I've used this model at work for a couple of years and finally bought one for home after trying a wide and expensive variety of other ergo keyboards. This model is far better than the newer MS Natural 4000 as the key travel is more crisp - not cheap spongy feeling. It is much less expensive than specialized, adjustable ergo keyboards. The angle at the split is very comfortable. Once you adapt to it, regular straight keyboards will drive you nuts - you'll never go back. The only drawback is that this is a PS/2 keyboard - laptop user's beware. An adapter will allow use in a USB port, but all the media keys will be inoperative (for every adapter I tried). Get a docking port that has PS/2 port built in.

I'm an MT so typing all day. This keyboard takes a little getting used to but is very worth it. With this I have no wrist pain/numbness at the end of the day. The 6 is on the wrong side and does take some adjusting but after a while that is no longer an issue. I highly recommend this one!

It doesn't always function (green "on" light) when I turn my computer on. I usually have to restart it once or sometimes twice. Never had that problem with old keyboard. It's compatible with my system so I don't understand what the problem is. But otherwise the keyboard itself is comfortable.

I have several of these keyboards, work, home and at my dads even. I love the spit keyboard, it is hard for me to use normal ones now. I work at a computer most of the day, and go to school so I use it a lot at home too. I like the hand rest, it is perfect. I have had the one at home for about 4 years, still perfect. I have boughten other ones at work that were more expensive, but had issues. I think if the keys were made to type quietly , it would be perfect.

I don't use it much, its' in my home office for "work" when I'm home on weekends but I needed a Natural style keyboard for my wrists, and this fit the bill. The price was right, and it's pretty decent. I wouldn't say the action of the keys is anything to rave over, but it gets the job done.

Bought this keyboard at a great price and it is has great features like the hotkeys and I really like the feel of the buttons as you type.
These remind me of those older IBM ones where you really could feel and here that nice click.

Did not like proprietary layout.......2004-12-24

I could not get use to the proprietary layout of the Delete, Home, End, Insert, Page Up, and Page Down keys. I do not like the way the function keys are setup nor do I like having to use the F Lock button. If you can get over these issues, then it might work well for you. If you have to use standard layout keyboards as well as this keyboard, then the two different layouts may cause you grief.

Im using this product to type this maeesage. Well, I must say Im dissapointed with the product. The buttons dont require much force to push down. (which is nice) But the keys do NOT go down smoothly. I have never mistreated this keyboard.... so I know its not that. I bought it around 5 to 6 months ago. And in the last 2 months the problem began to occur. If some of the keys arent pressed down EXACTLY strait, the key will rub on the cheap platic shaft that its on. :( It makes it VERY irritating sometimes. Infact while typing this message, it happened 4 or 5 times. Im getting a Logitech next.

I've used just about every type of keyboard out there, but this is hands down the best. I have severe carpal tunnel, but this KB is very comfortable to use, and with just one press of a button I can access my messenger, mail and internet. The "hot keys" for My Documents, My Pictures and My Music are just a great added extra.

As for the re-arrangement of the Home/Delete/PGup/PGdown keys, it's just NOT that big of a deal. The shear convenience and comfortability of this keyboard more than makes up for such a MINOR inconvenience.

I can't believe that they rearranged the Insert/Home/Delete/End/PgUp/PgDn keys! Being a veteran computer user, gamer, and touch-typist, this keyboard is useless to me. Every time I go to hit one of these keys, I end up hitting the wrong one. Whose bright idea was it to change this key layout that's been working for more than 15 years??? What is Microsoft going to do next, rearrange the letter keys? Idiotic keyboard. Stay away.

The trend toward adding extra function keys to keyboards to control specific parts of Windows or applications continues with Microsoft's introduction of the Natural MultiMedia keyboard. This device takes the ergonomics of Microsoft's Natural keyboard, with its split keypads, shaped surface, and wrist rest, and adds a variety of useful function keys.

Before plugging the Natural MultiMedia keyboard into the PS/2 socket on the back of your PC, it is necessary to install the included IntelliType Pro 2.2 software. It works with Windows 98 and later, though some hot keys require specific versions of applications, such as Internet Explorer.

The keyboard is styled in dark blue, cream, and grey, so it fits in well with other Microsoft peripherals. As with earlier versions of the Natural keyboard, the keys accessed by the left hand are separated from those intended for the right by being angled away, with a triangular spacer in the middle, above the Spacebar. The bottom-row keys, like Ctrl, Start, and Alt, are enlarged to make them easier to press, and the Spacebar itself can still be used with either thumb.

A new F Lock key, positioned to the right of F12, locks the row of function keys into alternate functions, such as Undo, Close, Send, and Print. This makes working with many applications, including e-mail clients, much quicker. Good keyboard for the money.......2007-08-15

I have two of these keyboards, one at work and one at home. The feel of the keys is a bit different than other keyboards, it has a softer feel. The media buttons at the top for volume, play/pause, etc... are quite nice. The F keys by default do things like Undo, New, Open, etc... and can be quite annoying. However, a quick Google search should lead you to a simple registry hack that fixes this problem for you.
The keyboard I have at home has a left shift key that sticks sometimes (and has since the day I bought it) but the one I have at work is perfect.

My family has several computers. Since I got and raved about my Natural Multimedia Keyboard, we all now have matching NMMK's, and everyone thinks they're great.

I can't compare their touch with that of previous NK models, but I've used about every "non-natural" keyboard under the sun, and I find the NMMK comfortable and fast. (I type over 100 wpm, using the Dvorak key layout---and believe me, when a keyboard's a bottleneck, I know.)

My only complaint was MS's goofy "F-Lock" feature that defaults the F-keys to a set of standard commands (Help, Undo, etc.), and makes you press "F-Lock" to return the F-keys to normal---on every boot. I'm sure people have ranted about that here.

What they may NOT have mentioned is that there's a fix for F-Lock, called 2flockflip. It's a little startup file that automatically toggles the F-keys back to normal. You can download it for free from the author's page. (Amazon probably doesn't want me posting URLs here, so just do a Web search for "2flockflip").

i spend my entire workday in front of my computer so naturally i needed something more comfortable than the stock keyboard that was given to me by my empolyer. i use a natural pro at home and am very happy with it. the natural multimedia has a similar look, but feels very different. the keystroke is a lot smoother, almost feels spongy. the extra multimedia buttons on the top... i don't use them. oh yeah, and the keyboard is noticibly heavier and takes up more space than a stock keyboard...

there are two main things that really annoy me: the function keys (F1-F12) have been replaced by M$ with shortcuts for things like help, undo, redo, open, close, reply, fwd, send, spell, save, print. you can still use the F-keys, but you have to press the FLock button first. annoying. also, there is an oversized delete button -- it sits where the insert button and a normal sized delete button sit.

Terrific Little Speaker with Clear, Strong Sound.......2007-09-07

After reading several dozen consumer reviews describing laptop speakers I puchased this one. You simply plug it into your laptop, or USB hub, swivel the gooseneck to position the speaker where you want, and you've got an excellent speaker that fits in a small laptop utility bag.

The only complaint I have is that there is no quick volume control; once you've plugged it into your USB port, it overrides the laptop's volume control "knob". You have to open the volume icon in your Control Panel every time you want to adjust the speaker volume, which can be too slow when you're being blasted by a loud video.

This is not to say that there is anything wrong with the volume modulation in the speaker itself, just that there seems to be a wide volume range across items I view--YouTube, email messages with videos from friends, etc.

If this speaker had a volume control knob it would be perfect!

NOT RECOMMENDED FOR DELL LAPTOPS.......2007-09-02

After several weeks of light, mid-volume use, the speaker stopped working on my Dell Latitude D500 and I began receiving error messages noting a "device malfunction". After trading emails with J-Lab customer service, I was instructed to return the speaker by mail (at my expense) for a refund. The refund I received was 80% of the original purchase price because, according to J-Lab, the device was still "working" upon receipt. The representative handling the return acknowledged that there has, in fact, been a history of compatibility issues with Dell laptops-- in other words, a "working" speaker may not always operate correctly when connected to a Dell laptop. Is trying this speaker on your Dell worth the risk of paying two sets of shipping charges, losing 20% of the purchase price, and spending time emailing representatives and repacking/mailing the device? If not, maybe it's worth considering alternatives.

Are we listening to the same speakers?.......2007-08-08

We bought this speaker for our Gateway M505 Media Laptop on a recent trip. The M505 has reasonable speakers for a laptop, but their volume level isn't quite strong enough for us to be happy--we'd always find ourselves straining to hear dialogue from movies.

From reading the reviews I honestly thought this would solve our problem in a nifty self-contained USB-powered fashion.

For us it didn't.

We found the speakers to be nearly identical to the M505 speakers, and while the B-Flex did give us the tiniest improvement in volume, it wasn't enough to really give us adequate volume, or the "big sound" many reviewers have mentioned. Also, there is no way a speaker the size of these can give the kind of frequency response any level of audiophile would be happy with.

So, who should try out this speaker? If you have standard tinny sounding laptop speakers (the almost nonexistent kind), these will be a big improvement. Also you will like the fact that it is USB powered so no batteries, no cords are needed.

However, having said that, I really think the bottom line is, to get truly better sound, you need to use a powered speaker. I think some of the JBL's may be the way to go.

For cost of these guys, unless you catch them on sale, my advice is to keep looking. We had to return ours. (Thanks to Amazon a really fair & generous return policy).

My boyfriend bought me this speaker. It is plug-and-play. On my computer, often movies are not loud enough for some reason and with this speaker it's as loud as we could possibly want. Also I can blast my music throughout the house from my laptop - before I could not because it sounded horrible at high volumes.

I'm not much of a sound expert, but I think it sounds pretty good.

Unless your laptop's soundcard is not working, or your speakers are barely hearable I wouldn't recommend this. Odds are your laptop does as much as these speakers.

I really thought the reviews for this item were probably a little over-blown, but the speakers have proven me wrong. As someone who primarily uses their laptop on the go, I have been looking for a set of small, easily transportable, decent sounding speakers. These fit into all three categories. I am pleasantly surprised by the fullness of the sound that they put out. If you're strictly an audiophile, you'd be better off investing in a good set of Bose headphones, but if you need something to quickly and efficeintly plug and play so other people can hear what is on your laptop, then you won't find a better buy for your money.

OEM products typically come with a bit less and a bit more work but this is the same product in a white box. the keyboard is a PS2 version and lacks the USB capability found in some higher end versions. I've had both versions and can't tell a difference.

I have long used natural keyboads. They spoil you for standard keyboards. The software that comes with it isn't necessary in the latest version of Windows as the features are preinstalled. And updates to the software don't really mean much.

I like it for the quick access to the net and some features in the OS (use about half the added keys) and have used MS keyboards with a similar feature for a long time. I wasn't sure about the added aspect of the multi-media components but found them quite handy.
