shame on HP.
NOT Vista-Ready.......2007-07-23
HP's telephone Sales staff and its website say clearly that this printer is Vista-ready. They mean exactly that -- the PRINTER is Vista-ready. What they don't tell you is that the scanner and fax modem are NOT yet supported by Vista-compatible software. The software that comes with the printer will not even install under Vista. The Vista-compatible software on the HP site is a plain printer driver -- no scanning, no faxing, no fancy printer-configuration interface.
They promise to have something for Vista soon, but their initial date for that was May 2007, it's now the end of July, and nothing yet.
This is a great printer, but if you have Vista and need the other all-in-one features now, get something else.
And shame on HP for claiming an All-In-One is Vista ready when it isn't!
Minor problems but good unit.......2007-07-11
I have found through experience that multifunction devices usually have drawbacks of some sort, due to compromises over functions. This machine performs better than the previous three combination printer/fax/scanners I have owned. I am generally satisfied with the product, except for a few problems.
I had a malfunction in the initial set up. I could not get the fax machine to answer the special ring tone the phone company has set up on my line. Even when programmed to pickup on the special ring tone via the menu on the machine - nothing happened. The exact nature of the problem was later diagnosed by HP support. It appears that the internal software was not correctly setup on the machine when it left the point of manufacture - I had to download some files that were needed to fix the problem. The support person did a great job, and took his time to diagnose and fix the problem. It took a while to go through the steps. I can't say for sure, but I think this was an oversight on my particular unit. Since then, it works as advertised and answers faxes on the special ring tone. Faxing out has always been a breeze.
The scanning software is not the best and can be frustrating - I have had similar software on another unit. But scanning generally works without a hitch. However, if you are serious about scanning, you might be better off buying software for that task, or buy a machine specifically dedicated to the task. I have some third-party OCR software that I occasionally use with scans from this machine. For some reason, any scan from this machine that is sent to my OCR software generally works poorly. Because I have used this same OCR software on other scanners with much more success, I presume (but don't really know if) the problem is somehow connected to the scan options on the HP scan software. I have fiddled endlessly trying different settings, but nothing improves the OCR. The same OCR software has worked very well out-of-the-box w
