LIke Watching Paint Dry and Grass Grow.......2007-09-05
Flash drive convenience and snail-like speed--that sums up this Olympic XD Card Reader. Believe the other reviews that complain about slowness. If you've got a dozen or so pics to download, no problem. But if you're in the habit of dumping a half gig or (god forbid) a full gig of photos onto your computer, then be prepared to wait... and wait... and wait. Very disappointing as compared to the high speed card reader that I use for my Memory Sticks, which is compatible with many other formats but (alas) not XD.
Outstanding product and Service.......2007-08-31
Great product. Makes downloading pictures from both of our cameras so much
easier.
Small but mighty.......2007-08-23
The thing is the size of a Flash drive and even has a place to put it on your key chain. It is fast and seems to work well. My only complaint is that it is so small it could be lost. I put it on a key chain with a large key fob and put that in my camera bag.
Slow, Slow, Slow and guess... Slow!.......2007-08-14
Don't buy it!
Save your money. When I bought it I was so excited about my new camera that I decided to buy some accessories for it but this one turn out to be a waste of money. It's very slow, just if you have a couple of pictures in your XD then it will be just Ok.
I have to say that I have a great computer (Macbook Pro) and that I'm not the only one having this problems. Just check the comments.

Works great for the traveler.......2007-08-12
For a person that travels as much as I do. I don't want all those cables. The Olympus USB 200 Media Redia/writer is great. I am able to download my pictures in a flash.Olympus 202049 USB 200 Media Reader/writer (Retail Package) - Blue

Died after a month.......2007-08-21
I used this a couple times to sync music from my phone to my computer. I was using a 2GB micro SD card with adapter. It worked the first couple times then completely stopped. My computer (a Mac) doesn't even recognize it. I've tried with a couple different SD cards (micro and regular) so I'm pretty sure it's not the card. It was only 10 bucks so I'm not too upset, but thought I'd pass on my experience.
Works well with a 512 SD chip........2007-07-05
More convenient to use than plugging in my digital camera to download photos every time. Also works well for managing music on a 1 GB SD chip that I use with a siren MP3 player.
It's works fine........2007-06-10
I bought this for $10.95. It is working fine but gets heated when used for some time. Otherwise, it is good for the price.
good unit to have but finicy on some computers.......2007-05-14
This is a good small unit to have but on some computers it is a bit finicky when it comes to plug and play. The unit has a tendacy to either state unit needs to be formated or no media present. When it does work, transfer is good to the media supplied. Also recommended that one gets a USB cord extender so that the unit can be pluged into computers tha have less than usual plug in space on the front.
Excellent for price.......2007-04-09
This reader is very convenient. Fits in my camera case, and can be plugged into USB on PC anywhere. Pc will recognize it right away and ready to go. Essential and reliable. Nice covers to protect it too.
Product Description
The reader can be used to copy or transfer virtually any file type, such as pictures, text documents or MP3's, to or from a CompactFlash Card.
Customer Reviews:
Did not Work.......2007-08-18
This device did not "plug and play" in my up-do-date, Windows XP computer. When I plugged it in it asked if I wanted to "format" the drive. I declined and downloaded my pictures directly from the camera. I then chose to "format". It was unsuccessful and wrecked my CF card. I had no problems with a reader from Kingston that cost a bit more.
Not for professional shooters.......2007-08-07
I guess I have to be the first to give this product a negative review. I have to take some of the blame, though, since I only now noticed the "USB 1.1" part of the name. I didn't know anybody made USB in any version other than 2.0 these days, so I was surprised when my 4-gig card claimed it would take 70 minutes to load onto my laptop. Heck, the cheapie card reader I've been using for 3 years goes much, MUCH faster than that. I had hoped to replace that relatively bulky reader with this slim little product, but I'll be passing the Delkin along to my wife's camera bag and keeping the old one for my pro work. Look for another product if speedy downloads are a priority.
You get what you pay for. .......2007-05-29
This product is EXACTLY what it claims to be. They cut no corners and made no false promises. It is very easy to use, I just plugged it in and inserted two different memory cards, both of which worked without problems. It is a great product and I recomend it to anyone that needs a convenient way to get their pictures on their computer. (It is a smart alternative to buying a cable to hook your camara up to your computer.)
Great CompactFlash Reader.......2007-05-21
I've only used it to read a CompactFlash card, it worked without any problems. I haven't used it to write data to the memory card. It is definitely worth the price!
Very usefull.......2007-01-03
How small with so many uses. Easy to carry with me on trips.
Glad someone recommended this to me.

Customer Reviews:
BUYER BE VERY AWARE!.......2007-08-28
Incredibly, I am told that Olympus camera software is not compatible with Microsoft PCs. So, to read my Olympus media card, I had to purchase a media card reader. No big deal if it works...but it DOES NOT! I installed the software on two different PCs, rebooted both computers and NOTHING! Neither computer can even find the device let alone read it. On top of that, every time I try to find the reader, my computer wants to reinstall the reader software. If you have an older Olympus camera like I do, don't spend your money on this reader; it is a waste.
Overpriced garbage.......2007-03-29
Save yourself the money and effort, buy a generic USB 2.0 reader from one of the major manufacturers for half the price.
A dud.......2007-01-09
Followed all directions, when I tried to download pictures, the indicator light didn't flash or stay lit at all. I got an error message saying something about the logo not being proper and that I should return to merchant to have it made right. Needed to use it right away. so I borrowed a friend's webcam and took pictures for my auctions with it. I was very disgusted, so I never wrote you and just took the loss. I haven't used you since.
G
Does what i wanted, nothing more.......2007-01-04
The sole reason I bought the reader was for the xD reader. and that works perfectly. however, i tried to use it with my SD card, like it claims it can do, and I actually broke it in half (the card) trying to put it in the reader. I really did not pay much for it, so being it serves it's purpose. And I was able to still use the SD card after it broke, so I still can't complain too much. But if you are buying it for it's "all-in-one" capabilities, don't.
Amazon rocks!.......2006-11-10
This card reader is a good product and I got it at a great price from J&R, via Amazon, when I gave up trying to buy it at Olympus' lame website.

Customer Reviews:
Portable, does what it is suppose to.......2007-03-31
This device has a USB female to female cable, and thus can be connected direct, or connected via the cable. I leave the cable on my computer, and carry this with me in my bag. It is very, very lightweight, and I really like that the USB cable on the device slides into a little slot and does not dangle outside.
When installed, it does assign a drive letter to each memory card slot (5 I think), so you may need to modify the drive letter assignments to get it to work.
It has worked flawlessly for me for my camera cards and file storage.
GOOD CARD READER BUT LOOK AROUND FIRST.......2007-03-28
This is one of the fastest card readers i have used. Good card reader but look around Amazon before you purchase this card reader. Only after I purchased this reader, I realized that there are card readers on Amazon that read xd cards and are also cheaper.
Fast reader.......2007-02-15
This reader is among the faster ones that I've tried. I was able to get about 6 MB/sec when reading from a 1GB Sandisk Ultra II CompactFlash card. The fact that the cord tucks into the side of the reader is a nice touch that makes it easy to travel with. I don't have to carry lots of cables with me.
Beware that the Amazon picture is slightly misleading as the device has been updated and no longer matches the picture. The new version is slightly bigger: It's actual dimensions are 4.4" x 3" x 0.6".
Works, but Write/Delete Problems.......2007-01-19
It usually works like it says it should, but at times, I keep receiving weird write errors when trying to move or delete data from the card. This happens only with SD cards, but happens with multiple brands and sizes (32MB, 128MB, 512MB, 2GB). CF cards work fine though.
When writing, moving or deleting data doesn't work, I usually just have to unplug the entire unit and plug it back in, and then it seems to function properly. I'm not sure if I have a defective unit or something's wrong with the SD card sensor.
Otherwise, though, everything works fine.
Quick and Easy.......2007-01-04
I am a Mac user, and sometimes question how hassle-free (or vice versa, how hassle-full) incorporating a new accessory will be. This card reader simply plugged in and started working. AND it is so much faster than using my USB from the cameras to the computer. I have used with SD cards and Compact Flash, and it works very well with both.

Customer Reviews:
Compact and easy to use.......2005-09-15
Doesn't take much space and was very easy to use. Downloaded pics very quickly. I recommend it.
Compatible with all MS cards; nice to have for PSP.......2005-03-30
I bought the MSAC-US30 Memory Stick reader because it's the one specified in the Sony Playstation Portable (PSP) manual. It's the only reader that's completely compatible with all Memory Stick and Memory Stick Duo media.
The term "Memory Stick" by itself refers to the original Memory Stick flash memory card made by Sony (and a handful other manufacturers like Lexar, Sandisk and TDK). "Memory Stick Duo" is the second generation of Memory Stick, and it's much smaller than the original Memory Stick. Within each generation (MS and MS Duo), there's the standard media and the "PRO" media, which has faster speeds and is better suited for high-speed video devices, i.e., most of us (including PSP owners) don't need the PRO line of MS or MS Duo. To further complicate things, some Memory Sticks (original or Duo) feature the so-called MagicGate technology, which is a copy-protection scheme used only by Sony.
Ok, so this reader is the only one that can read all these Sony-proprietary Memory Stick formats. (The only other USB reader I know of that can read Memory Stick Duo is the Sandisk 12-in-1 reader, but that one has poor quality, slow speed and is not MagicGate compatible.) Which Memory Stick should you get? Here's my take:
1) If you plan to store Sony's ATRAC3 or ATRAC3Plus encoded music files (i.e., those ripped from CDs using Sony's SonicStage software, or those bought at Sony's Connect Music Store), you must use a MagicGate Memory Stick.
2) If you plan to use flash memory in the latest Sony camcorders or the Playstation Portable (PSP), you must buy a Memory Stick Duo card. (Think of MS Duo as Sony's answer to Secure Digital, whereas the original-sized MS competes with CompactFlash.)
3) If you use something that requires high-speed access (e.g., certain Sony digital cameras and camcorders), you should get a Memory Stick or Memory Stick Duo that's PRO-designated.
I know this is all very confusing, and it took me a while to figure out. In fact, the story doesn't end here; users of older Memory Stick cards know some of them used two separate memory chips inside a singular MS card. Anyway, e-mail me gadgester @t hotmail if you have any questions.
Great Idea!.......2004-02-18
Ok, so I go into Best Buy to buy this thing which I bought for my son and have no idea what it does. So when I get it home, he takes his Memory Stick from his camera and sricks it into the reader. He has to do a project for school so he saves his project onto the stick, takes it to school, prints it out, and he gets it. Good idea if you don't want to spend huge $$$ for flash drives.

DELKIN 17 IN 1 UNIVERSAL ( DDREADER-38 ).......2007-03-15
I really like the reader. It is a decent size, is very quick with moving files, and works with my PDA. I've had it for over 6 months and it has been great.
Delkin 17 in 1 Card Reader.......2007-01-10
I use this unit for all my downloads from Compact Flash cards and SD cards, it works very well. Bought this unit because we use the same model were I work, Chicago Tribune Photo Dept, and it stands up to a LOT of use. It's very fast and built well. Would buy the same unit again if I had to.
Best card reader we've bought........2007-01-09
We've gone through quite a few card readers over the years but this got to be by far the best one yet. It accepts just about any card, altho we only use the CF slot. Its SMOKING fast compared to the others we've owned. Downloading pictures off of my 4GB microdrive used to take close to an hour, with this one its a matter of minutes.
I love it. I think you'd be pleased if you got it.

Customer Reviews:
very helpful item.......2006-11-04
The supplier was called "Blue Proton", which, strangely, seemed to want to give these away almost for free -- it was the shipping charge that made buying the Readers almost like buying new 128mb+ USB thumbdrives at retail.
Windows-98-SE and XP-Pro2 systems had no trouble "finding" this hardware, and allowed high-efficiency Windows file management on SD cards via USB ports without conspicuous cables and extra equipment present. The Readers worked like simple thumbdrives with SD slots. Files written onto the SD cards through the USB Readers were subsequently accessed by my Palm Zire-72 with high efficiency, provided that I used correct folder names (eg \DCIM\albumname\*.* for photos, \AUDIO\*.* for mp3 music, etc.). I can only wish that the Readers were slightly smaller in breadth and depth, to sit inconspicuously with more adjacent USB devices plugged in. (Actually, I think the USB slots are really crammed too close together on the back on my HP and Dell CPU towers.) I suppose the actual access speeds of different models could become issues, but so far most of what I have done with the Readers hasn't required me to look exactly at speed.
