I have had absolutely no problems with this camera. Long battery life, great pictures! It's small enough that it fits comfortably in my pocket, yet it has a large LCD screen making pictures a quick task. I am satisfied with this digital camera, I would recommend this camera to anyone. It may be a bit on the pricey side, but I have yet to regret buying the camera. At the rate this camera is going, I doubt I will!
Small in size but big features.......2007-09-19
I currently have a silver one of these and a 7.2megapixel Casio as well.
Huge rear screen is a bonus and for those out there that hate puttons etc all over the camera, this is the one.
You can go deep into the menu structure or just stay on top and shoot all you like.
This is a go anywhere type of camera and is robust enough to be used by the kids if. I would like to have it have a longer exposure time as I sometimes like to take long exposure night shats but that is life. I use the 7.2 for that.
the flash is bright enough for a normal size room. and the antishake is great.
I can see it won't be long before a touch screen is added to the back instead of buttons, for furute models.
Overall a great little camera with great big features and capabilities.

I really like the camera it is one of the best I had so far. The pictures look sharper and clearer. The only thing that I don't like is the pictures it takes at night they don't come out clear; however,I haven't found a digital camera that takes good night pictures yet so that's why I took away only 1 star. Overall, love the camera and it is a good buy.

The Casio Exilim EX-Z1050 10.1MP Digital Camera is a very compact, easy to use camera. It is a great point and shoot camera. The picture quality is beautiful. The camera fits into your pocketbook, pocket, or comes with a wristband. The only negative thing I would point out about this camera, is that it does not have an eyepiece for viewing. You use the screen to view, and at times, the sun's glare makes it almost impossible to see what you are shooting. Practice before you go on vacation taking pictures. If you are like me, and have never taken pictures without an eyepiece to look through, you need to practice (I was cutting off heads, etc.). This is a great camera for amateurs who love carrying a camera around to take pictures of their families.

Don't Buy It.......2007-09-23
Ever since I bought it I have had problems. The signal does not work when the microwve is on, even though the microwave is about 30 feet away. The 2 units don't commuicate very well. I have to constantly be adjusting the location of the receiver because it looses signal. The receiver is only 18 feet away and it has a hard time working. Sometimes, during a movie, the signal will go out for 4 seconds which is pretty annoying during an action scene. The unit has stopped working completely 3 times in which I have to plug and unplug the unit to fix the problem. The 3rd time the problem did not get fixed so I am returning the unit. I purchased warranty for it so hopefully they will give me my money back instead of trying to fix it. I should of never purchased it.

Anything to avoid hiding wires...........2007-04-12
Haven't had any of the other problems reported by other reviewers. Granted, my receiver is only 8 - 10 feet away from the stereo, but there has been no interference from any other devices in the same room (wireless router, wireless phones, wireless temperature stations, numerous remote controls, etc.). If you hate running wires across the walking area in a room, then this is the perfect solution. Of course there are going to be wires running from the receiver to the actual speakers. Those that wanted totally wireless speakers should have gone out and purchased such an item, but they wouldn't have gotten any kind of decent sound out of them like this unit produces.
Why did I buy this..........2007-04-02
I've been thoroughly disappointed with this system since the day I purchased it. First off, I can hardly hear anything from the speakers (no individual volume control for the wireless speakers). I have to put my ears up against the speakers to actually hear them (I think this may not be due to the wireless speakers so much as the Panasonic system driving them).
That's not the most annoying feature though. Ever since I installed the wireless kit, I've had problems with my wireless home network. Apparently, this Kit interferes with my wireless g network. At one point I could not get my network to work at all. Sometimes, I cannot even use my network while I've got my TV/surround on. So I have to turn it off just to work on my computer. Ridiculous.

I found this unit to be unacceptable for my (large) living room. It failed at about 20 feet or so and I had to return it. Panasonic claims 33 feet range.

Portable scanner is Genius.......2007-04-29
I bought this item, and I absolutly love it. The ease of use is amazing. The included software is a bit DOSish, but is effective. The best application included is the CardIRIS, business card recognition software. This scanner works with any TWAIN compatible software. I use my SF-600 on the go. I have had several compliments on the convenience and compact size of the scanner. It is powered by USB so there are no other cords or complications.
Not worth the price.......2007-02-09
It's good in concept, but not in practice. The software does not work well with Windows XP. The installation instructions for the software do not work (i.e., there is no D:\install.exe) Although it's USB, it's not plug and play. You have to manually install several different applications to get it to work. The instructions are a poor translation from a language other than english. The software, once you are able to get it to work, is not user friendly.
The first scanner I got did not work properly - it left a white line through everything I tried to scan. The second one works now after fiddling around with the installation for several hours. But it appears that it will only work with the software that comes with it. There are no instructions for the use of that software. There are better portable scanners out there. There has to be.

Given the features and power of this item, you'd be hard pressed to find anything comparable for such a reasonable price. For less than $200 (including shipping!), we now have a 540 watt, AM-FM stereo, dual cassette, 5-CD changer with a graphic equalizer, sub woofer, and remote control. Plus, unlike many other CD players, this plays CD-RWs and mp3 CDs! Shop around, compare the price and features of this mini-system to others by aiwa, sony, rca, etc., and you'll see why this mini-system sets a new standard for features and value.

An excellent value. Great sound at a reasonable price. Better specs than the model it replaced (AK630K) for the same price. A breeze to hook up. If you don't need or don't want a surround sound system but wnat to boost your movie watching enjoyment, this is the product for you. The separate sub-woofer makes a huge difference. DVD and broadcast movies never sounded better, not to mention my CDs. The five disk CD changer feature is an added bonus. I've found no negatives with this item. I love it.

Economic 5.1 sound for Xbox 360 .......2007-02-15
It was hard to find a 5.1 system in this price range that had optical digital input needed for the Xbox 360, so I was pleased with this. I was disappointed with the unpowered subwoofer & cardboard-like speaker enclosures. But it sounds fine for its use and it's good for its price. And my fault for assuming the subwoofer was powered.
Panasonic SC-HT40 Review/Feedback and Research Help for others (great value).......2006-12-29
I purchased 12/2006 for my boyfriend, so far we like it very much. I give it 4 stars b/c the quality/product for the price I paid was worth the cost (I am not comparing other similar products but comparing price to product ratio: value).
I purchased from a retail store (C.C.) for $169.99 on sale and I did buy a 3yr full warranty for $39.99 (total $209.98 + TX sales tax of $17.32 = $227.30). They also offered a 5yr warranty for $75.99+tax. These warranties are concurrent w/ the incl 1yr manufacturer's warranty. I purchased the warranty b/c people mentioned the unit overloading, blowing speakers, etc. after 1 month to 1 yr. I called Panasonic b/c they offer a similar warranty that starts after the 1yr incl man war: 2yr=$84.95, 3yr=$119.95 (if you call fast you get an "early bird discount" of 10%). With 10% off: 3yr(1yr+2yr)=$76.45, 4yr(1yr+3yr)=$107.95.
Here are a few pros and cons for you if you are looking at this model (everything I could think of)!
Pros:
1) Great sound for my size room (about 14 ft front to back & 15 feet wide) and good quality output/input: example Dolby Digital/DTS, etc. (read the specs for more details).
2) Everything included, nothing else needed (except maybe speaker stands if you like, but not really needed). Speaker wire is nice white, high quality 22 gauge copper wire.
3) MANY input options: 1 COAX digital, 2 optical digital and 2 RCA stereo (Red/White) analog sets and they can all be programmed in any order (ex. 1 coax digital w/ 1 RCA, 2 optical, 1 optical w/ 1 RCA, etc). There is one output option for the DVR/DVD player input that is a RCA stereo (Red/White) analog set for recording (I have never used it, but it says you could take the DVD player sound back to the TV, etc).
4) Good color display screen
5) Easy setup and programming (just read the manual and then you can do it months later--that easy to remember and only took me 5 minutes to program everything).
6) AWESOME subwoofer: slim, strong, shielded well, wood, speaker protected.
7) Panasonic is very honest about the power (wattage) output and low power consumption (even says when powered off it will use 1W).
8) Direct FM/AM tuning: enter the exact station number w/ remote (no need for scrolling up/down by .1, though you can do that too).
9) 30 FM/AM presets programmable in any combination of AM/FM (easy to program).
10) Great look, durable, nicely made and buttons seem strong (I don't think this model will break easily--that is as far as the physical structure).
11) Multiple wireless options: rear speakers w/ rear music port AND/OR 2nd room speaker w/ music port. You can purchase the SH-FX60 to have rear speakers and a rear music port that sends audio from the port back to the unit (could be used for say computer output, etc.). You can also purchase the SH-FX80 to have a single speaker in the rear middle OR in a second room (also has a music port but does not send back to the unit, from what I have read). If you purchase both, they will both work, so you can have dual rear wireless speakers (SH-FX60) and also branch to a 2nd room (SH-FX80).
Cons:
1) The speakers come w/ cables attached! This is really annoying b/c if you need longer speaker wire you have to splice&solder on more to the existing/attached cable which could lower quality. They fit my size room (barely, but I have the cable run around the outside perimeter/edges of the walls--not straight back), so if you have a room about 14x15ft then you are okay or if you want to run them straight back (diagonally) such as under the carpet or a rug, etc.
Speaker wire is white, high quality 22 gauge copper wire--nice quality.
I couldn't find the speaker wire lengths documented, so I measured and here are mine (probably at most 1 ft from average):
1 Center: SB-PC40: 6.5 ft
1 Subwoofer: SB-W40: 13 ft
2 R/L Front: SB-PF40: 13.5 ft
2 R/L Rear/Surround: SB-PS40: 26.5 ft
2) Speakers have a cloth cover (no plastic mesh/checkerboard shield to protect the speaker). So if you drop, puncture, etc. the cloth you go straight into the speaker (I like the mesh so if a speaker is ever hit, dropped, etc. the mesh can protect the important part--the speaker). THERE IS ONE EXPECTION: the subwoofer is VERY well shielded and is MUCH better than most designs that use the side output w/ just cloth. The subwoofer has a plastic cover on the front (a front facing speaker cone) that protects the cone and the only access to the actual speaker surface are slits on front (both sides) that are about 6-7in tall and at the widest point is 1in wide (see picture for better understanding of my measurements here).
3) The speakers appear to be cased/caged/held/mounted/shielded using ONLY plastic (w/ exception of the front where there is just cloth...read above). The plastic is very solid and appears to be very hard (so I believe it to be very durable and will hold up). I would have preferred wood (to enhance quality) but that doesn't always add THAT much to the smaller speakers. Again THERE IS ONE EXPECTION: the subwoofer case/cage is solid wood on every side but the front (just painted silver to match other speakers); the front is thick/heavy duty plastic.
4) The system only allows you to select 2 inputs from the 5 possible rear inputs (1 COAX digital, 2 optical digital and 2 RCA stereo (Red/White) analog sets). Select options "menu" automatically include Tuner AM, Tuner FM, Rear Music Port (used for the digital transceiver's digital audio port IF you purchase and install/setup Panasonic SH-FX60), Front Music Port (for the audio port on the front of the unit--works great), TV and DVR/DVD-P. The TV and DVR/DVD-P options can be set to ONE of any of the 5 possible rear inputs. So for example, TV could be 1 of the RCA stereo (Red/White) analog set inputs and DVR/DVD-P could be 1 of the 2 optical digital inputs or the COAX digital input. This is a pain, BUT it only took me 10 seconds (at the unit) to change the option using its very easy menus.
5) Remote can only select between TV, DVR/DVD-P, and Tuner AM/FM. It cannot select the Front or Rear Music Port options. The remote also ONLY works w/ Panasonic devices. So, for example, if you had a Panasonic TV, you could turn it on/off, do TV/VIDEO selections and volume (possibly channel w/ the numeric inputs, but I am not sure); or if you had a Panasonic DVR/DVD Player you would have more options too. BUT if you do not have any other Panasonic devices the remote ONLY works for the Home Theater Audio System (SC-HT40) receiver. This is not that big a deal, but would have been nice if it could have been programmed to my Sony TV and Sony DVD Player.
6) FM/AM antenna wire lengths are short (but are normal lengths when compared to other systems...not any shorter). The unit does not seem to get the best FM/AM reception/signal quality either (or at least for my setup and location--DFW metroplex).
7) The unit seems to get hot after a while, but this is probably normal, and I know many other units put off the same amount of heat.
Audio In.......2006-04-30
This machine sounds great, but it's a real pain to switch between audio inputs. Panasonic gave several inputs, but there's no way to cycle through all of them. You have to narrow all your inputs to two custom settings, really: by setting either the DVR/DVDp or TV to one input at a time. That means that when you push the input selection, you can only cycle though FM, AM, DVR, TV, the front mini audio in, and back mini audio (which is completely useless without the wireless system you have to purchase separately.) Would it have been SO hard to let us cycle through OPT1, OPT2, Analog 1, 2, and Coaxial? (Big Big Pain - just wait till you have to go though the menu system.) But...Panasonic makes Great products, so it's not a big deal unless you have several different things to connect to your receiver.

The sound was never that good. But I didn't have to worry about that since 6 months later it died. Kaput. Error F65. I replaced it with a Phillips purchased on sale at BestBuy. The quality & sound is so much better! Shop around on this one, it's not worth it.
Great for the price.......2007-07-04
I was not looking to break the bank on an entertainment center. I just wanted a reliable one with wireless rear speakers. This one has 2 speakers in one large wireless rear. One power plug no other wires for the speaker. The wireless is RF (RF- does not need a direct line of sight infa-red does). It was purchaced through Amazon from Discount Jungle refurb so it was only $185 (-$30 for getting Amazon card: $155). This is $400 new and most name brands with wireless rear are minimum $400. Works fine, sounds great. Great buy if your not looking for top of the line.

A good sound through the front set of speakers, wireless rear speaker set-up that works OK. But overall works fine. There is no interference with wireless internet. Ocassionaly stops working to avoid interference with other electronics in the house...I have noticed it stop when we use the microwave that is near by.
Not quite surround sound quality.......2007-05-13
Be careful, very careful when purchasing Home theatre systems such as this.
They are not as advertised in most cases. This products best feature is the wireless transciever, yet it has a few bugs, such as distance and how close speakers can be placed. Too close and you get the "Jimmy Hendricks" feedback effect.
This products downfall is that it really isn't a SURROUND SOUND SYSTEM as they would have you beleive. It is shy 2 rear speakers, and yet the on-screen setup and the manual show a different setup...STRANGE.
I though it was a shipping error, but, no...it really is missing 2 speaker connection ports for what most systems call the rear speakers.
The sub woofer is great and the over all sound quality is good, minus the speaker issue.
If you want a better product in ths line of pre-HDDVD players (5 up), check out Samsung's sister system.
Much better and more for the money. True HOME THEATRE SURROUND SOUND!
Great Sound for the Price.......2007-02-24
My old roommate took her stereo system back, and we always had cords running in the living room because of the rear speakers. I invested in this product because I wanted to take full advantage of the wireless rear speakers. It works great as long as you completely follow the disclaimer to NOT HAVE ANY SIGNAL DEVICE NEAR IT while you have it on. I'm talking cell phones especially. If you don't get those in the way of the transmission, then everything is peachy keen. I know that's not the fault of the product itself, but just of the Technology itself.
So if you want a good solution for a good price and can manage the gadgets near it, then it's all good.
