The included software is terrible and very difficult to use. I have a great printer and it still was able to mess every sheet up. I could not find any Word-compatible templates for these sheets, so we had to use the included software. Waste of $12.

The software for this product is not user friendly. I spent some time "calibrating" my printer and the result was perfect...on regular printer paper. However, when you printed on their label paper, the result was way off from the template. I, finally, gave up trying to coordinate my printer with their paper and threw the whole thing out.
Misled and Disappointed.......2007-02-18
I purchased this kit because I wanted to put a label on a DVD I made. There was nothing in the accompanying online blurb which indicated that it would work only with Windows. So I, a confirmed Mac man, found that the mounting disk would open, but I could not make it work properly. The stock on which the disc blanks and spines were imprinted seemed very heavy, but the adhesive-backed portion worked OK using the round plastic mounting device in the kit. PhotoShop made me a form that matched the printed position of the labels and I filled it in with my own design. None of the designs provided on the disk of the kit met my needs, and in any event I am not sure that I could have transferred them to PhotoShop.

If you have recorded cds and dvds and want to label them, use Memorex. The instructions are included plus a starter kit. Software is also included.
Overall: Great product, easy to use.

I've tried several CD label designing products, and concluded that Memorex's exPressit works best. There are several great features - every font that your computer has, the program will have, so if you download/install some new fonts, exPressit will pick them up and make them available for use. Also, you can import your own photos and make cool and creative CD designs, vs. just having the set pictures that other programs provided. If you're interested in selling your CDs, you can make professional looking disks, with things like circular writing, and various color backgrounds. Along with the software itself, you get the CD stamper, and several sheets to print on, so you don't need to buy any extra stuff. It's incredibly easy to get your design onto the blank disk, which is a nice feature considering how many other brands use stampers that are hard to use and have disappointing results. If you're looking for a great CD design program, look no further - everything you want is here.

I AM ON MY SECOND PACKAGE OF THESE CD LABELS AND SO FAR EVERYTHING IS GOING WITHOUT ANY HITCHES. THE LABELS PRINT WELL, AND HAVE EASY REMOVAL FROM THE SHEET TO THE CD WITH NO PROBLEM. THE STAMPER, WHICH YOU PURCHASE SEPARATELY, IS A MUST HAVE, TO GET PROPER LABEL ALIGNMENT TO THE CD.

I have been making a lot of data CDs and DVDs and home movies so need a lot of CD labels. This 300-pack is the ideal one for me. I also use Memorex's label maker, which comes with one of their label packages (forgot with which pack) and it's very easy to use so will stick to this brand.

I've went through numerous disappointing trial-and-error exercises on many other labels. After I found these, I've used nothing else. Just *try* to find labels of this quality and quantity for anywhere near this price. I agree with all the other comments regarding their quality.
My own experience is labeling over 600 discs now over the past two years. So far, I have had no issues with the integrity of the label itself and only minor fading issues (but this is the case with any matte-finish label). Peeling has occurred by *user error ONLY.* If you touch the CD/DVD surface with dirty hands, the label may not stick well in those spots. Just don't do that and all is well.
Last, if you plan on labeling over time, invest in decent labeling software. I use SureThing CD/DVD Labeler Surething CD/DVD Labeler: Deluxe V5 and love it. Note that I've tried their label refills and won't do so again. Stick with the Memorex!!

The labels are a little thin and cannot be used right after printing.
The color fades over time.
But The product reproduces without any adjustment to my printer.
I have not had any that peels over time as many do.
I like the product. Would recommend it for reproducing images on labels.

Wrong Item Sent.......2007-06-10
When I ordered this product with Amazon as the seller, they sent me CD labels - not CD/DVD labels. There's a warning on the back about using CD labels on DVDs (it could ruin the DVD content). It wasn't the product shown in the picture. I returned it to Amazon and the replacement product was the exact same CD labels! They finally admitted that they didn't have the proper product and refunded the full amount. At this writing I'm trying again with another seller selling through Amazon (This price is just too good). I hope things go better this time.

I bought these so my CD collection would feel complete and I am very satisfied with this purchase. Just make sure you have the Memorex CD Creator program, for the layout won't work with any other CD labeling program.

I bought these to make labels for my DVDs as when I received them there is a warning on the back that if you use them on DVDs they may make the DVD unreadable. These are only to be used on CDs. Memorex makes specific labels that are plasic for DVDs and do not warp when exposed to the heat of a DVD player. 2 stars because the packaging is misleading.

These labels are to be used with good inkjet printers, that could print GREAT covers to these magnificient glossy labels.
Please, make sure the difference between these ones and the matte ones (also from Memorex). Although still fine, the mattes DO NOT APPROACH the beauty prints the glossy ones can achieve.
Unfortunately, I have been seeing ONLY the matte ones in stores recently, and not the glossy ones. A pity!
Great repoduction - but need SPECIAL CARE.......2007-06-14
I've used several packs of these labels to cover my DVD disc's. They make great repoductions of my pics or art work, etc. The main problem with them is how they go through the printer. I have used two different printers (i.e., H.P. deskjet 3745)... I ALWAYS PRINT ONE LABEL AT A TIME ... but if you place the full sheet in the printer (2 labels per sheet) - the first (or top) label prints fine, however the blank second (lower) label tends to peel off and jam the printer (a big mess to clean out). To solve this problem, I cut an unused sheet in half (making an upper & lower half) - but printer must have more than half sheet to completely print the upper label. SO, I "scotch tape" a half sheet of similar weight to the botton (i.e., 60 lb paper) - now I again have an 8.5 x 11 inch sheet ... then my upper (or first) label usually prints fine - with no jam.

The software is intuitive. If you don't like the supplied clipart ....... use your own. I've used the supplied software for over a year and prefer it over all others I've used. It allows use of any font. It allows scalable rounding of text. The complaint about graininess is caused by trying to enlarge an image too much. There are limits. I do multiple disc set sometimes and this software allows me to easily mark disc numbers. The labels themselves are opaque enough to hide most manufacturers pre-printed labels. If you are not happy with this product, you won't be happy with any other either.

I vehemently disagree with the many customers who gave the Memorex CD Markers a poor review! I'm not quite sure what they were expecting, but these markers write very well. These bad reviews must be from the competitor, possibly Sharpie! I have 100's of DVD's & CD's in which were labled with these markers and the ink is very visible and has stayed that way for years.
The Memorex CD markers come in a package of 4 colors, red, green, blue and black. The only color that could be seen as "light" is the green marker, but it still isn't horrible. I've had these markers for 4 years and they are just now beginning to dry up, however the blue & red are still perfect.
Again, these markers are of good quality and for the price they're outstanding! Don't be fooled by other poor reviews!

The software is hard to use. For example, when browsing styles initially, you only see a small thumbnail, which makes it very hard to pick a style from. I also had problems getting a centered label. I used quite a few sheets of the labels trying to "calibrate" the printing, only to realize it prints it in a different location every time. This may be just an issue with my printer (HP Deskjet 5440), but it is off by up to 1/2 the label most prints. Also, the small tags in the center make the labels look unprofessional.

As usual I jumped into buying something without reading the fine print or these reviews!
I thought I was getting a label maker that was easy, that could "read" the cd and list the songs automatically, after I pick the style. It doesn't. I have to manually type the tracks and information. Also, it is not adapatable to any other paper than their own memorex.

The product is a good value. It performed well and was fairly easy to use. I only wish it would allow importing play lists from iTunes, all text had to be manually input. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the product.

The main reason I bought this kit was for the label applicator, the software was secondary. Good thing that I didn't care about how good the software would be, because the software for this is, in a word, deplorable.
It doesn't have support for ANY other label sheets other than the memorex brand, which leaves you stuck with their labels. Its got some nice features in the software, but their poorly implemented. For instance, it can automatically resize an image to fit a CD/DVD, but if you've rotated it before that, the rotation is lost. It has a lot of minor quirks like that, and they add up to an annoyance to use this.
If you get this product, find a better labelling program to go with the label sheets and the applicator.

The software is absolutely worthless. It has such limited formatting control that you will be unable to flow text inside the label, or outside the center hole, forcing you to position every line manually.
Because the software is written in Java it cannot import any of the common formatted styles (such as MS Word), further limiting your options.
I ended up uninstalling it and using Visio.

Will not print on my HP 3210. After a while, the drop-down menus appear blank--trying to save the hard work is impossible! Does not allow me to open ANY of the picture files in my computer to copy images--I have to go through several steps, copy and paste, copy and paste, via a MEMORY STICK!... One star is one too many.

I have a HP932C printer and this is perfect. I am able to import any picture from the internet and put them on the DVDs and then put text or other effects on them. It is perfect for all my backups and they look as good as your printer can print! The lining up is 100% perfect for me. What it shows on screen is exactly what I get. Extremely easy to use! I am now looking for blank labels for this because its so easy and I will never need anything more!

This is a fantastic budget solution to CD labelmaking. For those of you who don't have the cash to buy the new HP laser scribe towers or the Epson printer which prints directly on CD's, this offers an affordable option to CD labeling. I have experienced some locking up while designing labels, however, I was able to limp along and complete the task I was working on. The labels turned out really great, not the most user friendly software in centering and bending text around the shape of the CD, but I was able to get it done and the labels looked professional because I was meticulous while designing.

I use a Lexmark 4 in 1 printer and my CD/DVD labels turn out great.
