Sorry to disagree but.............2007-03-23

I've had mine for over a year now, I bought it as a refurbished item on ebay to boot and it has worked really good for me.
the copier works very well and so does the scanner, I have printed some of my family pics on it and it does fairly well, it's not designed to print profesional pictures and any one with common sense would agree with that fact.
it is I believe fax capable even though I have had no use for it.
I think in my opinion and experience this is a very good Printer I would recommend it!

now I think that you should take into consideration the other reviews but take them with a grain of salt, after all this is an electronic and electronics in this day in age are made to be dispossable

Now cartriges, well they are not the most expensive but if you are an occasional user they can seem expensive, but they will last you several months then again you could try to buy generic cartriges they are much cheaper.

Lexmark off the mark!.......2006-09-13

This printer is a piece of junk! After numerous breakdowns and unreliable print jobs I'll never buy Lexmark again. Cost of ink is outrageous and adding to the problem they are used up in no time. My wife and I have only used this for homework handouts and maybe several pics. Go with Brother. PC mag just put an article out saying how good some of thier products are. Good luck if you do decide to buy.

Broken!.......2006-05-19

This printer seemed too good to be true for the price, and it was!
Less than a year after purchase, and several overpriced ink cartridges, the thing decides to stop loading paper properly - only one side loads, so it's a constant jam - therefore the printer and copier functions are dead. Now I'm left with an oversized scanner.

Color prints terrible .......2006-04-03

If you are running a SOHO setup or mostly print black and draft prints, this all-in-one is handy to have around. The multi-function capabilities and ergonomics are friendly. Print output leaves more to be desired, especially in color mode where the black output is compensated by mixing colors from the color ink cart.

Forget about even a half decent photo prints with this printer.

Nothing But Trouble.......2005-12-13

I hate this printer. I have had two of these. The first one decided to break down completely, and Lexmark very graciously sent me a new one. I do have to say, their customer service is great. Unfortunately the printer they sent me was no better. It'll print about two to three pages before it decides to quit, and then nothing you do will make it print properly. The scan function has never been problematic. The copy function, as related to printing, has similar issues. I never tried using it as a fax, but if it won't print, I'm assuming that it won't fax either. The color cartidge is singular leading to a waste of ink when one color runs out.

Note: I do use Macintosh computer and software.

Terrible!.......2005-04-16

Had it about a year, then the black ink stopped working even with a new black ink cartridge. Searching the web, I note others have had the same problem. It still functions as a scanner, but won't print.
Also, I found the print on the light side, when it was working.

Lexmark hits the mark with this All-In-One .......2004-08-06

Setup: Getting the Lexmark X5150 out of the box was the hardest thing. The setup guide is the first document on top and it's a simple step by step guide. Once the ink was installed and it was plugged in the driver CD took over and I didn't even need to reboot to install my new printer.

Quality/Scanning: On the normal settings black text is darker and very sharp. Most photos on plain paper are sharp and colorful. If you want the best though go for the highest ink settings and photo paper. Scanning an image at 150 dpi only takes about 15 seconds. 300 dpi scanning can take up to 45 seconds. Copying without the computer is rather useful. You just hit the black or color copy button after you put your document on the tray and it starts to scan. The printer starts to print before the entire scan is done so there's little lag time.

Software: Roxio Photosuite 5 comes packaged with the printer but I already have my own software installed.

Size: The Lexmark is taller than the HP PSC 1350. At the base it covers about the same desktop space. When it's folded up and the trays are in it isn't all that difficult to transport.

Overall: I love this new Lexmark. Don't be distracted by the ink costs if you're looking for a cheap printer. The ink cartridges are higher yielding than the HP 56 Black and 57 Color. If you're looking for massive ink usage, go with a low end laser printer. Otherwise if you're just the occasional printer and scanner like I am. The Lexmark fits the bill and saves your wallet.

Nice for the Price.......2004-06-08

I saw this by chance and ended up getting it because the price was right and it had the "all in one" feature. I must say, that it has worked really great. The speed of scanning and printing is awesome. I've been able to scan and print photos for framing within 10 minutes, whereas on my HP it took about 30 minutes.

For the price, you get a good scan and printing that is fast and pretty true to what you scan. One caution, I was scanning without printing at first and the scanned image on screen looked too yellowish. I had a cow and had a not so pleasant experience trying to get a useable answer from Lexmark's online tech support. But once they suggested I print the image to show them and I did, I found that the image printed like what I'd scanned. It did not have the off color tints like the image did on the monitor.

Really, I've been surprised and now use it more than my HP. The copy function is cool, because you don't even have to have the computer turned on to use it. Copies are quick and you can adjust the ink levels to get it as light or dark as you want. Plus copies in color or B&W. I like the machine alot and I'm very glad I got it.

why i gave this printer 3 stars? 2 reasons... 1 i can't find the ink anywhere. 2 all of a sudden it's much cheaper than what i paid i just hate when that happens

Great Printer for Great Price!.......2004-04-13

I needed a printer, but one that had several features altogether. The scanner, photocopy, and printing features are all great. The quality for printing can be adjusted accordingly especially for rough drafts to conserve ink for final prints. This is a great buy for buyers like myself looking for budget price and having many features all in one. Also the usb cable works fine, I saved about $13 with the included one. I've been using this printer for about two months and no problems whatsoever. Installation is a breeze just follow the manual and display menu. It even has a power save feature that can be adjusted accordingly. Great quality for great price. Of course I bought mine when it was $120 which was outstanding in comparison to almost buying the Lexmark X1150 with no usb cable for $100.

No support, now it's just a paperweight........2003-08-27

This was a good machine, and it worked fine for me under windows (xp), though I was a little concerned with how fast the ink seemed to be used. All in all I was very pleased with my purchase. Until I switched to a Linux distro, now it's a paperweight. Aperently Lexmark offers some limited support for some of its machines, but this isn't one of them. The newer Linux distributions are easy to install and easy to use, and hardware suppliers are going to have to start offering support if they want to keep us. I'll give it to family or a friend, but I won't buy another Lexmark.

Great Printer!.......2003-06-01

Excellent printer.. Fast, Great Quality, Good Interface, All in One cartridge and printh-head so no worry about it drying out and throwing ur printer away like many epsons. Can get it infinitely cheaper (try 1/2) elsewhere though. The Dell printers also resemble this one about as close as it can get.. well the label is different.. lol

I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of this unit. I was going back and forth whether to buy a multifuntion or a photo quality printer. After printing a few pictures on this unit I was stunned. WOW! the picture quality is awesome. Scans and copies are top notch, but I was really impressed with the picture quality. Software is easy to install and understand and the unit is easy to operate. If you are looking for a great all around unit..buy this one! You will not be disappointed.

Awesome machine.......2004-03-27

I struggled over what printer to buy because every time I tried to find one that was rated a 5 star, the companies would not ship to APO addresses. I found this printer on a military intallation for $109.00 and bought it hoping that it would do what we wanted it to do. It has turned out to be an awesome printer. We have scanned in tons of pictures and have not had any problems with scan quality. We have also printed pictures and the print speed is way beyond my expectations. I can print full color pictures in less than 30 seconds. To me, that is way more than I was expecting from a $109.00 printer. Lexmark has done great on this one!

Great Inexpensive Multifunction Printer.......2004-03-09

I've had this printer for one year. It replaced all my bulky machines. I'm able to print digital pictures, fax, scan,and copy. Very easy software which also provides help regarding any questions you may have for it.I have purchased two more for my family members. We all love it.

Decent price - not so decent product.......2007-02-08

After shopping around for a standard phone with callerID and no answering machine (no power outlet nearby), I came across this phone that had good ratings and was reasonably priced.
I like the look and feel of the phone. The buttons are big enough and the speakerphone works good.
However, when the unit is wall mounted, the LCD display is angled down, and is hard to see unless you crouch down to look at it. Of course, that depends on how high your phone jack is, and how tall you are. I bought two of these phones and both locations I put them were too low to see without crouching down.
The other problem is that three out of our four family members complained that they could not hear the caller very well. I don't know if plugging the unit into a power jack would have made any difference. I could not try that because the unit did not come with an AC adapter, plus I have no power outlet close enough to reach.
So, I had to take both phones down, and put our 15 year old ones back up.

Good Phone, Lousy Customer Support.......2007-01-16

I actually like the phone quite a bit. It works pretty well in almost every regard. Sound quality is very good, buttons are easy to find and use, and the feature set is pretty good. Overall, a nice phone and a good value.

However, this item is advertised as having 20 number memory, which is 10 "one touch" and 10 "two touch". I have not been able to get the two touch feature to work.

I tried calling the customer support number. I could never get an answer. I was always put on a queue, waited for a couple of minutes, and then offered a voicemail option or dropping the call. I left messages, and never got a call back. I (twice) tried recalling immediately after getting booted. I tried for an hour. No joy. Don't buy Northwestern Bell Phones unless you are sure nothing will ever go wrong.

This is a real lemon. The volume does not work properly and distorts the sound. The touchtone keys stick even though I have had this phone less than 6 months. I would like my money back.

Caller ID Stopped Working on Day 3.......2006-10-18

Love this phone.....if only the Caller ID would work! It worked fine on day 1, day 2 worked on and off.....day 3 Caller ID not working. Tried moving the phone to different outlets, removing the batteries & putting them back in, tried new wire etc.... The phone works great otherwise. Loved the Caller ID when it was working--much larger than most and easy to read. Oh well!

Everything you want in a corded phone!.......2006-10-15

Corded phones with features are becoming harder to find now-a-days. My home needed one corded phone for sure fire communications during power outages, mobile phone down for whatever reason, etc. This is one of the few corded phones with caller ID and no answering machine built in. The greatest feature of this phone is it has a HOLD button so one can place a call on hold while one gets high tech cordless, etc. Also with the built in speaker phone this phone is great in the kitchen. Highly recommend this for your one corded phone in the house!
