Advanced Accuracy and Performance Features
Featuring high-definition laser technology, the Microsoft M03-00045 offers laser precision as you scroll through your files. Smoother tracking means less strain on your hands and wrists, and higher responsiveness means that you'll quickly notice an increase in your productivity. The mouse offers four-way scrolling with a tilt wheel that allows you to scroll up and down and side to side more smoothly, efficiently, and easily.
The entire scroll wheel tilts from side to side, acts as a button, and reacts to how quickly you roll the wheel to enable smooth, accurate maneuverability. For example, if you're working with a super-wide spreadsheet, you can tilt the wheel from side to side to scroll right and left, without having to click the sheet's tiny scroll arrows. And because the mouse relies on advanced optical technology, you can use it on nearly any surface without having to deal with the hassle of a clogged mouse wheel.
If you work with a lot of digital imagery, you'll love the mouse's magnification feature. With this feature, you'll think that you have a magnifying glass pressed against the screen. With a simple press-and-hold motion, the magnifier enlarges the area of your screen that fits inside the lens. You can easily adjust both the size of the lens and the level of its magnification. The Magnifier works in most programs. (The Magnifier is not compatible with Direct3D API in full-screen mode, media players, OpenGL, and Layered Windows. If you are using Mac OS X, the Magnifier enlarges text and images on the entire screen.) When it's time to touch up photos or fine-tune to some detailed tasks, the magnifier will quickly become your best friend.
The mouse also features advanced Microsoft technologies that help prolong the life of your batteries, which means that you can spend more time working and less time running back and forth to the store. The M03-00045 automatically enters standby mode when it's inactive for a certain length of time, which minimizes unnecessary battery drain. In addition, the light in the mouse's optical sensor illuminates only as brightly as is necessary to provide optimal tracking power. And finally, the mouse features a handy snap-in receiver that plugs in when you're ready to work, then snaps into your mouse when you travel, preserving battery life.
Of course, as its name implies, the Microsoft M03-00045 is wireless, which means you'll never have to hassle with cords again. An ambidextrous, ergonomic design that features a rubber-sided grip gives this mouse a cutting-edge look and feel that will complement today's latest technology. So if you work with a computer that runs Windows XP and has an available USB port, the Microsoft M03-00045 could be the mouse you've always wanted.
What's in the Box
Wireless laser mouse, receiver, 2 AA batteries, software CD-ROM, and user's manual.

It is good for its price.......2007-09-13
I bought this mouse last year from amazon. Now, I am still using it. Even though it does not have "off" switch it consumes less batteries than some wireless mouse. I droped it a few times but it is still working fine (Durable). The bad aspect of this mouse is its receiver. Its receiver is pretty big (Some people might think that the receiver is the mouse). I like this mouse.
This mouse works great!!.......2007-07-11
This product does what it's supposed to do and it does it well! I have bought this for the office and my home.
Wireless Mouse.......2007-01-12
I love my wireless mouse that I received for my laptop. It works great! The batteries last pretty long too. I am very happy with the mouse that I chose.
Good wireless mouse, but ..........2007-01-10
the reason i give this mouse a 4 out of 5 is because of a simple little detail, INTERFEARANCE !!! dont get me wrong now, I've NEVER HELD A MORE CONFORTABLE MOUSE IN MY LIFE !!! but at work i placed the cordless reciver about 2' away from the mouse and reception from time to time was good. Ok could be that i use the mouse at work and at work there's a good deal of R/F walkie talkies (the black heavy ones) and on a constant baisis theres a high level of R/F interfearance. in order to resolve this issue i had to place reciver 10" away from the mouse. But if you purchase the mouse for home use (or if your office has no R/F interfearance nearby) the reception is EXCELLENT !!!! Very Good Mouse !!!
Great tool!.......2007-01-10
This mouse is up to the standard for the MS mice! Everything on it works as advertised. It has a L-O-N-G battery life due to the ability to standby when it's not in use. I especially like the lack of a cord -- less clutter on the desk. The one downside observation I have is the big clunky receiver that plugs into the USB port. You have to find a place to store it. That's a small price to pay for the ease of use and convenience.

Not the best on the Mac........2007-01-03
The cursor was kind of jumpy on my MacBook. I tried for a week and tried tweaking all sorts of settings, but eventually went with a Logitech.
Great mouse, long cord.......2006-11-10
Mouse is great. I was very surprised by the long cord that goes with the transmission receiver. Okay for desktop, not convenient for travel because of the cord.
A bargain.......2006-09-05
This is a great mouse if you buy it at the discounted price. The tilt wheel is fabulous. You don't have to worry about installing software because it is already installed in Win XP. I like that it is light and has extra buttons. Overall it is very good at least for me.
Poor wheel design.......2006-07-23
I think they really botched the design of this one.
I've had so many top-quality mice by Microsoft in the past that I'd no longer even bothered to comparison-shop when buying mice. I just figured, if it's Microsoft, it has to be good. This mouse shattered that illusion.
I use the mouse wheel a lot. Clicking the wheel to smooth-scroll a web page, or to open a link in an new window, are things I do many, many times a day. The wheel is the most important part of the mouse for me. Roll it, click it, it's got to feel right. Well, this mouse has two things seriously wrong with the wheel.
1) It takes about five pounds of force to click the wheel - far higher than any mouse I've ever used. Either that's either a serious design flaw, or I have a defective unit.
2) There's no tactile feedback, no "hills and valleys", when you roll the wheel. I loved the old Microsoft mice - your finger knew the wheel was settled into a valley when you clicked it, and it wouldn't unexpectely scroll the document as you clicked the wheel in the valley position. The Microsoft mice would scroll the document only as the wheel rolled over the top of a hill, never in a valley. (I'd come to loathe Logitech mice, because their wheels would register a scroll at unpredictable points, sometimes right in the valley.) Unfortunately, this new Microsoft mouse gives your finger no idea at all where it is - there are neither hills nor valleys. As you're gathering up that five pounds of force to click the wheel, the tiniest rotation of the wheel might scroll the document before it registers the click. So instead of middle-clicking that link you were aiming for, you've just scrolled it out of the way!
I won't even discuss the locations of the Back / Forward buttons...
Love it!.......2006-06-02
Can't believe it's only 13.99. It's big and comfortable, and the software is automatically installed in WinXP. I like the color too.

Customer Reviews:
1 Star is too many for me.......2007-06-29
I have now owned this mouse for over six months and despite all my efforts I would classify it as the most frustrating computer product I have purchased in my 25 years of PC ownership.
The good:
1) It almost works with my HP Laptop with the built in (Intel) Bluetooth.
2) It is fairly comfortable, but quite hard to pick up. It will slip right out of your hand, and often end up on the floor.
The Bad:
1) When it goes to sleep it takes from one to four seconds to wake from sleep and start responding. It almost always leaves me wondering if it has disconnected again...
2) It disconnects on my Win XP (Fully updated) three to five times a day. I must disable and restart Bluetooth to get it to work again.
3) It has a radically different resolution compared to the built in touchpad. I have been unable to resolve with software settings. This means when the resolution for the mouse is set correctly it takes an incredible Tapdance to get the trackpad to move across the screen. This wouldn't be such a problem except for the constant disconnects.
4) Battery life is the lowest of any wireless mouse I have used. That might be acceptable if it didn't do such a poor job resuming from sleep mode.
5) The price is the highest I have ever paid for a mouse. I felt if it worked as it should that may have been acceptable. I was wrong...
I would give up on it in a heartbeat if I could find another mouse that would not interfere in my environment with the other wireless mice nearby.
Great usability bad energy saver.......2007-03-12
I love the shape of this mouse, the computer's response to it it's good enough and the ergonomical shape it's comfortable enough. What I don't like and became a real problem is the fact that it doesn't have and on/off button and I have a laptop, so two problems happen when I move it with my computer: the batteries keep working and run out, or it would activate my laptop and I would sometimes find it on inside of the case and burning hot, not a good thing at all. I would have to buy batteries for it almost every other month and it became a hassle since it does not tell you it's going to run out of batteries but it just stops responding. On the flip side, my friend has the exact same one but never moves it around and does not have the same problem as I did, so there you go.
BEST MOUSE I HAVE USED!!!!!.......2006-12-29
I have used this mouse for 3 weeks. It is the best I have ever used. I am using it on a Dell M 1710 with Bluetooth. It connects as soon as I turn on the lap top. It is not shaky. I use it for CAD CAM design - programming all day. If it was unstable I could not do that. I don't know how far away I can get with it. I use it on a large desk and it has not had any problems doing that. BUY THIS MOUSE!!!! I am not using the software or the Bluetooth adapter that came with it. I just loaded the batteries and turned it on. The computer did the rest. Instant connection every time. I don't notice the lag that others are talking about. It might go to sleep after a while but it wakes back up most of the time without me noticing it at all. As far as battery life as said I have only used it for 3 weeks but I notice no difference from day one.
Great idea / poor design.......2006-09-05
This is a "ok" mouse if you do not plan to travel with it.
It is very comfortable - smooth and precise. The range is excellent - it works from at least 20 feet away.
However, I wonder who Microsoft was thinking of when they designed it. It is clearly not made for anyone who plans to travel. I travel frequently for business and got this to eliminate the hassle of dealing with the cord. (Wireless Bluetooth mice are great, especially on a plane where you don't have to deal with plugging in a USB.)
It is also nice to use for presentations. You can control your computer from the other side of the room.
As mentioned by other reviewers there is no on/off power switch and the batteries are difficult to remove. I actually broke the spring that holds the batteries in place. It is not desinged for frequent battery removal. (It's difficult to describe, but this mouse uses a spring that is "clipped" in there to hold the batteries. It should use "tabs" which are not able to be easily dislodged. The spring would come out frenquently when remving the batteries. I finally lost it and had to bend the internals to get the batteries to stay in place.)
I have forgotten to remove the batteries and come to find the mouse dead. I got in the habit of carrying extras.
The mouse also seems to lag when not used after a minute or so. I think that it powers-down to save batteries or maybe it's the Bluetooth connection. But, after letting it sit for a minute or so, you have to sort of jiggle it to wake it up. Not such a big deal unless you are using it for gaming.
Recently, I could not get the mouse to stay connected via Bluetooth. It can be found by my laptop, but for some reason it does not stay connected. I have updated the software and drivers. It still does not work. (It's less than 2 years old.)
I am not sure who would benefit from this mouse. It's too bulky and difficult for travelers to use (plus no on/off switch). For desktop users, you are better off using the regular wireless mice as they have less lag.
(I recently purchased the Logitech V270 for travel. This is a mouse that was designed for travelers. Compact design. On/Off switch. Carrying case. It's a little small, but that's a good thing.)
I cannot understand why anyone would buy the Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer for Bluetooth. I am not sure who it was designed for.
Not bad at all.......2006-07-31
I bought this mouse with the keyboard combo...
pros: 1. smooth
2. right left scroll and 2 extra (i use for back and forward browsing)
3. stylish, fits hand
4. works from far away!
cons: 1. changing batteries is quite a hassle
2. connection problems happen every now and then. disconnect microsoft bluetooth fixes the problem most of the time.
3. no on/off switch
4. auto sleep, so you have to shake it a bit wait a few seconds for it to "wake up"

What a waste of money! If you're smart, you'll venture on........2007-07-11
I received this mouse as a gift, and it was nothing but a pain. I've used all different kinds, but this mouse was by far the worst. The lag time to get it back up and running is awful, and I found that if there was any dust whatsoever on the underside, the dang thing wouldn't work until it was completely clean! The only plus side I could even remotely give this mouse is that it is larger, so it would be accommodating for those with slightly larger hands. Unless you feel like cleaning it (and I mean thoroughly) before every use, it's not worth it.
Note: after I got rid of this mouse, I went to Logitech duos and have not had a problem since.
Great mouse.......2005-09-05
I really love this mouse, and was a great upgrade from my old Dell mouse.
Nice Mouse But Newer Ones Are Better.......2005-06-25
This is a nice wireless mouse but I would suggest buying one of the newer wireless mice that Microsoft makes. While this mouse does the job, I feel that the newer mice just fit better ergonomically in one's hand and it's a more pleasant experience. I don't find the new horizontal tilt wheel technology in the new mice particularly useful, but it's another upgrade over this old style mouse.

Building a better mouse -> like building a better mousetrap.......2004-09-24
This is all you really need to know:
(1) The mouse works GREAT. It works just like a wired mouse.
(2) It feels HEAVY due to the 2 AA batteries inside. Although, few actually prefer the added weight as it makes the mouse feel more solid, but most just got tired quicker from the added weight.
(3) I'm on the computer 4-5 hours a day. I change the batteries every 3 months. Get 4 NiMH RECHARGEABLES (2 in the mouse & 2 in the charger) so you'll never be without batteries.
(4) For $17 (lowest price of the year--9/24/2004), this is a BARGAIN.
Overall great mouse, very small complaints.......2004-09-21
I got this mouse with the Microsoft Wireless Desktop Elite for US$105 in Australia, the mouse is a silver Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer 2.0 model 1007. Amazon has it at a bargain price, which means you should buy one NOW!
TIPS
Buy it for general everyday use, or get the Logitech MX700 mouse if you are a gamer and it feels comfortable (i found the ridge on the right side uncomfortable).
Install the software and restart before plugging in the devices, this solves some problems.
And remember to uninstall any previous keyboard/mouse drivers or software, i forgot to remove my old multimedia keyboard software and WinXP kept going into standby everytime i used the scroll wheel!!
NEGATIVES
Mouse is a little heavy with batteries, can get tiring with long sessions or gaming.
Far thumb button is a bit far to reach easily, a rocker style switch would have been better.
Third mouse button (wheel) is pretty bad, it takes too much effort to click it without scrolling.
Mouse software has basic functionality to customize the mouse, but no advanced features like Logitech's. Even nVIDIA has mouse gestures in their graphic drivers and they don't even make mice! So i think Microsoft should have spent much more time and money developing their software and drivers.
Software doesn't monitor actual distance from receiver, it says "high" signal quality, but from 2m away it is still "high", keep using it and it suddenly drops to "low". Software recommends a max of 3ft (1m).
Batteries a little hard to remove when replacing them.
The mouse feet are bad quality and easy to scratch, my old $10 mouse had better ones.
Recessed IntelliEye logo on mouse looks cheap, a translucent one or no logo would look cooler (yes i'm complaining about the logo, why? because it cost me over $60 and i've seen $10 mice without dodgy logos)
POSITIVES
Comes with Energizer batteries, did last 5 months before they got low, then they lasted a few more weeks before i had to replace them.
Mouse scroll wheel is fantastic, a small amount of pressure makes it move. But is bad for gaming as it is hard to control precisely like for changing weapons.
Comfortable for my smaller hands, and slight dents for fingers is good. I found the Logitech MX700 very uncomfortable because the ridge on the right is where my ring finger is.
My mouse actually worked at 4.5m (nearly 15ft) away from the receiver! But as soon as the software detects this (takes about 10 secs) it stops working properly!?!
Tracking seems fine for me, i seem to be able to get reasonable control for photo retouching. Maybe you should check the surface you are using it on, it doesn't like transparent or reflective surfaces. I use a 3M Precise Mousing Surface.
If you like buttons then this has 5 (but only 3 are easy to use), but the Logitech MX700 has 8 and much better software.
Don't really notice any lag from 0.5m from the receiver.
Software helper pops up if the signal is weak.
Very quick to resync, press the button on the receiver then device and it is synced immediately.
I can't hear the high pitched noise from the mouse unless i put it to my ear. This is probably because my PC sounds like an air conditioner! You might notice it in a really quiet room.
Some people complained about the delay when moving mouse as it "wakes up", I can't notice it, maybe they fixed it?
Nice matte black finish on the mouse, but it would be better if it was soft touch (like on some Pilot writing pens).
I don't notice any "sticking" on my mouse pad.
The LED angle is quite low so it's harder to blind someone (or yourself) and believe me, it's a VERY bright LED. I can see you looking at the bottom of your own mouse now :) lol

Customer Reviews:
doesn't work with all the programs.......2007-08-23
When I saw this product on amazon, I really liked it, more so for the price. However, I hardly use the fingerprint reader now. Reason: it doesn't work with Windows logon*, MSN messenger and Firefox.... oh did I tell you that Windows and MSN messenger were also made by Microsoft?
*I can log on to windows using fingerprint reader when I first start the computer, but not when login screen appears after a screensaver. I have an IBM laptop with a fingerprint reader which doesn't have the same problem
Unreliable, Problems with security and info.......2006-06-21
I have this reader and the APC Bio-something. And the APC is sooo much better. I find myself teaching this reader my password 9 times out of 10, and using it only shortly after. Perhaps a software issue. Either way, you shouldn't have to think about it. The APC, I am never worrying about...I know it's there and ready. Too late to return this - but beware.
Nifty gadget w/excellent mouse.......2006-02-16
First off, let me say that the price is more than worth it just for the mouse (I got mine for about $35). It has side scrolling, which was new for me, and really nice. The other great thing are the programmable thumb-side buttons, which I have set for Back/Forward--really handy for web surfing. It's a comfortable fit for the average hand. The only weird part, if you're used to an older scrolling mouse, is that the scroll button scrolles smooth (no bumps as you move the wheel), which is something I'll have to get used to. Overall, a great mouse.
As for the fingerprint reader, I think it's a big help. There are plenty of password sites that I rarely use and have a difficult time remembering the password/username for. The reader is great for those, along with other unimportant sites (NOT for sites that require better security measures, i.e. sites that do financial transactions, bank, etc.) While it is a great time saver, there are a couple of downsides:
1) If you forget your password(s) and the reader malfunctions somewhere down the road, I hope you have a REALLY good memory.
2) It only works for Internet Explorer, so all you Firefox, Opera, Safari, Netscape, etc. users are out of luck.
On the whole, the package is a great deal, if you can find it near the price I did.
Might crash your system .......2005-10-29
Mouse functioned properly, however, soon after installation, my computer would crash upon attempt to shut system down. Mouse and biometric device have their own software. Removed biometric device software, no more crashes. Conversed with Microsoft Tec. (polite fellow from India). His help consisted of nothing more than reading from the manual that came with product. Suspected biometric device was defective. Tried new device. Same system crashes. Software conflict issues confirmed. Purchase with caution if you are a windows XP user.
Pretty cool.......2005-10-24
I am just an average user, I check my email and casually surf. I probably average an hour or two a day and I think this thing is super! I got it so I could monitor my child's (15 year old) computer and internet use use. She was getting pretty good at figuring out my passwords. Another plus is I don't have to type in my passwords all the time to sites I visit regularly (i.e. shopping sites, my email,...etc.). Although I have several people in the household it recognizes each one, logging only them in to their individual identities. For the price it is a really handy thing. The one drawback which is really trivial is that sometimes I have to try it a couple times for it to correctly recognize my print, but that is only a couple of extra seconds, compared to having to type my info in every time. All in all I think it was definately worth the money!

Great mouse.......2007-04-12
No problem under XP. Doesn't chew up batteries like the Bluetooth desktop.
This is nice.......2005-08-20
I could perhaps be acussed of being a technoglogy neanderthal but this is my first wireless mouse. I am pleasantly surprised by the ease of use and the fluidity of this device. There are a lot of other products with similar features out there. I think that anyone looking for a high feel with low end price would be happy with this product.
I LOVE This Mouse!!!.......2005-06-25
Wow, another great piece of hardware by Microsoft, you cannot go wrong if you pick up this wireless mouse. Signal is strong, the mouse is very comfortable to use for hours upon hours, and the setup was a breeze. Yes, Logitech makes some nice keyboard/mice, but I always seem to prefer Microsoft's stuff. I don't want to support Microsoft but I find their hardware to be more comfortable and better design goes into their products. You will not be disappointed if you pick up this mouse!!!
***** HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Not a good mouse.......2005-05-17
1. Like the other review stated, this mouse is heavy. This is not good because it is difficult to make small precise movements easily. (Bad for gaming.) It is heavy because of the AA batteries. The only reason they use AA batteries is so they can pimp their product by putting a big sticker on the front that says something about 3X the battery life.
2. Not only is it heavy, the scroll wheel is also difficult to move. It feels like it was designed to move slowly. This is annoying. The driver software has a scroll accelerator option (probably because they knew people would complain), but the accelerator causes problems in certain applications.
3. The driver requires a reboot after installation AND uninstallation.
4. The tilt wheel is annoying and I have no idea why they came up with it.
5. Only one of the two `thumb' buttons is usable because the farthest one is out of reach without repositioning.
6. The ring around the scroll wheel is very large and obstructs the left and right click buttons.
Other than problems with every aspect of the mouse's design, it does seem to work.
Excellent Mouse with Idiosyncracies.......2005-04-10
I upgraded from a wired MS Intellimouse Optical, which I loved until its LED intermittently turned off and MS Windows failed to recognize what sort of USB device it was. This behavior continued even after downloading the latest drivers and when connected to another computer. So it surely was moving onto its next life.
Shopping for a replacement, I considered wired and wireless, Microsoft and Logitech. Wireless was a huge draw, especaially since it cost just about the same amount. Comparing wireless devices between Microsoft and Logitech, Microsoft had tilt wheel for the majority of the mice I liked. Logitech included tilt wheels only on their more expensive MX line (Cordless Click! models didn't look very nice IMO). I would have loved to get the Cobalt version but for some reason that one cost almost twice as much as this Crimson Fire. Purchased through an Amazon Seller, I received it on my doorstep for about $19 plus $4 shipping and handling. Unopened in retail package, it was a fantastic value!
I've been using it for a month and here are a list detailing my impression of it:
Pros
1. Easy and instant setup (because I had a MS Intellimouse Optical previously, all I had to do was select the MS Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 in the Intellipoint software and I was up and running)
2. Aesthetically pleasing (still love the Crimson Fire motiff)
3. Ergonomically designed, very comfortable, and every button is in intuitive reach (I have big hands and use a gel pad with integrated palm rest)
4. Functional (5 programable buttons plus tilt wheel--love the tilt wheel, great for spreadsheets and web surfing)
5. Responsive and precise (no lag of any sort, excellent for Unreal Tournament or Photoshop)
6. Fantastic build quality (tactilely pleasing, materials feel first-rate and craftsmanship is superb)
6. Battery included and is advertised to last about 6 months
Cons
1. LED does not turn off (as soon as the right battery is inserted, the LED light turns on and never turns off ever; MS has a Knowledge Base solution saying that it should turn off when the computer shuts down and the mouse is plugged into the USB--never happens; it continues to say that if it does not turn off, it shouldn't be a problem; seems like this will drain the battery--will it still reach 6 months of battery life?; currently, I remove the batteries each time I am done with my computer)
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;325975
2. Large transmitter base (I have a Targus presentation device that has a transmitter the size of a flash memory--small and functional it plugs into the USB; why couldn't MS do the same?)
3. No visual cue indicating the LED light is on like the MS Intellimouse Optical (same complaint as a previous review, it would be nice to see when it is on; turn it over however and you'd expect the LED to be off when the computer is off)
4. With batteries in place, the mouse is heavy (not problematic if you don't lift your mouse but I do once in a while; wish it were as light as the Intellimouse Optical)
5. Isn't ambidextrous like the Intellimouse Optical (I use my mouse in conjunction with a laptop and locate my mouse wherever I have room, that's left or right of my computer, so this definitely curtails my options)
Despite some idiosyncratic design choices highlighted in the Cons list, I love my mouse. My only real complaint is the constant LED. Does anyone have any suggestions on turning the LED off? Or should the LED just remain on all the time? I would still purchase the mouse knowing what I know now. It's a great mouse and if the LED turned off when it should, I would rate this a 5.

Mouse Good, Dongle Junk.......2007-03-23
The Mouse is very nice works great but the Bluetooth dongle is a piece of junk! The slighest pressure in the wrong direction and it is toast! If you purchase this mouse be prepared to also by a replacement dongle which incidently microsoft does not sell seperatly!!!!!
Best Computer Purchase for my Apple Laptop.......2007-02-10
Despite some of the problems I've read, this has certainly been the best purchase I've made for my mac. My Powerbook has Bluetooth integrated and it's so impressive wherever i go, to have a wireless mouse without any USB attachments bogging down my system. Just open the laptop and go.
Microsoft Bluetooth mouse.......2007-01-04
Awesome! Very comfortable, synced with my computer right away. Battery life is fine by me. I use it every day. Highly recommended.
mac owners!!.......2006-04-15
I hooked up to my mac mini 0SX10.4 it hooked up easily but when the computer went to sleep it would not wake up using my mouse ,I tried hooking up about ten different times unsuccessfully. real bummer because I really like the feel and portability of the m-60. I'am going back to my wireless intellimouse which has a dongle . My original idea was to eliminate all dongles. Ted
Traveler not considered.......2006-02-07
If you're like me you purchased the bluetooth mouse to have one less cable to worry about. Well, that may be the case, but now I have the annoying task of always keeping a second set of batteries and having to remove and install batteries. What were they thinking? Every product should have an off button ... I guess they were counting on their power management system, which causes the mouse to hibernate to save power, but this just causes a serious delay in waking the mouse up.
I was very disappointed with these features and the slow response of the mouse. If you are used to a quick response from a wired mouse, this product will certainly cause you to gain a certain level of patience for your mouse activities.
Someone please tell me of a better product that is more traveler friendly and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Works as promised.......2007-05-19
Had a few problems with signal strength, but for the most part it works well.
Kudos for the wireless mouse.......2007-01-10
I received the colbalt blue mouse on time without any problems. Initially, I had trouble installing it, but my son figured it out and now I am truly enjoying wireless technology. The price was right too as I hope to have many years of utilizing this peice of technology.
MS Wireless Intellimouse.......2007-01-03
Having used a wide varity of mice for my computer including the wireless one I bought from Dell when I first ordered my machine, I would highly recommend the MS Wireless Intellimouse. I liked it so much that I ordered another one for my office and have recommended it to many of my co-workers.
Waste of 3 gift certificates.......2006-08-31
I was sent a very nice wireless mouse. You have to have a CD to install this on your computer. I was unfortunately sent the wrong CD. I have been all over trying to find the correct CD. I have to buy the Wireless Mouse to get the CD that comes with it. With shipping this cost me around $25. Thanks for nothing.

What a joy to work with!!.......2005-07-17
The mouse is the best I've worked with. The software included is very easily installed on a PC with XP, can't speak for other computer types or OS. It's ergonomically pleasent in the hand. The five function buttons are easily programmable, I especially like the forward and backward buttons. The wheel moves the curser up and down the screen slowly or quickly, per your choice and it doesn't have the clicky detents normally associated with a wheel on other mice, further, the tilt wheel works smoothly and flawlessly. Overall I find this mouse to be the best value to cost from others I've owned. In fact I bought another just like it for my wife's computer. She is very happy with my choice and so am I. You can buy more expensive but frankly I don't know that there are better.
There's a good mouse.......2004-09-25
I've been using this mouse for about a month. Installation was quick and painless. It took a little getting used to, since I've always used "classic" shaped mice and this one is larger and ergonomically-shaped. Now that I'm accustomed to it, I REALLY like the size and shape (fyi, I'm right-handed and have pretty good-sized hands). The motion tracks pretty well for a wireless mouse and the fact that the LED doesn't shine all over my desk is great. My favorite features are the additional buttons (programmable, but I like the default BACK and FORWARD functions) and the wheel that rolls smoothly (i.e., there is no physical "click"); this means no noise, no click/bounce under your finger and no eye-strain or headaches due to images or text "jumping" forward and backward when scrolling (web pages, for example).
Do Not Go With Microsoft.......2003-11-29
I was extremely disappointed. The software is designed to disable the touchpad on my laptop. Microsoft support (as always) is the worst in the industry. Even if you have to spend a little more, buy a different brand if you are looking for a wireless mouse!
Good mouse but still needs work........2003-11-04
Pros: Great build quality. The wireless aspect of the mouse works well and tracks well with almost no noticeable delay. The mouse is very comfortable and feels good in hand.
Cons: Doesn't side scroll in Visio for enterprise architects as well as other programs. Do research is you want to use this mouse for specific programs. Does not have a true smooth scroll like advertised. It just feels like smooth scrolling but still notches down and up in the window. The side scrolling works but has different speeds in different applications. Ex. It is slow in VS.NET and fast in IE. Pretty nerve wracking. You must have "Terminal Services" turned on or the drivers will not work. I'm sure this is an early bug and will corrected shortly.
Overall: I am happy with this mouse. I use it for development purposes and it work quite nicely I must say.
