It works........2007-09-22
It's not very fancy. It works, it can take a pretty good beating and still work. I haven't tried it in water, I wouldn't recommend water. Nope, water would be bad.
Great product, great price, promt shipping, poor packaging.......2007-09-17
I ordered 2 of these, and they are Motorola product, and they work great. I received them within 4 days of placing the order.
The only bad thing was the packaging. Hard to open, I had to use a knife. I opened it carefully, however I nicked the insulation on the cord, because the cord was pushed up against the flap.
AC Charger.......2007-08-24
I bought this usb style charger for my blackberry travel kit. Works like a charm and the price was great.
Does not work for Razr V3.......2007-08-24
Does not work, microsoft wizard keeps asking for a software CD. Unable to load, emails to seller for drivers or software are fruitless no response. Good thing it didn't cost too much!
Great.......2007-08-23
Brand new and very cheap. Thanks so much. Everyone should have 2 of these for their phone!

Customer Reviews:
Linksys WUSB54G Wireless-G USB Adapter.......2007-09-24
Works Great. I had some minor problems with getting the wireless network up and running and Linksys support was wonderful.
Slow Internet Connection..........2007-09-23
I bought this product a few months ago to use in tandem with my Linksys 54G Wireless Router. Overall it delivers a somewhat reliable (sometimes requires a disconnect/reconnect) and somewhat slow internet connection. I spend a lot of time hitting reload on websites and get a bunch of "page taking too long to load messages." This is pretty ridiculous since I am most times receiving full signal and am literally one hallway away from the router.
On the plus side, it does offer you a USB connection to your computer, which I suppose is a necessity for some people. You will connect to the internet, but don't expect wired speeds! Just bought a PCI-card. We'll see how that goes.
Good luck all!
Had to return.......2007-09-23
could not get it to work on my old computer. It was no fault of the product.
Quiet, Reliable, Fast but Fragile...........2007-09-12
Im going to start saying that I already have almost 3 Months with this product.
First of all, I would have given it 5 Starts, BUT... This is the second one I own, because the first one BROKE with a minor scratch on the Board, and a resistance blewup, even before I even turned it on. Anyways, besides that the product runs neat, its really quiet, or maybe it s that my computer has 8 Fans Blowing UP Air I cant really listen to it, but I think it is quiet. It does run very nicely on a AMD 6000+ With 2 GB DDR800 Corsair, its not slowing the PC at all.
My computer gives 5.9 of score in every single test on Windows Vista but the hard drive speed, giving a 5.4 wich is still great, so if you are looking for a high-end hard drive this is not the one, but if your looking for economy and a very good hard drive, this is the one.
I really suggest you buy it. Just be carefull when your installing it.
not compatible with netstumbler any more.......2007-09-10
Note: ignore this review if you just want to use it to 'connect' to wi-fi networks. Stumblers/war-drivers encouraged to read on.
we got this card since it was listed in www.stumbler.net/compat/ list of compatible devices. Turns out they have changed the chipset in version 4, and it is no more a good choice if you expect beyond simply connecting to wireless networks.

Amazon.com Review
If good things come in small packages, the WUSB11 from Linksys makes a great addition to a wireless network. Measuring about the size of a deck of cards and weighing just shy of 3 ounces, this little device fits nearly anywhere and is easily stowed in a notebook computer case. Simple USB connectivity makes it compatible with any modern PC, and also makes it easy to swap from one computer to another.
Provided you already have a wireless router or Internet gateway set up, installing the WUSB11 is a snap. We plugged it into a USB port on a test PC, executed the installation program on the included PC, and once the system rebooted we were connected to the network without being tethered to any wires. The unit draws its power directly from the USB port, leaving users with one less cord to lug around and one less device to plug into a wall outlet. We tested the device on a PC located 40 feet laterally and one floor above the wireless router and didn't even need to extend the tiny antenna to get good reception. Should you need to use the antenna, it extends at either 90 degrees or 180 degrees, meaning it will work whether the unit is sitting flat on a desk or mounted vertically on a wall using the included Velcro strips.
Performance was impressive. As an 802.11b product the WUSB11 supports a maximum speed of 11 Mbps and real-world speeds hovered around that mark in our tests. The signal was strong and consistent, making it great for gaming or transferring large files without worrying about a disconnect halfway through. There are only two indicator lights on the unit itself that tell you it's working--a power light and another light that blinks when data is transmitting--but the included software tools allow for a much more detailed picture. Using these utilities we were able to keep an eye on the signal strength (it never dipped below 95 percent), configure the built-in encryption settings, and perform other security and monitoring tasks.
The device is designed to fall back to lower speeds instead of cutting off trans missions completely when it reaches the limits of its range or experiences signal problems. In a normal-size home you should have no trouble maintaining the 11 Mbps signal, but if you wander outdoors with a notebook or are plagued by signal interference, overall transmission speed can step down to 5.5 Mbps, 2 Mbps, or even 1 Mbps depending on conditions. Even at the lowest speed the device is fast enough for speedy Internet browsing (most users won't see any slowdown at all in that area, even for downloads), although transferring files across the network is painfully slow at the lower speeds.
No matter what, if you plan mainly to transfer large files over your network, you'll probably want the extra speed 802.11a or 802.11g devices offer. Of course, you'll also have to absorb the extra cost associated with those products. The WUSB11 is a fantastic 802.11b device for the money, working perfectly straight out of the box, and its low weight and small size make it a viable alternative to a PCMCIA wireless network card for notebook users. Just make sure the computer you want to connect it to doesn't use Windows 95 or NT, because the unit is incompatible with those two operating systems. --T. Byrl Baker
Pros:
- Simple installation and configuration
- Mounts either horizontally or vertically
- Included software provides useful details without overwhelming users with mi nutia
Cons:
- So light that the weight of the USB cord can pull it off a desk
- Maximum 11 Mbps transmission speed may be too slow for some users

Works great with Win XP.......2007-09-24
I purchased for my Dell Dimension 8200 as I was running short of wired connections. Plugged into the USB connector on the PC, inserted the disk when asked and it works great. I recommend - for less than $16 with shipping, it can't be beat.
Not Vista compatible.......2007-09-16
This product works great under Win XP but won't allow a normal Restart or Shutdown under Vista. Great value if you have XP and don't need network speed above 11 Mbps
It works on Dell Computers with Vista........2007-09-13

Didnt Work.......2007-09-23
I am sure this is a great product but it wasnt compatible with my cell phone I have Sony Ericsson J220A model and it didnt work. Some sellers may tell you that it will work or should work but it doesnt if you check out Sony Ericssons own site it will tell you that J220a doesnt have USB compatibility, I found this out later, fortunately I got an excellent seller on here who worked with me the whole way and even sent me another product to try but still didnt work, in the end I got a refund so no probs with the seller.
Very useful.......2007-09-01

Customer Reviews:
Nightmare! Major issues with connection and overheating.......2007-09-22
Oh, how I wish I would have read all the reviews before buying this thing. I had a terrible time getting it to connect with my router, but eventually got it to work. I noticed the device ran quite hot (within in minutes of being plugged in), but foolishly ignored it. I left it on for 24 hours and came back to find my hard drive *and* motherboard blown. I can't pin it on Netgear's device, but it sure seems odd to me. After getting a new hard drive and a new motherboard, I am looking elsewhere to find a wireless Internet adapter. Save your $12.00! My little purchase cost me over $200.00, huge data loss, and a ton of time to reinstall it all.
Turns off frequently! Irritating!.......2007-09-08
I ordered this when I got a new Dell desktop and needed to connect with the wireless network in my home. It was easy to set up but that is the end of the good news.
This adapter just randomly looses its connection to the network. In the space of one hour, it will loose its connection at least twice, if not three times. Reconnecting is no problem - I just click on Repair and it goes through the motions and connects back right away. I reinstalled it a few times but the same thing happens.
This is a very irritating feature, especially when I am using Skype! I have had enough and I am ordering a new adapter from a different manufacturer!
Go Wireless.......2007-09-03
At an inexpensive price I was able to Use a desktop wirelessly. No more wires or extra printers. File sharing made easy with this little gadget.
WG111 and TIVO.......2007-09-01
WG111 V2 is NOT recognized by TIVO. V1 is.
Verify with the seller BEFORE you buy.
Ilearned the hard way
Ridiculous at best.......2007-07-28
If you don't mind blue screens of death or having your PC lockup or reboot after 45 minutes to an hour, this is the product for you. Works fine until it gets warm and then the fun begins.
The longest I have been able to stay online is approximately an hour. No wonder they're selling for $15 used on here...they're lawn wafers.
I had no problems even remotely close to this until I plugged in this turd, so I know it's the culprit.
Back to Best Buy it goes.

Customer Reviews:
Extend your wireless network.......2007-09-21
this is a great wirless adapter install is a piece of cake and using this I am able to hook up to what was a weak signal. For a desktop pc this is very recomended.
Not a plug & play for me.......2007-09-14
This product was not a "plug & play" for me. I spent a few hours trying to figure out how to make it work, then called their tech support (India), who was very nice and patient with me, but he it was hard to understand him. After nearly 90 minutes on the phone with him, the device worked, and worked quite well, but there were lots of steps that I had to go through to make it work. The next day, when I restarted my computer, the device would not connect to my wireless access point, and I couldn't remember all of the steps to go through to make it work, so I sent the device back. Perhaps it didn't work because I'm using a Windows XP Tablet version (for a PC tablet). I've had a couple of applications that either didn't work or didn't work well with the PC Tablet.
It works...but.......2007-09-01
A much better buy is the Hawking WIRELESS G USB NETWORK ADAPTER w. Hi Gain 6db Antenna( HWU54D ) which is listed on Amazon, but no longer available. If you can find it, buy it. I have both the 54D and this device. The 54D has 6db of gain and does fold for transport. This one is cheaply made and would appear to break if stressed too much. The 54D is much more sturdy. I've owned it a couple of years and it's perking along in the living room right now doing duty on my son-in-laws desktop. I've had the 54D on the roof of my Airstream, on the roof thru a ceiling vent, inside a ziploc bag nearly 600' from the WAP and it worked well. I would be afraid to take this one on the road. The units only put out 300 mw which is less than the old walkie-talkies we played with as kids. Those put out 500 mw. The antennae are faily directional but I would have to question the gain advertised. Is this received or transmitted gain. The gain is a relative measurement anyway and can just about mean anything you want it to when referring to an antenna. We are not talking about a 60 foot satellite dish. Any true gain is going to be next to nothing because of the size of the little dish itself.
I only played with the software once. If you are running Win2k or XP you don't need the software. The OS will detect it and there is an integrated program in windows that works just fine. The Hawking software is clumsy and there are no instructions on how to use it. Amazon says the 54D is not available, but a search of the web shows plenty still out there. If you plan on transport the 54D is the one to buy. If you are not traveling the U8DD will work fine.
Does NOT work on a Mac.......2007-08-29
This may be a great little product, but it does NOT work with a Macintosh computer, which is not stated in the promotional material.
Sadly, I had to return it.
Chris
Hawking HWU8DD.......2007-08-24
I am not sure I am getting the gain advertised. The one advantage is that I can select the best antenna in a system with more than one antenna. It definitely won't speed up my throughput, that is system dependent. At my current location the system is designed to handle 400 users at the same time but the outgoing pipe is a DSL line! At my next location I will have a much better chance to check the gain in signal as there will only be one signal. I am a full time RVer.

Customer Reviews:
This item is not MSVista Ultimate compatible........2007-08-19
Amazon did a great job both on sending and the return for this item.
If you have MicroSoft Vista Ultimate, you should look elsewhere for a bluetooth USB adapter.
I was looking to add BlueTooth to my Durabook N15RI. I was disappointed that the Durabook does not support Bluetooth and that the Linksys adapter wouldn't work with Vista because I've been very pro-Linksys.
I was not going to rate the product since it does not work on my laptop.
But, Amazon requires a rating in order for me to post this.
Unusable with Plantronics Pulsar 590E.......2007-08-15
Although I could connect to the headset, the audio would only work for a few minutes until it went silent, where I'd then have to stop/start the Linksys adapter and reconnect. After trying to upgrade the Bluetooth software, My Bluetooth Places stopped working and the problem remained. Buy the Anycom adapter instead of Linksys. Although Anycom uses the same Bluetooth stack, installation is cleaner, range is better, and the audio is clear.
DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK!!!.......2007-06-19
When I first bought this product it was great and worked well then after 2 weeks of use the antenna connected to the device breaks off and did not work. When I called Linksys about the problem they called it and I quote "The device must have been put under unusual conditions." They also refused to give my money back. Well in the trash it goes!
No problems.......2007-06-08
The adapter works well. I use it for gaming with a motorola headset & vent - no issues. Plug and play usb keeps everything simple.
Works Great.......2007-04-12
I have several computers in my home and one is rather old. This USB plug and play device gave one of my older computers bluetooth capability. Just what I needed. Easy to install and use.

Works like a champ on XP..........2007-09-01
Purchased this item for a client to put an aging VPR Matrix desktop on their wireless network. Ran the setup CD, plugged the unit in when prompted using the supplied USB cable and bingo, we're cookin' with 4-5 bars of signal strength at 60' through 2 cement block walls! Experimented with placement a little bit, then velcroed the unit to the wall using the supplied plastic "shoe." Well worth the $40.00 to avoid pulling cable.
OK in XP, not so OK in Vista.......2007-08-25
I have been using Netgear for many years. I have the 624 router & the WG311T adapter in my son's computer, both have worked well now for a few years now. Got a new computer, dual booted w/XP & Vista, & thought I would try the WG111T USB adapter. BIG MISTAKE!! I got it to work in both OS's, but constantly had to reset in the 2 months I have had installed. Installation was not easy, took several attempts in both OS's before I got it working. I have been using Vista more often & was constantly having to reset, so I attempted to reinstall driver. BIGGER MISTAKE!!! This adapter is not VISTA friendly, I could not reinstall. When I uninstall driver before reinstalling, it does not completely uninstall in Vista. Reinstall just keeps adding additional adapters, same name followed by a number (I got up to #11). Called Netgear for help, after several failed attempts, they blamed it on Vista & told me to call MicroSoft. Did an internet search & found several other users having this problem, but found no solution. Ended up going out & buying anoher WG311T, which is what I should have done in the 1st place. I give it a 2 because it does work most of the time in XP. But I would not reccommend buying.
Wireless Technology.......2007-06-27
This product is absolutely terrible. It will not work with Vista. It gives you the blue screen of death, and has a dialup + connection. It's got broadband speeds but disconnects from the wireless network just like a dialup connection. It kills hard drives by making Vista freeze up. Vista is unstable because of this piece of junk which overheats and disconnects from the network.
DO NOT BUY NETGEAR PRODUCTS.......2007-06-16
I bought this wireless adapter about 2 years ago, and discontinued using it after about two months because the connection was very sporadic and slow. Their customer support staff was totally and completely unhelpful. I later found out that part of the problem was the Netgear wireless router, which was unreliable in its ability to transmit the signals, and I had to unplug and then fully restart both the cable modem and the router several times a day. I switched to a Netgear wire router, which was only slightly more reliable and was able to deliver higher speeds, but I still found myself unplugging and restarting every few days.
I recently bought a new non-Netgear wireless router (Linksys, which works great), and the Netgear adapter seems to be working well, that is, until it starts to overheat. It only takes a few hours for it to overheat and it just stops working, so I have to unplug it to let it cool down then replug. I've read that others have been experiencing the same problem with their wireless adapters.
After trying 3 different Netgear products, I would NEVER AGAIN buy another product from them. Their products are inferior and prone to problems, and good luck getting technical support. Save your money and avoid headaches, DON'T BUY NETGEAR.

USB Wireless Adapter.......2007-08-23
Great Product; Easy installation; Has a short wireless range but nonetheless it is a good product.
Works Great on iBook G3.......2007-08-16
I bought this for my iBook G3 after the airport card stopped working. Installation was easy from the provided installation disk. Do note that once you install the software, you need to restart your computer. At this point, PLUG IN the USB adapter and go to System Preferences>Network. OSX recognizes a new device being used, so you have to click "accept" after your computer recognizes the device for the thing to start working.
It works quite fast on my home network.
The only PROBLEM I found with the device is that my CISCO VPN client does not recognize it as a Wireless card, so I was not able to connect to our secure wireless server at school. Our school uses WPA2 encryption which this device does not support. But, for home, non-VPN use, it works great.
It works, but if you have a Mac..........2007-07-19
This item is advertised to work as well on a Mac OS X 10.3 and above as it does on a PC. Well, yeah, but not quite. It has a tendency on some machines (most likely those older G4s without built-in wifi, that most folks would buy it for) to quit working and need to be removed and replugged in, after the machine has gone into sleep mode for awhile.
There is also a problem with it not loading properly from a restart, but addLogix has a patch available for that. So far nothing to fix the sleep mode problem.
On the plus side, when it does work, it works flawlessly. I think this would be a dynamite product for the Mac if addLogix would put a bit more R&D into the Mac driver.
Keep it cool!.......2007-02-11
I was finding a No Device message and strange dropouts until I noticed how hot this was getting. I was using the extender and I had placed it on top of a stereo audio device that was adding heat. Use the included adapter so it is surrounded by air (don't lay it flat on a surface) -- and connect directly to computer. Since then, very reliable and I used the statistics to optimize placement. Allows extreme 811.g level wireless speeds on my old flat screen iMac 17" -- I can use a slingbox on it with some patience. Would get 5 stars but had to troubleshoot on my own.

sound .......2007-05-17
like one of the other reviewers stated.. I too have had this item screw up my sound. i cant listen to music with out it studdering... shame on you netgear!!!
fast wireless .......2007-05-09
this is a usb type wireless adapter. it works with the n type of router. i did see a significant change in speed even with my netgear etreme rangemax router. dodnt have a mimo router yet.
however the area of coverage is no better thn any other basic adapter.
if you have a desk top then you can get a wireless card for about 20 bucks. these cards have the same area of connectivity. no change when i compared mine.
yes the speed is better.
DO NOT PURCHASE!.......2007-04-28
This USB adapter will cause your sound card to stutter in a horrible manner. Many users on the netgear forum are reporting this issue and NETGEAR is not fixing this problem.
This is not a problem with XP/Vista IRQ conflicts (I went through the process of verifying this myself, which requires me to re-install XP to get my hyper threading support back). This is 100% a NETGEAR issue.
Perfect addition to an existing computer.......2007-04-08
I purchased this for my server while I was moving it to a location in the house that didn't already have a internet port. It has worked extremely reliably... Currently I am using it in conjunction with a 802.11g router... but my next purchase will be an -n to complete the system!
