A real puzzle.......2007-08-24
I bought this interface to record my Yamaha Drum DTXpress III on my PC (Windows XP) using Magix Music Maker and Quartz Audio Master. I have to follow instruction of one of the reviewer here (Araki) to install the UNO correctly. But, then I was not able to record myself using the two software specify above. So I spent time reading their Help Guide and do google search in an attempt to understand MIDI, sequencer, etc. I download Midi-ox to see if commands was sent when i hit a drum trigger. Midi-ox confirm that USB uno is working. But... why the software didn't recieve the commands (no MIDI notes appears on the editor screen and the volume gauge stay at zero). It did one week that i got the UNO and i'm still not able to use it well. Maybe i'm dumb! For all this trooble, if i had know... i had not purchase it.

I writing this review because I saw that someone wrote that this thing won't work if you have a Yamaha keyboard. Wrong. I have a cheapy Yamaha keyboard and it works perfectly with this. I also have a GI-10 Midi guitar interface and JV-1010, JV-1080 and a GR-30 Roland synthesizers. It works perfectly with all these with no time lag. I could not get this device to work at all however, until I installed the Asio For All Driver, which wasn't too big a deal since it is free. While USB connections may not be the most ideal for pro Midi, this is as good as it gets for a USB Midi interface!

This product is not supported by Windows Vista. BE CAREFUL if you have Windows Vista, you will not be able to install the driver.
I request support from M-Audio Web Page from Latin America and Canadian Teams and I have got no answer from any body!

Please see my review for M-Audio Studiophile AV 40 Speakers. I found the 2496 card to deliver a high-end, detailed, extended, dynamic, engaging, and very neutral sound, in combination with the AV 40 speakers and Audioquest Diamondback interconnect.
Excellent Sound Card but No Vista Driver.......2007-08-21
When I bought a new pc recently I installed the current driver and popped in the card. I soon discovered that the driver worked only for XP. As of 8/21/07 M-Audio does not have a Vista driver for this card.
I used it on my old pc for over a year and loved it. I wanted 24 bit audio and this one is an excellent entry level card for 24 bit.
If you're using XP and aren't upgrading or replacing your pc soon, this is a good option. One caveat. The driver may not play well with your video driver.
A MUST for amateur home recording from your PC!.......2007-07-12
If you are looking to upgrade your soundcard for recording purposes or just for the pure love of your music collection, the 2496 is the product you're looking for. I immediately noticed the enhanced sound compared to the card that came with my computer, and as a home-recording amateur, much appreciated the lines input/outputs for my stereo and midi controller. Installation was a breeze on a system with Windows XP and understanding of the software for the card was simple to grasp after a little fiddling with the levels and a quick glance at the manual.

Simply fantastic sound for two channel audio from a computer. This card is best suited for playing music from your computer over your stereo / home theater system. Most 2-channel computer speakers will require an adapter or new cable to use the RCA output jacks. Worth the trouble for the sound you'll get out of a decent pair of computer speakers.
Has a very high quality D/A converter built in for making digital recordings from vinyl or tape. Recordings sound excellent. Output sounds excellent through either the coaxial digital or analog outputs. Dolby Digital can be automatically passed through the digital output to be decoded by your A/V receiver.
Had no problems with the installation or functioning of this card in Windows XP Pro.
Completely destroys the Audigy 2 it replaced for music. 128 KB MP3 internet radio even sounds awesome through this card. Clean, dynamic and smooth sound. Very pleased with this purchase!!!

Polaroid's PDC 2300Z digital camera is a great entry-level 2-megapixel digital camera. To get closer to the action, the camera features a 2.3x optical (2x digital) zoom lens. The 2.3-megapixel CCD produces images at a resolution of 1792 x 1208, which is more than adequate for prints up to 8 x 10. The built-in flash features red-eye reduction, fill, auto, and off modes, providing a flash mode for virtually every situation. Images are stored on the included 8 MB CompactFlash card, although those interested in taking lots of high-resolution images at low compression ratios should consider investing in a higher capacity memory card. Images can be transferred to a computer via the included USB or serial cables. Good...Kinda.......2004-07-12
THis camera worked for about 2 months. After that time it started not working properly. I couldn't use the LCD and the Optical Zoom didn't work. But I left it sit for about 2 months and it worked...wat a phenominom. I thought the image quality was good for 2.3MP. I found the software confusing though. I hated also how it sucked up batterys and it used 4 batterys. Also it was pretty heavy. But overall it was a decent camera but had some flaws.

This camera is so easy to use. I have not cracked the user's guide. The quality of the photos is more than good. The software that comes with the camera makes transfering photos to your PC simple.
You can't hurt yourself taking pictures with this Camera. Simple yet powerful!
Great Value.......2002-02-21
This will be my second Digital Camera in over 4 years and I think it is a great value. The opportunity to switch from several different pixel levels is great for just about all ocassions. The resolution on the best setting is phenomenal. I haver used it at work and at home. The uploading from camera to PC is quick and easy. Erasing unwanted pictures is also easy to do. You can view the pictures on the LCD screen on the camera, on the PC, or on the Television set. I owned a Canon Previously and it was not as easy to use the resolution was not as good quality as the Polaroid PDC2300Z and I paid double the price for that camera. Also, one more thing to add.... The batteries seem to last a long time. You do not have to use the LCD screen to take pictures you can use the traditional camera view finder. That saves a tone of $$$$ on batteries. If I could rate this camera 10 stars I would!
Great Digital: I Went Through 3 Others To Find It!!.......2002-01-21
I've been using this camera for a couple of months and find it easy to use, easy on the batteries, and takes some great photos (be sure to stock up on glossy photo card stock to print them out). You won't buy 35 mm film again (unless you're a total professional photographer). The zoom gets you in for most shots; the selectable resolution will stretch the life out of the memory (buy more than the 8 MB installed to make the most of it). My only regret was that I had to go through 3 lesser cameras to get the right one = don't make the same mistake.
