I was happy enough with this product, but I wonder why some customers feel it is the fault of the product if they are the ones who drop and break it? Whould you blame a glass if it broke after falling???? Take reponcibility please....
Don't drop it!.......2003-06-06
I got this CD/Radio player as a gift, unpacked it, set it on the desk at my work and accidentally pulled it off the desk by moving away from it while wearing headphones. The player dropped to the floor, the CD player quit working. I exchanged it at the store for a new one. The new one lasted about 2 weeks, and maybe got dropped twice (by now i had bought a pouch for it to strap it to my waist and also to buffer any further falls). After that and maybe two more drops, the CD player was broken again. I still use it for the radio and have no complaints there, but of course it is a bulky portable radio only...

I wouldn't buy one if it only give 7 hours battery life. The lower price you pay initially is quickly eaten up by batteries. Get a Panasonic unit that gives you well over 30 hours.

STUFF I LIKED:
1) it has a radio! its awesome, so that if you get bored of CDs, theres always the radio there to listen to. reception was decent from where i was...some stations better than others. it even partially worked for a while underground in the subway lol.
2) sound quality in general is perfectly fine. it has enough options -the basics, play stop pause skip etc, and some program song things and random shuffle, intro, repeat, repeat all. im not that into hi tech stuff, so maybe to other people who are used to all sorts offancy buttons this may be a disappointment, but it was perfectly fine for me, perfectly servicable and adequate.
3) great anti-skip thing -45 seconds. it hasnt skipped at all so far with the antishock thing on, even running a bit. and you even have the option to turn it off if you want. pretty cool.
4) it has a "low battery" display thing to warn you.
THINGS I DIDNT LIKE:
1) the buttons are easy to reach cuz theyre in the front, but then if you try to put the discman in a bag or something the buttons get pressed by other things easily, so its best to just hold it in your hand which is kind of annoying. but thats just a minor thing
2) its rather on the bulky side, especially compared to super expensive new ultra slim models. its a tight fit into a really big jacket pocket. but its okay though.
3) personally i like the behind the ear headphones or earbuds or something, but this is traditional over your head earphones. theyre good quality though, the volume is fine, music doesnt get warped, perfectly servicable once again. it doesnt block out outside noise at ALL though, which can be annoying (especially on the subway). but theyre decent
4) sort of short battery life...my first set of new batteries got eaten up in about 6-7 hours...i dont know if thats considered good or bad, but ive heard of other discmans having battery lives of like 30 hours and such.
so overall, a really great buy...very affordable especially for all its features and stuff. i shopped around a lot before choosing this cd player, and im happy with my decision.
****EDITED FROM ABOUT A YEAR LATER****
okay, above was my review after owning this CD player for about a month. a year later, I realize it probably wasn't the best investment ever.
- It does have a sort of bulky cheap plastic feel to it, and after dropping it a few times (which i think is somewhat inevitable throughout the course of a year...), the clasp broke off, so now I use a big piece of duct tape to keep the cd player shut. That's fine though, it still works.
-The big easy-to-push buttons are still really annoying, so I always take the batteries out when putting the player into my bag.
- the anti-skip feature stopped working well. When I run, I just listen to the radio, because now the feature only lets me listen to 45 seconds of CD music before it starts skipping with a vengeance. Since I plan to run for more than 45 seconds, the feature is rather useless for running purposes, but still decent for bumpy busrides or just walking. The radio is still fine after a year.
-The display has gone kaput. You can still see the minutes, but the little lines that make up the numbers for the seconds have disappeared one by one throughout the year.
So overall, probably not the best buy, especially for durability, but it still works sort of, and I am somewhat attached to it despite its shortcomings.

Makes a great beverage holder.......2004-02-13
After about 3 months I started having problems with this thing. At first it worked great, but after burning about the 7th CD it would just quit working. I'd have to restart the computer to get it going again. Ever since then i've been having problems playing regular audio CDs too. Anytime I try to listen to a CD the drive won't read the CD, it says Please Insert Disk into drive yada, yada, yada. Stay away from this one unless you're interested in an expensive beverage holder.
Cendyne Products HAVE NO WARRANTY.......2003-09-14
I found out that Cendyne went into bankruptsy in August of 2003 just before my 48x12x48 CDRW did after only five months. Even their web site exclaims that they will no longer honor their warranty. Cheap drive, valuable lesson.

I bought a cendyne cd rw 48x12x48 last December. I never could get it to write. It quick working completely at 5 months. I contacted the customer service number which referred me to their website. The message I recieved is that they are going out of business and will not honor anymore warranties. This cd rw was a waste of my money.

Purchased drive 12/02 for transferring data files only. Quit working approx 20 days later. Loud vibration and would no longer recognize any blank media. Will still read a CD, on occasion--you guess when. No company support via email after three emails. I like it....but I don't........2006-01-24
I'm pretty certain this is really a Digilife under a different badge, but that remains to be proven. As flash based camcorder-things go this is at the higher end of the crop, but there's a few things that kept me from really liking it.
First, the good stuff:
Size: It's really small, about the size of a large pack of cigarettes. But since nobody smokes today, think of a small iPod.
Battery: Proprietary lithium-ion, more juice until you run out or it goes bad. I haven't found a place that carries replacements.
Format: Shoots in plain old Avi format. Takes pictures as jpegs, and can record voice and play Mp3's. Even comes with earphones and a charger.
Video Quality: Shoots at 640X480, and results are usually fairly clean and clear. However, the frame rate is variable and does slow down when it's dark. Further, the LCD display can't go as fast as the camera, so some clips you review may look a sluggish 10FPS until you play them on your computer. There's also a very noticeable delay (2 seconds or more) from when you press the button to when it starts recording.
Still Quality: Possibily the most feeble flash I've seen, but snapshot-level still pictures. In dim light the camera turns up the contrast considerably, to the point you're better sticking to bright daylight. The range settings (macro, portrait, landscape) actually work, and make a considerable difference in how pictures turn out.
Controls: Elegant, but also cryptic, it takes a while to get used to the various modes and selections. Suffice to say there's modes from sharpness to white balance to tinker with.
Feel: Here I think is my real problem with this camera, it just doesn't feel like one. I have a DXG 301V, which has the format of a mini-camcorder. In practically every aspect it is a poorer camera, yet I like it better because of the way it feels in my hand and the plethora of little controls right in plain view. The Deo feels like, and is, a toy.
Conclusion: For most people, this will be a decent little gizmo. For a cheap camera, it takes surprisingly good video, it's main requirement is having decent lighting.

BAD but has got good points to consider.......2002-02-06
The DMP90 has a lot of cons but have pros that you may reconsider.For the Pros, first of all, it is cheap. Almost every average income family would do. Price over everything !!. It is quite good consider for the money you pay for it. For those who have old computers but have no usb, don't worry, no usb needed. Just parrellel port. It comes with a comprehensive manual and not-so-bad software.
For the cons, there's a lot but i'll name a few. It has this distortion sound. It is quite audible if you listen to music softly. then the dmp is really battery draining. I suggest you use rechargeable ones. then there is the compatibility problem. it doesn't support windows xp. so if have to be stuck with win me or win98. (i learned that the hard way). this thing can only support one format which is MP3. you can't download firmwares or drivers to upgrade. so you would be stuck with an MP3 player forever.and last but not least. it's transparent cover. you can see all the ugly chips and some rusty parts. in terms of product support, i haven't try it because the dmp works like a trusted servant.
On overall, it is suitable for extremely low end users. Which are those who don't mind the cons as long as it is cheap, portable and able to play songs.Definitely not for power-sumers!

Six months ago this product had an awsome price to value raito (I paid 30.00 after the 60.00 mail in rebate), however times are changing. Memory prices are falling, and you can buy a player with 64 MB for 90.00 to 200.00 , and many of these include a radio and USB connection. The point, this is a good product, but I would suggest you consider another, more advanced product.

It has good sound quality, and cool design. Although it comes with 16M memory, which is not enough. However, I spend a little more to buy a 32M card, and it has became a 48M-player. Most important is that it is still cheaper than most of the MP3 players that are selling in the market.
Better than a portable radio.......2000-09-27
Well, i found this product very good for what i need to for. I basicaly use it for when i go for a ride. Although it is 16mb mp3 player, i found it good. This is because i would normally talk my walkman in my back pocket( only just fitted). This was too big and too heavy, and poor sound quality. The d-link 16mb player is light, small, and retains better sound quality. I didn't want to buy a $400 mp3 player for mountain biking, as i could easily damage it. so I went for the d-link, due to being fairly cheap. The only real problem is the 16mb of memory, but like i said it fair outways a walkman or discman....

This mp3 player is a good, convienent player. It comes with 16 MB. It has good features, but the memory is limited. My friend owns one of these. The sound is good, but again, they should have included more memory.

The Filter Set is comprised of two filters that thread into either the eyepiece or the filter adapter, which comes with the set. When one filter is used alone, you get 30% light transmission. When both filters are used together, you can vary the degree of transmission. By causing the amount of transmitted light to vary, the filters become, in effect, a continuously variable neutral density filter. At maximum density, the Polarizing Filter Set transmits only 5% of entering light.

This is very useful for viewing the moon.
I screw one filter into the back of the diagonal and another into the eyepiece.
You can gradually adjust the brightness and contrast by rotating the eyepiece when viewing.
