Cannon 4200f scanner.......2007-07-24

I have had mine over a year and love it. I really like being able to scan any document right into a pdf file.
Works perfectly with no problems

Bad software.......2007-07-10

This device worked fine for a while, then stopped working. When I attached it to another computer, it worked, but it won't work on the original computer. This expereince suggests a software problem, but though I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software several times, the scanner still doesn't work. There is no new software to be updated from Canon and the Canon software drivers install in an unusual fashion. I think that Canon may be a good hardware company but a bad software company. If you want a lot of frustration and heart ache, buy this scanner.

I bought this because Consumer Reports rated it well. I wanted something to do slides and all other types of scanning. I am happy with it but wish it did more slides at a time.

I bought this scanner for home use and have have been more than pleased with the performance. I have a Canon printer and this scanner works seamlessly with it.

Pros
- scans have pretty good quality

Cons
- stopped working after several uses and gave several errors. Troubleshooting with Canon did not resolve this issue. The device had to be returned.
- did not work with Mac OSX and not supported by Linux SANE (Scanner Access Now Easy) project.

Comments: overall, a no-bells-and-whistles scanner with limited compatibility. I would be happy to keep it... if it actually worked!

Good value.......2003-11-13

I've used this yoke for four years now. I think it is a good value. I am a pilot (ATP/CFII). I use the CH yoke and pedals with the X-Plane simulator to fly practice instrument approaches. I find my real IFR flying is much sharper if I fly the sim when I haven't been in the clouds for a week or two. I haven't had any instability. The only time I have had to adjust settings is after upgrading to a new version of X-Plane. I recommend this yoke to my friends.

A mouse or mental telepathy works better.......2003-06-23

Bottom line: this device sends spurious control imputs. It must also be recalibrated each time you boot and after perhaps 30 minutes of use... Use a mouse.

This seems to be a very popular item with the flight sim crowd. I am not a gamer and perhaps thats my problem. I am a real pilot (Private, Instrument, SEL, HP, Complex) and use MS Flight Sim to review procedures at airports I have not yet flown into. I bought this yoke to increase the realism of the simulation.

This yoke is a piece of junk. Aside from the spurious control imputs and constant recalibration, it bounces in both axes and does not feel or move anything like a real yoke. If you want realism look elseware. I currently use a mouse with MS Flight Sim; it is more realistic.
