The DVD doesn't work and Magnavox won't fix it.......2007-08-24

We bought our TV about 18 months ago and enjoyed it very much - until last week when the DVD player stopped working. I was annoyed, but reconciled to getting it repaired. I called Magnavox to get a referral to an authorized service representative. I was told there is no authorized repair for the unit, only replacement. However, the representative said I would receive a discount for a replacement unit. It would only cost me $499! UNBELIEVABLE! I never imagined that I had purchased a disposable TV. Magnavox will get no more of my money. I would rate this item zero stars if that were possible.

DVD Player.......2007-04-29

The DVD player on the model I bought (32 inch) was faulty from the start. Took in the disk my son picked out "special" when we bought the t.v. and will neither play it nor eject it. Customer service gave me the number of an authorized service center 30 minutes from me. It's hard to believe that yesterday I didn't have a television and today I've got one that needs servicing. If you are in the market for expensive hassles (with a bonus of disappointed youngsters), then by all means, rush out and GET THIS T.V.!

DVD quit after 3 months.......2007-03-15

I have the 26" model and I've watched two DVD in the 4 months that I've owned the TV. The DVD player is not working. I bought a refurb and it started acting up right after the warranty ended. The television has a great picture and works fine and has alot of features. Save the money and buy a model without the DVD player. I wish I read these reviews prior to buying it.

Magnavox tv/dvd - .......2007-02-16

Have had the 13" tv/dvd for 2 years. We use it only a few weekends a month, and have had no trouble with it during all this time. 2 weeks ago,however, the dvd player kept ejecting the dvd.Called magnavox customer service,serv reps very hard to understand and they couldn't understand me.20 minutes of repeating info and then the rep said that he had never heard of such a problem, this problem has never come up before in his experience. After reading several reviews on different websites about this model, apparently he was very mistaken. They would not accept tv back even with us paying for servicing.Website customer service "is not working at this time" for 2 weeks now. Will not buy Magnavox product again.Customer service was the worst of it.

DVD Player Quit.......2007-01-11

As with other's reviews, the DVD player quit working after 12 months (just out of warranty). MAGNAVOX has declined servicing or exchanging after warranty expiration eventhough I was expecting to pay for repair/exchange. They have basically abandoned a poor product. Looks like I'll be the one abandoning them in the future.

Very happy with this CD-RW.......2002-04-30

I've never owned a CD-RW before so didn't know what to expect, but we are very pleased with this one. I was going to buy a different brand that cost twice as much as this one, but because of the price and the reviews decided to buy this one. Everything about it has worked great! The software, in my opinion, is very self-explanatory! I've made several copies of CD's and have not had one not work yet!!

Orginal Problems fixed for nice product........2002-03-16

I recieved this drive at the beginning of March. After a week, I started having trouble with the drive door... it would not stay shut!! The Cendyne repackaged Verbatim I was told was really a Verbatim repackaged Lite-on. After some tricky dos firmware work, I relabeled the drive, loaded the lite-on firmware update and it works like a charm! Love it. got it here cheap...

Simple Installation, Fast Machine.......2002-03-16

I'm in no way a tech guru, but the installation instructions that came with the cd-rw were flawless. In less than a half-hour I had my old cd drive out, and the new one fully installed and functioning. My system, which is 5 years old, detected the new drive right away. I'm running a PII, 256MHz and have had no problems. Burning CDs is quick and easy as well. As a test run, I burned 10 jpegs and 1 .doc file in about 2 1/2 minutes. For the price, this is a great purchase.

I must say I am an adaptic software man and when this item arrived fast I must also mention.. it had nero and well haven't had much dealings with this but after installing and burning a few disk I must say the burner was fantastic and so was the software it is a much simple to learn and use than the other..but can't get over the speed of the burn I have a philips but only an 8x4/32 I beleive and I thought it was nice but this one put mine to shame. to bad it wasn't for me though, it was a customers I had gotten for her to put it in her system, now I must get me one also and I will say I have had a few and this one rates up with the plextors and some of the others, I like my plextors also and have seen here the price on some of them also they are just full of deals here and I will shop again..

CENDYNE Catching up to HP!!!.......2002-03-08

I swear by HP quality, there is nothing better, Yamaha's are next but way behind in quality. But now, Cendyne comes along, and they are offering this fast and furious burners.
They are serious, the quality is excellent HP like, and their prices are good too. I just bough 2 of them for the shop and they compare in quality to HP except they dont come with any decent software (I am using the HP stuff!) Decent and better than an off brand, yamaha, sony or any other wannabe burner.

Be wary: low-resolution LCD (400x240).......2006-05-12

I purchased this unit from Fry's for 149.99, and will be returning it in the morning. The manufacturer's specifications indicate it has Component (YPbPr) progressive output, but does not include the necessary cable to make that connection possible.

Most horribly, the LCD is specified as having 800x480 resolution, which is a 15:9 widescreen aspect ratio, but clearly, at a casual glance, it is not an 800x480 resolution LCD. I painstakingly measured the vertical resolution using a magnifying glass and ruler as 240 pixels high. This explains the crummy video image: it's only a 400x240 pixel screen. At 9 inches that's just horribly blocky. My unit also had one dead pixel in a prominent location near the center of the screen.

However, if you're looking for a budget-priced entry-level portable DVD player, and don't mind a low-resolution blocky display, this may be the unit for you. Just don't pay more than $150 for it.

Positives: Features out the wazoo for a low price.
Negatives: Lousy LCD.
