Don't pay $50 for this camera.......2007-08-24

My main point in writing this review is that you can get this camera for much, much cheaper by buying it used or elsewhere.

The Holga is fun and I know many people who swear by it. While I personally have never been extremely into lomography/"plastic fantastic" cameras, if you are this is a good camera and the advantage of using medium format film is wonderful. Also there are scores of websites that will tell you all the ways you can modify your Holga. So have fun! But seriously, there's almost no reason why not to buy this item used. I would not pay more than $20 for it.

The camera is fine. Amazon service sucks. I tried several times to cancel this order because I found it cheaper on another site, and although your website says I can cacel anytime prior to shipment, it kept me in the never ending loop without giving me the ability to actually cancel it. You SUCK!

These camera's are great for enthusiasts! I gifted my roomate this one for christmas (as I already own one, and she borrows it from time to time). We are both photo majors, and it's easy to get swept up in new technology. Sometimes its benificial to go back to your roots ;)

Expensive kit, fun camera.......2005-02-11

This is a great camera for those wanting to experiment with "artsy" shots, or even advanced photographers wanting to return to their roots. Nothing about these shots are adjustable - f-stop, exposure, ISO are always constant.

The camera is great, but the kit seems a bit overpriced. It includes a Holga book with excellent pictures, but the internet is also an excellent resource for high-quality Holga images. It includes no instructions - because that would take away from the experimentation. It does include one roll of film and a roll of electrical tape (a must-have with all the light leaks on this camera), but purchasing all of the elements in this starter kit seperately would be much less expensive.

This camera is meant for modifications, and there are countless websites that list detailed instructions. My main complaint is a lack of a tripod mount on the camera - although the best pictures are taken in direct, outdoor light when a tripod isn't as necessary. Experimenting with it in the dark since the exposure is constant is nearly impossible.

Overall, I am very happy with the camera. As a primarily digital photographer, it's a great learning experience to return to film in such a non-controllable environment. I would suggest buying the elements seperately from this specific kit, but I give the camera five stars.

This cheap little plastic camera is a great toy. Tired of worrying about what f-stop. what lens, that you just need that 80-210 zoom, how many mega pixels or frames per second? Just pick up this camera.

It really makes you think about the shot, not about the gear. Get back to the fun side of photography and be creative.

This kit is worth it, includes film, batteries, a book to give you ideas and a manual.

Worth every cent .......2004-12-11

First off, the Holga is awesome. Its shots are really in a class of its own. I've done both personal and editorial work with this camera - and its images are fantastic. They have real character, great color, and a romantic feel. It is, hands-down, my favorite 120 camera.

The package has really great content. The "Mes Vacances Avec Holga" photo book is loaded with beautifully printed shots. The instructions are indispensable, and the tape, film, and batteries are certainly useful. If you're new to Holga, or buying this as a gift, it's a wonderful package.

Things like taping the sides, shoving cardboard under the film roll, and mod'ing the camera are all part of the charm. Ultimately, the Holga is a dead-simple piece of machinery. Play with it and experiment. If you want a serious and complicated 120 camera, there are plenty of used and new choices out there.
If you want a simple one that takes amazing photos like nothing else, get the Holga.

For Audiophiles Only.......2007-09-03

If you are an audiophile, this is the MP3 player for you. I've bought 2 new Creative players since this one, including the MuVo v100 and the Vision:M 30 gb Zen and I hate them. They sound awful. I thought since the Nomad II C sounded so good, all Creatives would be just as good. Wrong!!! The newer ones do more, they're cooler, and they're easier to load, etc., but that's it. The only problem I had with my Nomad IIc was that the headphone jack no longer makes good condition, but then my Zen is the same way, and it's a lot newer. Audiophiles, go to Ebay or wherever you have to and get one of these gems!

Great Little MP3.......2007-02-28

This was the first MP3 player I ever had gotten. I got it at a bargin price, so I figured, "let's just see how good can it be?" It turned out to be wonderful for the price, and size, and ease of use! Yes, as is it only holds a small amount or songs. BUT, you do have the ability to upgrade to double or triple the amount with a Smart Card. Why not, for this low price. The sound is wonderful also. For this price, buy it, it's worth it. I do slao now own a Creative Zen Micro. I still use the Nomad for hard trail stuff, it is worth it!

I wish I made a better choice when I gave my father my christmas list with this on here. I should of known that 64MB only holds about 25 songs. I have 42 CD which is 566 songs on them. That 13.5 songs per album.The headphones don't last over six months, you're always buying batteries like crazy and sometimes the little thing lock up on you. I have drop this thing like crazy so many time that I have to give it some time to play again. The next on I'm getting will be between 1-4GB which is 250-1000 on mp3 fomat!

I live in the mountains of North Carolina and engage in many fun wilderness activities, and I was thinking that I would need a nice, simple mp3 player to suit my needs.

This mp3 player has 64 megabytes of space. It is horrible.

512 mb = 120 songs
256mb = 60 songs
128 mb = 30 songs
64 mb = 15 songs

That's ABOUT what the sizes are. I can't even fit a whole King Crimson CD on it. Hell, I can't even fit a whole King Crimson SONG on it. How bad is that?

Either way, no matter who you are, you don't need this thing. Hell, it's 100 dollars anyway. Buy some other mp3 player that has more space and get happy. Go for a Creative Zen or something.

And don't talk to me about "upgrade cards" because those are even more retarded.

Great Design/Sound/Durability.......2005-08-04

I bought my Nomad IIC when it first came out years ago. It is now beaten up from bouncing down the Mt Bike trails or flipping off the elastic band of my running shorts and hitting the street. That it still works is amazing! I have really used this player nonstop...and now enjoy podcasts with it!

It is so easy to change volume...FF...RW...skip, etc. All buttons you need...right there and easy to access.

I have sampled the newer Creative sports type version and it's sound did not compare. Tried Rio's newer players too. The ipod is the only one that may have a slight edge.

This unit should go into the Flash MP3 Hall of Fame!!!
