If we could give a most-valuable-player award to an audio component, the Memorex MD6450CP personal CD player would be a top candidate. By packaging a high-quality portable with an AC adapter, patch cord, and car stereo adapter, Memorex delivers a product that moves from your hip to your home to your car with surprising dexterity. This package even includes a padded wallet to carry 12 of your favorite CDs.

In addition to the basic operations (play/pause, stop, forward, reverse), the MD6450CP includes a button that overrides the antishock memory in order to save battery life when stationary. It also has an excellent LCD display and a mode selector that enables 24-track programming, disc and track repeat, and an intro option that plays the first 30 seconds of each song. The left side of this sleek machine features a Bass Boost switch that provides the lightweight, flimsy headphones with welcome low-frequency augmentation. Volume, power, headphone, and line-out facilities are on the MD6450CP's right.

The key to the MD6450's versatility is its generous 40-second antishock protection. How does it work? As the disc plays, the upcoming 40 seconds of music are continually stored in a "buffer memory." This CD player is extremely temperamental. It works well only on rare occasions. Spend the extra money...the frustration is not worth the price.

This CD player is just what i wanted for [this] price range with some nice extra features. The car adaptors are nice and the 40 second ESP is a great deal. The player just won't skip with it on. The CD Wallet is a nice bonus, and the bass boost is great. There are no faults with the player, but the headphones are flimsy and don't hold up. You sould probably get a new pair before the old one breaks.

I was lured to this product by the promise that it could be used while jogging. I was disturbed to find out that it is difficult to walk without the CD player skipping. Lots of great features included, all of which are poor in quality. In the car this product was okay. The anti-skip memory, a battery draining feature, must be used at all times. I was hoping it would only need to be used while jogging or driving, but it must be activated even while sitting. What a terrible product. I should have gone with dependable Sony.

I bought this CD player because it came with the car adapter and it was cheap. I mean, you get a regular ac adapter, a car cigarette lighter adapter, a car cassette deck adapter, plus the cable to plug into your home stereo system. It's a steal at 60 bucks.

I find it skips a little when I walk fast and carry it loose in my bag. could be due to the way the 40 second buffer works, ie if you skip to song 15, it plays right away, but the buffer takes time to fill so you may skip. in my car it never skipped, even when it fell off the seat onto the floor.

The sound is good. at really high volumes it's not perfect. Good headphones are a requirement, I already had some. Sounds very good in my car too, though not like a high end cd player. the adapter cables look thin and may not hold up over time. My car adapter may be broken, because much more sound comes out of the right than the left channel. I would send it back but I love having it so much I don't want to part with it.

If you have high requirements, you should probably go elsewhere, but I am very happy with mine. I think if you run, then perhaps an MP3 player with no moving parts is the way to go.

This subwoofer is very powerful and should be used with the volume on it low if you hook it up to a powerful stereo system. The best use of this subwoofer, I think, is for home theater. Once you set the volume of the sound level you like in the room, you can change the volume and frequency on the subwoofer to customize it for your tastes. IT WILL COMPLETELY FILL A LARGE ROOM WITH THE LOW SOUNDS SO EVERYONE CAN "FEEL" THE MOVIE. I was very happy with it and you do not need to crank it up to get excelent sound out of it. I usually don't turn the volume of the subwoofer above halfway. The "annoying" vibrating sound that you here when it is cranked at high volumes, is the result of the subwoofer cone thumping against the magnet on the back of the subwoofer. When this happens adjust the volume either on the subwoofer or the reciever that is powering the subwoofer, until you can't here the "annoying" sound. You will still here the low frequency bass. THIS IS A GREAT SUBWOOFER.

Finally figured it out.......2006-08-14

Finally figured out how to get around the constant rebooting issue. You shouldn't have to do this but the Camera does give a good picture. Once you open a browser and assuming you can log on and connect the first time, and after you have logged off, don't close the browser or go to another Web page on the same browser. Just minimize it and open another Browser for other Net activity. When you want to connect to the camera again, restore your minimized browser. You should have the Connect screen to sign in with. Have done this process the past few days and have connected everytime. It appears that when you log off from the camera and then go to other websites and then go back to try and log in again is when the reboot issue seems to come up way to often. Had also upgraded to the latest Firmware and that didn't seem seem to make any difference.

You'd be hard-pressed to find an FRS radio that packs as many features into such a compact and attractive package as Cobra's FRS115 Microtalk. In addition to having a multitude of advanced communications features, the Microtalk is the only radio in Cobra's line capable of picking up AM and FM signals. This allows you to listen to stereo broadcasts via headphones attached to the integrated headphone jack. Incoming FRS broadcasts temporarily disrupt the AM or FM reception, which, when we tested it, enabled us to listen to our favorite tunes and talk radio programs without missing an important transmission from a member of our group.

The product's design is as sensible as it is colorful, incorporating a flexible rubber antenna instead of hard plastic. The unit's many buttons are easily accessible yet difficult to push by accident, and there's a channel-lock feature that comes in handy when inquisitive kids (or clumsy friends) are entrusted with the radio.

A call button can be pushed to make other FRS radios tuned to your frequency "ring," alerting others in your party that you are about to make a transmission. There are independent buttons for adjusting the unit's volume and selecting channels, along with a microphone jack that can be used with a separately available headset to allow for hands-free operation.

The Microtalk did a great job in our tests, with a range comparable to that of other FRS units and decent audio quality from the built-in speaker. We expected AM and FM reception to be limited, but it was pulling in signals in a basement office that even standalone portable radios we've tested couldn't tune. A handy seek feature simplified tuning, and memory presets kept our favorite stations within easy reach.

If the included headphones were only better, this would be a near-perfect FRS radio. But even with that slight oversight, the Microtalk is a standout in a crowded market. --Tracy Baker

I bought one of these mainly because of the built in radio to use at the gym and it of course also doubles as an frs radio. Only drawback is the lack of ctss codes and the roger beep cannot be turned off. Does have a call button. If these aren't a problem and you want a dual purpose radio, these are fine.

Used it up in the mountains (washakie wilderness) with lots of trees to interfer however that was not a problem, it had better then a two mile range, Once I was in the creek bottom and was able to talk to the others at camp a good 3 miles a way and the camp was surrounded by trees

I have used both Motorolla and VTEC. And the COBORA had the worst range of all brands. Very staticy at even 100 yards.

An RV Must!.......2001-03-31

We bought two of these mainly for our RV. I was always concerned about backing our motorhome and loosing sight of each other, or walking the dog in a campground after dark. These are great for us to keep in touch with each other all the time, but especially after dark. We use them for bicycling and hiking, our models have the built in AM & FM radio's which eliminates carrying additional items. Handy for just taking to the beach, lake or wherever. They are very clear, easy to operate, lightweight and simple to program. We have not totally tasked the range yet, but it has been sufficient for us. Anyone who is into camping needs the added comfort and security of these units, especially if they have children. Also have found them very handy at the Mall with our Grandkids, not only for their location but security, and they love using them. We shopped every brand and style, but found these Cobra's were the best buy for the buck, especially thru Amazon.
