I thought buying this from Amazon at $24.60 instead of used for $17 plus shipping&handling would make a difference ESPECIALLY since they offered a player with a RECORDER!

the player I revcived had a recorder but i neber use it.
Plus the so-called "10-hour" battery life is really four-hours and 47 mins.
Song capacity is more like 75, even with small files.

Not the first time I've wasted money on Amazon items, but it will be the last!!!!!

I'm sorry. You don't have to post this review. I recieved the Mp2 Player and was shocked to find out that it wasn't what I wanted. It was complicated and no where near what I thought it was going to be. I wanted a recorder, where you have "REC, PLAY, STOP, REW, FEW." I got this thing and it has an ear piece that I never saw on the web site before purchase. It was a horrible buy. It's sitting here. I won't use it. I think this might be the last time I buy from Amazon. Thank you for the chance of review. Have a nice day.

I am very displeased with this mp3 player. There is no case or armband to hold it and the ear buds are very awkward. You get what you pay for and although the price is reasonable enough...it's not worth 32 dollars!

Don't Buy.......2007-05-17

It froze first time I use it. It kept doing this even after battery is full. Also, I had problem transfer recorded movie to TV. It is very difficult to use. It froze so frequently, that I had not tried all features it claims. I returned the product.

Swiss Army knife recorder/player!.......2007-01-16

Got this as a Christmas gift, after having hinted to Santa that I REALLY wanted it. I'd been looking for over a year for a product such as this. I wanted a small device that will play back audio/video/pics and also RECORD them. The TV5 has an 'AV IN' socket that makes it possible to record video as .asf and audio as .mp3. It is neat to be able to plug arbitrary sources into it and record clips on a SD card. In addition to the AV input this device also has video-out, built-in camera and a mic. Lots in one little form factor!

Overall the device performs well. In adequate light, both stills and videos taken with the bult-in camera look crisp andd saturated. As for shortcomings - in low light, using the built-in cam, the image quality is rather poor (even in the highest setting) and video comes out pretty much all black. But it would be too much to expect otherwise from this inexpensive product. Another limitation (this could have been/should be redesigned) - the microphone's opening is a teeny 1.5mm hole at the bottom of the camera, right where you'd place your thumb when holding it up :( That makes the audio very, very faint.

For about $100 this is a good bargain. I expect to get a lot of use out of it.

I bought this unit for $299.00 in January of 2004, and by mid-July the CD player had stopped operating. Periodically throughout the months the CD player would just quite functioning while in the middle of a CD. Pushing various buttons (with no particular logic to the sequence) usually would get it going again. But two weeks ago, the player just quit for good-- reading

for $30 here is the good and bad of this player in human form :D

good:
pretty much skipless
loud volume for mp3's
plays .mp3,mp2 audio and .mpg video straight off a isoDVDFS (drop and burn with nero like a data dvd)
surpisingly clean picture for the size, i can read the titles for my mp3s on it
about the size of a gameboy advance

now the BAD
1. it doesnt charge the battery in the player so you either have to plug it in or take the battery and cord and hook it to the charger
2. the company website is for sale so if the battery pack goes out you will have to 'rebuild' the old one (around $10 to do if you have a old cellphone battery or 2)
no tv out (throw the disc in a dvd player and enjoy so not a biggie)

overall for $30 i am impressed, i use it more or less a a mp3 player than anything sees you can get 2.8GB dual layer dvds and it has to be pretty much slammed to skip. i also watch movies i make on it with little complaints even though they are out of spec (72 frames in a GOP,etc)

so knowing all that i would still buy it again

Got these for my sons. Battery time is great, probably due to the small screens.

Note these play mini-DVDs (camcorder DVDs) - just pick up blanks at walmart, amazon, target, etc. and use DVD shrink to convert your regular DVDs.

Hi, I would just like to let anyone know who might be considering this product that I have written the manufacturer regarding replacement accessories (i.e. replacement battery, AC adapter...etc) and I was told that there are NO replacement accessories available for this model. It may not sound like a big deal but how good is a cute little take-along DVD player once the rechargable battery stops holding a charge and no replacements are available?? Kinda takes the "portable" out of the equation since your only option would be to plug it in when using it (not too handy in a car). While my previous review of this product was quite high, getting this information disgusted me such that I would not recommend this as a smart purchase because, in essence, you might as well consider it as a "disposable" DVD player since you have no way of replacing either the battery or AC adapter should they no longer work or if you lose them. In summary, unless you get this DIRT CHEAP, its not a wise investment!!!

Poor quality.......2001-09-22

Be cautioned- these cd's start delaminating and skipping after a few months if used for music. CD's that were kept in jewel cases and never used after initial recording had problems. I haven't used them for data, but I imagine they'd be no different.

I have been using this cd-r's with my hp cd-rw 9510i and they are just perfect, not a single coaster, this cd's are fast and they had good quality.

Like I said, I don't think some of you know how to burn CDR's. I have had zero problems with these blanks.

I started buying the most expensive, then have progrssively gone the cheaper route. I must say, these are everything as good as the $2.00-a-pop discs. Unless you guys are burning at a speed that I am not able to(16X), and surfing the net, and playing a game at the same time, these discs are flawless when buring. You should read your owners manual for your burner--these are great and really cheap.

This is the worst media I've ever tried to use. .... Well about 1 of every 5 cdrs actually works. Most of the time I just get bad media errors. I thought burning at 1x would help, but that doesn't work at all. Be sure to burn at 2x or higher. ....Pay a little more and go get some real media.

Great cd's.......2001-08-01

I bought these cd's with much caution because of some bad reviews here but I have to say that I have 3 cd's left and not one out of 47 has failed. I don't know what everyone is complaining about, they work great on an HP 10X (I would have checked a 12X but I don't have one). I would say get these cd's now!
